These Hotel Brands Started as Glamorous Housing for Flight Attendants

"Le Méridien in Paris was the first property of the chain operated by Air France. It had standalone crew check-in and dedicated areas for airline staff, providing both security and a sense of community for crew members during their layovers."

I stayed here as part of an Avalon river cruise - the pre and post nights. We paid to have our room available early as we landed at CDG at 6am. It was nice to be able to go directly to our room to relax a bit after an overnight flight. Our room was on the 2nd floor and faced the interior courtyard, so it was quiet. The room is small, but typical for European standards. The beds were comfortable, the A/C worked well, & the bathroom was a nice size. ||We had breakfast included and I thought the options were sufficient. There were a lot of people at breakfast but it was not crowded. Food was replenished frequently and the staff were constantly clearing tables. ||The location of the hotel was great. It was a short walk to the Port Malliot subway station, which was very convenient for exploring Paris. There were quite a few restaurants / bistros within walking distance. There is also shopping across the street in the Palais de Congres.

Excellent location 3 mins walk from Line 1 metro which connects to everywhere around Paris easily. We were on 9th floor - rooms were quiet and beds comfortable. Excellent breakfast - huge choice. Friendly staff. Only downside is that there is no longer an executive lounge so if you booked the hotel for that reason you will be disappointed! As a platinum member you do get the choice of 1000 points or breakfast. It's a no brainer - go for the breakfast every time!

For the price. This hotel was just OK. It’s located in a great location. Near the metro and within walking distance of plenty of shops and restaurants. For any American traveling and staying there, the AC in the rooms is not incredibly cold. The rooms are also small, but that is expected of any room in Europe. They do provide reusable, water bottles, which I thought was pretty cool. There is a restaurant on the property. The customer service here was just OK. For three nights, we spent $1700 in our room had twin beds.

My husband and I spent 10 nights here. Our room was clean and comfortable and serviced regularly. All of the staff we encountered—concierge, reception, breakfast, casual interaction—were great. Professional and helpful. Breakfast was great—tasty with many choices. Location is about a half mile from the Arc, but the immediate area was quieter while still having lots of restaurants.

Google
Great location, attentive and helpful team at the reception; however, the hotel shows its age (and does not really match its declared stars). You have cracks here and there, aged infrastructure, not operating sockets. I think room cleaning integrity could be improved (please remember to replace used stuff…). The repair works are also not helping. However, these would matter if you spend a lot of time in. Less critical if you are out on business the whole day and use it as your sleeping pad.

I came to Paris for the European Hernia Society Congress. The hotel is in a very good location—right next to the congress venue. It's also within walking distance of Paris's main attractions. The rooms are nice, and the beds are comfortable. However, the room service is very poor, and that's why I'm giving it only two stars. The room service hadn't cleaned my room. The next morning, I saw the staff in the hallway and reminded them. When I came back late at night, my room still hadn't been cleaned. Aside from that, the breakfast is barely average—it needs more variety. Still, if I come to Paris again, I won’t stay here.

Google
The location is great. Lots of issues. The room required a lot of maintenance and they are NOT up to the Marriott standard. Most power outlets in our room did not work. Toilet seat and lid would not open, had to be pulled apart to open. Beds were very uncomfortable No seating in the room unless at the desk and with 2 people in the room that wasn’t great. Just not right for a “luxury brand” Front desk cleark was very rude when we arrived.

Google
Rooms are small but comfortable. The location is perfect- a minute to the subway, and a 5 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe. But that’s where the positives end. There was construction on the 6th floor, we were on the 5th, which started early- waking up to drilling and hammering early in the AM was very unpleasant. But what was worse is how rude the staff is- from housekeeping to-registration to even after we left. As an example- we had two rooms with one adult and one child in each room- for the duration of our 4 day stay, we were only given one towel!!! I had to call EVERY day to request a second towel. But much worse-The price on my reservation is half of what I was actually charged. Having checked out very early in the AM by simply calling the front desk I didn’t double check the bill- which I only saw once I was back in the U.S. Not checking before I left is on me, but doubling the rate of what is written very clearly on my Bonvoy app, and currently giving me a hard time about crediting back about $1400 is completely on the hotel. They are not honoring the rate with which the room was booked- so my advice book elsewhere. And if you do happen to stay here, expect to be swindled.

Yelp
Reception area was great We came in a large group so it 5ook a moment doenus to get registered and to our rooms. Was not impressed with the hallway, and exteriornof the room. The corridor smelled like a gym locker with day old Jerseys still hanging. The interior of the room was ok. The bathroom and shower were two separate rooms with the bathroom the size of a closet. 6he tub and shower area was adequate Our stay is.planned for three days...anymore than that I would have requested a suite.i did like the fact that I could share devices with the TV which afforded me the opportunity to view additional material via the TV connected to my IPAD.

Yelp
Great Hotel. Modern spacious rooms. Love the modern designs. Clean minimalist lines. Clean. Friendly professional staff, all first rate run hotel. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Very pleasant stay. Near conference Palais Congress. Near metro & RER lines. View of Eiffel Tower.

Yelp
We stayed here for three nights. First the coffee maker did not work. TV did not work. I called the front desk in the morning to inform them about issues. When I came back that evening still the issues was not corrected. The next morning 5:30 am the electric for my room went out. They did come in a reasonable time to fix the problem. If you think you will get a nice shower here in Pais you won't . There is very little water pressure in there hotels. I take a shower every in US . Get ready for a culture change

Yelp
When we checked-in, it was all good until we turned on the air-conditioner and it didn't work! Called front desk many times and their response was "hotel is allowed to set the temperature as 24c
google avatar

Ally W.

Yelp
I came in very early and the hotel was able to accommodate me with an early check-in. The room had two twin-sized beds while I requested a queen-sized bed, but I was so jet-lagged that I just wanted to lay down as soon as possible. I still liked my room very much: clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel is rather large, so there is a good chance that there will be a room available. The location is very convenient. It is a 3 minute walk to the nearest metro or RER station, and a 10-15 minute walk to Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées. Currently, there is construction around Le Palais de Congrès, but it didn't bother me, as the construction was not loud. As long as I am able to sleep soundly in the room, I am quite happy with the hotel.

Yelp
Nice hotel! I liked that they had a bathtub in the room. The room itself was nice. It was annoying that you had to keep your key in the door or the lights didn't turn on. Front desk seemed kind of stuck up. Housekeeping was amazing though, they even organized all our junk on the bathroom counter! Amazing :)
google avatar

Peter Q.

Yelp
It's ok. Do not like the tub to take a shower. It's dangerous. AC could work better. Limited English language TV channels. Old looking outside and inside common areas Room itself is fine. Good bed name bedding. Hot water. Quiet. Near Metro. About 1 mile from Trocadero. Uber picks up. Restaurants around. Small fitness center. Limited club lounge.

Yelp
We came to this Paris location from a stay at the Le Méridien in Nice. The two stays differed greatly in experience. The Paris Le Méridien seemed extremely understaffed during peak times around check in at reception and also at the lounge. There were other subtle but significant differences; for example, all their hotels have an awful key system that deactivates all keys if one needs to be reset. The Nice staff made me aware of this when I needed a new key and activated another set for my husband on the spot. The Paris staff made no mention of this and created more work for themselves and for one of us to replace another key when we would eventually learn it didn't work. This would be an endless cycle had I not known their key system from the Nice employee. My hypothesis, however, would be the root of the problem other than mismanagement, is housekeeping. Our group had three rooms that weren't ready at check in and I assume everyone else crowding around the restaurant and lounge was waiting for their rooms as well. Vishal the server at the restaurant saved our afternoon. He was clearly overloaded with tables but his positive energy and eagerness to serve us made up for the long wait times for our rooms. Any employer would be lucky to have him on their team. Unfortunately, housekeeping struck again and often during our stay. They completely forgot to replace our towels after removing the ones that were hung up to reuse. Dirty coffee cups and glasses were never picked up. The shower walls needed grime removed. Light bulbs were out. Walls in the water closet dirty. Staff would come to clean the room later in the day after it was already cleaned. They're a hot mess. The hotel is beautiful and has so much potential, so I hope they get their act together.

Yelp
A typical Meridien property. Need to use your welcome gift for free breakfast. Breakfast was amazing so I couldn't care less about the points. Concierge was very helpful and refused a mule fee. I am a lifetime platinum at Marriott and approve.

Yelp
I would stay here again. Clean. Good service. And good lounge area. The breakfast was kinda crazy... and just avoid when most of the tourists come through, and it's a much better experience... otherwise, pretty good

Yelp
Nice western style hotel and conference center. Rooms on the smallish side but very well kept. Had no issues the cleanliness at all. Beds are comfy, but slightly worn. Common area such, are clean and quiet. The lobby is very busy and loud. Breakfast is a loud chaotic experience. Food is good not great. Not worth the 30€ charge.

Yelp
We stay at this hotel on my most recent visit to Paris the place is nice and clean, we had breakfast there every single day since they have buffet with variety of yummy stuff to eat including big selection of coffees (this was my favorite part) they also have about 3 robots assisting the waiters and waitresses with the dishes that was pretty cute, the sport center is one of the most equipped that I have seen in a hotel and they also have fruits, waters and clean towels. The personal is very attentive and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.(did I mention that this hotel is closed to everything?)

Yelp
This hotel is 100% recommended! We stayed here for 7 days and we really loved this hotel. Customer service is absolutely amazing. Ralph and Batiste were very helpful actually all the staff were all amazings. The room we stayed in at were so clean and beautiful. We have a nice view of Eiffel Tower. Their breakfast was really eally good. Overall Le Meridien rate is 10 very impressive!!! We love Le Meridien Etoile!!

Yelp
Ok location but some areas are very worn and the major construction all around makes it about double the time to get to sites. I get it - it's hard when you have so much traffic but the chairs on our floor...well I actually wouldn't sit in them. The rooms are small (expected in large city) but NO USB ports, only European plugs so bring adapters which is really unusual! Plugs by beds limited to one side. I think my room had been give a face lift with new carpet and paint. My parents room was depressing - end of bed fabric was ripped all the way off, toilette was in what appeared to be a closet?! Breakfast, included for us, was ok but for &30? Hard pass. If you do it I suggest going after 830. Seem to have a lot of conference goers here so there is a rush from 630-830 and a lot of the options are emptied quickly. Best part is bread selection Overall for the price and name I just expected more

Yelp
Nice shampoo. Pretty decor. Could hear loud banquet outside my window every night past 11pm.

Yelp
This is a hotel with horrible customer service. I fell down getting out of the shower because the edge was so very high and the floor slippery and the front desk wanted to charge me extra for a different room. Btw- I broke 4 ribs.

Yelp
Needs update, cleaning and better customer service. Everything feels self serve for a hotel that is high end and should have more contact with customers. Bathrooms could use an update. The bathtub / showers are hard to get into (very high for standard size people, I felt like I was climbing and could lose my balance). We had requested a third bed prior to visit, my husband has Marriott rewards and bed wasn't ready but we notified them immediately and it took them a whole day to set it up. We had to call front desk various times. Feels like a disconnect between concierge and staff. We were frustrated by end of our visit.

Keri S.

Yelp
The lobby of hotel is nice. Once you get to the room, it is very run down and desperately needs updating. I would not choose to stay here again. We are loyal Marriott rewards members and were very disappointed. Certainly not up to the Marriott standards we are accustomed to.

i will very very satisfied on our staycation in this hotel. all the staff is very happy , smile and always helpful. Specially to Mr. Ralph and Batiste. in the Front desk. This employee is Very good on how to handle the Guest.

Yelp
I would not recommend this hotel. While it was convenient and generally clean, the room was in disrepair. The furniture torn up (desk, chair and bed all had major chips and tears), phone didn't work at all, tv was spotty, almost half the elevators were not working. We requested another room and options were worse than ours. The manager said he would get back to us but never did. Disappointing, but still enjoyed our stop in Paris!

Travelgenieken S.

Yelp
The concierge and the hotel manager are in desperate need of customer service training. I asked for a vegan restaurant in walking distance to the hotel and the concierge wrote down the name of the restaurant and told me to make a right and another right at the end of the street and that the restaurant was a ten minute walk. Those directions were severely lacking and finally after asking two additional people I found my way to the restaurant however it was not open yet. I walked back to the hotel and told the concierge about the horrible directions and he laughed and said it is more complicated. I reported the incident to the hotel manager and respectfully asked for taxi fare back to the restaurant and she refused. The total cost of that taxi ride was 12 euro by the way. I will write to Marriott corporate office as well as Amawaterways who selected this hotel for the Paris extension. What hurts the most is that we just learned about Josephine Baker and all her accomplishments despite the racist treatment she experienced. Only to experience it myself in less than two hours from returning from the tour.

Chrissy J.

Yelp
I am VERY disappointed. I hope somehow the CEO or anyone with some authority on the Marriott side of the business sees this. Because this collaboration with the Meridien is an UGLY STAIN on the quality reputation the Marriott hotels uphold. During my stay of 5 nights not only was the initial service to our room disappointing (requesting a cot multiple times after arrival from our flight and still having to wait hours later), but it gets so much worse, its soooo obvious they're filling their soaps with water, the body wash was practically soapy water, the conditioner with the consistency of oil, and 2 towels in the room for 3 people. Also turns out you have to specifically ask for your room to be serviced!!! They say that they are "eco friendly and sustainable" but they don't run on sustainable energy, they don't have any means of reducing their carbon footprint, except for being lazy. When we asked why our room hadn't been cleaned since we had arrived (three days) and they told us that because they're eco friendly we have to request our room to be cleaned, yet there was no sign of this anywhere, even on the app where you can request service for the room, its listed as "extra cleaning" I am genuinely astonished to find Marriott agreeing to partnering with such an establishment as this. There are signes in the bathroom that tell you if you want new towels, to leave the dirty ones on the floor, yet no sign to say that in order for anyone to even see this to service the bathroom, we have to request "extra cleaning". I could still go on about how this hotel disappointed me, the bathtub is a foot off the ground and just how bad the mattress was for my mother's back. The coffee and tea bar, DUSTY ASL, mildew in the shower, and they don't empty the damn trash. Please, please, please, Marriott- I have stayed at multiple of your establishments and loved my stay, but my stay at the Meridian was so bad I had to write my very first review ever, in hopes to catch the attention of someone in charge so that they can make some serious changes with this location. .

Yelp
I love this hotel even though I think Paris is overrated. This hotel is in a great location within walking distance to Arc de Triomphe, shopping mall and many fabulous restaurants. There's no coffee maker in the room, but they give you two complimentary coffee vouchers that can be redeemed at the cafe in the lobby. They also give you a free museum pass to the Picasso museum. Be sure to look inside the folder in your room! Rooms are big, the beds are comfy, and there's a robe and slippers in the bathroom which is nice. But beware of the vending machine on the 5th floor! The machine will just take your money!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
What a nice hotel, the lobby, the staff, the room, all top notch. We were early upon checkin and they called us when the room was clean, around 1:00pm. Beds are a little lumpy and they don't give you enough bath towels or bars of soap, but most everything is new and modern. Breakfast buffet is 29€ which seems a bit steep. The neighborhood is really nice with lots of shops, cafes, train stations, and amazing restaurants--even a McD's as well!

Andy F.

Yelp
Terrible service and the hotel just seems to get worse and worse. Especially the case for elite travelers. Lounge has gone downhill. Breakfast is awful now and a line. Dishes dirty, etc And they started out with bottled water in rooms then moved to cans which was Ok. Not they give you an empty bottle with a sign to fill it up in the sink as the water is drinkable.
google avatar

Cydney M.

Yelp
LE MERIDIEN ETOILE IS AN OLDER HOTEL, BUT THE ROOMS ARE COMFORTABLE =================================================================== If you are a Starwood member you can take advantage of the nice Club Lounge on the Eighth Floor for breakfast, snacks and wine and appetizers in the evening. An added bonus is that there is a great view of the Eiffel Tower. I would just recommend that they do something with all the leafy plants that block the view. The beds were very comfortable, the room was quiet and it was always clean. I'd stay there again.

Meri N.

Yelp
Awful experience. Went to take a shower in their "European Bathtub" and was unable to climb out. Ended up falling out as there was nowhere to hold onto. Broke 3 ribs, fractured my wrist and was severely bruised. Floor is very slippery. The front desk advises you need to "ask" for a mat! When I told them of my injuries and requested a different room with a shower, I was told I would need to pay the extra fee. A gentleman (?) entered my room and advised me that "I would be able to go to the American Hospital" but refused to offer me transportation or cover the fee of the hospital. In other words, they refused to do anything for me that would require them to assist me. Nasty front desk and completely not helpful. I would never, ever stay here. So uncooperative and refused to offer any assistance at all.

Yelp
I will not stay here again. I came here for my honeymoon and got treated like nobody. I was not looking for any special treatment just the bare minimum of what a hotel that claims to have the standards they do. Check in........ is at 3pm. They made my wife and I wait till 4. After a 16 hour travel time. Room was not that clean. Kinda dusty. But I let that go... Day 3 They skipped my room 2 time housekeeping. After I even requested it to be clean when I came back 2pm. Now I'm here in the lobby writing this waiting for my room to be cleaned and it's 5:28pm and counting...... not what I want to do after trying to take a nap since 2pm. I think there are a lot of other better places to stay than here. I mean they put me on the 2nd floor with all the flight attendants. Funny how they check in way before 12pm but they make me wait till 4pm. Now it's 5:30 and I'm gonna take a nap on the couch in the lobby. Have a great stay in Paris if you decide to stay and be disappointed.

Yelp
Its a Meridien, and this is a good one. There was a lot of construction going on and it was very busy, but the rooms was cozy and large enough for a desk. Location is great for the Palias, and very accessible for the subways. Good food and bakeries in the area and you can walk to the tower in about 45 minutes.

Yelp
Staying here for a few days and I'm not impressed. To start with, they lose points for lack of simple easy things like any water or snacks, free or not, in the room, and an ATM in the lobby. There are a lot of foreign travelers coming here, and having an ATM would be an obvious thing to have. Also, they're like most Israeli hotels, in that the lobby is huge and beautiful, but when you get to the rooms, they're small and unimpressive. The conference in at gave a number of options for hotels; in speaking with my colleagues, the other ones were cheaper but had great rooms, despite not having a beautiful lobby. I don't plan on sleeping or working in the lobby, so it doesn't do me much good. It's ok. But far from special. Ok I changed my mind. After another day here, I'm even less impressed. Again more simple things like there's no soap tray in the shower and no one cleaned my room even though I admittedly left it later. Also they don't give you many towels. Also, my bed is really two twins pushed together. Ultimately, a three is for those that meet expectation. This hotel has not met my expectations. It's pretty disappointing.

Yelp
I came here expecting nothing but the best. Afterall, it's a Le Meridien. I wasn't blown away to be honest, and the location of the hotel is not the best in the city. It's far from most of the attractions in Paris. A few plus points staying here include: i. airport bus transfer stops right in front of the hotel at Port Maillot so you don't have to walk too far with your luggage(s). ii. a nice shopping mall (Les Boutiques du Palais) just across the hotel with amazing boutiques, a cinema, cafes (Angelina), and 2 grocery stores - Marks & Spencer foodhall and Galeries Gourmandes, with the best selection of anything you need. iii. some small and quaint restaurants - Léon de Bruxelles, Dessirier and many more iv. Porte Maillot metro station just a few mins walk from hotel v. Arc de Triomphe and Champ Elysses within walking distance Stay here if you really need to, otherwise, i would recommend staying closer to where all the happenings are.

Yelp
This hotel is big and ice enough. But, why are the walls in the rooms so thin?! I can, particularly, hear people word-for-word when they are talking!!!

Yelp
Super expensive hotel for not so nice accommodations. I recently spent two nights at the Le Meridian Hotel in Paris. One thing I will say. The view of the Eiffel Tower from my room at night was well worth the amount of money spent. But overall the hotel was just meh! When I arrived at the hotel they said they were going to upgrade my reservation and put me on the executive floor because they rooms are bigger. I thought this was nice. When I went in the room and looked at my friends room who was not on the executive floor I did not see much a difference in size. I was super excited to be on the executive floor. I do not have status with Marriott, so to be on this floor and get access to the executive lounge was going to be amazing. Well, unfortunately I did not get access to the lounge. Thankfully though I had enough colleagues who did have access to the lounge that I was able to use there keys to get me in. The executive lounge was very nice. One thing that I thought was pretty strange is that we did not have a coffee maker in the room. I like to have my morning coffee. When I went downstairs and asked about it, they told me that not everyone get this and I could pay an extra 50 Euros a night to get a coffee machine put in. 50 Euros for crappy coffee. No way! The people downstairs in guest relations were not very nice. The bed really was not very comfortable in this hotel. Overall a solid 3 star hotel out of 5, but next year when I am in Paris ill be staying somewhere else.

Yelp
With 1,025 guest rooms, Le Meridien Etoile is one one the largest hotels in Paris. Despite its size there are a lot of features that recommend it. I was there as part of a Viking Cruise for 3 days and 2 nights. The location puts you steps away from the Champs Elysees. Across the street is the Palais des Congress which has a metro station, Porte Maillet, which will take you to the heart of the city. Stops on the Metro take you to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, etc..You can walk to the Arc de Triomphe. although it is a long walk. Other features which make this hotel attractive include:the extensive breakfast buffet which for me was included in by cruise package, the breakfast seating area was huge with an other option in the center court, the large beautiful lobby, the contemporary lounge and bar, the King size comfortable bed and large room. flat screen TV with good reception and numerous channels and the housekeeping was prompt and through. There was no hint of smoking in my non-smoking room. I found a number of great meals at a reasonable price within 300 feet of the hotel. The hotel issued key card worked really well as did the internet service on the 3rd floor that I used to check my flight. The toilet was in a separate room from the wash sink and shower. The toilet room was small and basic. there was no coffee machine in the room but the hotel offered 2 complimentary coffee vouchers for the lobby coffee bar. The lobby could of had an ATM for currency exchange. If I was not part of the Viking cruise the breakfast buffet would have cost me $28. some areas looked a bit dated but all areas were clean.

Yelp
If I could rate this hotel -10000000 I would. I travel often, all over the world, and this has literally been the worst experience of my life. My husband and I came to Paris for our honeymoon and during this time we have had terrible service, snubbed by staff, and treated poorly. We had to wait 1hour after check in to get our room it wasn't until my husband and I said something that the staff said "oh your room is ready" well, was anyone going to tell us or were we going to become permanent fixtures in the lobby? Today, Ive been waiting literally all day for my room to be cleaned. I've called about it twice, left the hotel for hours, and yet here I am sitting in the lobby waiting for my room to be ready. I have family staying in the same hotel and they're experience isn't much better. From poor service to broken air conditioners. You couldn't pay me enough to stay here again.

Yelp
I have stayed here multiple times for work and am never impressed. It is one of the worst Le Meridiens I have stayed at (and I have stayed at a lot because I travel a lot for work and am a complete Starwood slut). I only stay here because it is cheapest Starwood in town (though I understand why) and it is convenient for meetings and metro access. Most of the rooms are old and dingy. I have posted pics of paint literally pealing off the ceiling of the bathroom. UGH! And the remodeled rooms look like they are trying too hard to be a W. Same thing goes for the lobby...it is just so gaudy..and not in a good way. If you have to stay here though, make sure to demand a renovated room...I'll take gaudy over disgusting any day. And the staff is just so damn aloof. Everyone from the concierge to the front desk are just a complete waste of time (though at least everyone speaks English). And they offer virtually no special treatment for Starwood Platinum members. No concierge lounge. No free WiFi outside of the room. The check-in line for members is often longer than for non-members. Maid service only gives you free water about half the time. I hate to think how non-status members are treated. Avoid.

Yelp
Bell boys asked for tipping and room is tiny. They did not clean my room on the first day of stay.

Yelp
This is a major disappointment for us on our European trip. We stayed here 10 years ago and it was wonderful. Is, it has become a major disappointment. In fact, they should be embarrassed. We got an "upgrade" when we arrived. Mind you we have been elite with the Sheraton (now Marriott Bonvoy) for over 15 years. The upgrade was a smaller room than we had 10 years ago that looks kind of beat up. The upgrade only offers you the "executive" floor, which for us was the 7th floor. We got rewarded with the view of a basketball court/soccer court. Mini bar is not stocked at all. We have to get our own stuff now for the mini fridge. When we stayed at the Conrad in London, they had several different types of power plugs (US, UK, etc). Only the one for France was available here. We rented a power supply for 10 euros (refundable) The bed feels older and not so comfortable. Then, my wife tried to dry her hair and the supplied hair dryer died on her. When she called down to ask for a new one, they tried to make her feel stupid by blaming her for. It plugging it in correctly. They took at least a half hour to replace it. It is a dumpster fire here. It's too bad. We loved this place. Now, we loathe it. And one more thing, the coffee maker now uses a Sanka like instant coffee. *** update *** We got back to our room the night before checking out and discovered our key was taken from the light control and the items we used in the shower (our own supplies) were gone. A security breach that was not very comforting. We had to contact the on duty manager and have him brings us a new set of keys at 10pm. Not what we want to deal with after a long Paris day. Very sad what had happened to this location. We got comped breakfast (€36 each) and 10.000 points. It's hardly comforting I just want to be able to relax on vacation. This was far from relaxing.

Yelp
Beautiful! Excellent service. Located around many excellent shops. Close to the Louvre and Moulin Rouge.

Yelp
Quite honestly this is a pretty fancy 4 star hotel in Europe. The lobby is HUGE if you want to socialize in the hotel lobby and if you splurge on the full breakfast (my conference hotel reservation included it, and it was wonderful) it is fantastic. I ate so much delicious food in the mornings (omelets, yogurt, bacon, eggs, soup, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juices, water, fish, etc.). My stay included Free Wifi as part of our conference package but I understand that that may not be standard? The room was well-maintained. The bed was super comfortable. And there were enough charging outlets for all of my devices (yes I had adapters for some of them and they even had some USB outlets as well). This is a HUGE hotel. If you want a particular room PLEASE REQUEST IT. We were far from the elevator but this was fine by me. My room didn't have a special view or anything but that was also fine. The shower was excellent. And the other hotel amenities we partook in were great too. On a whole a fancier hotel than I needed, but perfect for the convention goer, and as the Hyatt is undergoing renovations it was great that our hotel wasn't. Additionally it is a SPG property so I got to take advantage of that aspect as a program participant. I really liked how there were free computers for printing on our floor which was extra helpful when we bought tickets to things as tourists.

Yelp
Le Meridien Etoile is an OK hotel. It's fine if you want to stay there for a few days, but more than that and it will drive you crazy! It's not the most convenient, as it is on the edge of Paris, but it is pretty convenient if you are shooting fashion weeks or are at a conference because it is close to those locations usually. Lobby is pretty modern and neat, and the downstairs of the hotel is very cool and big looking. Restaurant attached to hotel is overpriced and snooty and doesn't even taste good. Fitness center is okay, but they don't have conversion from KM to MI on treadmills even though they have many American guests. The room service is very slow and the waitstaff are genuinely indifferent to your situation. There are several significant downsides to this hotel. First, the price. 400€ per night for a closet-sized room far from main part of Paris when there's plenty of space for a larger room to be? Ridiculous. I stayed for 8 nights and regret having spent my money here. Next, the curtains are SEE THROUGH so you can't get your beauty sleep- crazy! I called the reception to ask them to fix it but they didn't care. They will not fix it. Also, the shower has NO door! What's up with that?! Odd and cold when you're in the shower... The bottled water always tastes weird, too. And the buffet for breakfast in the morning is 30€- a price that surely cannot be acceptable to anyone who respects themself! No pool either. Again, I booked this room last minute to shoot Fashion Week. So I'm grateful to just have a place to stay. But seriously- they could make this place a LOT better. Three stars because this place is seriously lacking. I'd expect more of a Le Meridien, as I've stayed in wonderful ones in Barcelona, Cancun, and more.

Yelp
It's a 4 star hotel just in front of a shopping mall. lots of local restaurant on the corner and McDonald's across the street and a grocery store at the back pf the hotel. 15 mins walk to the arc the triumph plus another 30-40mins walk to the louvre and you will hit champs elysées along the way.

Yelp
Location is not the best but it is super close to the Metro and a short walk to the Champs Elysee. Compare to some of the other rates we checked out that weekend, the Le Meridien was very reasonably priced for the value. We were in an executive room that was very modern and received good service. Rooms are tiny but we did not expect a large room.

Yelp
It's right across the street from the Palais des Congres, which is really the best thing about this place. There is a jazz club downstairs that does bring in some pretty fun acts on weekends and the breakfast is a pretty good deal. So, it's fine, but for the price it's really pretty terrible. Wi-fi in the rooms runs at an absolutely glacial pace. There is a wired connection at the desks which helps, but forget about it if you want to get any work done over the wireless. My mattress was sagging and I found a silverfish in my shower. Nothing all that tragic, honestly, but not what you should get out of a hotel this expensive. I'd go somewhere else.

Yelp
I came here with my wife for a 4 day/night stay as I had to work at the Palais des Congres across the street, so I thought it would a be a convenient location. Right at checking I got the feeling that no one cared. They had 7 people behind the front desk of which only one was helping a guest. Waited 20 minutes. Then they were adamant about charging the whole 4 night stay to my credit card upfront. What Marriott Hotel does that ? They make you feel that you are some cheap Airport Motel. It went downhill from there. The decor is outdated and the ambiance is terrible. The carpet in our room on the 7th floor was worn out, as were the curtains and the desk chair. What a dump. I told the front desk I would only stay one night. They said a refund would take 2 weeks. I have yet even to receive an itemized bill. Worst Marriott Experience ever.

Yelp
We stayed here recently to celebrate New Years and my birthday in Paris. The hotel is part of the SPG collection like the Westin and was very nice and has a spacious lobby and dining area. They feature a jazz club built in to the lobby with live jazz. The staff are all very welcoming and hospitable in a truly genuine fashion. We were checked in early at 9AM at no cost upon arriving and check out was painless when leaving. Their breakfast is a buffet style traditional breakfast with a plentiful selection of pastries, meats, eggs, fruits and drinks. It is priced at €29 per person, they also have a 24 hour in room service with various options as well. We also tried the jazz bar one night and really enjoyed the drinks and service by the bartender. Unfortunately I cannot recall his name but he was very cordial and made excellent drinks. Right across the street from this hotel is Palais des Congres which has a metro station stop named Porte Maillot connected underground which has the yellow 1 line to take you to Champs Élysée for connection to other monuments and all the way to Châtelet nearby Notre Dame and the Louvre.

Yelp
Clean, modern, a shopping mall was right across the street, close to the Metro and we were walking distance to the Eiffel tower and lots of cafes/restaurants. The check in staff were friendly, spoke fluent English no issues there and they greet rewards members. The rooms were great but very small but that is nothing new in Europe but we had views of the Eiffel tower (and at night its pretty darn nice to have that view). We are a family of 4 so we had to get two rooms and unfortunately, they did not offer rooms with connecting doors (at least no one offered it to us knowing we had the kids) so the hubby and I had to split up with one child each at night. They have restaurants attached, a large restaurant inside the hotel past the lobby area and a large bar. The hotel was very lively and safe. Great stay for our firs time in Paris.

Yelp
Considering this is a Meridien, I guess I expected more from here. The lady at the front desk when I checked in seemed miserable and when I asked a question, seemed very burdened to answer it. For the price you'd pay, and for the "name" on the hotel... I expect more. The room was small, and the toilet seemed like an...afterthought? Like they made the bathroom and remembered that oh, there should be a toilet! So they stuck it in a separate room. This might seem great if you have two or more in the room, and one wants to shower while someone else wants to use the toilet... but when you're on your own? It's a toilet in a closet. The breakfast buffet was mediocre, and certainly not worth 30 euros. The hotel itself is across from a mall, and walking distance from l'Arc de Triomphe, surrounded by many cafes, restaurants and pharmacies.

Yelp
Small room in comparison to rooms in the USA. Came to this hotel purely on a package that was part of my travel arrangements. Room lacked some cleanliness as we noticed there were some issues with general cleaning (dusting and vacuum) air condition vents in our room 5050 need dire cleaning. Bathroom has designer sink and toilet but lacks design. Toilet bowl is positioned awkward for an adult taller than 5ft 7inches, when you sit on toilet the left side has the placement of the toilet paper right next to my knee. Had to wonder why such poor design when hotel spent money in designer sink and toilet. I was forced to sit sideways, shame on the management for not taking the time to design a smart use of space. Toilet wasted a lot of water to flush, why no efficiency? The tub did not have a door, instead it had a half glass fixture, which was useless. Floor got wet everytime we showered. Getting in or out of the tub was a hassle as you have to climb into the tub and you have to sort of dismount yourself out if the tub by means of holding on to towel bar and sink. It becomes an acrobatic act to not slip or fall when coming out of the tub. Word of caution to anyone with a knee or hip problem. Telephone operators and front desk are not fluent in English. On Jul 17, sometime about 4pm. I made a call downstairs. I thought i was speaking with front desk, i asked if 800 toll free phone calls were free of charge. Their response; yes no charge. Great, i made a call to an 800 phone number to verify my transfer to the Airport and it took less than 1 minute. Cost of that 1 phone call upon checking out about 4 euro; insane and ridiculously priced. So i end up paying for a phone call because someone at the front desk was not able to communicate with me. The breakfast package included with my stay was a good option. Out of 4 days, we used it 3x. Plenty of options hot breakfast, cold cuta and cheese station. No pancakes or waffles and oddly they had a asian station with congee. Staff was attentive and nice.
