Le Mouton Noir

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Le Mouton Noir, Verbier Le Mouton Noir is a lively and welcoming spot in Verbier, perfect for a relaxed meal after a day on the slopes or in town. The atmosphere is fun and casual, with friendly service that keeps things moving even when it’s busy. The standout dish for me was the beef burger — juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. It’s hearty, satisfying, and exactly what you want in a mountain restaurant. Definitely a must-order. On the other hand, the rösti with salmon was a bit disappointing. While the rösti itself was decent, the overall combination lacked balance and depth of flavour, making it less memorable compared to other items on the menu. Overall, Le Mouton Noir is a solid choice in Verbier with some great comfort food highlights. Stick to the burger and you’ll have a very enjoyable meal.

Normally the food is great, but this time we were very disappointed with the main courses. The risotto is basically rice cooked in cream, with an overpowering taste of garlic and some overcooked vegetables served on top, at the cost of €33. The slow cooked poultry is a few pieces of chicken breast and the same overcooked vegetables; the meat was good, but at €56 it is way overpriced. The steak was good. The oeuf parfait also. The cauliflower soup OK. The only thing making up for the disappointment is the service which is good.

Beautiful views from the outdoor balcony area. Only stopped here for a hot chocolate and a snack. At the self service section. Fab service. Was coming here if only for the view!

During our 8 days of snowboarding in Verbier, this is the place we visited on the slopes the most often. It has a good selection of food and drinks, amazing views (right next to paragliding station) and is pretty spacious. The food is ok, as you would suspect in such a food court, nothing fancy, but quite tasty. And a huge plus for the Wi-Fi, it's the only place on these slopes that has it (though when heavily crowded, it's pretty useless, but still).

This is a great self serve restaurant perched on the edge of the valley looking over it. It is right when you come off the main lift from Verbier. As I said, it is self serve and there is hot and cold food available as well as snacks too. Seating is anywhere you like and I recommend the main balcony. Fantastic to say the least.

We had a late lunch for 4 people in the upstairs restaurant at Le Mouton Noir and loved it. A warm welcome from the manager and great service from the team. The food & drinks were delicious and we finished the meal off with some nice Baileys coffees before getting the last gondola back down to Verbier.

We were a group of approx 70 with a last minute booking. Michel and the team were very kind and flexible with us with last minute arrivals and ensuring we had a good experience with large tables on the terrace. Due to the end of the season we had a limited menu with charcuterie, seared tuna salad starters followed by rösti, burgers and entrecote; but all was delicious. The team were very patient with us and the food came out quickly too. We will be sure to come again next season for the next company ride day!

Awesome place. Very easy to access from the bubble (cable car) if you have friends joining who do not ski there. Great food. Lovely atmosphere. Fantastic service. Fabulous views 😎

It's an amazing location to grab an inexpensive lunch in the heart of the Verbier skiing station that I've never missed an opportunity to visit when skiing. Let's make things clear. You can find better food in skiing stations, but it will be 4 to 5 times the price of a meal you would get here. You can find cheaper food as well, but it likely would be a dried-out sandwich or an energy bar. This is the only place to my knowledge that offers a proper meal (whole made-on-the-spot pizza, Lasagna, half-chicken) for a price that's closer to 15 CHF than to 20 CHF. The quality is pretty darn good - all the food is cooked on the spot, and while it's not quite high gastronomy and you are in a self-service, the food is delicious, well-balanced nutritionally and the restaurant provides an abundance of choice. For those unsatisfied with the choice at the main service, there are as well crepe station - a place where crepes are prepared right in front of you with a selection of fresh ingredients you choose yourself. The sitting area is large, with both inside and outside section, both giving onto a breathtaking panorama of Alps and with abundant seating even for large groups. Finally, For the desert and coffee, they have a separate café; with very decent coffee and very decent deserts - not something I've ever been disappointed with.
