We wanted simply a quiet respite, a few days to unwind and relax. We found exactly this at Le Jardin Malanga. It is not a resort offering a lot of activities - plenty of those elsewhere. The sea view with the garden setting is perfectly conducive to spending some quiet time immersed in reading or writing or meditation. There is a small pool, suitable for dipping during the heat of the day. The accommodation (we were in a cottage room for two, with a lovely shaded terrace) was ideal. Every day is topped off by a very different and imaginative dinner prepared by the chef, featuring local produce, really a highlight of the day. There is no nearby village where you can walk for dinner. Access to the resort is by car only, either a rental car or a taxi service, both of which are easily arranged. Next time we go, we will forgo the rental car - no reason to leave! The staff is friendly and efficient. This is definitely one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. One small suggestion: please get a couple more sun umbrellas for the pool deck; I would like to sit and read there, but not in full-on sun.
Now, one year later, we are back again for Christmas week at Le Jardin Malanga. It is just as lovely, tranquil, and relaxing. Riccardo continues to amaze with his inventive and delicious food. And guess what -- they followed my suggestion and added two more permanently installed sun umbrellas on the pool deck! (added Dec 2024)
