Lobster Rolls and Ancient Beaches on Canada’s Acadian Coast | Condé Nast Traveler

"At Le Moque-Tortue, a restaurant in the town of Shediac, where I sit beneath playing cards strung from the ceiling, surrounded by as many paused clocks, devouring the most perfect lobster roll. Sébastien Després, owner of the Carroll-esque bistro, is an anthropologist and big-time Alice aficionado. At Le Moque-Tortue, he's all in on the Wonderland theme."

Went here for dinner. Great place. It mentions games so we weren't sure what to expect. It's a bistro for food but for an extra $10.00 you can p lay a game. They have 1700 different games to choose from. My math may be a bit off but this is a great place with good fresh food. I had the lobster roll and my husband had the lobster quesadilla. They were both delicious. Glad we stopped here.

What a hidden gem we stumbled upon over flip burger fest 2025 promos. If it wasn’t for this and their submission for the Cuban Royale version of mouth watering beef and pork then I not my friend would ever of known this place existed. Luckily we arrived and when asked if we had a reservation we said no and got in meanwhile it was quick to realize how lucky we were for a Lage Saturday morning . Walk d in confused feeling we were mistaken and entered wrong doors. Immediately greeted by warmth and cozy with smells reminiscent of grandmas house and from there it only got better ,9’ kt complaint was the bbq sauce was i ok we bearing and to much for the actual burger itself because of the sauce but English speaking not French at all and it being definitely French has zero impact on my choice to return there, we left just in complete aaw and 100 % satisfied What a cool place like hands down a must try. Montreal vibe meets small town rapport

The service was amazing. We were hosted by a very nice lady. As for the food, I highly recommend this place for their lobster roll. It’s a little small, but the taste is probably one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had during my East Coast trip. The slightly sweet mayonnaise made it so light and tasty! However, I tried the Acadian meat pie (warning if you’ve never had it!!!). I’d never had it before, so I wanted to give it a try. Let me tell you, the meat was so dry—pretty much like a meat floss pie—it felt like eating sand. I had to finish it with two glasses of water! The flavor was good, but oh man, that texture is just not something I’ll enjoy. So take my warning before you order!

I recently dined at Le Moque-Tortue, and I am thoroughly impressed! The food was absolutely amazing – each dish was crafted with such attention to flavor and detail. From the presentation to the taste, everything was exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a wonderful meal. I can't recommend Le Moque-Tortue enough for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

We were here for our Anniversary dinner. The menu is diverse but reflective of the Acadian culture and seafood focus of the area. The food was delicious. Amazing Caesar Salad. Generous lobster in the club and delicious desserts. A great selection of cocktails, craft beer, and non alcoholic options. The restaurant has an"Alice in Wonderland" theme and has a huge selection of board games. We will definitely be back.

Love this place, food is good, atmosphere is fantastic and fun, love the games. Service is good although occasionally slow to get checked on but it's so nice being there it was not a big drawback for me.

This is such a cool little spot. We had the lobster mango wrap, the lobster quesadilla, and the lobster roll. (I think we had a theme) The restaurant was super neat, with each room having its own theme, both upstairs and down. It's a complete maximalist heaven. I'm excited to check this spot out again in the future.
