I stayed 2 nights at the grand hotel and I had a good experience.||The rooms were refurbished not too long ago and were clean, quite spacious. The bedding was good, the mattress super comfortable.|The only down for me was the room temperature was 25 degrees. The heat controls were not working properly. I tried to bring it down to 19 and it was not doing it. I alerted the front desk before i went out and they said they'd monitor it . By the time I came back hours later it was still 25 degrees, so i struggled to sleep.|My room faced rue de la Republique, but as it's closed to traffic, there was not much noise...I could just hear a few people speaking "in the distance", the double glazing did its job. The noise realy was not a problem and I am a light sleeper.|The hotel is bang in the town centre and a minute walk to the Tramway which will take you to the Station. Nearby (ie 1mn walk) you'll find a Starbucks, a Croissanterie if you want a coffee and pastries, and a MONOPRIX for your toiletries and other bits, a pharmacy, a sushi take away. A bit further you'll find a carrefour City (4mn walk) and lots and lots of clothes shops, restaurants, bars etc|Breakfast comes with 2 options: €12 for pastries and coffee, of €21 for the breakfast buffet. ||Whilst the room has a coffee machine and a couple of coffee pods, I would have liked to have some tea......|The room had a large screen TV, USB ports for charging phones etc, a small desk and shelves for your handbag etc, a mini bar, a safe, and storage space for your clothing.|Towels were fresh and soft|Shower pressure is more than enough and you have an overhead shower head and a handheld shower head. Shampoo and shower gel are complimentary, as well as soap and body cream by the sink.|Blackout curtains are good, I was able to have a nap late aternoon without the light disturbing me (nor the street hubbub).||Overall, I am pleased with my stay and will come back.
