Le Méridien Seoul Myeongdong (Seoul, Korea) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Occupying a renovated mid-century office tower in Seoul’s high-fashion hub, Le Méridien Seoul Myeongdong preserves a peaceful oasis high above the bustling street scene below. The lobby bar is a natural starting (and ending) point, full of eclectic patterns and inventive mixology, while the heated, 15th-floor pool offers a refreshing dip with a view. The in-room décor plays up the hotel’s mid-century roots with statement furnishings in bold colorways and geometric wall treatments." - Tablet Hotels

We have just completed another wonderful stay at Le Méridien and it never fails to impress. James continues to run an amazing organisation.||Buffet breakfast is world class.||The pool, gym (new equipment) are first class facilities. ||Location is perfect.||The lounge is what makes this hotel really stand out. Big thanks to Soyi and her team for creating a perfect atmosphere complemented with some of the best food and beverages we have ever experienced in any lounge.||We will be back!

I stayed 6 nights at the Le Méridien Seoul, Myeongdong on a trip to Seoul and would summarize it as a hotel that has potential to live up to its 5-star hotel rating that Google gives it, but has a ways to go before it reaches that point. There are certain things about the experience as well as the room itself that are rough around the edges. I will also preface this review by saying that I have Marriott Platinum Elite status so experiences may differ. I booked a Deluxe Guest Room, 1 King, City View and was upgraded to a larger corner room on a high floor with club lounge access. I checked in around 4:30-5:00PM and was told the room wasn't ready despite it being late in the afternoon, so I settled for a room a few floors below since I was tired from the travel day. The staff at the check in counter were great and showed me the room before committing to it. The room itself looks nice on the surface but leaves a bit to be desired when you look closer. Some of the things I noticed were: -Black tape on the walls to hide cabling in the washroom -Trim pieces falling off the washroom doors -A random hole in the wall -Exposed cabling in the closets In the grand scheme of things, those are minor qualms. The biggest issue that I had was with the thermostat. No matter what you set the temperature to, after some time, it seems to reset to a very high pre-set temperature so the room would get very warm overnight. This seems to not be an isolated issue either as a friend that was staying in the Moxy Seoul, Myeongdong (which is the same building) had the same problem. There is no key card to insert when you enter the room either so it's a mystery as to what is causing the thermostat to keep resetting. I didn't eat at the club lounge other than for a snack here or there, but they had an excellent spread for dinner which beats out any club lounge in North America that I have been to. The drink selection in the lounge was also great and convenient for bottled water, pop, or a beer. Platinum Elite members and higher receive complimentary breakfast at the restaurant next to the check in desk (not at the club lounge). Their breakfast had many options whether you want Western or Asian style. The highlights were the sushi bar and noodle bar. I looked forward to breakfast every day that I stayed at this property! The location is great for tourists as it's in the heart of Myeongdong, allowing easy access to many restaurants, the night market, as well as public transit. As well, the housekeeping staff did an excellent job with the daily cleaning and turndown service. For context, during this trip, I stayed at true 5 star hotels such as the Conrad Osaka and HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO and I think that the Le Méridien Seoul, Myeongdong is a 4 star hotel at best based on my experience. Overall, I think this property does many things correctly and is in a central location, but with a few improvements and more attention to detail, it can really really elevate the experience for its guests.

We booked a deluxe club king for our trip. Unfortunately our room had an issue, but the staff were very quick to address the issue and they made sure that our stay was uninterrupted and smooth for the rest of the trip. Really commendable effort by the whole team, especially So Yi, William, Ellie, Angela. They were patient and attentive to our needs. Location of the hotel is unbeatable in Myeongdong. Right between the night market and the mall. Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Thank you!

The Le Meridien really is an excellent place to stay in Seoul. Our trip was cut short due a strike which cancelled our return flight to SFO. However, our time there was superb. the reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. They have an amazing patisserie, and you can order to go to your room if you want. We had paid the extra to take advantage of the Executive lounge on the 15th Floor. This was a well-appointed space and as with our experience at your reception we were very impressed with their attention to detail. We had to leave early for the airport, and they arranged a Taxi leaving the details in an envelope in my room. When I went downstairs at 5.00am in the morning the lady on the desk was aware of me and advised me what to do. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. All in all, a great but short stay.

I recently stayed at Le Meridien Seoul (Myeongdong) and, unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the hotel’s breakfast is truly excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options that cater to international palates, other aspects of my stay were significantly lacking. The most concerning issue was the limited English proficiency among the staff. For a hotel that presents itself as an international destination, it was surprising and disappointing to find that communication was such a challenge. Many members of the team seemed unprepared to assist non-Korean speaking guests, which created a sense of isolation and frustration during my stay. Basic requests often turned into lengthy and confusing exchanges, and this was particularly noticeable in the hotel’s bars and cafés, where clear communication is vital for a pleasant experience. Additionally, the overall attitude and approach of the staff lacked a sense of solidarity and warmth. Instead of feeling welcome and accommodated, I often sensed a reluctance to address guest needs adequately. Simple interactions that should have been seamless and hospitable instead felt awkward and uninviting. Le Meridien Seoul (Myeongdong) clearly caters more to local guests, which in itself is not an issue, but the lack of effort to embrace and accommodate international visitors is disheartening. This could be a wonderful hotel for those who speak Korean and are familiar with local customs, but for an international traveler seeking a comfortable and welcoming stay, it falls short. In summary, while the breakfast at Le Meridien Seoul is undoubtedly a highlight, the language barrier and lack of guest-focused service significantly detract from the overall experience. I hope the management takes steps to increase the cultural awareness and language capabilities of their staff to better serve a diverse clientele.

Excellent mid size hotel. Rooms are new or renovated and are clean, modern and well organized. Breakfast is not huge like other 5 star hotels in Seoul but of good quality and sufficient selection. My only remark is that the public spaces of the hotel are small and are no up to a 5 star hotel level. The bar is an afterthought, small, poor selection of drinks, lobby is small and crowded. All in all, would recommend it

I've traveled all over the world and this was my first time staying at a Le Meridian. Not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant as I've never stayed in any of their locations but I trusted my wife to book a solid place. This place was just great! Rooms, food, service and ambience were amazing! Staff was beyond friendly and attentive. What pushed this over the top was when we were curving out. One of the staff members Kevin Kim not only helped me with weighing our bags, but walked out in the pouring rain to see if our transportation was lost outside. We have him the contact number and he called spoke with our driver amd directed him on how to get to the under ground parking so we wouldn't get wet. They offered us dry towels to wipe bags down, umbrellas when it was raining. Service was just beyond and his kindness and attention to detail surpassed all my expectations! Thank you for the great memories!

I stayed 6 nights at the Méridien in October 2025. It is such a disappointing experience. The hotel is very well located in the heart of Myeongdong and tick a lot of boxes. However it does not tick them well in my opinion as every touch points feel almost cheap. It a premium hotel but definitely not a luxury experience: common area like bar/restaurant feels like a Novotel or 3-4 star hotels, the pool is nice on pictures but the execution is very cheap and putting AC in a pool area is a bit stupidly, it is crazy cold there. The food is very average to not say it is a shame for such hotel. And the room have a great size, great view but the overall design and execution feels cheap and very very noisy from the corridor. It is at best a 4 stars hotel for European standards, miles miles away from the best hotels in town like Josun Palace or Four Seasons (yes they are almost double the price, but the overall experience is ten times superior). Overall I do not recommend this hotel.
