On the Grid : Le Grain de Riz

"Go here if you love friendly ladies who call everyone «ma chérie». Don't let the ultra-simple decor scare you. Get ready for a long wait (food usually takes a while to come out) because the end result is worth it. This is a no-frills, down-to-earth eatery that serves up some of the best vietnamese cuisine we’ve ever tasted in France." - Violaine & Jérémy

The owner is the sweetest and kindest person I have ever met! ❤️ It felt like I visited my granny - I was treated as her daughter or close relative 😅❤️ Pho was just amazing! Theb broth, noodles, meat - absolute delusiosness. She also treated us with something sweet - tasted like fried rice dough, sooooo good! 🤤 The place doesn't look fancy but feels like home ❤️

Super cosy one woman show 🤍 Her food is so tasty and balanced and all the ingredients feel extra fresh. Not the spot if you’re in a rush

Pro: - Very nice lady - free tap water - delicious sauce - free dessert Con: - small portions - plain rice was not available anymore?! - sticks not clean - meat was not soft and fresh - seemed like the food overall was reheated - very unclean and unhygienic interior. Overall: Really have my sencere doubts about hygiene here, therefore I can't recommend this restaurant.

You would never tell when you first see this place. But this is REAL PHO ladies and gentlemen The place is tiny yet crazy authentic, the lady not only fed me but also brought some extras for my dog😍😍. I am definitely coming back again for a Bo Bun

Small place, one just Vietnam boss working. So take time( take order, prepare food, pay etc) if you can have a time, i recommend. And food was nice, and boss is so kind. I really like a rice with 5meat.

Highly recommended. Fair price for a good food in a nice place. I had a Bo Bun + 3 ravioli for 14,50 + beer for 4,5. Really nice!

The higiene is really worrying. However, the owner made us have a good laugh : put the lids on the fish ourselves, gave us the terminal to pay ourselves. Food was decent. Overall, fun experience but that’s it.

Google
super authentic Vietnamese dishes served like you are in Vietnam hahaha. The woman who owns the restaurant is very sweet but she takes her time to cook the dishes after you order. Don't expect to receive your meal quickly. Very flavourful and tastes really homey soupe hu tieu 5/5

Yelp
Delicious, authentic. The pho soup was nice and sweet. The fried nem ran/cha gio were fantastic too. The waitress/owner was also very sweet and thoughtful... but it is definitely a whole in the wall. I would not come here for a romantic date. Price seems totally fine for Paris (though there apparently are Vietnamese restaurants in the same area that are minimally cheaper) Come here for a delicious meal without any expectations for ambiance.

Yelp
I came here recently after just having spent a few months living (and profusely eating!) in Vietnam so I had pretty high expectations. Absolutely everything about this place screams Vietnam. First, there's the loud, warm and welcoming Vietnamese lady who seems to do a bit of everything, cooks, serves, entertains customers. Then you have the teeny, tiny, cosy restaurant which has around four tables max (I wouldn't recommend coming here at a lunchtime/dinnertime rush hour if you're hungry) along with the slapdash vibe and makeshift-looking menu filled with typically Vietnamese dishes - unfortunately though, replaced with typically Parisian prices. And last, but not least, you have the truly authentic-tasting Vietnamese food served in generous portions. I would recommend getting the Bo Bun as it's fresh, filling and finger-licking good. The slapdash and, at times, questionably clean vibe aside, this restaurant is charming and authentic-tasting and truly offers a little piece of Southeast Asia's culinary delights in one of Paris' trendy districts. I'd definitely come here again and again.

Yelp
The kind of ridiculously small and mouthwatering place, any foody would love to know. Their bobun, rices and especially nems are to die for. More than that, the owner's kindness is overwhelming.

Yelp
One of the best Vietnamese chicken noodle soup I've ever had. The sweet sweet lady in here is also the best. Tried to give us free beer which we refused, so she gave us two free coffees instead and a little plate with a variety of sweet dishes. AMAZING.

Yelp
Legit authentic vietnamese pho tai! Absolutely delicious! Really friendly owner. Must try when in Paris!

Yelp
I loved eating here -- the vermicelli was delicious and the atmosphere was incredibly cozy, like you'd been invited to dine in someone's house. The proprietor is a lovely older Vietnamese grandma who doesn't speak much English but was incredibly patient with my broken French and very very friendly. Note that this place is cash only.

Yelp
As always, I looked what others on Yelp had to say about the place. I found some really good reviews and walked the few blocks from the hotel. It's a hole in the wall, but has great vibes and really good food. I got lucky and had a French couple that spoke good English help me out with my order. The owner lady speaks only Vietnamese and decent French - so I was told. The food they cooked tasted home made and the owner treat you like family. Really, really cool. Especially in Paris! If I'll be in the area again I will go back for more.

Yelp
What a Place! Or let's say What a Room! Cause this Thai Food Place runned by a very charming Thai Lady isn't bigger than 20m2! Kitchen, lunch counter and 3 tiny tables so sit. If you have time, passioned for food and orignial thai culture this is the right place for you! Choose between various delicious Thai dishes, all fresh homemade, each unique on its own. Get even better: prices are compared to Paris more than affordable

Yelp

Yelp
If you're looking for pho, look no further. The soupe pho de boeuf here is excellent! I found Le Grain de Riz through Yelp when I was badly craving pho. My experience with pho in Paris has been disappointing so far but I was very happy with Mme Chi's. It was authentic, fragrant and delicious, and it reminded me why I love this dish so much. Based on the food alone I would give it 5 stars, but the restaurant itself is poorly ventilated and cluttered - not a great ambiance! I left with my clothes smelling of the kitchen. Regardless, this is now my go-to for pho! The food was great and Mme Chi was so friendly she gave the boyfriend and me a small array of "cadeaux" - spring rolls, some sesame rice cake and a boule coco, all of which were also very tasty!
