"Overwater Bungalows: Le Méridien Bora Bora, French Polynesia After you’ve canoed, sailed, scuba dived, and visited the resort’s sanctuary for the critically endangered hawksbill turtle, you’ll be ready to recline on your patio for a view of the extinct 2,300-foot Mount Otemanu volcano. —Brendan Brady By Afar Magazine"

"Help save turtles by swimming with them Not much beats swimming with sea turtles, but you’ll probably need to spend several hours in the lagoon to have much chance of encountering one in the wild. Otherwise, visit the Marine Turtle Protection Center at Le Meridien Bora Bora. Guests and non-guests alike are welcome to observe—and swim with—growing juveniles and rehabilitating older turtles in a protected lagoon. The most common species are green and hawksbill turtles, which can grow up to three to five feet long. The area also acts as a coral nursery, where the reef can regenerate and thrive."

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for three nights on our honeymoon, and it was pure bliss. We splurged on an over-water bungalow, and although it may be a once in a lifetime experience, we are certainly glad we did, as it was amazing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with whatever requests we had. The views of the island and the water were absolutely stunning, both from our bungalow and from the beach. The resort area is huge, which makes it never feel too busy, which is very nice. The food was very tasty with a decent amount of variety. The only real negative I'd have (and it's a small one) is the snorkeling isn't that great from the resort, but I think that's the same with basically all of the Bora Bora resorts. If you are planning a trip to Bora Bora definitely consider Le Meridien!

This place is simply fantastic! When you imagine going to Bora Bora, this is the spot to do it. The staff were extremely nice, the location is paramount, and the experience is unforgettable. Regarding the food, beware that it is quite pricey, but to be expected with the location - very tasty, nonetheless. I did not do any excursions but still had an amazing time bouncing between the lagoon, beach, and my staircase leading to the water.

There are no words to convey how incredible this property is… The staff was phenomenal- friendly, kind, fun, professional. The food was amazing. The customer service was out of this world- the tour when we arrived, the honeymoon t-shirts and champagne, the welcome dock!!!! I never wanted to leave my overwater bungalow- the glass floor, the deck, THE VIEW!!!!! I loved how you could make the resort what you wanted- you could be causal or dressy… You could relax and just veg out or you could spa, do water sports and go on excursions. I loved feeding the fish at breakfast and watching the sunset during happy hour. I LOVED that the property had a sea turtle rehabilitation center and we were able to swim with and visit with the sea turtles. The property was small and beautiful and I can only dream of returning one day. I returned home relaxed and so incredibly content

Spent several days here in our first-ever over the water bungalow and WOW! Photos can't do it justice as how amazing it was! We had the meal plan which was a great addition to our stay - short walk to the best Poisson cru we tasted all trip! And I can't speak highly enough about the staff - ALWAYS friendly, helpful and truly made our stay that much better. Cathy took such great care of us - always greeted us by name, brought us things before we even knew we needed them and was a highlight of our trip my husband always remembers. We plan to return some day and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this resort to everyone!

A gorgeous resort in front of Bora Bora island. Bungalow on the sea are nice and they have a glass on the floor where you can see the sea inside you room. Room are clean a full of things and complementary accessories. You have a balcony where you can have bath sun and splash directly into the clear and blue water. Breakfast is good. The only negative thing is that I felt myself to much in a golden cage and I did not really felt the local feeling.

Went here for the second half of our honeymoon and it was the best experience of our lives. Gorgeous views, amazing activities, and the best accommodations I've ever seen. Our bungalow over the water was AMAZING! The food at the hotel was well made and the drinks were perfect. We'll be coming back here soon.

Mostly fantastic! Arrival at the airport, boat to the hotel, the over water room gorgeous, views all around were amazing. The food was good but nothing to write home about. I would rank it average when compared to other resorts. The expense of food and drinks are off the charts. Was approx $24us for a cocktail. Domestic hinanu beer was approx $7.50.. about normal. Dinner buffet was good but again, off the charts expensive. We only ate there once. My wife didn't feel well (not food related) and only ate a little. We opted to leave early, the hostess felt bad for her so she discounted our meal. The discounted price was still over $100us. Also, there was termites in our room. We can deal with a few termites, but we called room service 2 separate occasions 24 hours apart and nothing was done. No one came to check or address the issue. Finally I chased down the house keeping manager and got a can of spray from her. Sprayed out own room and solved the issue on our own. Later we crossed paths with the hotel host and he offered us a new room. We opted to stay where we were as we took care of the termites. All in all it was a good experience. I would recommend this hotel to others. Good overall with some glitches.
