Le Méridien Hamburg (Hamburg, Germany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This modern hotel has an attractive, clear style extending from the brightly furnished rooms (with specially designed therapeutic beds) to the wellness area. The restaurant on the ninth floor offers a fantastic view over the Außenalster lake." - Tablet Hotels

We would like to thank the whole team for this wonderful stay.|A hotel can have many stars for luxury - but for us, hospitality is the most important thing! The upgrade worked so perfectly and the room overlooking the Alster was stunning. Lovingly furnished. Bathtub and shower - a dream. Plenty of storage space. And a wonderful quality of sleep! Thanks to the team behind the scenes for giving us this! The room service: The best! An extra table brought and warmly served - delicious food. Breakfast on the 9th floor - what a warm welcome:|We got a very quiet table overlooking the Alster! The buffet - top! Plus a waitress who brought us the extras! |It was our first stay at your hotel. We look forward to seeing you again!

We love this hotel! We stayed here a couple of times, sometimes for business, sometimes for a couple days off, this time with family. The staff is always great and friendly, oftentimes you get a rougher service when you arrive with the family…not here! The staff was incredibly friendly, brought up some candy for the kids while asking if it’s ok before. The rooms are still nice although some could probably have a little makeover here and there, bit overall still good. We had some „issues“ and the management was very happy to help and honestly thankful for constructive feedback. Our highlight is always the breakfast with the amazing view and a great choice of high quality fresh food, the staff up there is even more amazing then the hotel staff. Also the heritage bar is great for ending the day, staff here is quite knowledgeable about the cocktails, some room for improvement on the wine site. We will always come back while visiting Hamburg!

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is a definite plus right on the lake and about a 10-minute walk from the train station. The building itself looks modern from the outside with its gray and green floors, which gives a fresh first impression. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, though it did feel a bit dated. Bed wasn’t that great, The air conditioning wasn’t very effective, but the soundproof windows were a welcome feature, especially given the traffic noise from the street out front. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. However, it’s worth noting that no assistance was offered with luggage, which might be a drawback for some travelers. Breakfast was decent with a fair selection, though there’s room for improvement and unfortunately, the coffee was quite disappointing. On the bright side, there are plenty of great cafes and restaurants just a 10-minute walk away, which helps make up for it. All in all, a good stay with some minor inconveniences. Would recommend for the location and value, but with a few expectations managed.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and were very pleased. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the service was very good. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and had all the desired amenities. Complimentary bottled water and mints were a nice touch. There’s a nice gym, spa, and indoor pool, as well as a cafe in the lobby. The hotel is located right on the lake and convenient to the city center. And the price was quite reasonable. I would definitely stay here again when I return to Hamburg.

Google
Le Méridien Hamburg exceeded our expectations with its unbeatable location right by the Alster Lake. The serene lakeside setting added a relaxing touch to our stay, with beautiful walking and biking paths just outside the door. The highlight, however, was the rooftop bar—an incredible spot to unwind with a drink while watching the sunset over the water. The views were absolutely stunning. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and stylish. We appreciated the comfortable rooms, attentive service, and easy access to both the city center and public transport. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, this hotel offers the best of Hamburg in one place.

Unable to have 2 rooms in the same floor. The only options was to have lower room quality for the same price as I booked with hotels.com.|Beds was correct, the showers were leaking everywhere, and there are not enough lights as the rooms was the rooms were almost dark at 7:00 p.m.|Nice breakfast with lot of choices even if the service was too long (30min) for the hot drinks.|We have called the room service for burgers with a cook level of very rare and we have 4 very well done chopped steaks....||For me the service and rooms is definitively not in the level of a 5 stars hotel.

Lovely hotel with fantastic view. We splashed out on a high floor lake view. Only here one night after disembarking a cruise at 7.00 am!|Arrived much too early but Jens kindly let us sit in the breakfast room and gave us coffee. Finally allowed into room at 2 pm. Very comfortable night, super bathroom with a big tub.|Excellent breakfast with ‘eggs in glass’ which we call poached but served in a jar. Massive assortment of bread, cereal and Bircher muesli and fruit. Bacon etc great coffee.|Thank you to Jens and Alex for kindness and friendliness.|Sadly leaving today for Berlin but enjoyed our stay

Stayed as a large family event in two rooms, total 3 adults and 3 kids and had a great stay. The hotel is in good location just next to Alster in downtown central Hamburg. You can easily walk to central station back and forth as well.||Hotel has good nice rooms. Clean and shick. bf very nice with lovely view. All very good, modern and with German effectiveness. For visits to central Hamburg good place to stay!

Yelp
Swanky hotel overlooking the lake. There are pricey rooms that face the lake, but unless you get one of the highest floors, your view will be obscured by the tall trees--the view from the restaurant at the top floor serving breakfast and dinner is your best bet for getting an amazing view without the hefty room charge. Breakfast includes self pour Prosecco, and a massive selection of smoked or cured fish! Just about every item was of superlative quality. The waitstaff is well trained and efficient with panache.

Yelp
Had a pleasant stay. Very, very, very, kind staff. Great snack selection. Awesome espresso maker. Very quiet room with pleasant music in the hallway. Loved the towel heater. The restaurant upstairs has a Michelin star and it was super delicious.

Yelp
Stayed here for a few nights earlier this year and was pleasantly surprised. Located near downtown right on the lake, it offers spectacular views as well as top notch German service. This is not the cheapest hotel in the area, but if you book most SPG hotels, expect to pay more than an average staybridge, embassy suite, motel 6, etc. As many mentioned there are a few downsides, one being indeed the smoking lounge downstairs, which honestly I didn't really pay attention to, but you can smell it time to time. Another is, there are really no restaurants within a comfortable walking distance, so I'd suggest asking for the front desk for a taxi and or hailing an uber. The positive outweigh the negatives though as with most SPG hotels, luxury is expected. Rooms and most of the interior aesthetics are splendid and very inviting. The room I had was very spacious and I was lucky enough to snag a window with a view of the lake, bad weather and all, it was still a beautiful view. Top floor boasts a great restaurant and bar, but not very euro friendly with its high prices, but the food and drinks are great! Review is coming for the bar/restaurant soon (4/5 easily). Would definitely consider staying here again if visiting the wonderful town and people of Hamburg.

Yelp
Lobby is good. Usually a quick check in for air crew. Never got an upgrade. Platinum for life doesn't get you breakfast. Gotta use your platinum check in award. Breakfast is good. I always have to call Marriott SPG after for my Go Green points. Overall I'm disappointed in Le Meriden brand; been to Stuttgart, Paris, Munich and Hamburg. It's a cheap version of the W.

Yelp
I've stayed here maybe three times on business and overall, I'm a fan. The Good: - Speedy service! I'll credit good old fashioned German efficiency for getting me from taxi, through check in, and into bed in under 60 seconds - Lovely lake views - Spacious SPG rooms, I particularly enjoyed my walk-through closet The Bad: - The smoking lounge downstairs was kind of a shock to my system. Seems like such an anachronism and definitely not where I want to hang out and relax The Meh: - The neighborhood doesn't have a ton going on. It feels a bit residential and quiet but downtown is a short Uber or bus ride away - It's the only SPG property in town, but apparently there's a Westin opening next year. Fingers crossed for some healthy competition soon.

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights just after christmas for a short Hamburg getaway and was very pleased with most things. Location is good just about a 5 min walk from the big railwaystation and 10-15 min walk (or a short cab ride) from the shopping area. There is plenty of restaurants and bars surrounding the railwaystation but for a more partyhappy crowd i would suggest the shimmering lights down at the Reeperbahn where there are tons of bars and nightclubs all night long. Rooms at this Le Meridien where bright and large (for european standards) and had good closet space and a sleek bathroom with a large tub and massage shower. Nice soft bathrobes to wear when going down to the pool/spa area is always pleasent. Pool area was crowded with familys with small children wich i guess can be expected around holiday time. Service was nice and with a smile and at the rate i got at Hotels.com for roughly 300 € for 3 nights it was quite the bargain even though i had to pay a staggering 30 €/night for parking space. 1 star is deducted because of the lack of fri wi-fi. I certainly think that free wireless internet should be expected at a 5 star hotel like this even if i understand the urge to suck out some extra money for anything that could bring in some extra euros.

Yelp
Nice place to have a coffee or cocktail, from the restoran a beautiful view of the city!

Yelp
Hotel is beautifully located next to the Alster. Close to city center and central station in 10 min walking distance. Staff was very nice and breakfast very good and efficient .

Yelp
The view is incredible and the business lunch is a great deal! That being said, the last time I was there we had such an awful experience with the wait staff (and so did the rest of the restaurant). When clearing our plates, utensils were just flying left and right. Ok, blunders do happen. Let's let that one slide, but then she comes back to our table and gets a phone call on her cellphone?? Turn your personal cell on silent when you're at work... I felt like I was in the Twilight zone. Also watch out with outrageous prices on bottled water! Otherwise just sit back, relax and enjoy your meal.

Yelp
Outstanding 5 star service! Helpful and friendly staff! Everyone spoke English and was knowledgeable about the city. Great location in walking distance to shops, restaurants and Central train station. The view of the lake from the 9th floor makes both breakfast or cocktails relaxing. Breakfast is expensive 30 euros but there are plenty of bakeries and cafés in walking distance. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Rooms start at 169, and that is quite pricey to me. The rooms start with 38 square meters and that is quite large. The bath room is excellent and the bed is very comfortable. If I compare this to the Ibis Alster Hotel (sort of next door), then this hotel is a bargain!

Yelp
overall enjoyed this hotel as it is very clean, updated, and is in a nice location close to many shops and restaurants and easily accessible within a kilometer walk to other areas. the rooms also have an incredible view of the river and little balconies to step out on, which was a very lovely touch. i had a very difficult time controlling the temperature and humidity in the room, and found this more difficult as there was only a single comforter on the bed and not an option to use a bed sheet to better moderate, plus the thermostat did not seem to work so well. the breakfast buffet was nice, but the bar was very expensive and drinks were very small for the price. i did enjoy the desserts, especially a poached pear that surprised me with a blackberry in the center instead of a pit. the gym was very hot and crowded, i went in for about 10 minutes and then decided not to continue the workout.

Yelp
This is a great hotel. The room is decorated modernly in nice colours. The bed is also great and feels like it's brand new. The shower with massage options is spacious and powerful. The WiFi connection is unfortunately not very good and keeps disconnecting. I was here for business purposes so a WiFi code was included, but if you stay here for private purposes you'll have to pay for WiFi in your room which I think should be offered for free. The food (lunch and breakfast) was good and staff is friendly.

Yelp
For supposedly a five star resort, this place was miserable. They charge exorbitant prices for everything! The food service was marginal, some of the help was downright surly. Examples: First day top floor, breakfast for $45 and the eggs were runny and almost cold. Go to the concierge, ask a question about local activiities and get a "don't know" response without any attempt at "and I'll find out for you"! Everytime you park through the front car parking they charge, so if you get your car out in the morning and back in at night - hello 29 Euro each time! Internet in the room is a healthy 24 Euro a day each day regardless of stay time. This hotel is out to rip you off with marginal service, living off artwork someone else created. The hallway temperature seems to be set at a stifling 78 to 80 degrees - I suppose if you're 90 that would be nice, but for us average blokes, not. After seeing the bill and having stayed there over ten days (wanted to leave, but lots of capacity issues during this time) asked for a modification, and the staff was completely rude, inferring somehow that I had made a mistake by even asking.. Some of my business friends living in Hamburg take their friends there for Sunday lunches because of the view. They were quite excited for me when I told them the company had booked me there. Needless to say, that won't happen again. Marriott has a far better atmosphere - actually treating you like a customer, not some passerby that must have made a mistake by being in their hotel...
