Le Méridien Barcelona

"How did it strike you on arrival? While most hotels of this caliber play it safe with grays, whites, and beiges, the lobby of Le Méridien is awash with color. Finally, a five-star hotel that isn’t afraid to stand out. What’s the crowd like?Chic and stylish but not too glitzy. Tell us about your room.Timeless and elegant, rooms are inspired by modernist design and architecture and reflect the style and feel of the city outside. Contemporary features include an Illy coffee machine, audiovisual panel with HDMI connection, USB ports universal power outlets, and Bose Bluetooth speakers. What are the beds like?Le Méridien signature king-size or double beds. A choice of feather or hypoallergenic pillows. How's the bathroom?Le Méridien’s bathrooms feature a stimulating shower system for anyone who enjoys a long, comforting rinse after a busy day exploring the city. Take advantage of the vitamin A5 body moisturizer, sage body wash, peppermint shampoo, and cilantro conditioner, all from Malin + Goetz. How's the connectivity?Guests of the hotel get up to 3MB of free Wi-Fi. Anything stand out about other services and features?Custom-made artwork and asymmetric designs run throughout the rooms and common areas, reinforcing the artsy vibe that throughout. Le Méridien also offers its “Unlock Art” program, with complimentary access to galleries and institutions for the culturally curious traveler. Le Méridien’s cultural partner in Barcelona is Palau Güell, a modernist masterpiece by everyone’s favorite local creative Antoni Gaudí. What was most memorable about your stay?Le Méridien’s keen interest in Barcelona's art and design is a huge part of any stay here. Ask the staff for more information about discovering the Art Nouveau pieces situated around the hotel. Bottom line: worth it, and why?The Deluxe Premium is a decent-size room in a centrally located five-star hotel. It's an undeniably good value for money." - Isabelle Kliger

The Hotel sits at La Rambla, only 200 m away from the Placa de Catalunya.|Old building but nicely renovated in a modern style.|Our room was small, with a worn carpet. Thin walls, you can hear your neighbour cough. Good shower.|Ok fitness center though no multigym station.|There is a spa studio and a very small outdoor pool with an adjacent small terrace on the top floor. But no sun umbrella.|Good concierge service.|Restaurant Cent Once for good breakfast buffet.|Room prices more on the higher side i. e. the hotel is quite expensive.

Ideal location right on La Rambla close to Gothic Quarter and easy access to Metro. Hotel staff always friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning and our room was available immediately. Breakfast buffet had a wide range of options including local specialties. Ricardo, our concierge, shared excellent restaurant recommendations and was very helpful with directions around the city. We found this to be the ideal place to stay for our first visit to Barcelona.

We had a wonderful stay in every way. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bellhop welcomed us with bottles of water before we even reached the front desk. Our room was spacious with all of the old school amenities of a bygone era: robes, slippers, shoe mitt, tooth brush, toothpaste, and shower cap. The room was quiet, and we slept well. We were nervous that the area would be loud from the street but it wasn’t. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was modern with a rain shower fixture. We did have trouble getting the right water temperature. The staff always had a spot on great suggestion for dinner, and they would literally walk us out the front door and point the way. They also were very helpful mapping out the best shoe stores and how to get there. We would stay again!

This was a one day extension at the end of a cruise so we literally only used this room as a base for a guided tour of Barcelona and to shower and sleep ahead of a very early flight the following day. The location is perfect with vibrant city life just outside the main entrance and is very close to great tapas bars, restaurants, shopping, architecture and history ... all within a short walk on La Rambla. The room was cool and clean. There was a protest going on with an idiot on a megaphone griping about something until late but that was no fault of the hotel. We drowned it out with the TV. We left too early to appreciate the buffet and we did not use the onsite restaurant (with 20% hotel coupon) as we wanted to walk and see all we could in the short time we had. The hotel had hot, fresh coffee and croissants available for us in the lobby at our early departure. Staff were very pleasant and able to assist us in English. I must restate that this location was perfect for our needs as it was close to everything and an easy trip to the airport.

Good Day !||Mr. Director, thank you very much for your hospitality and for the personalized welcome you gave us, the hotel guests. Thank you for the room that was already waiting for us. A wonderful hotel, a wonderful location, and a wonderful change in the decor in the CentOnze restaurant, which now features a vegan station with fresh vegetable juices—my favorite is the carrot juice. Congratulations on the idea! A small change made a huge, positive difference to the experience. The rooms were perfectly cleaned and the air conditioning was silent and efficient every day. The staff was welcoming, recognizing us at every step; we felt very safe and at home. The service at the hotel reception, restaurant, and front of house was impeccable. We send our best regards to the staff and wish them a 101% occupancy rate year-round, because it's the people who create the atmosphere and success of this place, every day. Thank you, and see you at the end of the year. ||Robert and Aldona Szparaga

In the heart of the city, this was a great end to our visit to Barcelona. Coming off a 10 day cruise we stayed for one night and wished we could've stayed longer. Our rooms were ready early and we were able to enjoy the spa and outdoor relaxation area. Rooms were clean, very big and the bathrooms were amazing. Loved the water pressure! Staff was very helpful and courteous. I would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Le Meridien Barcelona. At check-in we had a small issue with our qualified reservation rate, but the staff quickly helped us resolve everything. The location could not be better – right on La Rambla, perfectly connected to the rest of the city.||Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and the staff was warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable.||Overall, we were very satisfied and will definitely return on our next visit to Barcelona!

Great place to stay. It’s a bit pricey compared to other similar hotels in the immediate area but the staff is ‘top shelf’ especially the doormen, concierge and security staff. They are all great and made us feel welcomed and safe. It’s nice that breakfast was included (vs using Marriott points to accumulate more miles/points). The buffet breakfast food provided a decent amount of options.
