Le Grand Bol(Belleville)

I had high expectations (several local people had raved about this place) and I wasn’t disappointed at all! I can confirm it’s not your usual run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant: the chef really knows his stuff and lets you experience truly excellent, well-balanced flavours. Even something as simple as the steamed ravioli has something special about it. Also, besides the meat dishes, there’s a great selection for pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans as well. And the service is very welcoming too. Location: little, simple and genuine. If I hadn’t already left Paris, I’d definitely go back. PS: The fish dish was a bit too much for me, but being able to take the leftovers home made my lunch the next day just as delightful!

Il y a des plats rarement vus dans les restaurants chinois - authentiques et surtout délicieux. Je recommande sans hésitation. A Chinese restaurant serving authentic, delicious dishes rarely seen elsewhere in other Parisian Chinese restaurants. An absolute must-go to place! A quick update for July 2025: the quality is still as good, the service remains friendly AND professional. Probably, the best Chinese restaurant in Paris (at least, I do not know a better one).

This restaurant deserves (at the time of my review) a well-earned 5 stars. Food offered in this quaint and clean spot is made on orders. Expect to wait for a bit. We strongly recommend the black rice and crab which is one the main of this restaurant. Authentic flavor and great serving staff: a true gem in this district already saturated with Asian cuisine.

Yum! Loved the spicy lamb dish, lamb ribs and gyoza as a starter. Had the beef and brocoli another time, also a favourite! It’s usually very busy, so try to come at time when it isn’t ;-)

Two standout dishes, the 'Porc braisé à la sauce "dongpo"' and 'Fruits de mer vapeur de vermicelles,' captured our hearts with their bold flavors and impeccable execution. Each bite was a symphony of taste, transporting us to the streets of China. What truly set Le Grand Bol apart was not just the food, but the warm hospitality extended by the boss and staff. They never rushing us even a queue outside waiting for the table . We're already planning our next visit, eager to explore more of their enticing menu offerings. A word to the wise: reservations are a must for larger groups, or arrive promptly at 7 to beat the rush. Le Grand Bol comes highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable dining experience in Paris.
