Le Moque-Tortue

This is one of the most unique and cool looking restaurants I’ve ever been too. We loved the decor and the music. The service was great and fast as well. Our group really enjoyed the seafood chowder and the seafood pasta. The rice was bland, completely unseasoned. The vegan Greek wrap was just okay, I could easily make it at home. I would love to see more vegan options like pastas or curries, something more substantial than just a wrap, burrito, salad and soup. Would come again and try something else, more so for the ambiance than the food itself.

This place is a hidden gem! The decor is so quirky and cute! The food is absolutely delicious. The croquille st jacques is a must, as well as the creme brulee. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful.

Very unique family run restaurant. Loaded with lots of nostalgia/games. The food was outstanding with lots of flavor. I really enjoyed the maple-curry stir fry and the side of macaroons was a nice touch. Will definitely come back when we are back in the Shediac area.

Had an excellent lunch on the patio on a Friday at 2pm. We were seated quickly, our drinks were brought out quick and our food arrived shortly after we ordered. Food was great and we would for sure come back again to try more menu items. We popped inside to see the interior and it was so fun and quirky. Don’t miss having a look if you are eating on the patio.

OMG! This place is amazing. The first thing you notice is the decor and it’s so creative. I could spend so much time just walking through looking at EVERYTHING 💖 The food is also very good and the service was super friendly and quick! If you stay for the games, you’ll have one of the larger selections I’ve seen! SO MANY GAMES! And in the atmosphere of that place, you just get so silly - the absurdity is infectious.

What a wonderful place! We have travelled widely and this food was quite exceptional & highly recommended. The service from Romain was also wonderful, informative & friendly. Do not miss going upstairs where the 'Alice in Wonderland' them downstairs goes ballistic. Most importantly the CRAB CAKES are to die for!

We had the best experience here. Brought friends from out of province and after hearing so many amazing things about it, it was chosen for their send off meal. Menu is seafood heavy, as you'd expect from a location so close to water. Don't worry if you aren't a fan of seafood, as they do have options as well. I'm not a seafood fan, so I'll never be reviewing it! They had live music on the patio, and a quiet atmosphere inside. The staff were so great and explained dishes in a detailed way that made you know which one you'd prefer. We loved the dining room as we got to explore all the board game options even if we didn't have a chance to play. Overall, I'll be back again, there was so much more to check out and I plan to stay for a boardgame night as well.

Fun, family friendly place. The food was excellent. I had a pasta dish and my wife had a curry dish. Lots of board games to play with. Lots of items on display. I found an old puzzle there from 40 years ago. Highly recommend it.

Ruined a very special event! I called on September 4th to make a reservation for 4 people for the evening of Saturday September 28th. When calling I explained that we would be celebrating my wifes 30th birthday and that our plan for the evening was to spend our time there. I specifically asked for the room at the top of the stairs, first one in the right. We were told absolutely and that they were looking forward to having us. I of course confirmed my reservation the day before when they sent the reminder text message. When we get there I mention our name and mention that we reserved the room upstairs and then the nightmare begins. We over hear that our room has been given to a walk in group of 6 people. She then says we'll I can get you a table for two by the window what???? Our reservation is for 4 and we gave you 24 days notice! Of course I try to explain this but the waitress just starts talking about how we can't reserve rooms unless we pay extra... what??? I can't even get a word in. So here's this resturants logic: call and ask for a room with 24 days notice no room and/or you need to pay, walk in without a reservation with a group of 6 get put in a room. Were so disappointed and this policy is absolutely unacceptable. Your nickle and dimming philosophy is a guaranteed way to alienate your repeat customers. What kind of resturant says yes to a group of 6 walk ins without a reservation on a Saturday night over their commitment to a reservation made over 24 days ago? Shame on me for trusting you guys with my favorite persons thirtieth birthday! To think I would of thought of you guys and trusted that this would be a good spot for anything makes me feel so stupid. Here's my advice: Drop your pathetic room reservation fee. If someone calls you and explaines their desire to have a special night with you and wants to reserve a room, make it happen! Especially when you confirm that. If you want to be the place that prioritizes walk ins on a Saturday night instead of reservations just put in a drive through so your true collors are obvious

Went here for lunch passing through to PEI. Was sat super quick on the patio, which was excellent vibes (very Alice in Wonderland). I had the seafood chowder and my partner had the lobster mac and cheese. Both dishes were pretty good but not mind blowing, really just a cool spot for the atmosphere while passing through. Also seemed like lots of locals there.

My friend and I ate here on the 7th of July for supper. Aside from the fantastic ambiance of the place, coupled with live music and great food, the service is just unacceptable. After taking our order for drinks and food, we waited for an hour before we had to flag a staff down to ask why other customers that came after us got their food already but not us. After taking our order, it took another 25 minutes before our food came. No apologies were given to us and even messed up our bills. Great place, good eats...horrible service. Hope this gets improved.

I just made a reservation for tonight because we are coming from another country and people told us this place is wonderful. We searched up in google and it said the kitchen was close, but it doesn't say anywhere that kitchen closes at 8pm. However, the lady that was there was kind of mean and when I asked her about where it says that the kitchen closes at 8, she said it doesn't say but it's like that. Come on, that is not an answer. You need to be really careful how to advertise your schedule for kitchen and restaurant. It wasnt fair and not with good vibe. Sorry but a huge miss for you guys. I hope this message improves your schedule online and in google. And make your staff at least be more friendly and nice.

This is a cute little spot with lots of board games to play $5.00 cost. Unfortunately the food is terrible. I had the chicken pasta with a basalmic sauce which was inedible. #1 the flavour was just plain bad #2 the chicken was dry and overcooked #3 the vegetables were over cooked. The waitress did not return to the table to see how the meals were. Later, When I told her is was not good (as she was clearing my full plate) her response was "well I guess that flavour doesn't suit you". Most restaurants will remove the price of the meal but not this one. My husbands meal (Chowder and Mac and cheese) were also Sub par. My mother had a lobster roll which she said was very tasty

This restaurant is an old two story home and each room houses a huge collection of oddities everywhere to keep your senses busy. The ambiance is amazing. They have a wonderful outdoor patio. Service was excellent and timely. Even though quite busy they were able to accommodate us and our service dog.  The food was exceptional and the serving sizes were above average. The Hummus platter was amazing. The food was nice and hot, unlike the luke warm food that one normally gets served nowadays. The Lobster Quesadillas was a full platter of food with a generous amount of lobster meat. The Chicken Fricot made in-house with homemade dumplings was sooo good.  The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the  food quality and proportions. This is worthy of many repeat visits for us!

Every year we spend a week visiting family in Shediac, and every year we like to check out what new businesses have opened in the area. This year we had the pleasure of visiting Le Moque-Tortue, that opened last fall. Being game people, we got excited at the idea of a game cafe, popular in Montreal where we live. Well if the idea of a game was good, well the food and drink is even better! Between four adults (and a preschooler who sampled from everyone) we were able to taste different dishes. Each was delicious! I had the lobster quesadilla, and it would so good! And big! The preschooler ate several pieces and I was still super satisfied. We shared two brownies for dessert, and that was more than enough (and the preschooler easily ate half of one himself alone). They've got a nice selection of local beers on tap too. The only real downside is that the place is popular and fairly small. Expect to wait on a weekend evening. The size is a plus though, it's small enough that one doesn't feel lost in the crowd, and service is personal.

Amazing little gem! Service was outstanding, food will leave you wanting more. I would recommend you stop in and stay awhile- the drinks are Delish and its a perfect date night dinner:)

Food was excellent but the wait times are unreal. Expect to spend at least 90 -120 minutes from the time you sit until the time you leave. Good otherwise, maybe it's just due to the pandemic??

Excellent atmosphere, great food and friendly service. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
