"You can visit both islands during the same day or spend the night on Île de Port-Cros, which is lesser known and tinier. Stay at Hotel Le Manoir or on a boat, which is what I recommend. If you stay at Hotel Le Manoir, you have to book months in advance because it’s the only hotel there."

We have been coming to Le Manoir on Port Cros for some forty years, save last year when we heard the chef had walked out and the standard in the restaurant had collapsed.||We had been told that all was well now with a new chef and waiters in place. We arrived for lunch a few days ago to be greeted by two surly waiters. The food was a huge disappointment. The lamb was chewy and fatty. It was sold as confit, which it wasn't. They ruined the sea bass and dorade. Overcooked, including the vegetables. The meal was expensive as normal, but when we expressed our disappointment, it was clear the waiters were indifferent to our feedback||This restaurant used to be one of our favourites in the world but it is the last time we will go there ending an era which had been filled with so many happy memories.

We had a late walk in lunch after visiting the island for some snorkelling with kids in this charming and secluded location 10 min from the busy port. The kid's menu and fish I had were delicious with waterfront views and with prices aligned with an island hotel away from the main land. Staffs were plenty, pleasant and not overbearing. After lunch, we moved to the bar garden area where we had coffee and napped away in comfortable long chairs, all under huge trees overlooking the lovely garden, donkey, and rolling hills views before getting back to the boat. A perfect afternoon after a 2 hours hike and 2 hours snorkelling day! We enjoyed a quiet and "throw back in time" moment away from the very busy port restaurants and bars. We will be back, one day!

A charming and secluded location 10 min walk from the busy touristique port. |As we walked in for a late lunch after visiting the island for some snorkling with kids, we felt much welcomed into this 1840 traditional Provençale property. |The kids' menu and fish were delicious, with water front views, and prices aligned with an island hotel away from the main land.|Staffs were plenty, pleasant, and not overbearing. |After lunch, we moved to the bar garden area where we had coffee and napped away in comfortable longchairs, all under huge trees over looking the lovely garden, a donkey and rolling hills view, before getting back to the boat. |Certainly, as a french local family leaving abroad, we enjoyed a quiet and "trowback in time" moment away from the busy port. We will be back.

Despite the beautiful setting on Port Cros, we were left disappointed with the slow and inattentive service and grossly inflated prices, as several others have noted. Frozen fries were quite good though!

My dining experience at this restaurant was a profound disappointment. Although the location was pleasant, the waitstaff's rudeness, impatience, and scarcity overshadowed any positives. Moreover, the sub-par food failed to live up to its promising descriptions, and the exorbitant prices were unjustifiable. Adding insult to injury, an unsolicited dessert was served and attempted to be charged for, while the restaurant also dishonestly increased the price of our starters. This establishment prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, making it difficult to recommend. Seek out other options for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at La Manoir in Parc National Port-Cros, and I must say it was far from enjoyable. We went for a family and friends dinner to celebrate our holidays, we are about 11 in the group, all living in France but conversing in English as that our common language, we expected a pleasant evening with good food and service. However, the restaurant failed to meet even the most basic standards, leaving us thoroughly disappointed. To begin with, I must acknowledge the beautiful location and stunning view but unfortunately, the ambiance alone couldn't salvage the experience. The food at La Manoir was, at best, average. The dishes served were uninspiring and lacked the flavor and creativity we expected from a restaurant reputation. Considering the high prices we paid for each meal, we were not impressed. Speaking of prices, they were exorbitantly high, making the overall experience even more disappointing. La Manoir appears to take advantage of its location and reputation to charge unjustifiably inflated prices to “tourists”. For the quality of food and service we received, the cost was simply not justified. The staff at La Manoir displayed an alarming level of arrogance and disregard for customer satisfaction. Their behavior throughout the evening was unprofessional and disrespectful. The menus were deliberately misleading, providing us with one menu to order from with set prices, only to surprise us later with a separate menu we had not seen before, with different, higher prices. This deceptive tactic left us feeling cheated and manipulated. What was even more shocking was the staff's audacity to serve us desserts without our consent, assuming they were included in a set menu, and then charging us a hefty 15€ per person for something we never ordered. When we raised our concerns about this, the waiter rudely responded by slamming a new bill on our table and hastily retreating. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that the revised bill had been altered to increase the prices of our appetizers to compensate for the undesired desserts. This behavior was disgusting. However, the worst part of our evening at La Manoir was undoubtedly when we were leaving the restaurant. As we walked past the staff, they were making rude comments and swearing us off in French. When we confronted them and made it clear that we understood what they were saying, their response was shockingly disrespectful, with one of the staff members talked back cursing at us. Such behavior towards paying customers is completely unacceptable and reflects the utter lack of professionalism and respect at this establishment.

Spare your self the disappointment and robbery of this so called gastronomy. Our dining experience was a whole other level of disappointment as the food that we were reluctantly served at Le Manoir was abysmal, to say the least. With Irreverent servers tossing down plates with true lack of respect, I wouldn't wish the tasteless, poorly cooked dishes on my worst enemy. It was evident that our chef lacked any culinary skill, talent or passion for their craft. The limited menu options were uninspired, and even the simplest of dishes were executed with a complete lack of finesse. It was an insult to French cuisine. To add insult to our injury, Le Manoir charged exorbitant prices for their subpar services. (If words were powerful enough to describe the lack of respect we experienced) I couldn't believe I was paying so much for an experience that bordered on the absurd. This place is a prime example of daylight robbery disguised as a restaurant. In conclusion, the ostentatious Le Manoir in Port-Cros, France, was a catastrophic failure in every aspect. From the unprofessional staff and the abysmal dining experience and sky-high prices, this place is an absolute disgrace. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this hotel at all costs. Prisoners deserve better than what Le Manoir has to offer.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Never have I seen a restaurant with such potential so appallingly run. If you have a reservation cancel it, if you don’t, you have been spared. Food was dry and uninspired - Michelin prices but with the taste of their tires. We were not given the same menu as other restaurant visitors and charged 540eu for three fish. We were each served a dessert that no-one ordered and the waiter had the audacity to attempt to charge us 15eu each. I live in France so I am disappointed that I let myself get ripped off by a staff that preys on ‘ignorant tourists’ but the bigger shame is on them for missing the opportunity to fully leverage a world class location….one last thing, the staff speak English very well, they let you know only at the end as they rudely wish you “good bye”
