Google
Le Méridien Nice offers one of the best locations in Nice, with breathtaking ocean views right from your room and an unforgettable breakfast buffet overlooking the Mediterranean. We stayed here for almost two weeks with our family and reserved three rooms, all of which had beautiful ocean views. Waking up to the sea every morning truly made our stay special. The service was excellent, and the staff were consistently attentive and accommodating to our requests. There was a noticeable odor near the elevators on the 9th floor, but the hotel addressed and repaired the issue promptly, which we appreciated. My husband is very particular about pillow and mattress selection, and the manager went out of their way to accommodate his preferences, demonstrating genuine care and professionalism. Overall, this was a very comfortable and memorable stay. We would absolutely return to Le Méridien Nice and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-located hotel with stunning views and thoughtful service.

Google
4 star is not enough, but 5 is too much. The hotel is definitely great deal for the price. My room was a bit noisy since was facing the inner patio with A/C machines. Sleep quality was great. Room a little empty but with everything needed. Breakfast is a strong point. Impressive view on the promenade and great variety of sweet and salty choices. Position is perfect to start a walking day in Nice.

Google
We stayed five nights at this lovely hotel, and the experience was wonderful. The location is perfect—just a short walk to Vieux Nice and the shopping areas, a quick drive to both the airport and the train station, and only 30 minutes to an hour from beautiful nearby destinations like Monaco and Èze. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with our room, and it was resolved immediately. Breakfast each morning was also a highlight. Our room featured an ocean view with a spectacular sunrise each day. We highly recommend this hotel!

Google
This is our second visit to Nice because we fell in love with the city and the people. We stayed at this hotel last time and all of the staff remembered us. The personalization made us feel so special!! On top of that they gave us the same room with the same wonderful view. This is one of my absolute favorite hotels. If you go to breakfast I recommend asking for Martini! She will take great care of you!

Google
Our stay at Le Méridien Nice was a memorable one. The location is unbeatable—right on the Promenade des Anglais with stunning views of the sea and just a short walk from the old town, shops, and restaurants. The rooftop terrace is a highlight, perfect for enjoying a drink while watching the sunset. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with a great bed and a spacious bathroom. We especially appreciated the balcony overlooking the Mediterranean—it made mornings and evenings feel extra special. Service was professional and courteous throughout. The front desk staff were helpful with restaurant recommendations and made check-in and check-out smooth. Housekeeping was consistent, though there’s always room for a bit more attention to detail. We’ve stayed in several hotels in Nice, and this one remains a favorite for its combination of location, comfort, and views. It’s not the cheapest option, but the experience and setting make it worth it. Looking forward to coming back.

Google
This is my absolute favorite hotel in Nice. We have been at the hotel several times, and always have an amazing time- it's like coming home! The doorman and staff remember you, rooms are amazing and location couldn't be better! Fantastic breakfast. Thank you to the amazing team at Le Méridien- we look forward to seeing you in 2026!

Google
Upon arrival the hotel is stunningly positioned welcoming its guests to something magical. Front Desk Agents were kind and knowledgable of all things Nice. Initially I booked a courtyard room. The room was not the best. The next day I booked another room with a sea view. This immediately changed my view of the room. The breathtaking corner unit gave me uninterrupted views of the promenade and the sea. Upon my second visit to the hotel, my favorite front desk agent Nicola, made sure I had the opportunity to experience an upgraded room with a balcony. There is no other place to stay while in Nice other than Le Meridien Nice!

Google
if you’re an american visiting please stay here. a lot of the other hotels are more european (toilets with no seats, very small, etc just not what you’re used to with american hotels. this hotel is exactly what you expect a regular american marriott to be so i definitely recommend. also right on the beach, near a ton of restaurants, great rooftop restaurant, easily the best area.

Yelp
We really enjoyed Le Meridien Hotel! Cannot beat the location, right across from the beach and next to the gardens and old town. Had breakfast included with our room and it was fabulous. Also, on the roof is the pool, rooftop bar and Eliao restaurant. Had zero complaints about the hotel and location. Highly recommend and was surprised by the Mediterranean view from our room!!

Yelp
Absolutely worst stay ever. Pool is not as advertised - desperately needs to be cleaned and painted and retiled. There is a McDonalds right below the hotel so you can smell the food in the hotel. The "courtyard" view is astroturf and trees and very unappealing. The front desk staff and manager are a disgrace to the Marriott brand name, they locked me out of my room and held me and my family hostage demanding a higher room price payment after they made a mistake the night before and charged us the wrong price. This hotel is massively overpriced and seriously outdated. Do not stay here! Even if you are a Bonvoy member - and I am a Titanium Elite member - you will regret your stay.

Yelp
Originally planned to visit Venice, but due to the over/anti tourism we decide to change our plans and visit Nice. Arrived earlier than check in time and Anna prioritized our room with housekeeping. Anna also provided complementary drinks at the bar while we waited and apologized for the inconvenience of us arriving earlier than check in time during peak season.. appreciate even accommodating the early check in very much. Unfortunately, being a Marriot Platinum Elite member, they could not provide a suite upgrade. We booked a a premium, high floor room in our reservation in case they could not accommodate the upgrade. Anna did provide us a great room. the stay was incredible to see how much has changed in the city and having Le Meridien as home base right on the promenade made it that much more special. I cant thank Anna at the front desk and Nilu in housekeeping for going "above an beyond" to make our stay that much more memorable.. its always nice to work with a hotel staff that ask's what do you need? and the response is "absolutely, we got this". Anna, we will be back! Merci Anthony W. Rm #932

Yelp
Would not stay here again. Extremely rude front desk staff and security staff. I was standing at the concierge desk, and dared to try to ask a member of the staff if they knew when the concierge was going to return and he shook his head, pointed to his name tag and kept walking. Front desk staff was equally unfriendly and condescending. Felt like they were checking in cattle vs guests. Average room at best. Not worth it to spend your money here and be treated so poorly.

Yelp
What an extraordinary hotel with beautiful views from the rooms. Even the breakfast area had stunning views overlooking the water. There was an extensive buffet breakfast, coffee, juices, and drinks available, and the most beautiful views while you enjoyed your meal. The room exceeded our wildest dreams with stunning views with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the beautiful water and views of Nice. The room was clean, comfortable, and outstanding, making us never want to return home. The terrace was a wonderful outdoor space where we enjoyed our drinks before dinner and, of course, found cheese and wine stores nearby to make it a genuinely romantic scenic view with my husband to watch a beautiful sunrise or sunset. The hotel is an excellent spot within walking distance of many restaurants, markets, shops, and more. A parking garage is also located nearby as well if needed. The staff was phenomenal when we stopped by the concierge after we needed an alternative to our day's plans. Ahmad was a big help, and we appreciated his advice and alternate suggestions for a last-minute change in plans. Admad was indeed a rock star, helping us map out our day at the winery and other sights and towns to visit. We returned to thank him after we had the most fabulous time. We would stay here again when we have another chance to visit Nice. The hotel was beautiful, scenic, and simply breathtaking.

Yelp
Very comfortable hotel right on the beach in Nice. Has a great breakfast and nice spa pool upper deck restaurant with a beautiful view very clean room overall was a great experience

Yelp
If it's within your budget I would recommend the Panoramic junior suite room. With the floor to ceiling windows you can see the beautiful sea from the bedroom and bathroom. Large corner wrap around patio to see the water. We had the 9th floor unit (904).

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant; we were a group attending a business meeting so I was expecting the usual cookie cutter lunch! I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor - the appetizer of delicate confit vegetables with goat cheese was not only pleasant to the eye but quite delicious - the main course was a perfectly cooked branzino served on a bed of mashed potatoes spiked with black niçoise olives drizzled with extra virgin olive oil - the desert was a delicate tiramisu with chantilly cream The view on the Mediterranean Sea on this beautiful sunny day was the icing on the cake

Yelp
It worked and I would stay again. close to some great places to eat and across the street from the beach. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Room was a nice size and clean. Didn't have much of a view but that happens . Id stay here again especially if the restaurants and beach are important.

Yelp
This hotel has the perfect location, right by the beach and walking distance to the main parts of Nice. The only weird thing is the entrance, there is a McDonald's on the ground floor and you go up one floor to the lobby.. the fast food just seems out of place. I got an upgraded room with a ocean view, the staff was friendly, the included breakfast was great! They cleaned the rooms well, although I had to call one day because it was almost 4pm and they hadn't come. Overall a great choice if you are an SPG fan, there were a few other hotels near this one, so plenty of options in this area.

Yelp
I won 1000 Euro here on my 50 Euro as my capital on a slot Ms June that gave me a bonus feature In June of 2022 ( a birthday gift for me) I didn't spend it.. now I'm in Barcelona I used it as my budget visit here.. I am so happy 3/20/2023

Yelp
horrible staff if you don't speak french do not expect to get any respect. The location is great we stayed last week for one night and loved it this time we stayed for 3 nights to end our trip and the staff was terrible absolute garbage. Misinformation from staff . Lies from staff . Rudeness from staff. The rooms are nice and location is good but because the staff is so miserable i won't stay again. Pool is not what it's made out to be either.

Yelp
Well, ok. Yes, ok. The good: *A very nice corner room with sweeping sea views. *Nice, prompt service. *SPG hotel. The great: *The 9th floor terrace cafe and bar -- GORGEOUS views, very laid back. You do not need to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy it, either! *Location -- if you want to be in the middle of it all in Nice, this is your spot. Positioned directly on the Promenade, across from the beach, walking distance to shops, Old Town, markets, restaurants, cafes -- you'll not want for much in this location! Very easy to walk almost anywhere and its a very short journey from the airport (you can see it from the hotel -- but in a cool way, not in a engines roaring over your head way!) The not so good or great at all: *The terrace off our room was not large enough to sit on -- I mean really, what's the point? Smoking? Meh. *The 9th floor doesn't serve a proper breakfast. WHY GOD WHY!? It would be SO lovely to have a light breakfast up there (more than just a croissant). The breakfast is served in this low ceilinged/dark lounge. Bleh. We never went! *A very musty/mildewy/moldy smell in the bathroom that was just bad enough to always be present but not quite bad enough to make a formal complaint and move. It was kind of, ew. *The parking garage -- avoid at all costs! We didn't know better (and were not advised even when we asked at the front desk) -- it is a labyrinth to hell and 2x we couldn't even find a spot, and if you could, good luck getting your car into it. Disastrous! The valet parking at the hotel is curbside AND cheaper, WHAT!? Would've been great to have the desk guy tell us that at check-in instead of saying "oh yes, there's an elevator straight up to reception from the garage." Or I could get out at the curb, dude! Anyway, avoid this parking garage right across the street near the park, NO. Valet. You heard it here. *The rooms were not equipped with coffee/tea facilities or corkscrews. So every time we wanted to enjoy some wine in the room we had to call downstairs and they came up and opened it for us. Surely, this is not cost effective. Put corkscrews in the room! Overall I'm going to round up here to 4 stars even though that nagging smell was a bit off putting and there were some room for improvement, it's a pretty nice hotel for exploring lovely Nice, and we slept like babies (except for the nights there were concerts 2x and the early Sunday morning marathon - HA!

Yelp
Fantastic location, and after staying in several hotels around France I can say this is one of the cleanest despite the fact that the building is quite old. Our shower had a small hole in the wall, but nothing I would complain about to the staff. We had three people staying in a two bed room, and they brought us extra towels and amenities which was very nice. This location is very close to several bus stops, which is super beneficial and the concierges are extremely helpful in setting up tours and helping you get around. They even helped us find our hotel in Nice and gave food recommendations. The breakfast buffet option is 30 euros per morning, but it is delicious and to be quite honest breakfast almost anywhere in Monaco will cost you around that price. The private beach was my favorite thing about the hotel. Very clean, and has a prime view. The pool is right next to the beach and always heated. If you've got some money to spare I would recommend the restaurant inside Le Meridien. The food is phenomenal, you can even get fish caught that day. Overall a Monaco hotel at a Monaco price. Nothing is cheap, but the staff and rooms are very good.

Yelp
This review is just for the rooftop bar... We didn't stay at this hotel. We just wanted some coffee and after dinner drinks and enjoy a nice rooftop with a view of the beach. They have colorful lit seats and lots of high top chair options too. Plenty of seating for small and big groups. Prices are fair for the hotel. Great service and great views. Would have been better during the day to see the beach activity but even at night it's beautiful.

Yelp
Overall, a lovely hotel in a fantastic location in Nice. There are many services and sites nearby, such as three rental car offices on the same block, the Promenade Des Anglais, ten minutes walking to the Flower Market/Farmer's Market and a few minutes from Old Town, as well as only a few minutes to the main shopping district. The rooms were decent size, and very clean. The rooftop restaurant and bar was fabulous, with gorgeous views of the ocean. The pool is also on the roof (!), though the pool was somewhat small and not a lot of lounge seeing around the pool itself. Still, quite the amazing experience. The lobby bar/restaurant also overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, and is a nice place to have a cup of coffee or a light breakfast. The concierge/front desk were helpful and always courteous, even with my oddball questions about shopping for weird things or where to get a hot air balloon ride. Lovely people overall. Bathrooms: The bathrooms in the hotel rooms were very clean and quite lovely. Modern fixtures and nice, fluffy towels. Bathrobes were also provided.

Yelp
This is along the Promenade de Anglais, with great access to the beach, but without it's own private beach. The restaurant at the rooftop La Terrace, was tops, and created one of the best meals I've ever had. This is also more importantly, walking distance from the old part of Nice where all the nightlife is, the open markets, and the park where concerts are held -- which we realized as awesome as we happened to visit Nice in the midst of a Jazz festival. The free Internet was slow to medium in speed, but if you want faster internet, you'd have to pay. I think fast internet should be standard, but that's just me.

Kim P.

Yelp
Clean room but not comfortable. Hard bed. Thick comforter with no lightweight sheet to use instead. Couldn't adjust AC to be comfortable-stayed hot the whole time. Very nice at reception giving lots of info. No coffee in room. They put us on 9th floor with ugly interior view. Loud mechanical noises heard all day & night.

Yelp
Can't complain because I had a wonderful stay here. To be honest I was hesistant at first due to all the negative yelp reviews but I figured I'd give it a try anyways. I'm a SPG gold member and got upgraded automatically at check-in to an ocean view room for both the rooms I booked. Complementary wifi and Evian is another plus. Both my rooms were clean, spacious and modern. Didn't seem to have the same issues as other yelp reviewers, maybe they fixed everything the other guests complained about on yelp? The pool is small, but if you're in Nice and by the ocean why would you even want to swim in a pool? Service during check-in, bell boy service and conceirge were professional and helpful. The rooftop has an amazing view. Definitely recommend to have drinks/snacks up there in the lounge portion during the day time and even to see the sunset. The hotel has a great location, right next to the beach & Old Town. The only problem is if you prefer soft sand beaches you should look to book a room in Cannes as all the beaches in Nice are pebble beaches.

Yelp
Great location but not worth the money. Only picked this hotel as it is one of the Marriott chain hotels. It is a dark, old, and poorly maintained hotel which appeared to be requiring some serious renovation unless it is trying to look like a hotel from 70's. It had some positive review of the rooftop bar/restaurant. It was overrated, small, not very clean and lacking positive service. I was surprised it is a Marriott chain hotel.. Only gave 2 stars because of the location. Never been to a Marriott hotel breakfast buffet that served instant noodle as one of the food items displayed... Not sure what ethic customer group this hotel was targeting, but as an asian, i would not eat instant noodle for a breakfast. Not sure why would anyone pay for the full breakfast buffet and eat a 20 cent instant noodle from Thailand... Also, unless you are staying in a ocean front or ocean view room, this hotel is not worth your money. I paid 370 euro per night for courtyard view room and felt like being in a prison.
google avatar

Yelp
Great location, hotel, and breakfast for platinum members. The bad- if for some reason you need a fork or cup from room service there will be a 5 euro charge. If you walk downstairs to get a fork they will call room service for you, and guess what you'll still get a charge. Outrageous! If you need a fork go get one at McDonalds and avoid this hotel outrageous fee.
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
This hotel is need of a management shakeup and a renovation. The service from the front desk is abysmal and the supposedly renovated room I stayed in was in quote poor shape.
google avatar

Tammy B.

Yelp
Absolute crap wifi. Every time your device locks, you have to login again. This was driving me insane. No beach attached so you must pay. Like another reviewer, I have left rubbish by the bin to be taken away, 2 nights in a row now and it is still sitting here. Also nobody appreciates housekeeping letting themselves into your room at 8.30am (thanks for waking my toddler). Breakfast is pretty good although so it should be for €25 each. Balcony is not really a balcony. You can stand only. No space for even a chair there. Rooftop pool, not what we expected. No lounges, only a few beanbags. Tiny pool that is absolutely freezing!!!! Website photos gave a different impression. Best thing about this place is definitely its location.

Yelp
Loved everything about this hotel! The location, the view and the staff. The view is spectacular many locals come to have a drink and look at the French Riviera from the roof top. Right next to old town you can walk to many of the shops and restaurants. Perfect stay and plan on going back soon.

N H.

Yelp
Good location and that is it. Terrible house cleaning - either pound on the door super early or never come to clean. When they do clean nothing is actually done. The restaurant is disgusting and bland. The staff all around is very unhelpful and gives wrong information every time. Asked five different people opening times for the restaurant and each one gave a totally different answer. No apology for room not getting cleaned, staff taking the key from the room, keys getting deactivated multiple times, no towels in bathroom....

Yelp
The hotel is located nicely on the promenade and the views are good of the Med. It's amenities are "ok". I do expect more from the Starwood brands. This hotel falls short of e.g. most Westin's. Parking is difficult and poorly signed. The rooms are clean but not spotless. Our shower did not have a curtain. The staff are friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved everything about this hotel. Here's pool up top and a buffet style breakfast in bar downstairs. Full service restaurant and bar upstairs as well, open to non-guests as well. Great location to the beach and the views are phenomenal. Maids and service outstanding and front desk personnel some of the best. Great, modern rooms and comfy beds and nice amenities. Everything good about Le Méridien Nice!

Yelp
I don't understand the low ratings but my two-night stay at this standard business-class hotel was pretty enjoyable. Maybe it's because I'm an exhibitionist and the floor-to-ceiling windows adjacent to my bed provided a great view for lurking voyeurs outside? Carnal preferences aside, this location is unbeatable. Situated right off the promenade, I admired the beach view right from my balcony. The room itself was on the smaller side, but clean and comfortable. Although there wasn't anything about it that particularly stood out, nothing was amiss either. I loved the daily complimentary espresso drink vouchers that were laid out on the bed, which I was able to redeem downstairs and sip leisurely in the lobby. My only complaints are for the hair dryer and internet. The hair dryer cord in the bathroom was way too short and obviously designed for little people - I suffered from body and headaches from bending my knees and twisting my neck to the side just to dry my hair. The internet policy was also extremely stingy for a business hotel. Free Wifi was only offered in the lobby area for 30 minutes per day.

Yelp
We spent the first toe days of our Honeymoon here and had a wonderful time. Since I am a gold SPG member, we got into our room as soon as we arrived in the morning and could take a nice long nap. We also were given a beautiful room on the top floor, another benefit of being a SPG member. Our room overlooked the beach and we had a lovely terrace to enjoy. The service was excellent, the room was modern, well maintained, and very clean. We had a gorgeous bathroom, very posh with a rainfall shower and a large dressing area. The raised lobby and the main restaurant seem like an afterthought. It's very long and narrow with the elevator right in the middle. However, we didn't spend much time in the lobby.

Yelp
There are many hotel choices in Nice that are far better values than this one. This by far is the worse Le Meridian we have ever experienced in the chain. In the U.S. , Le Meridian is a luxury hotel , in Nice it is no better than a Holiday Inn. The hallways and some rooms , reek of sewage type smells. It needs a city inspection. The hotel is just dirty. We brought up McDonalds coffee and croissants from our walk and sat in the reception area with friends and drank our coffee. Some manager and then a waitress rushed over to informed us that McDonald's was not allowed in the hotel. Just stupid. This hotel just needs new management. It is so inhospitable so unFrench.

Yelp
Here's a review that I wrote on another site, but before I get to that, here's a snippet of the response I got from management before you read my review: "Unfortunately, you didn't mention the fact that you were on your honeymoon, neither when you made your reservation nor during your stay. Had our onsite reservations team been aware of the fact before your visit, they would have made sure that you were offered our special "honeymoon" package." Apparently, you need to let them know that you're on a honeymoon if you want normal services like a clean room .... And also, I did let them know it was our honeymoon. ************ We booked a garden and sea view room for our honeymoon (note: the balcony they show on the website is NOT what you will get. It's a tiny terrace and there's no place to sit - just a thin strip to stand on). When we got there, we were greeted with a bowl of rotting fruit, an a/c unit that didn't work, a bathroom door that didn't shut, an uncomfortable bed, and a clogged sink. As the stay went on, the garbage that we placed beside the tiny garbage can was never removed from our room - including the rotting fruit - so we had to remove it ourselves. There were bands that played on the the promenade that plug into amplifiers around 9pm at night and go until around 1:30, so if you want to turn in early, bring ear plugs. But by far, the most BIZARRE thing that happened was when we returned to our room on our last night, and there was a dirty glass covered in red lipstick, that had not been there when we left our room. I don't wear lipstick, so someone had definitely been back in our room after they had previously made our bed in the morning. The people that work there are quite nice, however, it was NOT worth the almost $600 a night we were paying. When we voiced our concerns, they apologized, but did nothing to make up for it. Not even taking the 25 euro (horrible) breakfast off of our final tab. The only thing the place really has going for it, is it's location. But they have nothing to do with how beautiful the sea is :) We saved our pennies for a year for a romantic honeymoon location in Nice, and unfortunately, were not given that. Maybe other rooms in this location are better (we were the corner on the 5th floor), but I would steer clear of this hotel chain.

Yelp
I was SPG Platinum and now Marriott for 20 consecutive years. Last 4 out of 5 years an Ambassador. I find most complaints in reviews are fuelled by emotion and I therefore tend to discount them somewhat and give the property the benefit of the doubt. In this case I can verify that from 2016 - present the complaints were well founded and actually treated the property much better than they deserved. In all my years of travel I never had an experience like this. The staff, especially at the front desk, was rude, disinterested and hostile. Our room had (2) 25 cl bottles of water for two persons. Since this is an amenity I normally get, I asked for more daily water at the front desk where I was told I was not entitled to more water per day and I could drink tap water or buy water from the vending machines in the lobby (water there was 10 time the price on the street). I told the staff that their attitude would certainly be highlighted in my review. The called me a "black mailer". I just can't imagine talking to a guest or customer the way they did, much less a guest with my status. They were so aggressive I actually felt unsafe. The property is shabby, run down and in great need of repairs. We had cracked water glasses, threadbare and ripped towels, and visible dirt in cracks, crevices and along baseboards. Walls and doors were chipped and dented along most edges. In the corridor carpets were stained and ripped in places. In the dining room chairs were worn and chipped. Wooden floor had holes where floor had delaminated in high traffic areas. I read in reviews on Trip Advisor, that the GM had been promising to take care of these issues since 2016, but he has obviously failed to rectify any of these problems. When I sat down with him to discuss my distress, he said if I was unhappy he could transfer me to the Hyatt, but my status would not be recognized and I would not get any benefits. After observing the guest mix, it is obvious this hotel enjoys a captive audience from various cruise and tour groups who have become merely "cash cows" and not valued guests. They may be "here today and gone tomorrow" but none of us appreciate the bad attitude, the disrepair and the lack of interest by the management. I tried to get assistance from my Ambassador Service and from Customer Service in Ireland. I never heard anything further from the staff at the hotel for 5 days. Finally the Personal Assistant to the General Manager contacted me to have a meeting. She told me that I was entitled to have as much bottle water as I wanted. She had no idea why staff told me differently. They offered us a free dinner in the dining room, but that did not really solve the overwhelming problems this property has. This hotel is an embarrassment to have in the Marriott portfolio.

Yelp
Le Meridien has gone to be one of the optimally located hotels on the Promenade. My dad and I were here from Dec 26th, 2016 to Jan 3rd, 2017 so we had about 9 days/nights spent here. Unfortunately, we had a delay in our bags coupled with motion sickness so we weren't in a good mood the first day and we lost a good first day in exploring Nice more. That being said, our fortunes improved when the bags came in by the end of the second day and had a nice experience here (pun intended). Le Meridien is a four star hotel according to many sources but if you look for vacation packages and travel sites, you can find it at two star prices in the off-season and certain weeks. I didn't get to use the pool but the terrace view was pretty spectacular. In addition, the gym isn't as big as one might think but it's adequate for some people who want to stay fit over the course of their stay. They have a restaurant adjacent to the lobby which seems to be a popular place to get a few drinks or have breakfast. The terrace has a restaurant too I believe so. Obviously you can expect rooms with an ocean view to be more pricey than a regular room. This is an SPG hotel so if you're a member you get some perks out of your stay. We stayed on the fifth floor in a standard room but beds were nice, they gave plenty of complimentary water. Concierge is friendly and helpful. There's a McDonald's outside and adjacent to the hotel. Close to Place Massena which is where the nearest tram station is. There's only one tram line currently in service and that's run by Lignes which I reviewed earlier. Really close to Monaco (about 8 miles or so but it's a scenic way going up and down hills) and Italy (about an hour). We usually pack our trips so we're not just sleeping in, and walking the promenade and the city from day to day. We took day trips and day tours to different places basically every day so we were only at the hotel to sleep and we were back to our busy schedule. If you like to live like a local, you can get a 1L bottles of water at any of the Casino supermarche grocery stores for under a Euro. Groceries are fairly cheap compared to restaurants (yes, Casino is the name of it). Overall, it's a very classy hotel in a prime location so if you're looking to visit Nice and the French Riviera and get a good deal on it, go for it!!

Yelp
Definitely better to eat on the roof top than stay. Having worked here for 12 years on and off and now living here for 3, there are plenty of Boutique hotels you can find that are more worth the cost, and they treat you better. Try Hotel Massena

Yelp
We picked the Meridien for the first night of our trip... just wanted a quick and easy hotel in the center of town. 1. There is NO valet parking, despite the verbage on the website 2. The in room carpet is dirty and stained 3. The a/c, admittedly, I am not the best with the metric system, but continue to doubt that 10 Celsius translates into 78 Fahrenheit. 4. Pool, we didn't use it but did take a look. The images on the website COMPLETELY misrepresents the experience I expect you will encounter. As Nice was one night an out, I do not have an alternate, good luck.

Yelp
Location is excellent, as is the terrace bar. Attention to detail to decoration not what it should be; tired, dated and somewhat shabby and not in a chic way. So, when we arrived, it all looked promising indeed. We checked in at the reception and went to our respective rooms. There was a party of 4 of us, 2 girls in each room. We dumped our bags off and headed straight to the terrace to get some breakfast and to take in the stunning views. I think that the breakfast menu is somewhat limited, I ended up just having some sparkling water and a coffee. My friend had the fruit bowl, which, for nearly 20 Euros, was very disappointing to be quite frank. We had lunch there as well and I went for the burger, which was quite good to be fair. So, the corridor seems like it was painted in the 90s with matt lilac emulsion and looked tired and grubby and the carpets could have had a blinking good clean too! In my room, when you looked a bit closer, they were dents and scrapes all over, mastic in the bathroom needed doing and the tiles bleaching. I was nearly driven mad by the TV channels that they have to chose from! The air con was good, and the beds were comfy and clean. My friends room, the air con wasn't great at all, and considering they were upgraded as one of the girls is a preferred guest, the room was tired and not what you would pay that particular room rate for. The "Spa" is basic and the same as a nail shop with a massage room that you would find on the high street. Lovely ladies working in their, but cheap fittings, messy, dusty, overcrowded and so on. I don't think I would go back unless I got a really good room rate to be honest.

Yelp
This is probably not the best hotel in town, but one of the best in interior design and comfort. As you would spect from a Le Meridien Hotel, it's great for every journey, traveling solo, with friends or family, a unique design and great quality are the signature of this property to #unlocknice

Yelp
Stayed Sunday - Wednesday in late July. Absolutely wonderful - room was top notch, breakfast great, staff helpful. Rooftop deck and pool are lovely - although the pool is kind of small - don't expect to get a seat up there :( Do get a room with a sea view - totally worth it. We booked a partial sea view/rooftop view through their website, and were upgraded to one of the best rooms in the hotel, on the SW corner, 9th floor, with a balcony with both southern (sea) and western (rooftops) view. I'm guessing this is because my husband has status with SPG, as he travels for business a lot. Even if we had one of the lower floors without the wraparound balcony, the seaview rooms are absolutely worth it. Very nice to sit out and chill and watch the sunset. Location can't be beat - very close to lots of shops, restaurants, 10 minute walk to the Old Town. Other than breakfast (which obviously caters to an international business crowd, as there were numerous options available), we didn't eat in the hotel, so can't speak to that. We did always cap our day out with drinks at the rooftop bar/restaurant... service was good, wine was surprisingly reasonably priced (order a bottle of the house wine, it's only on the menu by the glass, but they did serve us a bottle when asked - about 30-35 Euros), and you can't beat the view. I can see where some have judged the condition of the hotel by the hallways - does seem weird that they would have just painted over wallpaper or some other covering without filling in the cracks. And based on what others have said, it sounds like parts of the hotel have not yet been refurbished. However, the room we had was perfectly awesome, updated, and very comfortable (except for the bed - definitely standard hard European mattress). Would definitely stay again, and definitely in a room with a sea view!

Yelp
Worst massage I've ever gotten in my life at the spa. This hotel is so terrible in need to take a secondary vacation to unwind from this horror story.

Yelp
The hotel needs to be updated in terms of new paint job and carpet but everyone here was extremely helpful and friendly. If you stay getting a room with a view is a must. The standard rooms have a view of other rooms.

Yelp
A little far from the train station, but right across from the beach and on Promenade des Anglais is nice. Pros: - Free breakfast. - Across from beach. - Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Cons: - Loud music playing in the elevator 24/7 can get annoying - Little run-down from the outside. - Bathrooms needed remodeling as the wall paint was peeling. - Hated the lavender 8th floor wall colors. Felt like I was at a circus. - Free internet only at the lobby. What hotel doesn't offer free WiFi these days. - Not enough lighting in the rooms. - Although they're across from the beach, they don't have beach towels. WTH?!

Yelp
Going on vacation means having a relaxed day to explore the sites and sounds of a beautiful city of Nice. We loved our stay here. The problem is sleeping at night without a working air conditioning system is a terrible way to spend your nights. We have moved rooms and yet we experience the same problem. Finally on our last night I was told because of the remodeling something happened to the a/c system. 6 nights of heat and humidity is awful not to mention the loud banging sound of the AC system. Can't open the balcony doors since everyone smokes out on the balcony's even though it's a non smoking hotel. Six nights of restless sleep made our stay here a nightmare. Never again Le meridian. I hope that marriotts takes note of this. I'm sticking with Hilton group. Le meridian didn't care of our frustration.

Yelp
The Promenade des Anglais is famous for a reason, and there is no better place to enjoy all that Nice and the South of France have to offer than at this hotel. My family has been here five years in a row--we can't stay away because it's so idyllic. Staying here means access to sweeping sea views, a lightning-fast walk to the beach, a rooftop pool, and getting anywhere you want to go in the City (or beyond, thanks to extensive bus transit to St. Paul Vence, Grasse, Cannes, etc located within a block of the hotel). The staff are terrific, top to bottom, and the breakfast generous and good-quality. Comfortable beds and linens, very clean rooms. The painting and carpet show signs of wear, but are set to be replaced over the next year. A last note would be about George, the head of room service. He's been there forever and is fantastically old-school and professional. Added an extra dash of personality and fun to the stay.

Yelp
Well, after a pleasant experience in the past, we came back for a return visit. We booked the same room class (city view with partial sea view). Last year, as well as their website, that meant a room overlooking the park and up the shoreline. This year it meant looking across the street at an apartment and their laundry. Yes, there was seaview, just don't bend over too far to see it. Management's response was basically "ya got what ya booked.....we are full". The "full" aspect became clear....you want towels for 2? Drinking glasses? Forgettaboutit...(we did complain a room should have those and did receive them)...shocking how bad this turned out to be. I can only assume a change in management?

Yelp
This is a terrible hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE. My wife and I are members of Starwood Preferred Guest program, so where ever we travel we look first for SPG member hotels. Le Meridien is supposed be a very nice hotel according to SPG and Le Meridien. We found out otherwise; At check in the staff seemed pleasant, but would not let us use the hotel Internet "if you go to the bar you can use McDonald's Internet" (McDonald's happens to be located directly down stairs) We were invited to go to the bar while we waited for our room, (in the past we have been offered free drinks as SPG members while we wait for our room) this time we were not. Our arrival was late in the day too. Our room was down right horrible and dirty. There were scuff marks on every wall in the room, the bathroom door had a hole in it right at eye level. Damaged, chipped and peeling paint. Small holes in the curtains that looked across the hotel to a beautiful view of all the other rooms. Damaged wall outlets, the main entry light fixture had cracks all around it in the ceiling. The room smelled, all the firniure had damaged finishes, the bed was less than nice. After dinner (not at the hotel!) I left and decided to go tell the front desk. As I walked through the hotel I saw damage throughout the rest of the hotel. The damage went from floor to ceiling, furniture and fixtures. In general Le Meridien is a Dirty, Dingy, and Run Down hotel. The roof top patio is very nice, great view of the private beach (which costs 25 euro per person each day) the bar seems nice, but don't go a minute after 10pm because they close promptly at 10. I was really looking forward to enjoying a drink with my wife after we had walked around a bit that evening. I thought it would be a nice romantic way to enjoy the warm evening winding down away from the hustle and bustle below with my wife. And it would be.... Just not at the Le Meridien! Parking is not free or validated but that is to be expected in a city. My wife and I travel quite extensively all around the US and the World. From backpacking in remote places to staying and the newest, swanky luxury hotels around the world. We can have a good time and enjoy our-selfs anywhere. I am able to brush off a horrible stay like this with out a problem. I just want to make sure any one expecting any thing more than motel 6 service and accommodations should look else where. I would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel, use a internet booking site a choose a place near by if you must stay in Nice. But I would stay in Monaco or Monte Carlo if I were travel near here again. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/lemeridien/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1918

Yelp
Nightmare on the Riviera. It has been years since I have stayed in any hotel below 4 stars. The reason being that I have high expectations when it comes to service. I am paying more (much more) for it after all. From the moment I arrived and began my first interaction with the receptionist with the dark curly hair (perhaps Brazilian?) I knew my streak of wonderful hotel experiences had ended. Every question I asked made her visibly annoyed, and I felt like perhaps we were on the wrong sides of the table. The concierge (whose job solely exists to help guests with booking various events and finding the locations of places they want to go) also had a terrible attitude. I wanted see the lavender fields and asked where the closest place was to go visit...well apparently other people had asked that before so he thought a good response would be something like "too many people have been asking about this." Wow! My husband came back to the hotel late one night. He was the only guest in the lobby. He asked the fellow at reception to grab him a bottle of water and he refused! He told him to check the mini bar or call in room dining. My husband again insisted he wanted it now and said he is fine with paying, but he again told him no very rudely. The housekeeping staff were very annoyed and huffed and puffed the entire time they cleaned. Every single person that worked in this hotel seems to hate their jobs and find working in the service industry as an annoyance. The only seemingly pleasant person is the one that responds to complaint posts on SPG and trip advisor. Well, I read through some complaints from years ago and it doesn't sound like any of the times you have "informed" management about issues has paid off. The toilet is in a tiny side room with a door that opens inward. It's a chore to get in and out without rubbing all over the toilet every time you use it. The only good parts about this hotel is the large balcony and the view. The last SPG property I stayed at was the 5 star St. Regis in Bora Bora. If the Meridien in Nice is a 4 star hotel, then the St. Regis should be 10 at minimum.

Yelp
The other reviews are correct. I would stay away from this hotel. I am a SPG gold member and a very disappointed. There are many other hotels to choose from. We experienced bugs in our room and rude staff. The only positive is the decent location which isn't even the best.

Yelp
business hotel with good staff. It works and the rooms are not euro small either.

Yelp
I arrived late, everything seemed to be closed, and was excited as hell to see my favorite products in the bathroom, a nice staff, and more. I'll be finished this tomorrow
