**This place is a real hidden gem!** Everything is perfectly simple and well thought out. The location is amazing—it truly elevates your quality time. Parking is easy. Sitting outside is peaceful—words don’t do it justice. Just go and experience it yourself! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. **Bonus:** easy parking. **P.S.** If you're used to stuffed crepes, note that theirs is more minimalist. But not to worry—their menu is fresh and full of tempting options worth exploring!

Incredible crepes and atmosphere! Loved their grocery selection and the overall feeling of the store. Tried the brie crepe and matcha, and I absolutely loved both. I’m dying to go back to try some more crepe flavors. The outside seating area:patio is fantastic and service was surprisingly quick on a Friday afternoon.

Had an afternoon snack here. Ordered a mocha and a cinnamon sugar crepe. Paid $16 with tip for one person. It wasn’t cheap, but I think it was worth a try. I also got to try the quiche my friend ordered—it was good and flavorful too. I loved the rustic ambiance. Everything was Instagrammable. It’s located in a quaint neighborhood, and getting there was easy—just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. The place is famous for its croissants, but they were already sold out at the time. That’s why I opted for the cinnamon sugar crepe, which did not disappoint. Service was pleasant and friendly. It’s a small café with limited seating both indoors and outdoors. I think it’s best to go early in the morning. Will definitely go back again!

I’ve been visiting this beautiful, cozy, wonderful cafe since at least 2010. It was so delightful to discover it with a friend and be able to walk through the beautiful neighborhood to get to it. They had by far, they best chocolate croissants and coffee. I spent hours here, eating crepes and coffee, sitting outside with the bees, trees and gardens. It was my oasis from the bustling city. It is still one of the classiest, most unique, family, neighborhood cafe’s around. They have worked hard to keep it true to its core and vision, full of unique products from around the world and offering the best possible food. It’s still incredibly eclectic and cute and invites some of the coolest, most artistic people for a visit. Unfortunately as Vancouver bloats beyond its capacity to hold anymore people and it’s at the tip of the iceberg of becoming some cold, foreign, sterile city, this place is almost too busy for me now! The line ups are endless and it doesn’t feel like a safe place to hang out for long. There’s a tipping point for everything and Vancouver has passed it with no end in sight by its greedy developer style government and this warm little cafe has been discovered. I have so many photos from over the years but of course I can’t find them now.

A small but impressive place! The crepes here are absolutely delicious — thin, perfectly cooked, and filled with fresh ingredients. It's a cozy spot that's always busy, but it's definitely worth the wait. You can tell everything is made with care. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Tucked away on a quiet corner in a residential area, this cafe feels like a delightful escape. Housed in a heritage-style building, it exudes charm and warmth, especially with its casual outdoor seating that transports you to a cozy European café. The menu features delicious pies and crepes, both savory and sweet. Beyond the food, the cafe also offers a selection of high-quality goods, from fine teas and honey to artisanal pasta. Whether you’re stopping by for a meal or browsing the store, it’s a spot worth visiting.

Nice ambiance and cute interior. The matcha latte and chai latte come in rather small mugs for the cost of the drinks. Both tasted really watery and lacked that quality flavor we were looking for. I wouldn’t recommend coming here for beverages. We tried the lemon sugar crepe and it was underwhelming. The food other people were having looked good, especially the frittata.

Le Marché St. George: A Cozy Corner of Paris in Vancouver 🥐☕️✨ Nestled in a charming residential neighborhood, Le Marché St. George is a delightful fusion of café and general store that transports you straight to a Parisian street corner. 🏡🇫🇷 After discovering this gem, I've found myself returning twice a week, unable to resist its allure. Their quiches and crêpes are simply divine, each bite bursting with authentic French flavors. 🥧🍽️ The friendly staff always greet you with warm smiles, and the coffee is top-notch, making it the perfect spot to relax and indulge. ☕️😊 The ambiance is both rustic and inviting, with an eclectic mix of artisanal goods lining the shelves, tempting you to take a piece of this cozy haven home. 🛍️🕯️ Whether you're in the mood for a leisurely brunch or a quick coffee break, Le Marché St. George offers a quaint escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. 🌿🕰️ It's become a must-visit destination for me whenever I'm in the area, and I can't recommend it enough to fellow Vancouverites and visitors alike. 🌟🏙️

Yelp
I don't love that everyone knows about this gem of a cafe. Staff is great and brings out the order to you. Find a table if you can. One time, I sat on a planter and held my plate on my lap but the crepe was worth it. The interior is small but cute with some food goods for sale in addition to the cafe pastries/crepes etc. The poached pear with brie also comes with a drizzle of honey and cracked pepper. I noticed bee hives behind the building so I think it may have been local honey as well .. so good. Also, they make a nice Americano.

Yelp
This hidden gem is tucked away on an eastern side street just off of SOMA. Recommend by a family member, we stopped by Sunday for coffee and a snack. This is definitely a place that is frequented by locals, you might miss it if you didn't know what you're looking for. Definitely a home spun vibe! There are a good number of places to sit outside (weather permitting) and a couple of spots inside. Obviously seating is hard to come by but I was happy to see they try to limit laptop use. We shared a delicious cinnamon roll and scrumptious gluten free pumpkin muffin- both were excellent. These complimented our flavourful Americanos, which were strong but pleasant. Due to space constraints the condiments were limited but adequate. Staff was patient and kind, obviously owner operated, it shows. Prices were affordable and good value for the money.

Yelp
Solid neighbourhood cafe to catch up with friends or have an easy morning coffee. They serve a solid matcha and good crepes and quiches. This cafe has limited seating indoors, but has some good outdoor seats. I definitely recommend this cafe during the spring and summer when you can enjoy the outdoor space!

Yelp
We came here twice for breakfast within 2 weeks upon hearing about the place from a friend recently. The small café hidden in a residential neighbourhood in Riley Park is a perfect destination for a morning stroll (a 15km walk from Downtown South in our case). My husband had the crêpes with roasted pair & brie on both visits. I had their salted caramel crêpes the first time and a croissant sandwich with ham, Gruyère, and Dijon. Although simple-looking, the made-to-order homey dishes are packed with flavours. Their coffees are strong and rich. We already know what we are going to try on our next walk there.

Yelp
We went to Le Marche St George for brunch on a Sunday morning. It's a small corner store with some bar stools and window seating, and a few patio tables outside. They don't have a large menu to choose from but as there aren't many places around that serve French crepes, this place had been on my radar for awhile and so I really wanted to try their crepes. Featured here: Three Cheese & Confit Tomato Crepe Nutella Crepe Quiche Pain Au Raisin Iced Lavender Matcha The crepes were pretty good but nothing spectacular. It was the Quiche that turned out to be the showstopper. A lady who was standing in front of us while we were in line recommended the quiche to us, and it turned out to be an excellent recommendation. The quiche had smoked salmon, capers, red onion & herb boursin in it. It was cooked to perfection and my husband said it was possibly the best quiche he had ever had! Pain Au Raisin and the Iced Lavender Matcha were also very nicely done. The Pain Au Raisin was crisp and flaky, and I could definitely taste the Lavender in the Lavender Matcha. This place is quite a hidden gem and I would absolutely come here again! Service: Good Parking: Free parking on the street

Yelp
A hidden café just off of Main and King Edward. We were nearby for an appointment so we decided to pop by and check it out! I can tell that majority of their customers were locals - many were walking their dogs or stopping for a quick coffee on their walks. Inside the restaurant was a combination of a grocery shop and a café. We opted to eat at the restaurant since there was some space available. Tables are not all that big. I ordered a matcha latte and a Turkey, Fig, and Brie crepe ($13.95). Matcha latte was pretty diluted when I was there and not a lot of matcha taste. Crepe was a combination of savoury and sweet which was nice. Fig sauce was sweet but also a bit sour as well. The crepe itself was quite thick and I liked that it had a bit of a chew to it. Decent amount of ingredients inside as well. My friend ordered just a london fog which was quite standard. The store is a bit out of the way for me so I wouldn't go often. The crepes were just an okay for me. If I were to come back, I would probably opt to order a sweet crepe to see if those taste better.

Yelp
This place is in a neighborhood. Plenty of parking on the streets. Seats are not that comfortable. I spent a few hours here and was reading at the tiny bar seat by the window. There's one more table inside and the rest is outside. During winter or fall or spring when weather is unpredictable it's less comfortable to be sitting outside. I was sort of expecting a cozy nook in a corner. It's busy and people come and go so it's a bit noisy in such a small place. There's plenty of food selections from crepes to sandwiches. They look good. I just ordered an espresso and didn't order food because there's really no comfortable place to sit and enjoy the food at that time. People are nice. This is not a place where u bring ur laptop to work or study. Maybe bring a friend to chat for a short time or when the weather is nice in the summer u can spend time sitting outside.

Yelp
This neighbourhood cafe is a dream! From its cozy vibes to an outdoor patio filled with flowers. They have pastries, crêpes, sandwiches and some local delicious local goodies to take home. They also had some books and toys for the kids. If you want a coffee in peace in beautiful surroundingd, that's itn

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere with a rustic, vintage vibe. The food and drinks were amazing. There is limited seating indoors.

Yelp
FEELING QUICHE-IE @lemarchestgeorge is a charming cafe nestled in a residential neighbourhood near Main St. They serve your typical cafe fare, as well as crepes, quiches, croissant sandwiches, and local goods. I had been wanting to visit this cafe for a while after seeing photos of it last spring. And I am so glad I finally made the drive down. The cafe itself has this rustic charm to it. All the exposed wood and shards of goodies makes it feel as if you were walking into a vintage grocery store; it was like time stopped. The atmosphere was really relaxing because the cafe is located on a pretty quiet street corner. I sat outside because my dog was with me, and it was a wonderful way to spend a sunny afternoon. All the flowers in bloom around the outside seating areas really brightened up my mood. The service here was also very good; more than I usually expect at a cafe. I was struggling to decide what I wanted to eat, and the lovely woman who was taking my order at the counter offered to give me my drink first so that I can decide whilst I enjoyed my coffee--without paying first. This was a perfect example of what good hospitality looks like in my opinion. I walked back inside a a few minutes later and decided on their quiche which was the perfect snack. Quiche 8.5/10 I really enjoyed this quiche. It was a smoked salmon and Gruyère quiche that was just perfectly done. The cheese gave the quiche a really rich and creamy texture, and the smoked salmon added a nice hint of meatiness and flavour. My only complaint is that the pastry shell seemed a bit underbaked at the bottom. I ended up finishing the outer edges of the shell, and left the bottom untouched. Overall still the best quiche I've tried if I don't consider the shell. Have you guys checked out this charming cafe yet? 8.5/10 ‍10/10 $$ (aprox. $15-$20 for drink+food) Le Marché St. George | 4393 St Georgia St, Vancouver

Yelp
Le Marche St. George is a hidden in the residential area of Fraserhood. It's a general store / corner store and a cafe. The place is homey and welcoming. I treated myself to an Americano and a pain au chocolat while I took a seat by the windows and enjoyed the cozy space. Le Marche St. George is a relaxing place to spend the afternoon with some indoor and outdoor seating. I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
I like hidden spots like this - it's the lone café in an otherwise completely residential area, and it doesn't look at all like a café until you get close and see all the people sitting outside. The interior is also woody and rustic, which is matched by the locally made goodies they sell (things like artisanal chocolate, condiments, soap and lotions - the usual crafts). I was there around noon on a Tuesday and it was very busy - it might seem hidden but it's definitely not a secret. I managed to take the one table left outside, but was directly in the sun and it was HOT, so I ended up moving as soon as a shaded table opened up. They serve French baked goods, light meals, and coffee/tea. Love that they have so many tea lattes. I got a tomato confit, herbed goat cheese and arugula sandwich, a butter tart, and an iced creme brulee fog. I really liked the tart and fresh tomato confit, and the croissant was perfectly flaky. It was a little small but priced appropriately for the size. The butter tart was textbook perfect - I wouldn't say there was anything really notable about it, but they could not have done a better job with the basic butter tart. The creme brulee fog may have actually been my favourite thing I ordered - it wasn't too sweet, and the creamy, custardy flavour of the tea was subtle but really unique. I was surprised to only have spent $18 total, making this one of the cheaper sandwich + dessert + drink meals that I've gotten recently. While the portions were smaller than average, the quality was top tier, so I'd still say it's good value. I will be honest and say that with the way I've heard people talk about this place, I expected to be completely whisked away to Europe or a mythical "simpler time", and I was not - I still felt like I was in Vancouver, and that there was nowhere I could be but Vancouver. And although it's a "neighbourhood cafe" by virtue of the location, I didn't really find the atmosphere any more neighbourly than your average downtown coffee shop, not that it was hostile, but the vibe I got from the staff and the other patrons was indifferent, everybody trying to keep to themselves or their own group. Maybe my own blah mood affected my perception. All that being said, with realistic expectations, this is a cool destination, worth going out of my way for to check it out.

Yelp
Came on Saturday morning. The cafe was pretty busy but there were spots to sit. We ordered the croque Monsieur, peach brie crepe, raison roll (escargot), cappuccino and latte. The coffee was pretty strong. The croque Monsieur was a bit hard to cut through but the flavour was delicious. I wish it had a bit more sauce to it but the cheese and ham was enough to give it flavour. The brie peach crepe was not bad. The crepe was thin and wasn't too sweet. It paired nicely with the peach but the brie was a bit too overpowering for me. The atmosphere is very friendly and very neighbourhood oriented. Staff is friendly and lots of places to sit. Love the mismatched chairs and cutlery.

Yelp
Cozy hidden gem in a secluded neighborhood! Not a lot of seating so you may have to get it take out or get lucky that somebody leaves when you are standing! They are known for their crepes and baked goods! We tried their salmon and cheese crepe. Very thin and simple! I liked their fig and camembert croissant so much though WOW. The croissant is so flaky but also chewy on the inside. The perfect balance~! It's pricey but I guess this is normal in Vancouver

Yelp
Le Marche St. George cafe is one of the chillest corner cafes that I've ever been to! Super close to my neighborhood so it makes it convenient to pay them a visit! This homey cafe is incredibly beautiful inside. I love the way they have styled everything down to the furniture, decor. I really love in love with the overall look and feel, especially how rustic everything felt! We came here on a Friday for brunch and they were honestly packed. We did have to wait quite some time to order as the line moves quite slowly but it's quite worth the wait. Service may be a little bit slower but I honestly don't mind - I quite enjoyed how everything was at a slower pace because it reminded me to chill out and not be so antsy all the time for my food. My friend and I were able to score a seat at the window. Seating is hard to come by because the cafe itself is small. Although limited, they do have outdoor seating as well. We enjoyed everything we ate/drank here! I really would love to come back to try their other items on the menu! A little pricey but definitely worth it for the yummy crepes and the entire cafe experience:) BRIE AND PEAR CREPE Brie cheese and pear will always remain such a superior combo and I'm so glad I picked this. It was incredibly rich but well balanced from the sweetness and tartness of the pear. It actually is a lot more filling than it looks and I ended up getting so full after finishing this. HAM AND GRUYERE CREPE This one ended up being my favourite - so simple yet so delicious. I loved how homey it tasted and I literally scarfed this one down so fast! I would 110% order this one again. It's a must. SALMON QUICHE A little but on the drier side but definitely extremely filling and flavourful. It was incredibly savoury and came out piping hot CREME BRÛLÉE LATTE We also both ordered a creme brulee latte each and it tasted so great. A little bit more on the sweeter side but it paired great with our savoury dishes so we didn't mind.

Yelp
I love love love this place!! Came across it on my Instagram feed and this is beyond my expectations!! This is the perfect quaint little nook away from the buzzing city and sometimes we just need that! The place was just incredible! I ordered a iced mocha with oat milk and the spinach croissant. The spinach croissant got me so hooked! It was very creamy and the bread was so flakey! Ohhh, also their lavender macaroon was suuuuper flavourful! The staff were so warm. They made me feel completely welcomed right off the bat! It was lovely to meet such kind people who love what they do!!! I'll introduce this place to my friends! It's a lovely hidden gem!

Yelp
It's a cute local family owned french bakery sitting in the middle of a nice and quiet neighborhood. Friendly people. My friend wanted to go to a french bakery so I looked on yelp for a french bakery. There were a few but this place has high rating and it opens at 9am. We walked in didn't know what to order at first but decided to try their spinach croissant with coffee. Their spinach croissant was really good. My friend and I really liked it and decided to order a few more and a quiche. We were saying if we live in this neighborhood, we would go here quite often.

Yelp
If you're looking to distance yourself from a typical corporate, commercial, cookie-cutter, robotic, predictable coffee shop......try this place. What I loved was that they made a real effort to personalize this place. What I mean by personalize is their attempt to colour, flavour and present the bakery like they've dressed their baby up for some very special people to come and visit. In terms of the look, energy, style and fengshui of the place, I was impressed with the effort and work that's gone into this place that you may walk in and grab your croissant for a few minutes ( see pics). The almond croissant was incredibly fresh. Crispy in all the right places, fluffy in all the right places and the proportions were just perfect with all the ingredients. We also ordered the Smoked Salmon/Goat Cheese Crepe, which I fell in love with instantly....just try it....it was my favourite. I didn't so much like the caramelized poached pear/brie crepe....simply because the crepe had gone very soggy due to the pear juices and I like my crepe light, fluffy and crispy, and the oil from the cheese having been melted and combined with the sweetness of the pear was dancing a bit of an Elaine jig (Seinfeld reference). The coffee was honestly not as good as expected. I mean, if you're going to serve Lamborghini pastries and crepes, you can't be serving Kia coffee (no offence to Kia). There was also a lipstick stain on my mug and that happens, but making sure that all dish-ware is sparkling before reaching your guests' tables would knock it out of the ball park. Honestly, this place is a great place to visit and the only reason I didn't give it 5/5 is because I'm very picky with my coffee....not only the taste, body and flavour but also how it's served.

Yelp
What I love about Le Marche St. George is the sense of community and relaxing atmosphere. Perhaps this is because they are situated in a residential neighbourhood a few blocks away from the bustling Main St. area. If you're wanting to stay awhile and enjoy the rustic charm of the Parisian ambience, I suggest visiting on a weekday as they have limited seating outside and on weekends there are lineups that stretch down the side of the building. I saw a picture of the rose fog on Instagram, which intrigued me. They had lots of other interesting drinks that I haven't tried yet (see attached picture of their menu!) but I decided to stick with my first choice. I was not disappointed! The rose fog was sweet, with subtle floral notes, and it warmed me up inside. Aside from coffee and tea, they sell pastries and other food items (the bestsellers are definitely their crepes). Le Marche St. George also serves as a boutique general store. I live a ways away, so the fact that they stock the Canadian-made, all-natural toner that I use gives me the perfect reason to make a trip here at least twice a year. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time.

Yelp
I've pass ed by this cozy coffee shop a number of times over the years while en route elsewhere, and have always thought "I want to try this place", so when my mum proposed grabbing coffee here before our lunch date, it was a no brainer! The café is housed in a quaint green heritage building; think rustic-chic farmhouse, distressed wood and eclectic touches within (like the huge disco ball atop their pastry display!). There are a few seats outside the coffee shop which are perfect for a dry day, and about 3 window-front stools available. If you want to enjoy your treats there, you'll want to plan accordingly since it's a favourite amongst locals and the go-to in this residential neighbourhood. Once you come in to Le Marché, you'll see a large chalkboard drinks menu above the cashier and a small display of their assorted pastries - multiple types of croissants (butter, ham and cheese, chocolate, almond), pain aux raisins, cinnamon buns (which seem oddly out of place, but tremendously popular), canelé, and so on. You'll also see a procured selection of local goods for sale, artisanal baking goods, cookbooks, kitchenware, coffees and syrups, teas, Jams and honeys, as well as a refrigerated and frozen section including cold beverages, soups, and pre-made meals for folks on the go. While I wasn't tempted by anything, I love looking around. I ordered a chai tea latte with skim milk, my mum ordered a coffee, and somehow we ended up sharing a pain aux raisin (pre-gaming for lunch). We were lucky to score the window seating while we sipped and savoured. The chai latte was disappointing as about half of the small mug was foam (!!!) and the drink should have been hotter. With that said, the flavour of the little latte I had was tasty - I just wish there had been more of it. Oh well. My mum enjoyed her coffee, which was a rich medium roast. The pastry we shared, however, was EXCELLENT! It was so buttery, rich, moist, and simultaneously fluffy with cinnamon raisin goodness. It was exceptional, and had we not already made reservations for lunch, we would have shared another of their pastries. My mum is an incredible baker, and so I've been spoiled with the best homemade treats - we were both wowed by how good this was. It was a pleasant spot to kill about a half hour, and you can tell it's well-loved by local residents who come by with their kids, strollers, pups, laptops, and seem to be on a first-name basis with the staff. It's nice to see. Final verdict - I would recommend this spot for their baked goods and a coffee if you're in the neighbourhood. As I live out at UBC, it's out of the way for me and it wouldn't be a destination (for me), but would definitely be happy to stop here to grab a treat on the way.

Yelp
This cafe is located in a very residential neighbourhood, just on a corner surrounded by residential houses. As a result, there were plenty of parking spaces (although I'm not sure if nearby residents appreciate that...) The cafe was super busy when we went but perhaps it was because of the nice weather. We waited in line for quite awhile before making it inside (only 1 group can go inside to order at a time). However, when it was our turn, we walked in to the register to look at the menu (there is no menu outside) and the staff just looked right past us. We were very confused and then she asked us to go back outside because the person before still needed to pay? Still not sure what happened but it felt a little bit ridiculous that she didn't explain what was going on to us and just asked us to go back outside (felt like we did something wrong). When we did eventually order, we asked to sit inside. They have very limited seating as well. We ordered a latte and a pumpkin spice latte and it took awhile to arrive. And they arrived in bowls. It seemed very odd and I'm still not sure if that's what they always do or if they ran out of cups?? Also odd because the volume of the coffee seems to vary significantly depending on which mug you happen to receive it in. I'm still not sure if we received the correct drinks because one tasted like pumpkin spice but was unsweetened and the other did not taste like pumpkin spice but was very very sweet. Not sure what happened there or if those are just what their drinks are? While we were waiting for our food, we noticed another group ask for their drink to be replaced because it didn't taste like what they had ordered so maybe they were just making a lot of mistakes that day. The coffees took around 5 minutes to arrive but the food we ordered took another 20 minutes!! Which I did not expect from a cafe! It tasted very delicious though. I think I had a very bad experience here but it was just a bad day. Maybe I'll revisit in the future because it seems like this would be a nice cafe on a good day.

Yelp
I have only been once so I can't really say if it's representative of the norm. However, the dark side of me kinda hopes it is! I like this place for two reasons: the coffee is pretty good as you would expect for a cute little coffee shop off the beaten track. But, the true delight of the place is the disdain with which the server dispatched her duties almost reminiscent of the soup nazi in that classic Seinfeld episode. There is a wait line outside the cafe, in which we waited eagerly for our opportunity to present our request. Our chance was signaled with a wave of the hand beckoning our entrance. We started making our request and then we were told to wait as some minor kitchen incident required immediate attention. After finally taking our order we were told to wait outside. COVID rules with which I am totally fine. On our way outside, we noticed it had started raining and a table had opened up so we asked if we could sit inside instead. We were left hanging in limbo for what seemed like an eternity before another server politely checked our COVID passports and we were finally allowed to sit at the table. Ok, I could ramble on about how our order was totally forgotten and had to be specified again, or that it took forever to make the coffee despite having more staff than a typical busy Starbucks. However, the experience was perfectly summed up with the delivery of the latte. This was roughly placed down on the table with half the beautiful froth pattern being spilt on the table. The server promptly dealt with the situation by grabbing some napkins and handing them to us to clear up the spillage as she walked away. Don't get me wrong, this level of service is not to everyone's taste and probably did not warrant the pre-tip I dutifully gave. It did, however, give us the morning giggle we needed to kickstart our day!

C L.

Yelp
So disappointing. Went to the area specifically to try this place. Waited outside for 15mins for a table to free up. As soon as we got a table I went inside to order and found out that they are closing the kitchen due to the heat. No signage had been put up letting people know and I was the first order impacted. Had I ordered while we were waiting for a table it would have been fine. Tried to make the best of it and ordered a couple drinks and items from their bakery case. Drinks were small and not worth the money. Bread pudding was meh. Fritta was good and the only thing worth a star.

Yelp
Love this cute little cafe! Yummy crepes and quiche. Enjoyed the outdoor tables, chairs, and peaceful atmosphere

Sylvia Y.

Yelp
3.5 stars - keep it up! This place is the definition of a NEIGHBOURHOOD GEM seeing so much development happening on the arterial streets, so much appreciation goes out to these dainty + kitschy smaller businesses that cater to the local crowd. NOTE: during covid times, their menu is currently very limited, only serving drinks & sweet takeaway crepes. No savory items or indoor seating available at this time, though outdoor seating is available. 2pm on a sunny weekend, this place is BUSY. I was maybe 10th in line around the block, wait time to order was only 10 minutes (at most) + a reasonable 10 minute wait to pickup. I walked a further distance to come here for brunch to find out about the limited sweets menu, slightly disappointed but understandable with covid in mind. I opted for a butter & sugar crepe and a cortado, with the intent to grab another quick lunch nearby. The crepe batter I believe is whole wheat, I personally was not a fan of the texture because of the grittiness coming through, though I did think the texture was so obvious because of the blander flavour I opted for - don't think it'd be notable at all if used with a more flavourful crepe! The cortado I enjoyed the most - the espresso was very smooth not sour at all & was piping hot made to order, would order this item again. Actually, curious what beans they use! Glad this small business is surviving well during these unprecedented times. Will re-evaluate once the full menu is back in full swing - I do recall I loved their savory crepe options + salad on the side. The kitschy interior decor is also a great place to wander!

Yelp
I'm here for the crepes! I'd seen other yelp reviews, and I love a good crepe, so my husband and I came to visit on a relaxing day when we didn't have anything in particular to do. I'm glad we did! Le Marché St. George is a cute little cafe located in a heritage house on St George Street. It is pretty perfect for a light breakfast if you arrive early. We came just before 9:30am on Sunday, and it got a little crazy after we had ordered. I am not sure I'd come back at the weekend (as I'm not a big fan of queues) but I will definitely pop back for croissants or crepes if I have a day off during the week.

Yelp
went with friends for brunch on a rainy weekeday and i must admit, i was really impressed by this place. it really gives meaning to the term neighbourhood coffee house , as it is located smack right in the middle of a neighbourhood full of residential houses. i wont be surprised if this place used to be someone's house. from the exterior the place looks old and beaten, but inside, your eyes open up to a world of coffee and pastry goodness. ordered drip coffee and americano. drip coffee could be better but the americano is above average. also tried the spicy hot chocolate and it was smooth, decadent, and soothing to the soul on a rainy day. next, we ordered the ham and cheese(gruyere) crossaint and the croque monsieur. all i can say is wow! these 2 savory sandwiches are simply amazing. the gruyere cheese bursting with flavour and the bechamel sauce of the croque simply took the sandiwch to new heights. we also tried the banana bread pudding ( moist and tender and packed full of quality ingredients. the almond croissant topped with shaved almonds. yum! the quality of the croissants made here can easily rival those being baked in Paris. super flaky, soft, and tender. you can taste the skill of the pastry chef behind the scenes. seating can be a huge challenge on a sunny day..the washrooms and its location could also use sine upgrading and extra cleaning. there is literally no space to move around here, even when going to the can. you walk into the prep and kitchen area which is piled with dirty dishes and utensils. i think care or more attention should be given in at least being discreet, as you never know what the customers might think. overall, i would go back again and try the other entrees and sweet things. this neighbourhood is truly blessed to have such a fine establishment. majority of the people who come here simply arrive by foot and are clearly from the area. the servers tho could use a bit more customer service skills...they are very mechanical and appear to be snobbish. cheers! happy eating! cheers! happy eating!

Yelp
tiktok got me headed to Le Marche, and to my surprise, it did not disappoint! Of course there was a lineup of about 5-6 parties ahead, it gave us time to decide what drinks we wanted. I was intrigued by the Rose Fog hot drink and my partner was interested in the matcha. The matcha came in a smaller cup and whoa, it was very concentrated. It wasn't what we were used to, watered down I guess, so it was different and if you like drinks less sweet (or more bitter), this would be a good choice. As for my Rose Fog, it was perfect. Just perfect. I am craving more as I am writing this review. Creamy and sweet. Needless to say, their bakery is just as excellent. We got the almond croissant to share and yes, yes, it was flaky and we finished it very quickly indeed.

Yelp
Okay, besides cute and photogenic, we need actually good and delicious, right? And that's why we came by this morning, because we needed some nice, strong coffee as the raincloud reservoirs seemed on the verge of surrendering their celestial spittle. My usual coffee order is the Americano, which is great on its own or enriched with a splash of cream. The daily offerings handwritten on the chalkboards are both tempting and satisfying, and the refrigerated cases and display shelves are always enjoyable to peruse while you wait. Whether you curl up by the window, perch yourself on a counter stool, or grab a sidewalk seat outside, this is a lovely spot to drop by when you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I had the pork tourtière today for lunch along with their french onion soup (not with beef broth). I really enjoy my lunch. It was perfect for a light snow day in March in Vancouver. The pork tourtiere was delicious, the crust is perfection and the filling is nicely spiced with clove and overall well seasoned. I had their green chai tea to go with my lunch. It is a small space but some people do eat and leave quickly however some are there to chat with old friends. We lucked out with a small round table by the window. It was way too cold to sit outside. On sunnier days, there are always heaps of blanket for outdoor seating. A cozy setting! Didn't have room for their pastries. I also greedily considered ordering their crepes but I know I won't be able to eat it all, ha!

Yelp
A cute little spot hidden in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of street parking and a great quiet place to eat some great French cafe fare. The savoury crepe options are quite limited but I'm not sure if that's because I came late (~1pm) or if it's just not a specialty item. They could only make a ham and cheese one so dietary restrictions are not accommodated. The raspberry lemonade is delicious. It's so refreshing and really hit the spot with the crepe. The sweet crepe is also quite good. Overall, the crepes lacked filling. For the ham and cheese one, I was eating 25% plain crepe. The cinnamon sugar also could have used more cinnamon and sugar. The food was still good despite this. A great place to try and hang out with some friends.

Yelp
Loved this quaint little coffee shop! Hidden in a residential area, this place is sweet! Thanks to Yelp for helping me find you! Cozy and warm (esp. when the oven is on); I needed a place to chill for an hour or two, this place hit the spot. Ordered an Americano and almond croissant, both were just perfect! Locals trickled in; quite the eclectic crowd coming through, from seniors to young moms to young professionals. Gotta come back to try the crepes, they looked divine! Order and pay at counter. Pleasant service. Small sitting area inside: a communal island table (seats about six), a counter with bar stools at the window, and bay window seating on the adjacent side; plus outdoor tables.

Yelp
Pricey food but a cute cafe! Not a great place to study as there are no outlets and limited indoor seating. The croissant sandwich was good and their chai latte is decent. Very instagrammable and lots of free street parking!

Yelp
Vibe: this place totally reminds me of surrey Hills in Sydney Australia !! The really rustic vibe, just without the accent. Great latte art and also affogato!! Love the interior and in such a calm neighborhood! Food; oh my the - savory croissant was ham with mustard Dijon was rly good! I usually don't like mustard but this was really nicely made :) and was prob my favorite dish - sweet crepe was lemon with berries- it was super tart and I realize I don't like stuff like that, but I got a bite of the pear crepe was Delicious!! - chocolate croissant pretty average I def enjoyed it :) -the Paris fog was amazing I'd totally buy the drink and tea bag !!! -affogato was decent, wasn't blown away and pretty pricey cus of expresso shot. -the bread pudding was pretty good! It definitely taste like pudding! -cappuccino taste fine (the latte art is amazing tho!) Price: I split everything with my friend and it was only like 30$ CAD ! Service: they're all really nice and allowed us to use toilet (in the back) . We stayed there for a good 2 hrs haha I'd def come back when I come back to Vancouver !! This is a great area, cafe and I'm so glad they kept it :D !!!

Yelp
I got the turkey and fig savory crepe with a matcha latte on a Friday morning. It was incredible !! I am still dreaming about this crepe and have been itching to make my own fig jam to try to recreate my experience here. The person who took my order was kind and helpful, and my matcha latte came out quickly. They have almond milk as an alternative to dairy milk (possibly other options as well). The crepe came out a few minutes after I had finished my latte, piping hot. The turkey and figs were paired with kale and Gruyere and a side of greens. The perfect amount for a filling breakfast ! This is definitely on my list to come back as soon as I return to Vancouver !

Yelp
Hidden amongst a row of houses in Mount Pleasant is the delightful Le Marche St George. I love this place and wish I could go more often. The space is small and is not a shiny fancy place like most cafes in Vancouver, but that is the charm of this place! It is the rustic charming atmosphere that I love! One corner is lined with delicious pantry items for sale from floor to ceiling which is always hard to resist. My favourite thing to order there are the chai lattes which are served in these massive bowls and the crepes. OMYGOSH the CREPES! Do not leave without trying the crepes, so darn good! And the QUICHE! YAASSSSSS

Yelp
Small neighborhood gathering place for coffee and edibles. During busy times, seating is at a premium. Would be nice to sit outside on a warm sunny day. I found the interior to be a little dark. Maybe it would be brighter if they replaced the burnt out bulbs on their light string? I like the muted jazz in the background and the conversation level was tolerable. Nice and hot americano misto, but no substitute sugar to go with. The buckwheat crepe with turkey, fig, brie and basil was tasty. Also picked up a tortiere and butter tart to enjoy later. I noticed that you don't get a side salad if you order to go. It feels a bit underground, as the their name is not visible on the outside and the building looks like a typical home which blends into the neighborhood. One star less because it took a lot of effort to relax into the cramped environment.

Yelp
What so good about Le Marche? I really don't get it. Le Marche is located on St. George street and 27th/28th Ave. It's a little neighborhood grocery store and cafe in a residential area. When we walked in, I didn't feel comfortable at all! Sticky floor, dirt on window, animal hair on the couch. The other customers behind me seemed like know the staffs and others. They just talked to each other when I was ordering.... The menu was simple for coffee, tea, pastry items and snacks. I ordered chocolate croissant, latte and mocha. Croissant was fresh baked and taste good. The coffee very mediocre. Sorry... It can't be my coffee shop!

Yelp
Quaint Neighbourhood Café - from great coffee to handmade croissants to the best crepes in the city, it is truly a must see in Vancouver. While small suburban neighbourhood shops seem to be a dying breed in the rapid development of Vancouver, seeing a small innovative business like Le Marché St. George thrive is a breath of fresh air. The quality of baked goods is comparable to similar to the likes of Thomas Haas and Beaucoup, while the coffee is nothing to write home about but it Is consistently good quality The Croque Monsieur is the perfect size for a hungover weekend brunch, and the pastries are a great grab and go for the weekdays. It tends to get busy and the space is quite small, so if you are a group larger than two or three you will likely not find a space to sit. Overall I can't wait to comeback and try more of there lunch options. Though a neighbourhood gem Ian's already quite busy, I encourage everyone to make the minimal trek out to try Le Marché St. George and support small local businesses like this.

Martin L.

Yelp
Staff are always friendly, service sometimes takes a bit longer (not a place to go if you're in a huge rush for grab and go food). Their quiches never disappoint! Their chai latte is also delicious. I always make it a point to visit Le Marché whenever I'm close by!

Yelp
So I went back. And I wish I didn't. On picture, this place looks like even. For real, it's just one disappointment after another. The order: Even though I ordered 2 crêpes, I felt like I ordered 20. It took sooooo long to order and pay that my bf went to check on me to see if everything was okay. Don't get me wrong, the guy was nice but terribly slow. The price: $7 for a cinnamon & sugar crêpe is honestly robbery. What's worst? They charge you for the buckwheat option, but it's not written anywhere on the menu. You just get the surprise when it's (finally) time to pay: $7,60. Yay (or not)! The service: - It took more than 15 minutes to get our two crêpes. The place was not busy at the time. There was no order behind us and yet it took 15 minutes to get crêpes. Now I just can't stop thinking about that girl with her "crêpe foodtruck" who, just by herself, makes 3 crêpes at a time in less than a few minutes and has to serve tons of people in a ridiculous amount of time. - My bf and I stayed over 1h at this place, and during the WHOLE TIME, our neighbour was a pile of dirty dishes. No one came to pick it up, not even the girl who brought us our plates, nor the other one (the boss?) who did several back and forths to open the front door. - The girl making the drinks (the boss?) and sometimes taking care of the customers' orders didn't stop touching her hanging hair and face: gross! The food: It was SO BAD that I couldn't even eat half of it. How on earth is it possible to mess up crêpes? Like honestly? It's like the easiest thing on earth. Kids can do it! Do they really think their customer are that stupid? The buckwheat just tasted like the little blue carbon paper dentists put between your teeth when doing an occlusal equilibration. That was totally disgusting. Going back? Hell, no! While I can understand that croissants might be hard to make for businesses here, there's absolutely no excuse for crêpes. If you're making your business around crêpes, just get good at it!

Yelp
Amazing little gem in the middle of a suburban neighborhood in Vancouver. It feels like a little cafe in Paris. The crepes were incredible. We had the ones with nutella. It seems to be a very popular place. Its very convenient for working people in for a quick breakfast or to grab a coffee. Lots of sitting room inside or outside, if you want to stay and enjoy your meal. A local told us that the city had tryied to shut it down and the locals threw a fit so it remains open !!!!

Frank E.

Yelp
And all I will say is if you are in the area you need to eat here! Seating was limited but we ended up sharing a table with another couple and had the nicest meal together with good conversation!! Great start to our Saturday!! Share a sweet and a savory crepe - they're sized well to do this and what a great way to taste this yummy food!!

Yelp
During these unprecedented times, I'm trying to do my part to "help small businesses" but I'd expect a better and friendlier attitude, it's not like the prices here are cheap and we still tipped for take out. We ordered a few drinks and my elderly father wanted to stand by one of the trees outside to catch his breath and enjoy his coffee. There was NO one around, and heck the property on the other side of the sidewalk does not belong to le Marche! The girl was very rude and told my dad "Don't sit long". And not in a friendly way, she really meant it with her RBF. Is that really necessary? we were there for 2 minutes after receiving our coffee. We understand to stay our distance and would've left if others were waiting, but no one was there. If you don't want to open or serve people, just shut your doors. It was especially off putting when we asked for sugar. I really felt like I annoyed her and she wanted to chop my head off.. like no body ever asks for sugar at a coffee shop *rolls eyes* I'm sure all she wanted to do was get back on her phone. She tells me the "machine has been sanitized", part of me doesn't believe her cuz she seems SO uninterested in her job. Super rude service, I'm sorry but not all small businesses deserve to survive during the pandemic.

Yelp
Stopped for coffee and quick bite. Depleted choice as I was expected. Woman who served us was rude, unpleasant, and obviously not happy to be there. Ordered 2 cortados, and a $9.00 quiche, which came on a large plate with nothing else. When I noticed that other quiches were coming out with a small serving of greens on their plate, the same rude girl basically lied to me and said that greens were extra, and that I should have ordered it. I have always enjoyed Marche St George and their product. But a server is the face of your business, and in a city like Vancouver where good coffee shops abound, service should be friendly, engaging, and warm. Everything that woman was not.

Lindsay K.

Yelp
Loved everything about this small cafe! The friendly service, interesting interior, neighbourhood feel, and especially the food. We got a couple pastries to share, the best was the bread pudding which was amazing! Also had the ham and bacon quiche which was a large portion & came with salad on the side. I didn't get coffee but tried my friend's iced latte which was delicious. I can't wait to come back here for another lazy weekend brunch!

Yelp
such an adorable little place in the middle of residential streets! i came here for a lunch date with my mom and we both enjoyed the ambience and the food. my favourite thing we got was an almond croissant which was flaky but also soft without being too buttery. we finished this whole thing both as an appetizer and dessert to our meal. we also tried one of their buckwheat crepes being fig jam, turkey and brie and i have to say, the flavours were...interesting. i think the buckwheat overpowered the other flavours a little bit but i LOVE buckwheat so that wasn't a huge deal. i think next time I'm gonna try something with a stronger cheese since the brie wasnt very noticeable. finally, we got a salmon and dill quiche which i really enjoyed! the pastry was light and crispy with just a touch of flakiness and the filling wasn't too salty. there wasn't much salmon but the texture of the quiche was on point! overall, the service is a little slow and the food not as fantastic as i expected, but its just so adorable that you can't help but love it.

Yelp
Lovely little place of the beaten path. Their specialty are crepes, but they also have small nibbles, coffee and ice cream. We got the croque monsieur and the olive&caramelized onion Flatbread. Both were pretty good. The CM had a very healthy amount of dijon mustard, something that is not mentioned on their chalkboard menu overhead; I don't like dijon mustard, so it was not something I'd have wanted and had to scrape it off the sandwich to be able to even eat it. The Flatbread was very good, and no comments there. Had the apple juice, which is fresh squeezed. Great spot for a simple small bite
