Le Peninsula Paris serves lavish international breakfasts and afternoon teas in an opulent, art-filled hotel setting with impeccable service and a palatial vibe.
"It took master artisans four years to transform the faded Hotel Majestic, a belle époque landmark, into a 21st-century palace hotel. Le Peninsula Paris reopened in 2014 with just 200 rooms—created at an average cost of 2.75 million dollars each—and a paparazzi-proof parking entrance. The first European entry of the Hong Kong –based chain, the hotel’s primary investor is actually a hospitality group headed by a member of the Qatar royal family. Despite bas-reliefs, painted ceilings, marble parquet floors, and 2,100 acres of gold leaf (applied by the same company that re-gilded the torch on the Statue of Liberty), the hotel feels utterly modern, with original works of contemporary art scattered throughout; the rooms have a soothing gray and ecru color scheme, and tablets control everything from lights and TV stations to curtains and climate."
I absolutely adore Le Lobby restaurant for breakfast. The staff is amazing. Maud my personal attendant always greeted me with an amazing smile and was so personal in her interactions with me. I rarely eat breakfast but during my weeks stay I found myself there every morning. The menu is delightful. I recommend the scrambled eggs with truffles. Bon appetit.

Everything about it is delicious, the standing of the place, the decoration of the hotel and the restaurant. The service is exemplary and courteous, and above all the food. The food is fresh and of the highest quality.

On a Trip in May 2024 in Paris, I visited the location with a large group of my friends. The service and food were good. I would recommend for those looking for the best French toast in the city. The price is high per person for a light afternoon tea but I would deem it as worth it.

We booked a table for a birthday dinner and because of some mixup with the booking (cancellation and rebooking afterall), we were offered free welcome drinks as a compensation. This was a nice gesture.
The presentation of the dishes is excellent and main dishes were delicious. The starters were a little disappointment in terms of the flavour.
As we had special dietary requirements, the chef prepared a gluten and dairy free birthday cake, which was surprisingly tasty!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very palatial and over the top in a good way.

La Lobby was a surprise treat. I had the Afternoon Tea recently in the late summer with friends. The service, building, staff and food was wonderful. Great selection food and choice. It went down as a treat

Beautiful Lobby with a dining area. The food at tea time was good, although very pastry heavy, and the service started off very well. Towards the end we had to fill our own water

I had a brunch on Sunday. The food is average.

Yelp
The best most delicious dreamy brunch you can ever imagine. Just name a dish or dessert and you'll finde it in their Sunday brunch. You have to try it. The customer service was amazing like the rest of hotel and they do have live music. So overall it will be a joyful delicious experience that you will never forget. Their price is very reasonable for the high quality food in that variety that they provide.

Yelp
The tea time was fantastic. A lot of food for two people as well. If you can eat a full one, that's a whole meal. The tea is homemade and mixed specially to meet the high quality expected at The Peninsula.
The best finger sandwich was the crab one.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous hotel and it's a wonderful place to have afternoon tea.
I highly recommend the Vanilla mille-feuille
You will dream very sweet dreams long after you've tried this decadent dessert. Delicious is not even a good enough word to begin to describe how amazing it is.
Also try the green tea with rose and jasmine
Great ambiance, wonderful service !

Yelp
Food was exquisite but service could have been better. We were hotel guests and just going in for breakfast. We will still go back but would love service to be kinder/nicer.

Yelp
What a beautiful room. We went for dinner during the demonstrations and felt very secure. The service here is impeccable. The food amazing. Onion soup, pad Thai, chicken curry all winners.
Staff very accommodating and most speak English. Donald and Annie made our evening very special.
The dessert worth the calories. Definitely bring your credit card you will need it.

Yelp
"The Lobby" of the newly opened Peninsula Hotel in Paris is a wonderful place to gather for high tea. The service could have been better but the finger food and tea were absolutely delicious. Wonderful place for a special occasion.
Price/Quality: 4 stars
Not a steal, but wonderful afternoon pastries with a French twist.
Service: 4 stars
Nice waiters. Just expect slow service.
Ambiance: 5 stars
Wonderful, elegant atmosphere. Everything a Peninsula Hotel should be. :)
Tip: The portions are large so get a tea set menu (45) to share for two people and an extra tea (50 total for two). :)

Yelp
Beware of the 11€ tap water. Seriously. Beware. Just throw the whole restaurant away. I am pretty upset that after what I thought was a great service experience, I get my over 100€ bill--which I expected it to be even though I dined alone and isn't what I'm mad about--to see an 11€ charge for tap water when I specifically made it clear that I wanted tap water but it wasn't made clear to me that tap water if given in a bottle would basically be the price of a cheap glass of wine. Apparently it's 11€ for the bottle. Well heck I should've taken the bottle home so I could keep refilling it with tap water to hopefully one day reach the 11€ value. I would seriously not recommend this place. I haven't been there for tea though, but after this I wouldn't go even if I found out their afternoon tea was made and served by president of France himself.
I've been on a 3-week Europe vacation after finishing law school and the bar exam in the US, and I've eaten at so many places. This was my last night here and last meal (I have a very early flight tomorrow so grabbing something in airport lounge doesn't count), and I decided to treat myself. I've had amazing meals elsewhere and from the sweetest people, despite what people say about Parisians. I've even left extra tips even though it's not required because people have been very kind to my lack of French. I should've gone elsewhere for my last meal. I hate when places have no integrity. I'm already at the restaurant. I'm already going to spend my money--and lots of it being here. Just give me what I ask for, and they're very clear on what you're asking for. I won't be returning to this place when I return to Paris nor will I recommend it to you or anyone else. I accidentally ate at this placed based on the reviews of the rooftop restaurant, but now I see that others have complained about that shady charge on the google reviews. Pretty sure that might be illegal in France where a restaurant is obligated to give you tap water if you ask, but I'm not a French lawyer. Will never eat here or even stay here and will literally proselytize about the 11€ river water to anyone who will listen. I hope I end up with some radioactive waste superpowers given how much I paid for the tap!
