Google
The best croissant I’ve ever had in Paris! 😍🥐 Buttery, flaky, and fresh — a true delight. This little gem is clearly loved by locals, as we saw plenty popping in while we were there. Highly recommend!

Google
My favorite bakery in Paris! They offer a diverse selection of savory and sweet products. The traditional baguette had great texture as well as flavor. The pain au chocolate had a nice ratio of chocolate. The lemon eclair was excellent, although I think the pistachio eclair could have used a bit more flavor. For savory I got olive and cheese bread, which is my personal favorite, as well as a cheese tomato bread. I went three times in total, and lines were never longer than 15-20 minutes, but well worth the wait.

Google
This chocolate pastry is out of this world! If you are on a hunt for an amazing pain au chocolat but always wished if they could have more chocolate in it, then this is the one for you! No custard like a pain suisse, just loaded with delicious studs of chocolate and enveloped in the crispy, buttery and flaky exterior! 10/10!!

Rylan Gordon

Google
Best bakery I’ve been to in Paris! Their pastries are phenomenal. The classic croissant and the pain au chocolat were so flakey and buttery. The mozzarella tomato pastry we got was the perfect savory breakfast, with fresh tomatoes and mozz. Not to mention this place is tucked back in a beautiful area with endless cute streets to wander. Cannot recommend it enough!

Google
We came in this lovely bakery with a group of English students from Newcastle on Saturday 5th of July. The 2 ladies in charge of the service were so nice and so patient with our students. The food was gorgeous and as I already stated, the staff were amazing, especially when someone came in to complain that the queue was too long and they were not willing to wait so long for their baguette. The staff dealt with this woman with such professionalism and again patience because it was busy but if you want something good, then, good things come to those who wait!! Merci encore!!

Google
Worth Trying A fairly average experience. Nothing too unique within the store and prices above par. Pain au chocolate - par, not buttery, but not dry. Much more bready than average, so it's a heavier bite. Good structure.

Google
A really good bakery. Even though it’s very popular and quite touristy, it still has kept its standards and offers great pastries. The pain au chocolat is particularly good as well as the Petits pains suisses aux pépites de chocolat.

Google
We stopped by for some quick snacks and picks one savoury (pain with mozzarella and tomatoes) and one sweet (pain aux raisins) pastry. We liked them both enough. Overal Paris bakery prices.

Yelp
While I passed many bakeries on the walk through Montmartre, I am glad I stopped in at Le Grenier á Pain. Upon entering the bakery, I was greeted by the aroma of butter and the sight of neat rows of fresh pastries. I really wanted to try one of everything, but I was determined to try the pain au chocolat, a personal favorite. Le Grenier a Pain's pain au chocolat was much larger and heartier than others I've tried yet retained its buttery-flakiness without feeling too heavy. I really enjoyed the pillowy texture of the pain au chocolat, which included a generous amount of chocolate folded inside. Paired with a cafe au lait, I was in heaven. The bakery is small yet inviting, and there was no seating indoors or outdoors. While I was hoping to enjoy my pastry on-the-go, it started pouring outside, so I was forced to huddle underneath the awning while I consumed my pain au chocolat. While I'd definitley come back for another pain au chocolat, I would also want to sample their savory pastries on my next visit.

Yelp
Came here right about 15 minutes after they opened and unfortunately they were still taking things out to set up so not everything was out. Was looking forward to something with pistachio but there were none. The staff were all very nice and helped us right when we walked in. Croissant (3.9/5)- light and airy with a great outer crunch. Texture wise it was perfect but I do personally like my croissants slightly more buttery Ham and cheese sandwich (5/5)- the whole walk back to my hotel consisted of me thinking about this decadent sandwich. The saltiness of the ham and creaminess of the cheese together made for the best combo. Who would've thought something so simple could be this great! Raspberry mascarpone eclair (3.3/5)- light and fluffy with a nutty base. Texture of the base wasn't what I expected and was not much to my liking. Overall rating would be a 4.5.

Yelp
- Locale Destination - It's on Rue des Abbesses and Rue Audran, in Montmartre, nearby all the tourist spots. Ambiance: cozy, small Menu: pastries looked good. Coffee Service: friendly Quality: solid Price: € - Gluttony Expedition - Baguette: crispy outside, inside tender, very solid quality baguette! Chocolate croissant: not overly buttery nor too flaky, airy, a bit smaller size, not bad. - Conqueror's Deduction - Solid 4.5 stars. I've had a better one, but good solid quality compared to others in Paris. I definitely come back.

Yelp
Astoundingly good bakery in Montmartre just downhill from Sacre Couer. It was diagonally across the street from the cafe where we stopped for breakfast. There was a large line stretching out into the street, so we went for take-home to bring back to the hotel for later. It's quaint with no tables but a beautiful setting, helpful counter staff and the best croissants I've ever tasted,

Yelp
The place is amazing. Great choices of dessert and breads. No sitting but worth a visit to pick up some stuff. Only see the photos

Yelp
If I were sitting at a café in Montmartre with a group of seven people, each of them would be able to proclaim who has the best croissant, baguette, or overall experience in Paris. While they can argue about it, I have already made my decision. Le Grenier a Paris is my absolute favorite boulangerie for all things bread as well as some pastries. I invite some open discussion on this topic but be prepared to bring the receipts. I visited Le Grenier a Paris each day I was in Paris and each day, they did not disappoint. The service is phenomenal and the baguettes, pain au chocolat, croissants, and the ficelles are in my opinion the best in Paris. The combination of crunchiness, flakiness, and softness with pillowing essence with their croissants and pain au chocolats separates Le Grenier a Paris from the competition. I could eat my weight in Ficelle d'Olives. These very narrow, thin twisty baguettes have black olives and some cheese baked into them. Goodness, they are so delicious. The service from the team behind the counter was friendly and super-efficient, they do not need to take notes, as they can memorize the number of croissants, pain au chocolat, pain du raisin, and any other pastries you made. TIP: On the day of departure, I purchased three croissants, three pans au chocolat, three ficelles, and a pain au raisin. Not only did everything make it through the airport in my bag but the remaining breads were still amazing more than 24 hours later when we presented them to our kids first for their first taste. The ingredients are just that much better than what is found in the US. NOTE: During my stay in Paris, I visited Eric Keyser, Le Pain Quotient, and several other highly-rated boulangeries in Paris.

Yelp
It said that it was one of best croissant in Paris. I only had two croissants in Paris and they both good. It was flaky and buttery. The another pastry was ok. It has peach. Peach was good but without peach mixed in the bite, it was just ok. Service was good.

Yelp
Looks good and smells good. We grabbed a fresh baguette, mixed nut and dried fruit bread, strawberries pastry, original and pistachio madeleine. Never tried the fresh pistachio madeleine before. It's tasted like a firm small sponge cake, not too sweet. Yum!!! Fresh baguette is the best choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You don't need to put anything on it. You still can taste their own baguette flavor, crispy outside and soft inside. You can not stop eating it. It's very tasty. :)

Yelp
One of the more highly decorated bakeries in Montmatre and very busy with locals. Came here in late afternoon and got a croque monsieur and whole grain mini baguette. Both very delicious. Will have to come here next time for their top-rated baguette and try some other specialties. Very convenient location on the main street and fast & friendly service.

Sabrina A.

Yelp
I got ham and cheese in a baguette and it was so fresh. I did feel like it was missing something to make it the best I've ever had. The eclair was also amazing. The staff weren't that friendly but I expected that as an American in France.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
This chocolate eclair was one of the best places that i ate at. The pastry was perfectly crispy and soft and the cream was rich but not overwhelming.
google avatar

Scott D.

Yelp
Ham, Cheese, and butter sandwich were very good, Croissant and Pain de Chocolat were pretty good too, but the sweet items including the chocolate eclair, raspberry eclair, and lemon tarte weren't on par with others I've had around France.

Yelp
Buttery flaky goodness ! We bought our very first, highly anticipated croissant in Paris from here and loved it. Super affordable at 1.2 €. Tip is to head here early in the morning when there is no wait. Line was out the door when we passed by it in the afternoon. This cafe is located in the artistic neighborhood, Montmartre, where there is plenty to explore. So grab your croissant and head down the cobbled charming hilly streets of the 18th arrondissement :)

Yelp
"I'll come 'round sometime and get that squeak out of your door." - Roux (Johnny Depp in Chocolat) Bonjour lovers! Le Granier á Pain can be best described as a true Parisian Café located in historic Montmartre. Be prepared to speak French or if you're crafty enough with international hand signs you should be fine. I was steered here after Benjamin F. suggested how the croissants are the best. Others describe the croissants and bougette as delicious, divine, from the heavens, so damn good! So of course me being "Mr. Croissant Connoisseur" it was a done deal. I arrive in the historic Montmartre on a somewhat cloudy day. As I wanderlust the eclectic neighborhood, filled with boutiques and small cafés, I couldn't help imagine how French icon Dalida used to stroll these cobbled streets. Pablo Picasso too. And of course "that" croissant was on my mind and tummy. I find Le Granier á Pain tucked away on 38 rue des Abbesses and immediately like the quaintness of it all. It felt like I was stepping back into time. The door handle quirky AF so make sure you turn and push it or you'll look like an annoying tourist out there. Trust lol. "Bonjour Monsieur" as I walked in. I grab a seat in the corner and then order at the counter. The Parisian barista, artsy, young, about 5' 9", Joan Jett brunette with Betty Davis eyes, a high ponytail, dressed all in black, okay, okay I'm getting weird here lol, but damn she was cute:3 I order a chocolate croissant and a buttery croissant, I order a café latté. I sit and admire the collection of knickknacks on the walls... It brought a smile to my face. The local regulars at the counter all speaking French and just enjoying the moment. My café latté and warm croissants arrive. The moment of truth. What is it about a café latté in Paris that makes it so perfect? It's true. My first bite into the buttery croissant was flaky and melted in my mouth. The chocolate croissant turned me into Roux in the movie Chocolat.. Oui, oui that dreamy mmm... In the end, I highly recommend Le Granier á Pain in the Montmartre of Paris. It's that true European experience that will forever live in you. For me, it's hard to say if it was the best croissant ever, since I had so many delicious ones across Paris... but she was perfect... "Une femme est plus belle que le monde où je vis, et je ferme les yeux." And so I close my eyes... mmm...

Yelp
As one wanders through the spidery array of cobbled stone streets of the historic, quaint Montmartre, imagine your dilemma as you amble past the a countless number of colorful café and boulangerie. Look no further, as this boulangerie, the two time winner of the "Best Baguette" in all of Paris, possesses many a high quality, not to mention, delectable bread and baked good. As I ogled at the display window and voiced the requisite "Bonjour!" to the ever attentive worker, imagine my plight attempting to figure out just what to get at noon with such an array of products on display! We ordered a baguette sandwich with chicken and a couple of croissants for 1,20€. *Insert hyperbolic expression here! The croissant though was a true, TRUE joy with that rich French butter carefully encased within each flaky layer of the croissant. It's supposedly unflattering to eat while walking, but how can one resist!? So, DO grab your croissant while meandering through the streets of Montmartre in the 18th.

Yelp
This is honestly probably THE best boulangerie that we tried in central Paris. We got there early in the morning (and there was already a line!) so everything was freshly prepared. Let me tell you, the fragrant aroma of FRESH BAKED goodies wafting out from the store is unreal. Literally everything we ordered was fresh and delicious - from the chicken and tomato baguette sandwich, petite tomato mozzarella pastry, plain croissants, pain au chocolate etc. The staff heats up the pastries for you so you can enjoy them piping hot. We wish we could grab pastries from here every day and will absolutely be back again on our next trip to Paris.

Yelp
I bought a croissant and a Millefeuille Vanilla from this bakery. The croissant was large and tasty. The Napoleon was so good. There are many bakeries in the area. This is one of the best.

Yelp
Le Grenier a Pain is a short walk near the bottom of the hill from Sacre Coeur. Out of the 3 boulangerie's (bakery's) that I tried in Paris, this was the best! It consistently has a line out the door, and the 2 registers where one pays, has coin machines that dispense change. Baguette (1.10 euro) - The baguette here was rated the best in all of Paris, so I definitely had to order it. The outer layer was crispy, while the inside was soft. It definitely lived up to the hype! Chocolate Croissant (don't remember the exact pricing, but it was reasonable) - Compared to the other chocolate croissant's I tried in Paris, this had a lot more chocolate in it. The croissant itself was so buttery and flaky and was definitely better than the others that I tried. Overall, I can see why this boulangerie is so popular with the locals. Everything tastes so good here! The pastries looked incredible in the display case as well, and I'm a little bummed I didn't get a chance to try some of those as well. This location accepts credit cards.
google avatar

Nicki S.

Yelp
There's a line out the door for a reason at this place. It is by far the best croissant I had in paris, and really anywhere in the world for that matter. Just a short walk up the hill from the Moulin Rouge or down from the Sacre Coeur, it's easily accessible from a lot of great sites you may be seeing in Montmartre. They've won awards for their croissants and it's obvious why once you try one. Soft and warm with flaky edges that just made the perfect mess with every bite crumbling below you. The buttery flavor is perfect. If you try it be sure to get it warm and fresh so you can enjoy the perfection!

Yelp
Le Grenier à Pain was our local bakery when we stayed in Paris for a few days on our recent honeymoon. This bakery has a few locations around the city and some International locations as well. This particular location is near the Sacred Heart Cathedral in the Montmartre district of Paris. We made it a morning routine to walk here first thing in the morning to buy croissants! Since we were staying nearby but just far enough, the 10 minute walk up and down the hill increased our appetite. My wife would order a croissant and I had a pain au chocolat everyday, and we also had madeleines, financiers, and cookies over time. Everything we ate here was amazing, the croissants were so buttery and flakey, and their madeleines are wonderful! We had pistachio madeleines one morning, and I still dream about it! We discovered financiers, which are like super moist rectangular madeleines. These things are amazing, come here and eat lots of tasty carbs!
google avatar

Diamondz W.

Yelp
Croissants were great, but definitely were not the best that I tried in Paris. The bakery is in the lovely area of Mont Marte. There were plenty of locals there.
google avatar

Christina S.

Yelp
My mission was to eat croissants for breakfast every day while in Paris, and this place has the best one. It was the croissant with chocolate inside. A very small amount of chocolate, which was just the right touch to give the pastry a slightly different touch. The croissant had amazing texture... buttery, flakey, crunchy, and so fresh. There are delicious croissants at other places too, but make sure this is one of them.

Yelp
We were passing by and decided to go here because the sandwiches looked delicious and the lady said that we can eat in as they are an actual restaurant, but that the menus were not in English but very easy to understand, they weren't. We went to the top floor of the place and we really didn't know what to order so we used google translate to help a little and we finally decided and ordered duck and steak meals. The steak came with fries an expresso and an apple tart. We got our meals after about 30 minutes and the duck was good, not great, just good. The potatoes that came with the duck were delicious. On the other hand, the steak was not really a steak but a piece of burger patty that seemed stiff, flavorless a bit, but the fries were great, I guess they are good with potatoes. I did have to ask for ketchup as I cannot eat papas sin catsup. Then, we were done, and waited and waited, and waited for about 40 minutes until everybody eating left and we were left alone and the waiter never came back. Suddenly a new waitress passed by and I had to tell her, I do not know French, but I told her somehow, that the other waitress left without serving me the expresso and apple tart that came with my meal. After 15 minutes that new waitress brought it in, we ate it and right after we got up the lights were shut, like we were the last ones in town. It was really awkward and we felt forgotten. I would not go back, the food was mediocre, the service was terrible... but we still bought some macarons on our way out, just to get a kick of things and take a bit of their time.

Yelp
What's not to love! Breads & croissants! Yum!! They warmed it up upon my request. I wish there was more seating though.
google avatar

Irene C.

Yelp
This is by far the BEST bakery in Paris. The croissants are perfectly crispy on the edges and to DIE FOR. The citrus madelines were amazing, I also got their hazelnut eclair, and their pear chocolate tarte (forget the name but see the pic). They were absolute perfection- not too sweet! I came back 3x during my stay in Paris. The employees are friendly and can speak some english which is a plus!
google avatar

Jana C.

Yelp
Fresh as can be. Like Cherrier, this bakery is closed on Wednesdays. Put your money into the two parking meter looking machines. Oh so easy and moves the queues along. Also keeps the cashiers' hands a lot cleaner!
google avatar

Yelp
A year later and still some of the most epic croissants I've ever had! These flaky, buttery pieces of heaven are so darn delicious and ring in at a price of 1,10 euro. Deal! Also, Le Grenier is located in a fun little neighborhood, Montemare. There are plenty of boutiques, restaurants and other gems in this area so grab a couple of pastries and take a stroll. The baguettes are also noted for being some of the best in Paris too! So. Damn. Good.
google avatar

Paulo M.

Yelp

Yelp
Best baguette in Paris? Well, it's been awarded 1st-prize multiple years by the "Best Baguette in Paris" competition (Concours de la meilleure baguette de Paris). Best baguette I've ever eaten? Oui! ... Absolument! La meilleure baguette que j'ai jamais mangée! Le Grenier à Pain has a line for a reason ... and "La Baguette de tradition" is that reason. Their traditional French Baguette is a divine mastery of ... * Taste: crispy crust with chewy center * Holiness: hallmark honeycombing * Aroma: fragrance of freshness * Appearance: beautiful bronze bread * Baking skill: eat today what was baked today As we strolled from the Abbesses Paris Métro station towards Le Grenier à Pain, we passed more than one happy local carrying 2, 3, or more fresh loaves ... each encounter causing me to quicken my pace ... dear God, don't be sold out ... to wait in the 20-minute line out the door. There are multiple locations of Le Grenier à Pain, but this is the legendary small bakery in Les Abbesses village (in the artsy Montmartre district) where fabled baker Djibril Bodian works his magic. In 2010, the Senegal-born master was named best artisan baker in Paris and immediately declared the official supplier of breads for the Élysée Palace. Nearly as impressive as the baguettes were the light, flaky, and buttery croissants. We ate them almost as fast as the baguette. If you love French carbs, consider the croissant and baguette from Le Grenier à Pain as the best.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Definitely the best croissants I had in Paris! The Pan a Chocolate was especially delicious and it is a must! The bread was so flaky and light and had the perfect amount of chocolate in the middle. We also got the almond croissants, two meat stuffed pastries, and a sandwich. Everything was delicious and we also got a free drink! The bakery is also located on a very cute street so it's nice to grab a bite and go for a stroll. I was extremely impressed with how delicious everything was and how well priced too. Probably the best pastries you can get on a budget! The staff was very nice and patient as we fumbled through all the things we wanted and tried to communicate with broken French/ English which was also a plus. Highly recommend! Don't miss out on the flaky deliciousness!!
google avatar

Juanita D.

Yelp
Does Le Grenier have the best croissants in all the land? Absolutely. The line is usually long (1/2 the line are tourists), however it moves quickly! Prices are cheap, and they have a variety of pastries, breads, sandwiches and more. Don't bother trying to buy these goods from the surrounding shops - get them here! For only 1euro you will consume the best croissant of your life - light, fluffy, buttery goodness. We made the mistake of only ordering one, and quickly ran back to order 2 more. We also took home a salmon baguette sandwich (4 euro) was amazing as well. If I'm ever back in Paris, this will be 1st on my list of places to visit. Enjoy!
google avatar

Kristina M.

Yelp
A great bakery to pick up your croissants and baguettes. Le Grenier a Pain even boasts of winning an award twice for their baguette! After breaking the baguette, you can immediately tell by how fluffy and airy the middle looks why it won an award. Also, the croissants were buttery, delicious, and was made perfectly crispy on the outside and buttery and melt-in-your-mouth on the inside! There is nowhere to eat in here, so my recommendation is to at least get a croissant, a baguette, and one of their fruit jams sold on their shelves (because their mango fruit jam was life-changing and the best fruit jam I've ever had). Then, go a few doors down to a fromagerie and get any cheese that looks good to you. Then go sit on a bench at Square Jehan-Rictus, a beautiful garden housing the popular 'I love you' wall, near the Metro station not too far from Le Grenier a Pain. There, enjoy your 2x award winning baguette with fruit jam and delicious cheese you can't get back home. Eat your buttery croissants and just enjoy the greenery, the peaceful, and deliciousness of everything.

Yelp
Best crossiant ever. Not only was it light, it was dense; it had a crispy shell, but it was cushioned with layers and layers of buttery flavor. Not gonna lie, I've probably been hyping up my visit to this place, but it was truly an experience to break apart the ear of the crossiant and have all the flakes crumble with any pressure. Luckily, it didn't completely dissolve away into my mouth, but it had a nice chew that let me appreciate the pastry.
google avatar

Yelp
BEST CROISSANTS in all of Paris!!! they are friendly although not much english spoken, luckily we know how to say 1,2,3 and please &merci ! super helpful!! we were able to communicate enough to come back and order multiple times during our 1 week stay in this historic area!! the best part is that everything is super fresh anytime you go in... we were a little obsessed so we went in at different times throughout the day. I cant wait to go back and bring home some of their parisienne baguette and croissants!! yum yum yum . Everything was delicious here!! and i mean everything!! Merci Beaucoup to the patient staff here!!
google avatar

Damien S.

Yelp
If you get one classic Parisienne sandwich (jambon et beurre), travel your carb-craving tuchus to Montmartre, and bury your biscuits into Le Grenier à Pain. Simply divine, stuffed to the gills with thick, tender ham and rich, salted butter, and the chew this bad boy had me begging for seconds. Literally, I insisted my wife bestow upon me the last of her lunch, which she did, begrudgingly. Grab a formule menu - sandwich, sweet and drink for €7, and use it to distract you from the "where did the pay go?" frontal fiasco that is the Moulin Rouge. Come what may, amirite Ewan?

Yelp
I've never understood the cliché of Frenchmen eating their baguettes (*)... I mean: what's the point behind it? Is it silly to do so? Do we think that their priorities are misplaced? Are we just jealous? I mean: it IS baguette: Deeply flavored. Firm crust. Crisp. Crunchy. Chewy. Perfect vehicle for cheese or Pate. Great on its own. Is it frou frou? Have you seen the 1 euro baguettes/ficelles? As a carbaholic, this would be my Rhett Butler moment: Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. The French can feel it too. Your love for bread. They can feel it in their bones. They can smell you for being real or fake. As I waited under the canopy near Le Grenier a Pain waiting for the sudden heavy thunderstorm to subside holding a bag of goodies from Le Grenier under one arm, chewing on one of the awarded (twice) baguettes in Paris as I did so, trying to protect it more from the rain than myself - I got more sympathetic and encouraging glances, nods, smiles, and comments than during my entire trip. They knew I had my priorities right. Best baguette in Paris? It's always hard to choose any baguette in Paris as the best, but most consistent? Definitely. One of the best butter croissants? Surely. Best Pain Au Lait I had on the trip. One of the most fragrant things I consumed on the trip was the chocolate coated Pain d'Epices: cinnamon, cloves, ginger in a chewy brown cake and covered by a layer of dark chocolate. It's the first time I'd eaten them, but I really enjoyed their version much more than the one I had at Gontran Cherrier in Tokyo. Bread makes the world go round - sometimes, literally. My mirror can probably confirm that... (4.5 stars) (*) The striped shirts are fair game, though the beret is probably not factual...

Yelp
Best Tiramisu we had in Paris! All of their other Pastries were good too. But Tiramisu stood out from the rest. Wish I bought two!

Yelp
The best bakery we visited in Paris, bar none. Since we were staying in the area during the off-season (November), we rarely experienced the lines and crowds that some of the other reviews mention. The service is prompt and businesslike and it's important that you know what you want when you get to the front of the line. Everything we had was spectacular: baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolat, and several savory pastries (one with lardons, another with tomato and mozzarella). You cannot go wrong on anything you order here. We bought a baguette here three days in a row. The two days we bought baguette at 7 AM or so the bread was delicious but cold. One day we bought a baguette closer to 9 AM and it was warm and fresh from the oven. If we had stayed even longer, we might have cracked the code on when the bread comes out of the oven :)

Yelp
We ended up staying in the Montmarte vicinity, so this place was close by. Place has a constant line, and at first seems like a tourist trap. We ended up getting the a Croissant Aux Chocolate (see pics), a cake (see pics), a regular croissant which ended up costing $7.1(USD). Here is total list of items we got during our two visits. Credit Cards accepted! Cake - crunchy chocolate outside, and soft smooth inside. Croissant aux chocolate - could use a little more chocolate but then again I am chocolate fiend. Also, the croissant could be a little larger. Regular Madeline - Earthly flavor, stay away from these. Bad. Eclair - Yummy! Pistachio cookies - we had these on our flight and trip back to London and onwards to the US. They great crunchy texture, a little tough on the teeth, but that's my style. Most of their baked items are relatively reasonable in price, and the GF even came back at night for one of their three cheese pizza which i didn't get to taste.

Yelp
Best croissant in Montmartre! They also have nice quick bites like sandwiches and savory tarts. I don't speak French but through a combination of hand gestures and patient staff it was super easy to order.

Yelp
Ahhhhhmazing! We were looking for a good place to grab croissants and pastries, and this place was the best! I got an almond croissant (that I couldn't stop eating once I took the first bite) and an apricot pastry. My friend got the chocolate croissant, and she loved it. We're hooked.

Yelp
I was expecting mind blowingly amazing baguettes and croissants. Unfortunately, I felt it to be just okay. In all fairness, if I had gone to this bakery first then I probably would have liked it more. But we ended up coming here the day before we left and after trying different lesser known bakeries, this just didn't live up to the hype. The croissant was flaky and light which was good. I loved the pistachio madeleine. But the award winning baguette didn't impress me at all =( It didn't come close to being as good as the one from La Fille du Boulanger in Batignolles.

Yelp
Raspberry macaroon had fresh raspberries and was very fragrant! The chocolate eclair was airy and broke up well. The fruit tart was alright, it was just that the crust was a bit hard.

Yelp
Stoped into this bakery on the walk from Opera up to Sacré-Cœur. Croissant €1.10. Super flaky on the outside, luxuriously soft and buttery inside. They've apparently won some major awards like best croissant or baguette in Paris in 2010 and first place in 2015. Also had the chicken on baguette "sandwich". €4. Tasty but that particular example isn't something I'd get again. Not sure if the bread is usually that hard and chewy or if I happen to get yesterdays bread on that sandwich. Or maybe refrigeration made the bread harder ... Wish I had more of an appetite but that was my second bakery of the day... and plenty of delicious food to eat in Paris.

Yelp
All four of us arrived in Montmartre hangry/jetlagged which is a bad, bad combo. As tour guide/COO/aka mom, I urged my group of followers up the hills from the Blanche metro stop with promises of sandwiches on the best baguettes in Paris and delicious pastry treats.. and Le Grenier a Pain did not disappoint. They have a set formule which is one sandwich+one pastry = free drink which we took advantage of. We then went up to place Emile-Goudeau (which I highly recommend) that is perched on a hill with several benches and were serenaded by a classical guitarist. There is nothing more fulfilling then the silence that succeeds when your family is tearing into an amazing sandwich (the best we had in Paris) followed by croissants and chocolate/lemon tarts. If it wasn't the absolute perfect, quintessential Parisian lunch, I'm not sure what is.

Yelp
During our Paris trip, we stopped by almost every bakery we passed by to taste something. Le Grenier a Pain is one that we actually planned to go to and we were not disappointed! Price: Typical bakery price, about 2-3 euros per piece, but dependent on what you buy. Food: They have a wide assortment of food ranging from sweet pastries like chocolate croissants to savory like cheese sausage bread. The croissant was super flaky and delicious. The baguette was one of the best I have ever had. But don't get me started on the eclairs. It was the best. We had an eclair at Jean Paul costing us 8 euros, and this one costing us 3 euros. This one was by far the best. I would definitely come back. It was the best bakery in Paris that we went to.

Yelp
Delicious croissants and pain au chocolat - perfect balance of butter and crispiness. I used to go to the Grenier à pain at Place d'Italie, but this one is almost just as good. My only pet peeve as a germaphobe is that the lady serving us had one glove on one hand -- you would assume she'd use the gloved hand to touch the food and her other hand to touch money, but I saw her picking up money and touching the bread with the gloved hand.

Yelp
I came back here 2 days later I tried their croissant and ham & cheese French sandwich. Omg it is so good. I was just visiting Paris and am sad I'm not able to eat their amazing bread. All their bread has green good but I am especially obsessed with their croissants. Would visit their shops whenever I'm able to.

Yelp
We had lots and lots of bread during our trip in Paris, but Le Grenier à Pain had the best baguette sandwich we tried. Very crunchy and dense croissant with lots of good buttery flavor. We took our sandwich up to Sacré-Cœur (about a ~8 minute walk) and had a wonderful early morning view of the city.
