Where to Stay in Boston When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"This contemporary four-star hotel offers modern, spacious rooms, a 24-hour gym, a rooftop terrace, and an on-site French restaurant serving elevated traditional cuisine; I found the property immaculate with very comfortable beds and good shower pressure, and it’s within walking distance of Harvard and MIT." - Matthew Kepnes

This hotel is further out of the centre but we loved it as it is in a quieter area and still easy to access the centre of Boston by public transport. There are buses & subway. The river is a 15 mins walk. We went kayaking one afternoon. A bottle is supplied in the room to refill with water & there is a fridge. It was nice to have glass instead of plastic glasses. Our only comment was that the water refill station on our floor provided warm water but there is a fridge in the room. |Bathroom was nice & clean & rooms refreshed daily. |The buffet breakfast choice was good & they accommodated my coeliac son with gluten free options. The chef made him his own omelette each day & provided gluten free bread. |Plenty of local places to eat & a gluten free bakery around the corner! We used the Target supermarket to source supplies for lunch.

I spend 80–100 nights per year on the road, and the staff at Le Méridien Boston/Cambridge is by far among the very best. They were incredibly accommodating to our group of friends, who arrived in the wee hours of the morning due to major delays at Logan.||The front desk assistant manager helped us secure connecting rooms, a day manager assisted with modifying one of our reservations, and the front desk manager kindly allowed a much later-than-usual checkout for one of our rooms when our departure flights faced rolling, multi-hour delays.||The rooms were clean, with very comfortable beds. For a group of friends reuniting for the first time in over two decades, the Le Méridien staff truly went above and beyond to make our visit hassle-free, pleasant, and thoroughly enjoyable.||Thank you!

We stayed at the Le Meridien Cambridge last weekend for a wedding. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The staff was very accommodating, especially Jacob. It was very nice to be recognized and acknowledged as I passed through the lobby and he was quick to respond to my requests. We also enjoyed lounging with our friends each day on the 3rd floor deck. This location worked well for us to walk to the campuses of Harvard and M.I.T.

Jacob the assistant front office manager was so incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area! He provided amazing details of on going events near by along with speedy guest service. Tonya the f&b manager was also so kind and helpful, truly made my experience there pleasurable. She went above and beyond for my party in the restaurant. I will definitely recommend this location and return on behalf of them and their entire staff.

This was a great hotel located close to a subway stop and only took a few minutes to get into the centre of Boston. The rooms were a good size and comfortable and it was quiet. There are free water refill stations and a fridge in the room. The front desk staff were lovely and very helpful. The only thing that let this hotel down were the breakfast staff. They were rude and unwelcoming. Food wasn't replenished at the buffet in a timely manner. It took 15 minutes for the fruit to be topped up after asking and 10 minutes for the pastries to be topped up. We had a special rate for breakfast and this seemed to confuse them and they kept telling us we had got it wrong. The man on the first day, I think he was called Vinny, was incredibly rude to us. We eventually had to go to the front desk and ask them to speak to the breakfast staff. This happened on 2 out of our 3 mornings there. There was no customer service. The food itself was good. The chefs cooked omelettes and eggs fresh and there was a good selection of fresh fruit and pastries when they were replenished alongside various types of bread. It was just a shame the staff let it down.

The physical plant of this hotel is very dated—shockingly so—and not up to the Le Meridien brand. It looks and feels like a Marriott from the 1990s and is not nearly as nice as the typical Westin. The bathroom had an old-fashioned tub and shower combination, the hallway carpets looked dirty (not sure if they were dirty or the colors just gave that impression) and the lobby is like a time warp to 30 years ago. I was quite displeased and felt I did not get the value I expected. The breakfast restaurant has kind of a sad, empty feeling and feels neglected. Had I reserved more than one night, I would have left after the first night.

Terrible experience from the start. Tried to call the hotel ahead of our visit multiple times to discuss parking options and no one ever picked up. The only one being $55 in the garage next door. The lobby bathrooms were out of order when we arrived. They gave us one free glass of prosecco not two for the both us which was awkward and we wanted to run out of the bar from the fruit flies. Room carpets sticky and stained. Terrible lighting in the room. At this price point, this has not been a good experience.

This hotel feels like an old holiday in. It’s like they ordered these beds off wayfair. And had a person from thumbtack handle the carpentry. I expect better from Marriott. They also have a bottle in the room for you get get water from the sink.
