Le Méridien Seoul, Myeongdong

My family and I (7 y.o + adults) had a wonderful stay at Le Meridien. We originally booked a deluxe double, but arrived earlier than expected and our room wasn't ready. They graciously moved us to a deluxe king w/ rollaway that was available immediately and it worked out better for us. The room itself was well appointed, clean, and even with the rollaway, we had plenty of space. The best part of the room, however, was the filtered water dispenser. Having it right there and always available was so convenient. ||Aside from the room, we did go to the lounge for breakfast each morning and it was good. There was enough variety during our 5 days here that we didn't get bored with the options. We also attended happy hour one night and the spread during that time was good as well with plenty of drink options. The heated pool was also a very nice surprise when we had a more relaxing day. Keep in mind, swim caps are required, but they do provide them when you walk in. They also had a handy luggage scale right by the elevators. ||Location-wise, it's maybe a 2 minute walk to the main stretch of Myeongdong which is both good and bad. Coming back from the the subway station at night can be like swimming upstream, but once you get past the main drag, it opens up. Right outside is a nice bakery and there are also plenty of options from the street vendors and the major malls right across the street. ||All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back the next time we're in Seoul

Great location. Nice spacious room. Comfortable bed. Strong shower. Thick and soft towels. Clean toilet. Regular round the clock room cleaning service. The only drawback is that there is no hanging space for ironing my clothes even though a steamer iron is available.

Absolutely loved this hotel and the area where it's located. After seeing a lot of the city and wandering around, we determined we had made the best choice possible. The Moxxy hotel is located on the bottom floors of the building. Le Méridien takes up the upper part. The lobby is on the fourth floor, so when you arrive, go up to fourth floor. The concierge staff, my Vans-wearing smooth as silk crew, made our stay even better. All of them were just fantastic offering advice on places to eat or how to catch the subway, which is a block away. They all spoke English and are a great resource, they deserve a lot of credit for our fantastic stay here. Myeongdong itself is an amazing place to be, the food stalls and markets in the area will be the highlight of your visit to Seoul. We'll definitely stay here if we are lucky enough to visit this great city again. Extremely safe location in spite of the tons of visitors in the neighborhood. Oh, and they have coffee machines in the lobby and a fridge with Häagen-Dazs ice cream for Bonvoy Marriott Club members. Also, purified water in your room to fill your bottles. Housekeeping staff is great too.

We arrived at midnight & check in was smooth & quick. The front desk manager was welcoming & friendly. Our room was very comfortable & there was a bottle of wine, nuts & fruits on the table which was nice after a long & tiring flight.|The staff in the lounge were friendly & helpful, a big mention to Soyi Lee (manager), Lisa Lim and Jamie Ryoo. The all day food & beverages services were excellent.|The location of the hotel is great! There is a reason everyone says Myeongdong is a great place for tourists to call home for a few days.|We will definitely come back!

By far the best Hotel we have ever stayed at. The rooms were pristine, service was impeccable and the staff went above and beyond every single day. We felt so relaxed in our room after a busy day of sigh seeing and shopping, we were always greeted with lovely smiles from both reception desks. We loved the in room water filter system and the coffee maker. Perfectly located in the heart of the fun shopping area. We also dined for lunch or our last day and again, food and service amazing. My husband left his phone in the taxi and had no way of contacting the taxi driver. The staff immediately tried their best to review and see what could be done while we checked in. The taxi driver came back and returned his phone to the hotel staff, the hotel staff delivered our bags for us, provided a birthday welcome gift for my husband AND ensured our phone belonged to us with unlocking before returning. Exceptional service from the moment we stepped out of the taxi for our arrival. The people of Korea are amazing. Le Méridien team, simply exceptional! We will be back and 100% stay at Le Meridien again. Our friends have been referred and will be staying for their upcoming trip in March as well!

Check-in was very smooth and room was excellent. Really appreciated the Korean water filter, the bidet, the espresso maker and very comfortable beds. We were in a two full bed room and felt like it was just right for our family. The air conditioning worked well which was a godsend for hot Seoul summers! The gym is well equipped and very clean - in fact, the entire hotel is very clean. Our housekeeping was perfect and we got to say goodbye to our housekeeper on the check-out date - she was really lovely and kind. Special recognition should go to the night-time Front Desk Supervisor Damon. He helped us with utensils and some trouble getting into our room late at night. He was so helpful, patient, and personable and it was nice to say hello to him in passing over the following few days. The location can't be beat - just a couple minutes walk to Line 4, maybe 10 min to Line 1, a million restaurants/street food right outside your door, CU convenience store downstairs, short <10 min walk to Namdaemun for a more traditional market. Insadong and the Gyeongbukgung palace not far either. There's a reason everyone says Myeongdong is a great place for tourists to call home for a few days, even if you don't end up spending a ton of time in the neighborhood (we didn't.) Some have reviewed about the escalator/elevators to get into the property - it's really quite simple after the first try and they're programmed well so you don't have to wait long at all. I also appreciated having the Moxy lobby available as well to hang out in - very different vibe but both are excellent! Would definitely book again next time I'm in Seoul.

Amazing service from Guest Services Manager, Miss Soyi Lee— at my flawless check-in she conversed with me fluently in three different languages and made feel right at home, as she was from my same Alma Mater University. She was professional, yet empathetic to my needs as a traveler and made every means possible for us to celebrate NYE in Seoul, although the tragedy of Jeju Airlines created a somber ambiance in Myeongdong, her warm welcome and small gestures made it special nonetheless. Thank you so much Soyi for going out of the way for us~ that truly made my second stay more special. Also, a big thanks to James Lee, GM— his entire Team (including Bell Desk / Concierge at street level) … Khan bell desk and another gentleman with a long first English name ( I forgot) provided excellent service and care to assist with keeping our luggage’s, calling taxis~ truly 5-star at this gem of a hotel. James Lee always emails guest afterwards which I also appreciated and the second stay with wine gift was an elegant touch, as everything was closed for countdown. As a Higher level Bonvoy Member, I appreciated these fine team members in providing a first-class service and to James for his Management. Cheers to you!
