Moulin De Connelles (Connelles, Normandy) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Downstream from Paris on the banks of the Seine, a centuries-old water mill is the charming setting for the boutique hotel Moulin de Connelles. This landmark was expanded and updated over the years — the mill was dismantled and the building transformed into a half-timbered manor house in the early 1900s — but the place still oozes period charm, with Baccarat crystal chandeliers illuminating the oak-paneled dining room, champagne served on riverfront terraces, and wooden boats floating idly by. Rooms are elegant and quaint, some with sloping ceilings and alcove balconies, others with reading nooks and Jacuzzis, and all furnished with antiques. The outdoor pool and gardens are scenic spots to relax and sip apéritifs after rowing over to the hotel’s private island." - Tablet Hotels

An absolutely divine spot on the Seine, tucked away and very tranquil and romantic. We just loved our stay. You can take a little rowing boat, have a swim, and the surrounding areas are sweet. A beautiful dining room overlooking the river and good food. Very helpful and charming lady on reception.

I fell in love with this place and with Karin 💚(an incredible woman who creates such a lovely atmosphere for guests). Now this is my favorite hotel in France. We usually stay in different hotels for only 1 night on short trips , but here we wanted to stay for a long time. We took the room for another night, then came back for one more night on the way back. From any point there is such a view that you want to take a canvas, brushes and paint everything. I am sure that Monet has a painting of this place, it is just lost or in a private collection. He couldn’t missed this.

If you are on a quest for quiet and tranquility this will be the place. Nestled on a quiet road ( if you blink you miss it ) this wonderful place will offer you the romance and privacy you are looking for with a menu to die for. I did not stay here ( I stayed next door ) however I did visit on multiple occasions over my two-week trip for unforgettable dinners, relaxation by the fireplace, and great conversations with the patron. The river goes through it and the history of the place is worth the visit. The food and the wine are the best you will experience ( better than Aspen or Bever Creek Colorado ). It is truly an experience you must take advantage of when in Normandy.

We have stayed here before maybe 10 years earlier. We have the warmest memories of this place and our visit now lived up to past experience. Most beautiful hotel we've stayed in and the proprietor and staff welcoming, excellent. Restaurant is great as well. For the setting, quality of restaurant, and everything else I think an excellent value, We want to return next year. Stayed 3 days this time, maybe a little longer next. Good access Rouen, Giverny, etc.

If you need to be in touch with your loved ones, this is a nice place to retreat. This place helps you get off since access is not easy. Please be sure to book your lunch and dinner at the restaurant since kitchen has its strict operation schedules. Overall, this is a quiet, nice and friendly place to retreat. The receptionist very kind. He made good effort to communicate. Speaks english, spanish and some deutsch, he said.

Over the past two + decades we've enjoyed scores of privately run “hotel restaurants” throughout France. The combination of tranquil grounds, a mansion with architectural character, and a very friendly and engaging Proprietaire, Madame Karine Petiteau, make this a very special place — and one to which we hope to return. During out two night stay, and especially at dinner (served on the lovely enclosed balcony over a spar of the river), it became apparent that this is a local venue for heartwarming anniversary and multi-generational family events. Our suite, “Olive,” was renovated very nicely just last year with traditional wall fabrics — what a fine touch (literally). The river enters under the room’s balcony, and exits under its siting room. I’ll attach some pictures because I think those here on TA and even on the hotel website don’t quite do the room justice. Even the pics don’t fully capture it, however. Also note: The dining (the chef is Madame Petiteau’s husband) was very good over our two dinners and two breakfasts — and indeed we stayed for lunch on the day we checked out. I'll also attach pictures of some plates, and the dinning terrace. PS: And if you visit Giverny from here, we recommend taking the D1 — it was a beautiful drive. I'll attach one picture of that "entrance" Giverny.

A truly magical place with kind and charming staff. The beautiful surrounding villages are worth exploring and there are wonderful woodland walks nearby. This magical hotel was lovely to return to.
