Ideally situated in the old, historic part of Dijon, the Jacquemart is a family-run hotel. Rooms are simple but clean and adequate. Mine looked over the central light shaft - absolutely no noise at night but, of course, no view either! Breakfast was a buffet with plenty to choose from. Dijon is a delightful town - ideal for a city break. The historical centre is within easy walking distance of the main station, though there are small electric buses that run through the pedestrian streets. To go further afield, trams run from the station. The Tourist Office provides lots of guided tours and visits for all tastes (wine and mustard included, naturally!) There are several good restaurants for all budgets, and the huge covered market has plenty for a picnic lunch - there are some very pretty gardens where you can sit down and enjoy your shopping! The Square des Ducs is very central and quiet. The Jardin d'Arcy with its water feature and pond is a lovely spot to rest and admire the world go by.
