Le Méridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa

Right on the beach, walking distance on a walkway to untold numbers of beach bars with all sorts if foods, wines and beers. Hotel has major breakfast included. Daytime food is lacking, especially during swing seasons when beach bar isn’t open but easy enough to walk for food and drink. Night time menu seems limited, to finicky American but, again, many walkable options. The beach has free umbrellas and chairs and the Med. Water is so smooth and warm. Several interesting wineries nearby, short cab rides or multiple options with rental car rides away in Penedes wine region, not far away. We’ve been there twice, coming off cruises ending in Barcelona. Wouldn’t mind going again. It’s a great way to extend a New Englanders summer into fall.

This hotel is really one of the best hotels Ive stayed at in a long time. The attention to detail and supreme guest service was outstanding. We were looking forward to a nice long respite and this hotel and the staff did not disappoint.The hotel is 5 star all the way. The rooms were beautiful and well appointed. They were clean and the staff were attentive and just lovely. We hope to return next year for our 20th wedding anniversary. We know now where we can spend time in Spain and just plain relax and enjoy. Because I am a platinum member they upgraded our room to a beautifully appointed Ocean front room with a lovely balcony. The hotel is a gem and should be considered if you are thinking about going to Spain. Well done Le Meridien Ra Beach Hotel and Spa. I will be raving about it on my Podcast when I return home to Canada. I hope that more people find your lovely place. There was not anything that I would have changed. Le Méridien Ra Beach Hotel & Spa is a beautiful hotel with a fantastic beachfront location. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. The town is only a short walk away (about 10 minutes), making it convenient if you want to explore beyond the hotel. The rooftop pool, however, was a little disappointing — it didn’t feel very clean and the water was quite cold, so we didn’t enjoy it as much as expected. On the other hand, the spa is excellent. I had a massage there and would definitely recommend it if you have the chance, as it’s a real highlight of the stay. When dining in town, don’t expect fine dining or high-end restaurants. The food is decent, there are plenty of options to choose from, but the quality isn’t outstanding. Most waiters in town don’t speak much English, which occasionally made ordering a bit tricky, but we actually appreciated the authentic and local feel that came with it. Overall, the hotel is a great place to relax by the beach, enjoy the spa, and soak in the atmosphere of the area, with just a few minor drawbacks.

We, as a family with two kids and a small dog, stayed at this lovely hotel for 12 days in July 2025—and we had an absolutely wonderful experience! The breakfast buffet and evening meals were delicious, and having the beach right in front of us was simply brilliant. What truly made our stay special was the outstanding staff: we were given a complimentary upgrade to a larger room, which allowed us to enjoy the property even more. The hotel is perfect for families, and we can highly recommend it! P.S. The rooftop pool is also a highlight—relaxing with a beautiful view. We hope to return soon!

Absolutely beautiful location, and astounding architecture! Beautiful sunsets and good food too. I will say it’s quite pricey, but my parents are paying not me! The staff was very friendly and accommodating too.

Beautiful beachfront property that has a lot going for it! The rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable, especially the beds. Throughout our stay the staff were great, despite the hotel being quite full, and gave us great recommendations on where to eat and places to visit. The lobby and main bar have also been transformed after the renovation and are just beautiful and imposing (the cocktails are really tasty too!). Breakfast was fresh and with lots of choice and we also really enjoyed the spa. All in all, a very relaxing stay that we’d be happy to repeat

This hotel has so much going for it! Really easy to get to from Barcelona airport, but without all the crowds. Spectacular long sandy beach, great pools, beautiful rooms, fantastic restaurants... and to top it off - some of the best staff and service I have ever had. This team know what they're doing! Such an easy, relaxing, enjoyable stay. I can't wait to go back for more!

After 2 nights in Rome, a 9 day Celebrity Equinox Mediterranean Sea Cruise, we decided to stay at the beach and chose La Meridian Ra. It was a perfect decision. ||As a Marriott Lifetime Titanium Elite member, my husband has stayed in a few Marriott properties. He rated this as one of his top five favorites. From Ricardo who checked us in and spent extra time answering all of our questions to the young staff member who came from all away across the lobby, unasked, to take a pic for us to the DO Restaurant staff who attempted to make my husband a glass of peach iced tea (wasn't Georgia iced tea... but it was good, and the effort was appreciated), the staff was wonderful. That comes from the top. Kudos to management at this hotel. ||The property itself is in a great location and has an interesting history. Our room was spacious, the layout was brilliant, and the view was killer. ||We couldn't have asked for a better three days to rest from our busy prior 11 days and going into our final two days in Barcelona before headed home on a long plane trip. ||My only "suggestion" and no points come off for this... is the towels are a little thin and skimpy and don't do justice to the plush bedding and robes provided as well as the beauty of the spa environment. ||The breakfast buffet was like none I've seen before. If you're a Marriott Elite member, take the breakfast over the points. You'll be glad you did especially considering how pathetic Marriott's Elite point system has become. ||If we ever find ourselves in that regions of Spain again, this is a must stay.

Pros: The beach is awesome, they had towels and foot showers. Cons: Lots of problems here. Seems very disorganized. Food wasn't great in the hotel for lunch. No hot water in the shower. TV doesn't work. Has an indoor pool but kids aren't allowed. We did enjoy our stay here because it's in a cool beach area with restaurants and not overly touristy. The staff are very friendly here but the management of the hotel doesn't seem to be "on top" of issues.

Amazing hotel - views were unbelievable and the staff was really friendly. The room was really large and the breakfast was amazing as well. I would totally stay here again and recommend it. Such a beautiful property.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. This was our favorite place to stay in Spain. The concierge was very helpful in getting us Renfe tickets and made us feel very welcome. We can not recommend this place enough. Thank you for everything!!

Let me preface this by saying I have never really posted a bad review. I am not a negative person and only want to recognize positive experiences. I would also add that I have been been a Starwood Platinum Preferred Guest for many years. I am always happy with their properties and the people who make my stays enjoyable. I have stayed in over a dozen Le Meridian Hotels around the globe, but unfortunately have to report this was my worst experience dealing with hotel management in all my years of travel. I had a business emergency and had to suddenly leave in the middle of my stay and the property charged me for the rest of the nights on my reservation. I stay over a hundred nights a year and this has never happened to me before. Every property has been flexible when these circumstances arise. I even called the Platinum desk and they pleaded with the hotel director on my behalf. In the end greed overcame customer satisfaction and loyalty. Consequently, I want to make the traveling community aware of Le Meridien Ra management practices. So, fellow SPG members and business travelers, avoid this property at your own peril. Darrin Cooke
