Le Jardin Malanga Hotel (Trois Rivieres, Guadeloupe) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s not uncommon to talk about the Caribbean as though it were a single destination, but one of the reasons for its perennial appeal is that it’s a place that offers a near-infinite variety of experiences. At one extreme there’s the all-inclusive beachside mega-resort; at the other extreme there’s a place like Le Jardin Malanga, just outside of Trois Rivières, Guadeloupe. Nestled into the forest ten minutes up the hillside from the beach, it’s blessed with stunning views of the nearby Saintes islands. And it’s far from a mega-resort, or even a resort — it’s just a Twenties-era colonial mansion plus three freestanding cottages, making for an atmosphere that’s as tranquil as can be." - Tablet Hotels

This place is heaven! We had a wonderful stay in Jardin Malanga for 2 nights. We had a bungalow with view on the garden, which was very quiet and peaceful, it was such a dream to wake up like this! The dinner was also a great part of the experience: chef Riccardo had offered us sublime food, something we did not expect! Such a high level quality for a good price. Keep in mind that this is not a place for kids, since there’s no entertainment at all. We can’t wait to be back :)

We returned to Le Jardin Malanga for a week's holiday over Christmas, for the second year in a row. And we have already reserved for the same time next year! Perhaps that says it all. We love this place. If you want to explore the Basse Terre half of Guadeloupe, this resort offers the perfect base. But for us, it is an oasis where we can relax and read, "away from it all" as they say, We see no reason to go anywhere. Certainly, you won't find better food anywhere in Guadeloupe. The dinners every evening are always a highlight of the day. The special Christmas Eve dinner is a tour de force. Chef Riccardo and his partner Helena, the general manager, are the perfect hosts. The owners of Le Jardin Malanga must feel very fortunate to have such fine people in charge of their property. I simply cannot recommend this place too highly - it is more than worth the price. Just look at the photo taken from the front porch of our cottage!

Lovely small notice hotel in a very secluded area.|We stayed in one of the 6 bungalows within the grounds of the hotel.||The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, the bungalow was spacious with a large bathroom, however, the pathway to get to the bungalows is extremely steep.||We did not have an evening meal so cannot comment.||Overall if you want a very quiet stay with not a lot to do would highly recommend.

Our overall experience was OK but honestly speaking, I would have expected a higher quality service for the price paid for our stay in terms of staff, food and all the details in between. For example, the manager wasn’t very hospitable, the pool towels were worn and dated, the dinners were so so albeit well presented, the fruits served at breakfast didn’t taste good, they served Prosecco instead of champagne at the Christmas cocktail. The quality isn’t up to the standard that it should be and therefore I wouldn’t recommend it unfortunately, at least not at those prices.

Could not have been more enjoyable! Awesome location with delightful view to the West (= great sunsets) overlooking the water and smaller islands. Comfortable room. Easy to drive to attractions and restaurants. Very accommodating/helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts.

We wanted simply a quiet respite, a few days to unwind and relax. We found exactly this at Le Jardin Malanga. It is not a resort offering a lot of activities - plenty of those elsewhere. The sea view with the garden setting is perfectly conducive to spending some quiet time immersed in reading or writing or meditation. There is a small pool, suitable for dipping during the heat of the day. The accommodation (we were in a cottage room for two, with a lovely shaded terrace) was ideal. Every day is topped off by a very different and imaginative dinner prepared by the chef, featuring local produce, really a highlight of the day. There is no nearby village where you can walk for dinner. Access to the resort is by car only, either a rental car or a taxi service, both of which are easily arranged. Next time we go, we will forgo the rental car - no reason to leave! The staff is friendly and efficient. This is definitely one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. One small suggestion: please get a couple more sun umbrellas for the pool deck; I would like to sit and read there, but not in full-on sun. Now, one year later, we are back again for Christmas week at Le Jardin Malanga. It is just as lovely, tranquil, and relaxing. Riccardo continues to amaze with his inventive and delicious food. And guess what -- they followed my suggestion and added two more permanently installed sun umbrellas on the pool deck! (added Dec 2024)

My husband and I booked this hotel for the first three nights of our two week vacation in Guadeloupe. The gates opened up and we were transported to a luxury experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our cottage was relaxing and spacious with a front porch and a hammock that got tons of use! Spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. We slept like babies! We bought the dinner package as well as the picnic dinner for one night and what an excellent idea that was! We were greeted by the gracious hosts and treated to fine dining every night with an outstanding wine selection. The morning breakfast was cooked to order and featured fresh fruits, delicious croissants, and fresh juice and coffee. Perfect way to start the day. We loved everything about his place and Claire was super helpful with anything from assisting us with taxis to making sure we were welcomed with a smile and had help getting luggage to the room. Laurent was the chef extraordinaire and his meals were always delicious and presentation was beautiful. We would highly recommend staying here and are looking forward to a return trip someday. We were treated like royalty and thoroughly loved it.
