I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Le Nord restaurant that left a sour taste despite an otherwise pleasant evening. As always, the servers were friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was lovely—everything you’d expect from this cosy restaurant. However, our visit was marred by the unprofessional and rude behaviour of the manager.
While we were informed ahead of time that our table needed to be vacated by a certain time to accommodate other reservations, the manager’s handling of this request was completely out of line. As we were finishing our drinks, the manager aggressively approached our table, slammed down the bill without any word of courtesy, and then proceeded to turn over the "RESERVED" sign on our table in an almost theatrical fashion. It was clear from their tone and actions that they were rushing us out, but there was no need for the hostility. We felt completely disrespected in a place where we almost always have an enjoyable post-work gathering.
The servers, on the other hand, were nothing short of fantastic—attentive, warm, and professional. It's a shame that their hard work was overshadowed by the manager's poor handling of the situation. This kind of behavior not only reflects badly on the manager but also on the restaurant as a whole.
While I understand the need for turnover, there’s a right way to handle these situations, and the manager's approach was anything but courteous. It’s a shame, because Le Nord could have been a place I’d recommend, but after this experience, I can’t say I’ll be returning anytime soon.
