Le Méridien Barcelona

"How did it strike you on arrival? While most hotels of this caliber play it safe with grays, whites, and beiges, the lobby of Le Méridien is awash with color. Finally, a five-star hotel that isn’t afraid to stand out. What’s the crowd like?Chic and stylish but not too glitzy. Tell us about your room.Timeless and elegant, rooms are inspired by modernist design and architecture and reflect the style and feel of the city outside. Contemporary features include an Illy coffee machine, audiovisual panel with HDMI connection, USB ports universal power outlets, and Bose Bluetooth speakers. What are the beds like?Le Méridien signature king-size or double beds. A choice of feather or hypoallergenic pillows. How's the bathroom?Le Méridien’s bathrooms feature a stimulating shower system for anyone who enjoys a long, comforting rinse after a busy day exploring the city. Take advantage of the vitamin A5 body moisturizer, sage body wash, peppermint shampoo, and cilantro conditioner, all from Malin + Goetz. How's the connectivity?Guests of the hotel get up to 3MB of free Wi-Fi. Anything stand out about other services and features?Custom-made artwork and asymmetric designs run throughout the rooms and common areas, reinforcing the artsy vibe that throughout. Le Méridien also offers its “Unlock Art” program, with complimentary access to galleries and institutions for the culturally curious traveler. Le Méridien’s cultural partner in Barcelona is Palau Güell, a modernist masterpiece by everyone’s favorite local creative Antoni Gaudí. What was most memorable about your stay?Le Méridien’s keen interest in Barcelona's art and design is a huge part of any stay here. Ask the staff for more information about discovering the Art Nouveau pieces situated around the hotel. Bottom line: worth it, and why?The Deluxe Premium is a decent-size room in a centrally located five-star hotel. It's an undeniably good value for money." - Isabelle Kliger

Titanium Bonvoy Member who LOVES this place - already looking forward to our next visit … even amongst the construction and vibrancy of La Rambla. Why else would you stay here?! ||YES, plumbing construction is happening at the entrance of the hotel (what can you expect about the plumbing of an ancient city?!). Our driver pulled onto the sidewalk while the bellhop’s quickly and calmly unloaded our heavy luggage and brought it into the hotel. As we unloaded the car, we were immediately greeted by hotel staff (very attractive btw) who insisted on cold water and relaxation. ||While we waited for our rooms, we had an exceptional lunch in the adjacent restaurant where Edgar attended to our every need. Kids were completely jet lagged and ready for a room which took awhile to get ready… the restaurant and Edgar made sure we were satisfied with our meal and drinks.|Our rooms, although being on a street under construction with jack hammers, was surprisingly quiet. The hotel staff did everything they could to ensure we were comfortable… brought us multiple bottles of water, champagne, etc. The front staff kept ensuring us our rooms would be accommodating and it was true. |Traveling from far, I did not expect a full size hairdryer AND flat iron!! What a great a surprise after enjoying a very nice shower with tub, plus robe and slippers! |Room accommodations are one of the best I’ve ever seen and hotel staff is by far more accommodating than any of the many Marriotts I’ve stayed in the U.S. (And trust me, I LOVE Marriott’s in the US for their hospitality).|The experience I’ve had at the La Méridien makes me anxious to return to explore more of Barcelona . |Th

Great place to stay. It’s a bit pricey compared to other similar hotels in the immediate area but the staff is ‘top shelf’ especially the doormen, concierge and security staff. They are all great and made us feel welcomed and safe. It’s nice that breakfast was included (vs using Marriott points to accumulate more miles/points). The buffet breakfast food provided a decent amount of options.

My fiancé and I recently visited Barcelona for the first time. We were hesitant about our hotel as it was booked through Costco travel. We could not have been more wrong. Our experience was LeMéridien great, receiving top service from the beginning. ||The staff were accommodating and extremely friendly. They allowed us to check into our hotel hours early after a long flight. They knew it was our anniversary and provided us with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne as a courtesy. The location was wonderful and right close to the famous food market - my fiancé and I were beyond thrilled. ||The daily breakfast was delicious. I especially appreciate the staff who continually checked in on us to make sure we were having a good stay and provided us with whatever questions we needed answered or little things that we needed for the room. || I would 100% stay here again. Thanks for making our trip to Barcelona great!

Overall I would recommend this hotel. From a noise level side, it was shockingly quiet, even with the construction outside on the main street, it was very minimal to what could be heard. Even with the hotel being pretty consistently busy, we didn't really head anything from other rooms or the hallway. This hotel is in a great central location of the city. A lot of things were very walkable. The beds were comfortable and the room was nice. My only issue would be that the tub/shower was a large step and it was much larger than I have seen at any other Marriott. The person I am traveling with has mobility issues and was nervous getting in and out to shower. Though they had installed hand rails and those did help. Overall I would recommend. Everything was clean and taken care of and we didn't have any issues with the staff.

Stared a two week road trip in Barcelona, and stayed at Le Méridien for one night at the start of the trip (room 210) then for 3 nights (room 341) at the end. The rooms were nearly identical, except 210 had a tub / shower (which had quite a high step to get into) and 341 had a shower. 210 also faced La Rambla and had a tiny balcony. That was nice, but La Rambla is pretty crowded and noisy. We were fresh off a direct flight from SFO (or perhaps not-so-fresh), so all we wanted to do was sleep. The noise from the street was a bit loud. When we returned to Barcelona we asked for a quiet room, and got 341, which we enjoyed.||When checking in the first time, we parked our rental car on La Rambla. Someone from the hotel staff quickly unloaded our luggage and moved our car to the hotel parking lot. If you go with a car, there is a loading zone on Carrer Del Pintor Fortuny, which is at the hotel entrance. It is much easier to pull up there than to park on La Rambla.||The staff was very warm and helpful. Everyone spoke English.||The rooms had all the usual travel amenities: a safe, a refrigerator (stocked with mini-bar items), coffee and tea, bathrobes, and slippers.||We had breakfast included, and it was very good. They have an omelet / egg station, and a very good assortment of breakfast foods, including a number of Catalonian and Spanish items. Very good fresh fruit juices and sparkling wine (who doesn't want a mimosa with breakfast?). We also had one lunch and one dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and enjoyed both.||The hotel is situated in easy walking distance of the Santa Caterina and El Born districts of Barcelona and just up the street from the big market (Mercat de la Barcelona), making it easy to visit some interesting sights, shopping, and food.

As a seasoned travel advisor, staying at the properties I recommend is a vital part of my job—and from the moment we walked into Le Méridien Barcelona, I knew we had chosen the right one.||We arrived early from a cruise (well before check-in time), and while rooms typically aren’t available until 3:00 PM, I kindly asked about any possible upgrades—even offering to pay—simply to have a space to drop our bags, freshen up, and begin exploring Barcelona. To my pleasant surprise, the front desk went above and beyond. With the help of the incredibly gracious General Manager, Juan, we were immediately accommodated and upgraded to the Penthouse Suite.||This suite was an absolute dream: full panoramic views of the city, a spacious layout with a dedicated office area, and a luxurious bathroom featuring heated floors, double sinks, and a rainfall shower. Every room was flooded with natural light and stunning cityscapes—our first steps into the suite were genuinely breathtaking.||The concierge team was equally impressive, offering excellent local dining recommendations and helpful reminders about city safety—especially regarding pickpocketing (common in all major European cities). Their attention to detail made us feel secure and well-cared for. They even reminded us that valuables are safest in-room, stored properly in the provided safe—a thoughtful, practical touch that clients always appreciate.||This is why I confidently continue to send clients to Le Méridien Barcelona. Now that I’ve stayed here myself, I can speak firsthand to the quality, service, and value. The location is unbeatable for first-time visitors and seasoned travelers alike.||As for reviews claiming it’s “not luxury”—let’s be honest: European luxury is different from U.S. luxury. It’s authentic, personal, and rooted in experience rather than over-the-top formality. If you know, you know.||Highly recommended.

Marriott should stop claiming that their hotels are 5 star establishments as this one is not. The hotel is old shabby and needs a major upgrade. Our room was large enough but everything in it was either scratched broken or uncomfortable. For starters the bedsheets were stained and not of high quality. The bed was old and not comfortable. All of the furniture was scratched and the towels were thin stained and fall apart when you use it. Also you can hear your neighbors talk and hear the water run when you they use the shower. The toilet takes more than five flushes to flush, YUCK! The restaurant is shabby with thrift store furniture and carpets. On a positive note the restaurant food is excellent as is their breakfast. Also the workout room was nice and functional. I do not recommend this hotel until they renovate it and stop advertising it as a five star luxury hotel!

We always love our home away from home in beautiful Barcelona. We have stayed at many high end properties here in town but our favorite that we always come back to is Le Meridien- and we come back most of all for the people here. |Salvador the general manager who always greets us with warm open hugs and besos, front desk ladies and gentlemen, especially Amaia, who Always tries their best to accommodate early check in (as I usually fly in on the red eye) to the wonderful hostess and manager at Centonze to the housekeeping staff that always brings my kids and I extra waters when we visit in the summer time, the bell menu- Eddy, ali, inaki (my son's favorite), Bruno who helps my husband and I from car rentals to looking for lost items in my room, and Diana from room service who brings me my yummy truffles during the turn down service. My kids and I just love it here and this is truly my family's home away from home. Muchas gracias por todo always ❤️
