This was our first time staying at Le Germain for a date night in the city, and it was such a treat. The location on Stephen Avenue was perfect, steps away from great restaurants and a beautiful area to walk and explore at night. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The valet came right away and made things easy, which helped with the small inconvenience of nearby construction. I really appreciated how convenient the online check-in was, and our room key worked without any issues the whole time. We were surprised with a complimentary upgrade, which made the night feel even more special. The room was modern, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, it made our date night memorable. We would definitely come back again!

Rooms itself was nice and spacious. Bed was on the harder side (not my cup of tea). There is in room coffee machine with pods. I have never been a fan of valet parking, even worse when it’s almost forced because there is no other option really. Then having to pay $50 on top. Truly not worth it. Just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Location is very central to many bars/restaurants. Likewise, because of this, there is a lot of traffic. The staff we encountered have been all nice. Room can use more bath towels. Most likely would not return due to the parking situation alone.

The hotel is absolutely fantastic! The rooms are large, clean and well laid out. The staff is friendly and offers wonderful advice. The restaurant food was perfect with attentive staff. I walked what felt like all of the city attractions safely and easily from the hotel. It's a great space for business or personal trips.

Google
The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring Calgary. The staff was so friendly and the room was very large and clean. We especially appreciated the large bathroom with plenty of space. The beds, however, weren't particularly comfortable. It was also frustrating that we had 3 registered guests but only 2 towels were provided - we had to keep asking for extra towels. It was also surprising in such a modern hotel how few outlets there were and no USB ports at all. (but, inexplicably, a corded telephone next to the toilet) It was also surprising that in an upscale hotel, coffee was not provided in the morning - when I asked about getting a cup of coffee, I was directed to the Starbucks across the street.

Google
Outstanding Hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the attention to detail throughout the room. On top of being new, modern, and clean, the room was priced very fairly and in a prime location. The layout of the room was also excellent, with great flow. This will be our hotel of choice whenever we visit Calgary :)

This was my first visit at Le Germain Hotel. Although I live in Calgary, I decided to have a staycation and treat myself to a luxury hotel and enjoy live performance at Vertigo Theatre across the street. I found the staff extremely courteous and welcoming. I was impressed by the spacious gym on the 13th floor, surrounded by large windows with 360 degree views. My only suggestion would be to offer breakfast buffet to all guests, on weekends at least. There was one on Sunday morning but it was a private function. It looked absolutely amazing with fresh croissants and hot food.

Google
We had booked a holiday to the Canadian Rockies and was spending two nights in Calgary. We were booked into Le Germain Hotel. It was our first time in Canada and at the hotel. The location was superb, in the heart of Calgary city opposite Calgary Tower. We had a lovely room with lots of nice touches. The hotel team were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. The hotel had its own distinctive style and flavour, although part of a prestigious independent hotel group that is Canadian owned. We will certainly return when we next visit Calgary.

Google
The room was nice - modern & clean. What you expect from a fancy hotel. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth that they built a hotel downtown and don't offer their guests free parking. It's an extra $50/day for valet parking - if there is an option besides the valet, it wasn't offered to me. They also charge you a marketing fee and pretend it's taxes when questioned about it. Overall the stay was nice - but I won't be back due to poor policies & service.

Yelp
This is about the spa. I had the worst massage ever and walked out 20 minutes in. The woman pulled my hair after I shared I didnt like my hair touched and when I asked her what she was doing, she said she had to do this? Like what? The pressure was inconsistent and just bad. It interrupted my day for just a horrible experience.

Yelp
On our first trip to Canada, and our first time in Calgary, my husband and I started and ended our trip at Le Germain Hotel Calgary. We flew in pretty late on a Friday night and stayed at the hotel the first night of our trip. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was very spacious and clean. It was very modern and had a wonderful shower with great water pressure. The bed was comfy, albeit a little small (My husband and I are used to a California king). The room had an espresso machine and a wonderful vanity for getting ready, not to mention a semi walk-in closet. The location of this hotel is great if you are looking to walk around downtown Calgary. We enjoyed our stay so much that we spent our last night at the same hotel in Calgary before flying out the next morning. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are coming to Calgary.

Yelp
Went to pickup friends and got to see the rooms. The location of the hotel is very convenient as we were meeting friends at the Delta Marriott. The staff at Germain were very professional and obviously very well trained. The hotel is clean and the ambience is amazing. However, the rooms were a bit of a disappointment as I have stayed in much nicer hotel rooms. The design and layouts were very lame and not very well planned out. For the money, I would not have friends stay here. Other than the rooms the hotel is outstanding.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay here at Le Germain. The hotel is super central to everything downtown. An easy walk or scooter ride away. The staff are incredible and the rooms were super nice. I definitely recommend anyone wanting to stay in Calgary downtown core to give this place a visit!

Yelp
Even though we only had one night here, we were really pleased with our experience. Check in and Checkout were a breeze, staff was friendly, location is very good. I will add, because of the direction we came into town we had to circle the block to come up on the hotel entrance where the valet was located. (Across from the space needle!) We loved the modern decor of the hotel and the room was exceptionally well appointed, with everything from a spacious bathroom and closet to a functional desk area and chaise lounge. We were able to walk to all sorts of places from the hotel. Easy access to museums, sites, shopping and dining. We sat in the lobby bar and watched some tennis, and ended up staying there to eat dinner. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. We really felt like this hotel was an exceptional value for the price we paid. If we find ourselves in Calgary again we will absolutely stay here again!

Yelp
The Le Germain Hotel would be the perfect hotel for a stay in the surprisingly fun tourist destination of Calgary, except for a couple of issues. The location is in the best part of downtown, near just about everything. Service is warm, professional and amazingly helpful. Rooms are large, bathrooms sumptuous, with thick towels and great water pressure. However, sacrifices made in the cause of "design," went too far. Storage is ridiculous in these trendy rooms. The minuscule closet was packed after hanging just a few items. Drawers are near the closet, stuck in an awkward cove, almost impossible to get to. Please see my photos. What I don't understand is storage opportunities were available. There was a locked closet holding something or another. Please see my photos. The area around the television could hold ample storage, but the only access was taken by the safe. What was the architect or designer thinking? It was weird. Please see my photos. The other design fault was the lighting. The room was dark even with all the lights on. I was afraid that something would be left because we couldn't see a thing. In spite of these design flaws we liked the hotel and would probably stay at Le Germain again. But, what was that designer thinking? He/She must travel with one shirt, one pair of pants, one pair of shoes, and one pair of undies. And, those undies better be pretty small.

Yelp
This is my first post about any business. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Very few people understand English. The phone doesn't work. The sheets weren't changed. The lights are weird and ambient light can't be shut off. No vending machines. A feeling of not being safe. I could go on but I'm still here! Leaving today. One night was enough. However, the food was amazing. ‍

Yelp
This hotel is amazing! Such a treat to stay here. Customer service is top notch from check in to check out. I travel a lot and this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in when you balance price, location, service and the room. Location is central, right by the Calgary Tower. Easily accessible by taxi or the 300 airport bus (only $10.50 and drops you off a half block from the hotel). Free Wi-fi. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Comfortable beds. Lots of outlets at the desk for work. Excellent bathrooms - nicely designed, lots of lighting options. Toilet area is separate. My room did not have a bathtub but had a large shower. Very safe as you need a key to access the rooms from the elevator. I had tons of storage in the area by the door. It wasn't a traditional closet, but rather an open walk in area with the safe and lots of room for my suitcase and hanging items. Had an amazing stay here and I would highly recommend Hotel le Germain!

Yelp
This review is for the spa only. I made an appointment for a massage after hearing it was one of the best spa experiences in the area. While arriving and checking in, I was informed that the spa had accidentally booked a stranger and myself in a couples massage... and that one of us had to reschedule. The stranger and I worked it out, but I was appalled when we were not offered any gesture or discount for them messing up. I understand everyone makes mistakes, but this was just mind blowing. The massage itself was great, but someone random accidentally walked in during my service, so that was uncomfortable. Do not think I will come back to get a service here. Additionally, the women's locker room lights kept going off. Once while in the sauna, and another time while in the shower. Lights in these areas should always be on as a safety concern for those using the facilities provided.

Laura B.

Yelp
Wouldn't stay here again. Considering it was rather pricy, we were expecting better. Pros: The hotel staff were very polite. Comfortable beds. Clean room, great location. Cons: The first issue was the lights. The room requires your key card to be inserted in a main switch in order to turn any other lights on in the room. Once we had that settled, we came to realize there are very few lights in the room. It's dark. Very Dark. I found myself using the flashlight on my iphone a lot because it puts off better light. The bathroom was quite nice and it included a separate (and very dark) toilet room. There was a telephone on the wall next to the toilet. Not sure why. Another surprise: there isn't a suitcase holder in the room. We kept our suitcases on top of the minibar area as we'd prefer not to leave suitcases on the floor. The rooftop patio seemed like a nice idea however it is reserved for private events only. The website didn't mention this tidbit. It's a $500 fee just to go up there for photos. No thanks.

Yelp
How very Darth Vader. The rooms n hallways A little too dark. Im not sure why The hotels in town all Run a little towards the dark side. Its a little strange. Sharp lobby, lounge, Centrally located next To everything downtown. Probably the best hotel In downtown but again The actual rooms a little too dark.

Yelp
This was the highlight of my trip to Canada. We had to wait about an hour past check in due to our room being "excessively dirty" LOL. But they were gracious and comped our valet parking for our stay. When we arrived in our room, we were blown away with how clean it was. As far as cleanliness goes, I've stayed in budget Motels to 5-star Hotels/resorts, and this was the cleanest of any of them. The modern design/decor was refreshing after a 14 hour drive from Boise. We paid for the premium room (hey, when the exchange rate works in your favor you may as well treat yourself, right?!) and it was worth it. My fiancé had never stayed in a "nice" hotel and she was absolutely blown away. For someone who has lived in hotels, it was neat to see someone's reaction that wasn't used to these spoils. The bathtubs fill from the ceiling, which is cool - something you see in newer luxury homes. The shower was a bit confusing but we figured it out. The robes were very nice. I fell in love with the bed. It's a bit softer than what I have at home, which is nice to sleep on once in a while. We were very refreshed the next morning before hitting the road to Banff. Thank you, Germain, for being the best part of our entire Alberta trip!

Yelp
Fantastic gem of a hotel! We stayed here for a mini staycation with our infant and had a great time. We were initially greeted by warm and welcoming staff who filled us in on everything we needed to know. I had corresponded with staff previously and we had a mini crib, baby bathtub and diaper genie placed in our room ready for our arrival. As a special surprise to my partner, I had asked for a picture of Elvis to be placed in the room. The room was gorgeous and modern, impeccably clean. The rainfall shower head was a special touch in the bathroom with fluffy robes and very thick soft towels. I really appreciated having the toilet separate from the rest of the restroom We had a lovely breakfast that was included with the room and each morning we were greeted by friendly staff who brought us coffee. We easily went to a lovely dinner at Charcut, without leaving the hotel our first night, which we were grateful for given the April snow. The following night we went to Saltlik Steakhouse next door after doing a bit of shopping on Stephan Avenue. The location of this hotel was perfect, as were the staff and amenities. My partner had a very enjoyable massage on the penthouse level at RnR Wellness Spa in a well appointed room. We can't wait for our next visit!

Yelp
I stay in hotels about 120 nights a year. This hotel chain is by far one of my favourites... Toronto, Calgary and their home province of Quebec. Family owned and they do great job. Staff is polite, helpful and the rooms are spectacular!!! A bientôt!!

Yelp
I recently staying here for a Christmas party. Aside from the obvious high end- modern decor and perks, there are a few aspects which lowered my rating of this hotel. The goods: the hotel is located directly across from the Calgary Tower. This is a great location to walk to restaurants, pubs and the downtown mall. The continental breakfast is pretty good. They have a ham and cheese board, pastries, cereal, standard fruit salad and porridge. It's a quaint little room on the second floor and the breakfast is included with your stay. Modern and spacious room. We had a standard king bedroom but it was great to have a little nook to put suitcases and hang suits/dresses that kept it out of the way. Bathroom was long and spaced out. The shower was modern and came equipped with nice shampoos/conditioners. The bad: only 1 elevator was working out of 3 and even that one seemed to be on the fritz which resulted in long wait times. The bathroom sliding door did not close all the way, making it less than soundproof if you know what I mean... The bed was very soft. Neither myself nor my boyfriend had a great sleep. Overall this hotel is definitely a luxurious stay but not sure it's worth the pretty penny especially during the week. (Approx $400/night and weekends $200). Don't forget to add in your $40 a day parking.

Yelp
Central Downtown location? Check. Friendly welcoming employees? Check. Spacious and clean room? Check. Bathroom amenities including a robe? Check, Check. Comfortable bed? Check. Fitness room with all of the basic equipment one needs? Check. Nespresso coffee machine in the room? Check. Breakfast included in my reasonable weekend rate? Check. Needless to say, I was very excited to spend a couple of nights at Hotel Le Germain. When I've looked into their rates and availability in the past, they were always way out of my budget, but I since I was in Calgary on a weekend this visit, their rates were actually reasonable, so I took advantage! Hotel Le Germain had all of the above and more... The bathroom amenities were Molton Brown and smelled / felt great. They also had large mirrors throughout my room. (You'd be surprised how many hotel rooms don't!) Awesome hairdryer, spacious shower, etc... The only thing worth mentioning is that they didn't have a room service option when I was hungry for a late lunch / early dinner. Room service doesn't start until 5:30. Not a huge deal... if I weren't short on time, I could have found plenty of options in walking distance to grab a quick bite. I'll plan better next time! I was more than pleased with my overall experience and I only hope to be back to stay at this 5 star hotel on future visits to YYC!

Yelp
We stay at lots of hotels. Trust me when I say, you won't be disappointed here. As soon as we entered the building, the personable concierge greeted us -from out behind his desk- and made sure we had a good game plan set for seeing sights, eating at the best restaurants, and the main event - New Years Eve. Check-in was a breeze and our bags were taken up immediately. No wifi passwords to deal with. The corner suite we got was very impressive. Lots of room! Expertly designed with the guest in mind. Tastefully decorated, wide hallways for luggage, big walk-in closet, full size tub (in addition to a separate rain shower), a desk with a view, two sinks with counter space and shelving to set plenty of toiletries, a fridge, a safe, a bar, and a sitting area with reading material. There was plenty of natural lighting and many options to dim the multiple light fixtures to your liking. The bed was memorably comfortable. Not too low to the ground, not overly scented, and the pillows were soft yet supportive. I especially loved having a throw blanket, robe, and slippers for additional comfort. The hotel room service menu is limited. I'm not sure if not offering lunch deserves a star deduction or not. You can enjoy complimentary breakfast upstairs or have it delivered to your room for a cost. But, between 10a (11a on weekends and holidays) and 4p, there is no room service. After 4p you are able to order many delicious dishes from the attached restaurant, Char|Cut, that they will bring up for you. The staff was pleasant, professional, and accommodating. The property is functional, clean, and comfortable. I would be happy to move in permanently.

Yelp
Amazing hotel in a very convenient downtown Calgary location. The room itself was huge! You could pretty much do backflips in it if you wanted to. The closet to hang your clothes was a little small so if you have lots to hang up that might be an issue. The bathroom was amazing. A fantastic rainfall shower. Bed was amazing. Great night sleep in it. Parking itself is quite expensive in downtown Calgary. We did the valet parking which is $40. But full credit to the front desk staff who upgraded us to a special weekend rate that included free valet parking for an extra $10 (plus some extra feature that we probably didn't use of course). I believe the rate included continental breakfast however we didn't use it as we had breakfast at a nearby diner. There is a great restaurant called Charcut on the main floor. Didn't eat there this time but have in the past - it's worth checking out if you're staying at the hotel. Only downside was the view from the hotel... Looking directly into the office next door made for a very dark room. Not a big deal though since we weren't staying here for the view!

Yelp
Best hotel I've ever stayed in! My family stayed here after moving, we were blown away immediately after walking in. The location is fantastic, there are shops and restaurants within close proximity. The rooms are incredible. Extremely clean, refreshing, modern, the list goes on! The shower in the bathroom was amazing, it was like a rainfall. The continential breakfast they have is also pretty good, with a wide variety of foods. The staff is great, very friendly and accommodating. It is quite expensive, but with everything that le Germain brings, it's worth it.

Yelp
The hotel is great. Rooms are large for a downtown location (in comparison to hotels in the U.S) and the customer service is commendable. The hotel is located in central downtown Calgary (oppsite the Calgary Tower) and is close to many restaurants and bars. Additionally, each room offers a Google Chromecast, which means you can stream whatever you desire and skip the ad filled cable channels (a small touch that I felt offers an additional later of customer service). As a first visit to Calgary, I am certain this is my hotel of choice for future visits.

Yelp
Great hotel! Stayed for a weekend with my fiance. Decided that we will def be back! They have a wonderful weekend rate that includes valet parking, late check out and breakfast. Amazing location, near the mall and all the good restaurants. :)

Yelp
This place is incredible!! The rooms are beautiful! The location is excellent. The customer service is top notch! It's just amazing. Every year, I stay downtown for our annual teachers convention. This was my first year staying at this hotel. It has ruined the other places for me. This hotel is quieter. It includes a fresh continental breakfast. It's modern. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The shower is amazing. It's like you're showering in a warm rainforest with the shower head that it has haha. I can't say enough about this place. They even let us check out at 3:00 because the conference went later in the afternoon and we didn't want to carry around bags. They let us actually keep the room until then. They were happy to do it. The only thing is the price. It's a splurge, but with everything that is included, it's worth it. Lovely hotel!

Yelp
Definitely the best hotel to stay at in Calgary. The staff are always friendly, courteous and will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is happy. The most amazing thing though, is the rain shower and the most makeup-friendly lighting in the history of hotel bathrooms. Breakfast is complimentary and starts your day off right. The beds are soooo comfortable and honestly you don't even realize you're staying at a hotel. Waking up next to a nespresso machine is also something to look forward to. I have stayed at a lot of Le germain and alt hotels and this is definitely my favorite location out of all of them.

Yelp
* Nice option in downtown * This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The room design reminded me of my current favourite hotel in Hong Kong - the Hotel Icon. It had a similar feel with somewhat modern open architecture and lots of wooden walls. Service also had a similar feel with the staff being particularly young yet professional and very friendly. The room was nice and large with a walk in open concept closet, a comfy sitting chair, and a large desk. The washroom had a large walk-in shower and modern fixtures. If I were to give a little feedback for some touches to consider working on for the management: - Get rid of the $2.50 nespresso charge per pod in the room. That just seems like nickle and diming. Raise the price of the room by $2.50 a night instead. - Consider slightly brighter lighting in the hallways - they were depressing. I can only imagine what they feel like in the winter! - Get better bread and baked goods at the complimentary breakfast. The quality was noticeably poor compared to the rest of the spread which had very nice fresh strawberries, good quality yogurt, nice hot oatmeal, a nice selection of cheeses, a good ham, and decent coffee. - Figure out a way to get a few more hangers into that big closet. Considering how large it was the hanging space was poorly utilized with the lack of hangers and space to hang them. These are only small suggestions, as overall if I have to return to Calgary I would stay here again without a doubt.

Yelp
I can't even say how much I like this hotel. The rooms are ultra modern, the staff are warm and helpful. The location can't be beat - so close to pretty much everything downtown. My only complaints are - no one seems to be attending the bell desk so when you pull up to valet or come down to your vehicle, you're left standing around awkwardly until someone comes. There was only one housecoat in our hotel room so that was odd too but we didn't really have time to make much use of it especially since there is no pool. The fitness center is great. I don't fancy myself much of an athlete, but there seemed to be an ample selection of fitness equipment and space as well as a dry sauna in the locker rooms. The views from the fitness center are nice.

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars, 100 stars, 1000 stars, I think I would. Where to start? The felt wall/art behind the front desk, naturally. From that moment on I knew I loved it here. Upstairs to my room with it's gorgeous rainshower head and rubbery (non slip) rock tiles, it's peekaboo frosted glass window and a wall full of mirrors and you basically have the bathroom of my dreams. I have never been cleaner in all of my life, all because I just had to take advantage of that shower! Onto the rest of the room with it's awesome walk-in closet (sans door), complete with a built in shelf to rest your luggage on. Why doesn't every hotel have this? The hidden bank of outlets next to the desk, the view of downtown Calgary, the purple love seat at the foot of the bed. Yes I said purple. It was love at first sit. And then, there's the bed. I haven't slept this well in ages. The heavy blankets are magically not too warm and the linens make my sheets at home feel like rags. I may or may not have told the front desk that I wanted to move in, permanently. There's just something about Le Germain, because somehow, it inspired me enough to get off my butt and into the gym twice in two days. Perhaps it was the sweeping views of downtown from the top floor gym that did it for me. I was lucky enough to have a weekend deal that came with complimentary breakfast on the 2nd floor. But honestly, I think I would have paid for it. It was quite a spread: a full brimming bowl of strawberries, another with mixed seasonal fruits, hard boiled eggs, an assortment of cheeses, plus the usual suspects: bagels, pastries, bread, cereal etc. Speciality coffees are available by request. Needless to say, I'm one helluva fan of Le Germain. The only question I have now, when can I come back?

Yelp
Wowza. I could get used to living like this. (But really, can someone arrange so that I live like this?) There initially was a mix up with my reservation on the end of the hotel, and for about 12 hours I thought I wasn't going to have a place to stay in Calgary. Luckily my travel agent worked her magic, and they did end up "finding" me a room, when they previously said they were totally full. Cold cold floors in the bathroom were my only other complaint. I considered laying my towels down on the floor to protect the tootsies, but decided that was silly and wasteful. I also didn't like that they had nespresso in the rooms that you had to pay $2.50 for each coffee. They serve a great breakfast on the 2nd floor. No eggs or bacon, but oatmeal, some fruit, pastries, cereal and yogurt. It was enough to get me going. (Side note, I'm glad I put on 'real' clothing to go down to breakfast, I was dining with a room full of suits! I had the Globe delivered to my room, so brought it down with me, and would read the paper while someone brought me a soy latte. REALLY. CAN I LIVE LIKE THIS? They have a gym, which is always wanted when traveling for business. It's not big, but not that many people seem to use it, so it wasn't a problem. It's full of light, and has TV's attached to the cardio machines! (My favourite part of traveling for work is that I get to watch crappy reality TV while sweating.) Free internet is also available for those glued to their laptops. Also, there word on the co-worker street was that a rapper was staying there when we were. It was unclear which rapper it was, but they seemed to have an entourage, and that is impressive enough. Beautiful hotel, excellent service. Good enough for rappers. As long as they don't jack their prices, I'll be back. (Work doesn't let me book the most expensive hotel.)

Yelp
Hotel Le Germain is as good as it gets when it comes to location, service, and quality. Yes, it's pricey, but you're paying for high quality furnishings, finishes, and service. We stayed there one night and wound up in a corner room facing the Calgary Tower. After having stayed in an insanely noisy hotel the two previous nights, this room was dead silent in comparison. You could not hear noises from the hallway or any neighbouring rooms, which was blessed. The bathroom had a wonderful rain shower head, and products in large containers, which was very nice as you could get the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel out and not worry about not having enough product for two people to share. Service here was swift, hardly a wait when you called the front desk to ask for additional towels or other amenities. They have also done away with paper "do not disturb/clean now" signs. Instead, you flick a switch on the wall, activating a small red or green light outside your door, indicating to staff whether it's safe to enter or not. The staff here are friendly and upgraded us to a luxury room after hearing our woeful tale of sleepless nights at another hotel. In the morning when we checked out, they even remembered us and asked whether or not we were finally able to get some sleep. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

Yelp
Are you freaking kidding me? This place deserves more than 5 stars! This is honestly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at in all my worldly travels (over 40 countries!) Big thanks to my employer for putting me up here. I should be spending my few days in Calgary exploring the city, but instead I'm camped out inside Le Germain because the room and facilities are simply so amazing that I can't leave. The room is fairly huge, I have a Deluxe King room. There is a walk in closet, large bathroom with amazing walk in shower and huge sink, and the main room has a kind bed, comfy purple chaise lounge, workspace area, flatscreen 50" tv mounted to the wall and all sorts of other bells and whistles. The clincher for me was when I visited the gym facilities here. I am a bit of a fitness buff and I almost started crying tears of joy when I found a room decked out with kettlebells, TRX and a heavy bag. There's also a large cardio and free weights room with all the normal fitness stuff. The gym is open 24 hours too. The king bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get up this morning. The hotel reception and lobby is exquisite. The staff here is very friendly and walks you through all the amenities. Everything in this hotel is incredibly sexy, would make an amazing romantic weekend getaway.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was so posh and ALL the staff were friendly and helpful. The location put us in the center of all desirable sights and restaurants. If we are back in Calgary I know where we will be staying.

Yelp
I was traveling with my fiance and we wanted to stay in a really nice hotel. We had looked at the Le Germain website and thought it looked amazing. It certainly didn't disappoint. I originally booked a deluxe room, but to our surprise and joy we were told we had been upgraded to the luxury room upon checking in. The front desk staff were great. Very professional and personable. Once we got to the room our jaws dropped. We walked around looking at all the amazing details of the room. I could go on and on. It has a clean modern look which we both love. All the little details just made the stay so memorable. Espresso, chocolates, bath robes.. the list is long. The best feature of the luxury room is the soaker tub. One of the coolest features I have ever seen is how the tub fills. From the ceiling!! It scared the heck out of us at first, but just had to laugh at how neat that was. My fiance was in heaven in that bathroom. Pretty much our dream bathroom. There are a number of great restaurants around the hotel. We decided to have dinner and drinks at Milestones which is less than a block from the main entrance. If there was any downside to the hotel, its the parking. It is quite expensive, even for the self park. $31 for roughly 16 hours parking. But its downtown, so its to be expected. I can see why this hotel is ranked #1. Easily beats any other hotel in Calgary. Great place for a relaxing romantic getaway in the city.

Yelp
So I booked this hotel for my husband and I to celebrate our fifth year anniversary and boy did we make a really good choice. We booked the Luxury King with bath and shower room and it did not disappoint. The size of the room itself will make you go wow - the entire room is the same size as most city condo units. The bathroom is clean and massive! I love that the tub can be filled by a water outlet from the ceiling! The shower area is a good size and is accompanied by probably the largest shower head I have ever seen. No complains about the closet as its space was more than sufficient for two people. The bed, the pillows, the sheets all contributed to the best sleep I`ve had in weeks! I wish I can take those pillows home! I wish they can put in more lighting as the room felt a little dark even when we set the lights to "ALL ON". We got to the hotel at 3:10 and were told that our room still won`t be ready for another 40 minutes. They offered to keep our luggage and wait out the 40 minutes but when I asked twice why the room wasn`t ready past the check-in time, we were finally offered the same room type but different room number. So why were told to wait when there's actually a room available? I have no idea. Before we were handed our keys, the receptionist informed us that breakfast is on the second floor. I was surprised about this as it specifically said online that our package includes "Deluxe continental breakfast in bed" so I asked him to check. He looked at his computer and told me that the Ultimate Spa package does not include breakfast in bed. I did not feel like arguing at that point so I let it go but I hope they do better at syncing their package inclusions to avoid surprises. Despite the check-in issue, the confusion about package inclusions, and a not-so-friendly server during breakfast, our weekend at Hotel Le Germain was still a pleasant one. It has its minor flaws here and there but overall it provides relaxing, comfortable rooms and mostly good service which makes it one of the best hotels in Calgary.

Yelp
Omg what a beautiful hotel and room! It was a great experience- the staff, service- on point. I can always tell a great hotel when you find robes and an umbrella in your room. Everything is very chic, modern and comfortable. I want to live there. The complimentary breakfast is continental- you pay extra for eggs and meat. A fully stocked fridge- iron and board hidden- rainfall shower- vanity mirror with well lit lights- a comfy sofa in room and walk in closet. If you want to impress anyone- stay here

Yelp
If you read apartment therapy religiously like me, then book this place. Who knew wood wall panels could be so sexy..... The lighting is exquisitely designed as well, atmospherically dim yet still functional. And yes walk in closet, so functional in Calgary, where you really need a place to hang your coats and hide your wet boots..... Continental breakfast was so stylish you have to dress up for, don't say I didn't warn ya. Le creuset pot for oatmeal kind of stylish..... And the two bux nespresso in your room? Totally worth it, it's actually addictive. Cream is in the fridge.

Yelp
Great hotel, comfortable beds, so much space in the rooms. Great bath with also a lot of space. Had a special deal for the valet parking for the weekend (20 instead of 40$). Great service also! Abd i had a wonderful massage at the Santé Spa. Probably one of the best i've ever had. Ask for Tony!

Yelp
I cant say enough praises about the staff at this hotel. Abigail was awesome she made our trip so much easier with our kids. The hotel is very chic, modern etc but they welcomed us with our young children and appointed our room with an actual crib (not the usual flimsy pack and play), bottle warmer and bathtub. The room was a great size and location could not be beat. The breakfast was included and it was very good. The restaurant Char Cut was so good we ate there twice. We were able to walk around in downtown and a close drive to many other activities. They even arranged a great sitter for us for a date night. Pros-EVERYTHING..service, room size, room amenities, location, decor Cons- If I had to be picky and choose wish they had an indoor or outdoor pool and parking was more than our car rental per day. Stay here..you wont regret it.

Yelp
By far one of the nicest places we've ever experienced. The hubby and I stayed at the Germain for our wedding anniversary weekend in October two years ago, and I think of going back on a weekly basis! Helpful front desk and cleaning staff. I recall one day we turned on the "housekeeping light" and when we opened the door to leave for the day housekeeping was standing outside with a big smile, ready and waiting for us to get out of her way. The hotel restaurant didn't have any vegetarian options on their room service menu, however when we called down to see if they could accommodate our tastes they jumped at the opportunity and provided us with the most delicious vegetarian pasta dish I've ever indulged in. I truly wish I could rank this hotel with more than 5 stars!

Yelp
Fantastic hotel. Great hotel staff, gorgeous room. The only thing I wish I knew was that there wasn't a bathtub in our room, I thought there would be but the shower was amazing and made up for it. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Yelp
Customer service was friendly & professional from every single person whose path we crossed. From the valet to front desk to restaurant to employees you see around, everyone was really terrific. Exceptional customer service. Hotel decor and room itself, so modern and beautiful and clean! Absolutely Loved this place and will highly recommend!!

Yelp
Beautiful place, lovely staff, awesome room!! After a terrible day at airports with delays and rerouting, my husband and I were so thankful for this amazing room with a huge bathroom and lots of storage and shelves to put our stuff. My husband who can be very picky wished we were staying longer! Our only disappointment was that we got in too late to enjoy the restaurants and night life that is just around the corner. Neat downtown location. Loved it!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I have been together for 6 months now so we wanted to go out for a romantic weekend get away. I had seen pictures of Hotel Le Germain in the past and I have always wanted to stay there. The modern concept of the building and every room is precisely the style that I've come to love. When we arrived at the hotel I had checked in at the front desk and to my surprise I had purchased the package from expedia which came with complimentary valet parking. Due to the valet service coming as a surprise to me I later googled "Valet etiquette" in the room haha. We only needed our car twice during our stay and with a few minutes of google research I found that a $5 tip to the driver when they fetch your car is a good sized tip for the calibre of hotel we were at. This was fine for me as valet service is $40 a day without the deal I had gotten. The woman who was assisting us was more than helpful and offered to have our luggage taken up to the room, but I had declined because we didn't have very much with us. The package we got came with the Superior Room with 1 King bed, complimentary breakfast, free wifi and free parking. The room was exactly what I expected. It was very spacious coming with a large walk in closet, a separate sitting area, a huge and very modern bathroom and a very comfortable king sized bed. Everything in the suite was of very high quality, from the bed linens, to the bathrobes, to the Molton Brown shampoo and conditioner in the shower stall (check out my pics for a better look). The hotel is also situated in a great location with Stephen Ave directly to the north of the hotel and right across the street, to the south is the Calgary tower. We also took advantage of the fitness facility which is located at the top of the building. It had the best views and had all the equipment that any one can ever need to workout. By far the best hotel gym I have ever been to. In the morning we went down to the second floor for some breakfast. Everything was fresh and tasty for a great start to the day. A word of advice if you stay here.. Make reservations at Charcut, located at the base of the hotel. I forgot to make reservations so we weren't able to eat there, but it's probably worth a try (ever though it has gotten mixed reviews on yelp lol). There was one little qualm I had. Upon checking out, the young gentleman at the front desk didn't seem too thrilled about his job and didn't really ask how our stay was. It probably stood out more so because everyone up until that point was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, this has become my favorite hotel and I'm still giving it 5 stars lol. I would recommend it to everyone!

Yelp
What A Beautiful Hotel! The staff was great and the rooms are really fantastic. The design is very modern. We live in Calgary and used it as a 'staycation' and we weren't disappointed.

Yelp
Impeccable hotel. Every detail was considered and it all is very stylistically cohesive. The quality of the finishes in the room were all high-end, unlike a lot of boutique hotels that will merely slap some black paint up on the walls. All hotels in Calgary are absurdly expensive, but this one is justifiably so.

Yelp
Modern hotel with great service. Enjoyed the room very much. High ceilings and a huge bathroom! Only downside was that my fiancé love the bathroom so much she seemed to take twice as long to get ready.;) Fitness centre is nice as well.

Yelp
Beautiful and modern. The room was spacious, the bathroom was amazing. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I forgot a phone cord and they were at my door in minutes with one for me. The king size bed was super comfortable and I had a great sleep.
