Le Grand Café des Négociants

One of our best meals in Lyon. Be sure to order the Ris de Veau with its delicious cream sauce and gratin on the side. Desert of four mini petits fours was excellent as well. We had to ask for bread that so glad we did - the bread was top notch

Great location, sitting outside is perfect for people watching and soaking in Lyon over drinks and a bite. Drink and food reasonably priced; cheese plate was delicious and fresh. Interiors really lovely, would be lovely for a nice dinner. Overall friendly staff and good service.

Went here twice because I wanted to try the pistachio sausage, and was not disappointed. Of course, this is a French brasserie and service is a little hit and miss, but they are friendly and the dining atmosphere is warm and inviting.

Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic ambience! This was recommended by my hotel as a great place to go for dinner in Lyon. It did not disappoint. Had escargot appetizer. It was so delicious. Salad Lyonaise yum! A fish dish and amazing glass of white wine recommended by the waiter. Highly recommended great place.

Great place. Good food. One of the only places that stays open all afternoon. Because other places closes at 14hs. French realy does not like to work. This place is a must go. Fois Gras steak Tartar and the truffled paste were amazing. Congrats to the team.

I’ve had the chance to visit Le Grand Café des Négociants twice—once for a coffee break and another time for breakfast. My breakfast experience was wonderful. The morning ambiance was peaceful, not crowded, and everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. The only downside was the orange juice, which I found overly bitter. Aside from that, everything was incredible, from the flavors to the quality of the dishes. As for the coffee break, while the coffee itself was enjoyable, I was a bit disappointed with the selection of sweets included in the Café Gourmand. Considering how elegant and refined this place is, I expected something more special. The restaurant’s charm lies in its décor and presentation—it feels like stepping into a piece of history. Overall, it’s a lovely spot, especially for breakfast.

The history of this restaurant is more than a hundred years old. The ambiance of those times is felt in every element of the interior. Dishes are exquisite, wines are excellent, prices are high. An interesting fact about staff - the waitress for about 40 years basically did not speak English, but when she received a 20% tip she immediately remembered the entire vocabulary of English words 😂

A beautiful historic cafe in the old center of Lyon with a very authentic atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, giving you maximum attention and care. Very good and quality food and quality wine. Can only recommend and enjoy the visit.
