Le Massif Courmayeur

My experience was truly wonderful from beginning to end.||I booked my stay through a Fora travel advisor and as Leaders Club member, and my experience began with a very generous upgrade to a beautiful mountain view suite. The suite was stunning. I loved the incredible mountain views from the bedroom, beautiful bathroom, and the comfortable living room. It made the stay feel very special.||Every part of the visit was excellent. Room service was delicious, and the massage and spa experience was extremely relaxing. The heated ski lockers on the mountain were very convenient, and I especially enjoyed après-ski at the lounge there. I was also very grateful that the hotel arranged a very late checkout, which allowed me to fully enjoy our final day of skiing, afternoon spa appointment, and dinner without any stress.||The true highlight of the stay was the exceptional service provided by Sofia Carrizo. From the moment I arrived until after I had already left the hotel, Sofia went above and beyond. I had wanted an early dinner reservation, and Sofia kindly arranged for me to dine at 6:30 pm, before the restaurant officially opened. She was always attentive, friendly, and available whenever I had questions.||Most importantly, after I had checked out, it was discovered that I had accidentally left my medication in the room. Sofia immediately called me to let me know and arranged for a staff member to personally deliver my medication to me at the bus stop. This was an incredibly thoughtful and caring gesture. Without her help, I would have returned to Chamonix without my medication, which would have been very difficult for me. I will never forget her kindness.||I was truly impressed by the service, the hotel, and especially Sofia’s dedication and care. I will gladly recommend Le Massif Hotel to anyone traveling to Courmayeur, and I sincerely hope to return in the future.

This hotel does not come close to living up to 5star rating. For the amount we paid for a week’s stay- about 8,000 EURO the experience was extremely underwhelming and frustrating from start to finish. The rooms were very small and unremarkable, and the overall level of service was consistently poor. Right from the beginning, there were issues. We checked in early and left my toddler’s yogurts and a few personal items at the front desk while waiting for our room. After our bags were delivered, no one could locate those items, and staff had no idea where they had gone. It was concerning, especially considering how casually the situation was handled, it made us wonder what would have happened if something more valuable had been left behind. We were also greeted with badly stained sheets, which had to be changed. 5 star? You tell me. Dining was another MAJOR disappointment. The menu offered extremely limited choices, and for a longer stay, it quickly became repetitive since it never changed. Service in the restaurant was unreliable, with orders frequently forgotten or incorrect. Almost every bill included items we hadn’t ordered, which became exhausting to constantly question. Breakfast was mediocre and uninspiring. What stood out most was the lack of genuine hospitality. The staff felt impersonal and disengaged, treating guests like numbers rather than people. Any feedback or small complaints were met with indifference. Throughout our stay, we overheard many other guests expressing similar frustrations. We even spoke to people on the slopes and local residents who confirmed that complaints about service at this hotel are common. The only convenience was the close access to the ski lift and their ski lodge at the top where you can store your ski equipment. We were relieved to leave and will never stay here again. I’ve traveled extensively and rarely leave reviews, but this experience felt like a significant waste of money for what was, without question, one of the worst hotel stays we’ve had. Cue the passive aggressive response...

We stayed twice at Hotel Massif in Courmayeur this August, booking both times through Fine Hotels American Express. From the very beginning, the welcome and benefits exceeded our expectations: a warm yet professional reception, with a genuinely attentive staff. Despite their young appearance, the team was remarkably efficient, responsive, and precise.|On our first visit, we were upgraded to a spacious suite with two separate living areas, a generous bathroom featuring both a bathtub and a walk-in shower. On the second stay, we received a deluxe room with a spectacular view of Mont Blanc. Standard rooms, however, are on the smaller side; for longer stays, we strongly recommend opting for at least a Junior Suite to enjoy more comfort and space.|That said, even though the hotel is fairly new, a few small details could be improved: some balcony door handles were not working properly, the minibar noise at night could be bothersome, and corridor doors, while solid, did not fully block out voices and sounds from corridor. We would recommend higher-floor rooms away from the elevators for a quieter experience.|Breakfast, while adequate, did not quite reach the level of refinement expected for a 5-star property. Service, however, was noticeably better during our second stay at the end of August compared to the beginning of the month. Room cleanliness was acceptable, though in a hotel of this category, small oversights should not occur.|Valet parking was impeccable—fast and reliable—with the added advantage of a covered garage, an absolute necessity in Courmayeur (virtually impossible to find parking outside in summer, and in winter it’s indispensable).|The hotel’s location is outstanding: just steps from the town center and, for ski enthusiasts, right next to the cable car that whisks you up to the slopes. The spa is small and must be reserved, but treatments and massages are professional and deeply relaxing.|While there are a few areas that could be polished, Hotel Massif remains one of the few top choices in Courmayeur. Competition in town is generally mid- to low-level, and although a few other luxury properties exist, they are located outside Courmayeur and therefore far less convenient. For anyone wanting a pleasant stay right in the heart of the village, this is by far one of the few best option.

Great small hotel. Wonderful service. Great restaurant recommendations. Awesome front desk team. Small comes through though... in room size, bfast options... Wonderful one night experience and the staff definitely made the stay better.

This is a more upscale hotel for our hiking tour of Mount Blanc. Great location. Lovely property - modern, clean, well maintained. We used the Bioaquim - which requires a reservation (presumably to manage the amount of guests using hot tub/sauna/steam at any one time). The hot tub was luke warm - at least by American standards it would be considered cold. There were 2 saunas and also a little on the cool side. The steam room was great though in terms of the temp being hot enough. The spa area itself is small, but lovely and well maintained. We ate in the hotel. Restaurant a little fancy in a good way - and meal was good. Room was very modern, nice size with nice amenities (like a robe!), enjoyed watching a little TV to relax in the room too. Bed was comfortable and I slept well. Only here for 1 night but could have stayed a few nights here and enjoyed the lovely town. Good location.

Stayed here in August as part of a hiking trip. Overall the hotel was nice but we encountered quite a few issues during our stay that made this quite a bit less than “5 stars”.||- Ordered wine from the in room mini bar service. Wine wasn’t cold when it was delivered, did not come with wine glasses, and we had to call twice in order for it to be delivered.||- Room was very hot/warm. I know it’s unusual for hotels in Italy to have air conditioning, but come on, this place is 5 stars and $300/night. We opened the window but the hotel faces a noisy street. We slept better in small pensiones ||- We asked for a fan and the hotel gave us a fancy Dyson air circulator, but with no remote, so we had no way to control the speed/direction of the fan. Honestly a cheap manual man would have been better||- Maid took one of our keys (and took it with her) from the “power slot” by the door after we left the room one day without removing it. I’m not in favor of wasting power, but in some hotels devices don’t charge without leaving a key in the slot. Again, I just felt hassled given the expense of the hotel.||- Hotel has a nice sauna/jacuzzi area but you have to make a reservation and are limited to one hour a day. Jacuzzi water is tepid but that seems normal for European hotels||- Breakfast was great.

We had a great 4 night stay here in July 2025. Breakfast was great and the service during breakfast was very attentive. Rooms were well appointed and spacious. Spa was good, my only feedback was the “emotional” showers in the spa, one way too hot and the other too cold, it would be better to have the choice to control the temperature. Service at the front desk was also excellent. Location just 10min walk to the centre via Roma.

We booked through Amex travel and we were not disappointed. 5* amenities - they help you with your luggage, park you car and bring you to your room. We got a room upgrade to a beautiful suit and a stunning view of the mountains. The massage was great - the Spa small but very enjoyable. Only thing to complain would be the missing AC. Definitely recommended!
