Charging $13 for a $1 waffles (individually wrapped found in most of the Whole Foods) with 1 strawberry and 3-4 blueberries, not ok

Very yummy meal! Everything tasted delicious and very fresh. Decent prices, even though portions are not huge they are very filling. Loved the lemonade. Quick service. Good vegan/vegetarian options. I’ll even tell you a secret—we ate right before closing and the person working the bakery was so kind as to give everyone I was dining with a free pastry! Would certainly eat here again.

The cafes feature handmade, organic bread and a menu that includes pastries, eggs, tartines, soups, salads, and desserts. They cater to various dietary preferences with numerous vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Generally praise the quality of the food and the cozy, rustic ambiance. Everything about our lunch was perfect. I have never seen my daughter (vegetarian) so excited about a menu. Thank you for a great dining experience!

Google
$11 for 1 egg and 1/4 of an avocado on a tiny bun. Plus they serve you coffee in a bowl without a handle. I have to wonder how a place like this can stay open.

Yeshaswini

Google
The place is okay. For the kind of food, its definetly not worth the price. The food is kinda bland. We were extremely hungry when we went there and were disappointed with the food. The crispy quinoa cake was not bad though but definetly needed more flavour. Definetly regretted ordering the avocado tomato omelette, it was extremely bland. The carrot cake was okay. The ambience is decent and staff are friendly and courteous but definitely not worth the price even if it's a 'high end neighborhood'.

Google
I went to this location for the first time and had breakfast. The service from Sean was excellent and the food was delicious. For some reason a couple of side dishes came out well before the main meal but overall it was not that big of a deal. I have never experienced that quite like that before. The experience and the ambiance were very nice and I plan on returning again.

Google
New Canaan Le pain Quotidien, worst experience ever. I used to be habitual client there for a year and I order always a Belgian moka which they always bring it hot. Today a new waitress (the rotation of staff is insane) brought a cold beverage and when I explained that it should be hot she said I was wrong, there was other personnel there but nobody help me. Last week we we also ate a salad and there was a piece of plastic on it, they apollogized and offered a croissant for the error. We told them they need to be careful that’s all.

Yelp
Excellent service the pan au chocolat was very authentic tasting and divine the service was top tier specifically our server Tanner who made us feel like we were old friends in a French bakery thank you!!!! Will be returning!!! Also the ambiance was luxe

King K.

Yelp
This time was exceptional. Went for an early morning, breakfast with the wife on a snow day. Greeted quickly, got our food quickly, which was fantastic and freshly made. Got some pastries for dessert and even took some on the road. So through and through. I am sure the hazelnut crookie or chocolate chip crookie
google avatar

Chakki L.

Yelp
The first time we only had pastries and they were good. We returned to try something more substantial. We should've stuck to pastries. My husband ordered skillet eggs with bacon. $15:00 for two eggs with barely any bacon tossed on top of the over cooked eggs. You had to hunt for the bacon. Overpriced and underwhelming would be an understatement!!! I ordered the veggie flatbread. Clearly they forgot the veggies!!! Coffee arrived cold! Soup, when it finally arrived (we had to ask for it twice) was tasteless and also cold. Very disappointing. We will not return.
google avatar

Avery D.

Yelp
Got the French cream donut and was not super impressed. The donut was stale. We went at the end of the day so it had probably been sitting out all day. The cream was tasty but overall wasn't amazed. They were also giving out free mini muffins since it was the end of the day. Blueberry and pumpkin. They also were kind of stale and not amazing. I'd recommend getting pastries in the morning. Nice restaurant and good vibes inside. Nice worker as well.

Yelp
Tasty (but expensive) chain restaurant with small portions. I did enjoy the ham croissant, but it is definitely not for those looking for a big breakfast. The dressing on the side salad was delicious, but again small. The coffee comes in what looks like a soup bowl and is hard to handle, especially when hot. I don't like to comment or review based on service but they were definitely short staffed on the day I went because it seemed like one woman was working every table and it took about 20mins just to get coffee.

Lauren S.

Yelp
I had a great breakfast with my family! Thank you to the awesome managers who brought our food out and recommended the new fall desserts :) if you visit make sure to get the pecan tart and peppermint crookie!

Paul K.

Yelp
Waited close to a hour before our order was taken. Avoid this place. Staff unresponsive.

Yelp
Many accolades go out to General Manager, Darien Jensen and his wait staff at the Le Pain Quotidien in New Canaan, CT, at 81 Elm St. I worked with Darien, the corporate Marketing Department and his staff in planning and executing a surprise 90th Birthday Brunch Celebration for my 90 year old Aunt and Uncle of New Canaan. We were a group of 20 relatives and friends from Connecticut, New York, Florida and as far away as the West Coast who have not seen each other in many years. What a joy and surprise for my Aunt and Uncle when they entered the restaurant to see so many dear family members and friends. There was great communication between Darien and myself over several months of planning the many details of this event. Details such as location and table set up; the baskets of the absolutely delicious muffins and pastries to start off the group; the selections of brunch items for the group and many other details. The marketing department created a menu of my chosen selections, headed and entitled with my celebrations theme and printed 20 up just for us! Extra attention from the wait staff was given from start to finish. All my guests were very pleased and happy with the menu choices and the quality and amount of the food. And I was very excited about the total cost of this delicious brunch which was very reasonable for 20 participants. I researched several other New Canaan restaurants: many cost much more per person, had minimums or were inflexible. I am so very happy that I selected Le Pain Quotidian for this birthday surprise for my aunt and uncle. After all, reaching 90 years of age is a definite reason to celebrate !

Yelp
I love this place! I wish it was open for dinner! Food is scrumptious! I wish it was in Westport s it would be closer to me!

Yelp
Anyone unfamiliar may know this is a chain bakery and cafe. I came with my friend to have a quick breakfast. The indoor dining area is closed due to covid and they have quite a few outdoor seating. I ordered the avocado sandwich but I give it 3 stars because the bread was drenched in olive oil. I like olive oil but it was too much. Maybe it was an off day. Their baked goods are not too bad if you are in a rush.
google avatar

Lorgine M.

Yelp
We've been massive fans of their Belgian Waffles for years! & idk what it is about their cappuccinos in those huge mug bowls, but they always hit differently (in a great way!) The customer service is also great - they're always pleasant & welcoming. LPQ is definitely a great go-to for brunch!

S M.

Yelp
Just came from the worst experience here. One hour and 20 minutes to order and be served. Totally ignored by waiters passing by. Finally was told there was only one cook in the kitchen. Just horrible.

Yelp

Yelp
Great spot in Tony New Canaan for a quick breakfast or lunch. Lots of healthy and tasty options. While service is not the most friendly, (and I get it when you are a young servers interacting with mostly entitled New Canaan Karen's who snap in their faces and flip oat when their oat latte is not the right temperature) the space is clean, comfortable and inviting.

Yelp
Quite the surprise, reminded me of European coffee houses. But expensive. Service is great
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Best breakfast this side of the pond!!! The coffee is Belgian style and spectacular. The scones and pain du chocolat are spectacular. The baked goods truly are European. We had two egg dishes. The goat cheese and veggie omelette with pesto. Truly one of the best breakfast items I have ever tasted. The other was a special frittata which was good but not nearly as good as the omelette. The ambiance feels European too. GO HERE NOW!!!!

Yelp
I was visiting from Vermont and asked for a recommendation to have a nice breakfast ,other than a diner, near Wilton, Ct. This was recommended. I knew, being in New Canaan, it would be pricey but I was entertaining a friend I hadn't seen in a very long time and was fine with that. First, the place was soooooo noisy. I knew we should have probably turned around and walked right out but we stayed. Having a conversation was next to impossible. I ordered a cup of hot chocolate. It came in a soup bowl cup. It was very good but because it was in such a big bowl, it cooled down almost immediately. It was not hot chocolate, not even warm chocolate! My husband and friend ordered coffee which came in a cute little, let me underline little, carafe. Like my "hot chocolate " if you didn't drink it right away, it cooled almost immediately. In a diner, they come around and top off the coffee in order to keep it warm. We ordered omelettes. I ordered the avocado and tomato omelette. It comes with a little side salad. The omelette was cold, I'm not talking about lukewarm, I'm talking cold. The salad had no dressing. The bread that was served with it was excellent. As we were walking out, I checked out the pastries which looked very good. By the way, a cup of coffee is $4.50. A simple breakfast for three was $70 with tip. I will not be back to Pain Quotidien any time soon.

Yelp
My favorite is the basket of mixed breads. Delicious! Served with butter on the side. Then I had the avocado toasts which are perfect for either breakfast or lunch. Love it.

Catherine F.

Yelp
Love to have my lattes there. The avocado & egg on brioche was just ok , the cobb salad was delicious. The service has been great the few times I stayed to eat there . Friendly and fast
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
I had never really noticed this on Elm Street until a few months ago. The pastries are to die for. The croissant filled with chocolate is one of the best pastries in my Opinion. The muffins are just ok. They are very dense and don't have too much flavor. They offer a great selection on the menu but it is a little pricey. When I first walked in, a young woman named Kristen helped me out. She was very friendly and gave me some great suggestions on coffee and treats. I am probably the most indecisive person ever so her help was much appreciated. She suggested one of their lattes which was probably the best latte I had ever had. I've had service there with other employees but I would say that she is the most friendly behind the counter .

Yelp
Love this place except for two things: 1) The wait staff - there is a lot of waiting around and not much urgency. It seems understaffed and no one really seems to care. Also, the waitresses don't seem particularly happy at all. 2) The prices - I normally get the avocado toast. This costs $12! To be fair, it tastes extremely good, but I don't know if the taste justifies $12.

Justin C.

Yelp
It is a great chain, with this location being particularly useful. Plenty of spaces to sit, lots of great tables to work at and eat with your waffle and drink your coffee. The food is above average for your run of the mill chain. So if you are looking for a nice place to spend a couple Horus and fill up on some food - this is your jam!

Conrad M.

Yelp
They don't know how to make sandwiches on their menu. The service was very poor today. 1) my grandma ordered a glass of water it was not brought out 2) I ordered a large drink, my sister ordered a small and they gave me the small and her the large 3) my mother ordered the prosciutto egg sandwich, she received 1 single piece of prosciutto on a roll. So they brought it back and then brought out a sandwich that just wasnt on the menu. It was the prosciutto sandwich with avacado and cheddar. 2 things it didnt say it had. And mother said no cheese because she is allergic. So they took it back and brought out the wrong sandwich AGAIN. It was the "cheddar and avacado" sandwich on their menu without the cheddar. 4) my sister ordered the turkey blt with horseradish, it just didn't have the horseradish and was very dry. When she asked for it to be brought out it took about 10 minutes. I'm just not sure how one can manage to mess up this badly.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
We came for a quick bite but everything was slow. The grain bowl was very tasty and my daughter liked the salmon plate. But my other daughter didn't care for the Avocado toast and my wife was not impressed by the prosciutto sandwich. Coffee and Belgian hot chocolate was good. The waitperson did warn us the kitchen was backed up. So a mixed experience.

Yelp
Overall thought - my third time coming and it gets better and better. It's Worth a detour from your route to go eat! Ambiance - Le Pain has a very French country kitchen feel to it. High ceilings in some areas exposed beams and the light wood tables crests the perfect feel for what your about to receive. Service - the service is just excellent. Constantly being waited on by several servers. They all have been very nice and very knowledgeable of the menu. Food - AMAZING! If you've read my past reviews you'll know I don't throw out that word very often. So far I haven't had anything that hasn't utterly blown my taste buds away. This last visit I had the avocado toast with smoked salmon on top....wow! The depth of flavors that overwhelmed my mouth was wonderful. The spiced Apple cider is like nothing I've had before. I could go on and on about the different dishes I've had here but just recommend you try it yourself.
google avatar

Lauren C.

Yelp
Le Pain, you are near my work, which makes you a viable option for work lunches, but let me tell you why I never go here. 1) I like that you make my sandwich fresh, but I don't want to wait 30 minutes for a takeout order of one sandwich that... 2) I paid $13 for and got two slices of turkey and the smallest bit of avocado smeared on with nothing else! I ate half of this sandwich atrocity, brought it home (for some reason) and my boyfriend wouldn't even eat it (he eats everything) because it looked so bad. I like the ambiance here. I definitely agree with other Yelpers that the interior is spacious, beautiful and has a distinctly Eurpoean feel. But, in the words of Eric "telling me about the delicious crackers doesn't put them in my stomach, now does it Carl?" Well, a cool European vibe doesn't put delicious food in my stomach, now does it Le Pain?
google avatar

Brendan M.

Yelp
Much improved! I had a much better experience on my last visit. Definitely going to return again. Everything was improved from our last trip. Also, the Ham n Gruyere omelette is fantastic with salad dressing not included!
google avatar

Yelp
Overpriced food, slow service, understaffed All. The. Time. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but when I'm paying $6 for a tiny breakfast sandwich that I waited 30 min for that has somewhat better quality than a bacon egg McMuffin, it's just not worth it. Also not worth it is if you add an organic soft boiled egg to anything at $3. I can buy a dozen of organic eggs at the store for $3.99. They should just do away with dining-in and seat yourself option. Everyone should just order at the cashier and then seat themselves. It takes too long especially on Sundays to have someone take your simple order after you've received your menu. It takes equally as long to get ketchup. Don't even ask for it. Bring it yourself or you'll have to wait 15 min for it after asking 2 waiters, the cashier, and then the stressed out manager who finally finds it hidden in the back and it's unopened because no one knew where it was to begin with. Then food is cold. When you go to pay the bill, USE CASH. EXACT CHANGE. It will take at least 10 min to get it back or the waiter thinks you just gave him/her a $14 tip for your $6 breakfast sandwich. Don't bother with a card. That takes just as long. I came in with my mom for a quick bite to eat and the whole breakfast took 45 minutes for the 2 breakfast sandwiches and ketchup. I have been here by myself and ordered tartines and quiches. So if you order those items, expect a longer wait. I should have remembered how long everything takes and eaten somewhere else on Elm if we wanted something quick to eat. I have been here since on Sundays which is peak brunch time all morning/afternoon but they are routinely understaffed on Sundays. This needs to change. A couple of stars because the staff is actually pleasant and the manager is trying to make it work.

Yelp
a good european styly bakery chain that is popping up all over the place. I have been to a few of these in NYC and they are A-OK, and predictable quality - could be better maybe. got some of their bread this time and it was good, even though it was late in the day.. a bit pricey, but its new canaan. i havent eaten a meal in here yet, but the place looks nice and they have some good sounding meals on the menu. in NYC these places are always packed.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Waitress was really nice and on the ball. Foods a little pricey but it's worth it because of the quality it is. Everything's organic and fresh so you pay for what you get.
google avatar

Meaghan K.

Yelp
I almost walked out of this place.. Came in alone for a quick lunch and I asked if it seat myself etc as I had never been. I was told to seat myself and someone came over with a menu. There I sat for far too long before someone finally came over and took my order. The food was yummie. Had a BLT avocado salad however when i was done and ready for my check it was again a too long wait to get it. I don't live in the area so I doubt I'll be back but I hope they improve their service as the food and atmosphere was nice.
google avatar

Sandra H.

Yelp
I only come here once in a while but the service is always good. I love their turmeric latte and their chilli. I'm not a vegan but they have a lot of vegan options. But they also have this amazing waffle with berries that is the perfect splurge! I don't like it on the board because it can get messy but I just ask for a regular plate. As far as service goes, they are friendly. The servers are sweet and the managers always have a smile. If I lived closer I would be here more. Its a chain, but it has a really local feel. It's a nice place to have coffee and a sweet while catching up on work.
google avatar

Silvana G.

Yelp
We came all the way from New York City to go and have coffee and dessert. It was 10 minutes before closing and the cashier told us that we close in 10 minutes but since we were only having coffee and dessert we can sit down. Few minutes later the manager came and said in 5 minutes you need to pick up and leave. Do you really want to sit?? Obviously not! She clearly did not want our business nor did she care if we left. The worst part is that there were 4 tables full of people and one table just received their food as we entered the place. As we walked out all the people started at us with sympathy and said "sorry" meanwhile the manager did not even apologize for the inconvenience. I would never recommend this place to anyone because it is not welcoming and the service is extremely poor!

Yelp
Very cool place, food is absolutely delicious. Ambiance is delightful. Waitstaff is ok. Went there this morning, place was somewhat busy, only one waiter and a very good manager. Took a little while to take our order but food came very quick and was absolutely delicious. Had the chicken, turkey and pesto sandwich on an amazing piece of bread. My friend had the Kale and Cauliflower Frittata and it was absolutely delicious. Too notch food. Capuccino and Mocha are great too. Bathroom is a little dirty. Decorations are highly recommended. Overall it's a great place to go. *Everything is organic and lots of gluten free options, so great place for health freaks.

Yelp
What in the world happened? I'll start with the positive- very friendly worker. Had the avocado toast years ago and it was very good. Today there was hardly any avocado..the toast was either so over toasted or stale that it could have broken a tooth, the greens were not arugula as it used to be - they were wilted, almost rotten lettuce leaves and one piece of raw fennel. For almost 12 bucks it was inedible, and an almost 30 minute wait for take-out at 11:15am? :(
google avatar

Igor P.

Yelp
Not exaggerating; still sitting here since my first review, waiting for the check I asked for 20 minutes ago. On a Thursday afternoon. With barely any people here.
google avatar

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
The interior is attractive and has a comfortable, rustic feel. It does seem to get noisy and chaotic; however, when full. I attempted to get lunch here a couple of times in the past and was turned off by the noise. Breakfast was just okay. They serve a variety of omlettes and pastries, as well as a number of hot and iced coffee and tea drinks. The coffee was an acceptable-enough dark roast... nothing to write home about. I had a chocolate croissant (pan au chocolate), which was crisp and a fruit cup, which was also decent, but not worth the price. The berries and pineapple were tasty enough; however, the mango was very under-ripe (it was almost inedible) and there was a bit too much melon for my taste. One of my companions was pleased with his waffle, although found it a bit on the small side. The other was thoroughly unimpressed with her almond flute (hard crust bread with raisins and almonds). Having sampled it, I'd say its not really a good choice for breakfast--it might be better as part of a bread basket. I wouldn't come back here for breakfast; however, the lunch menu (sandwiches, quiches, etc.) did look good, albeit, a bit pricey.

Yelp
I love this place and their food, but the service in New Canaan the worst!!!! The stuff is rude, the waiter was lying to me the other day about Sangria. We were waiting for our drinks for 25 minutes, and after I saw people who came after us already got their food, and we still didn't even get the drinks, we left. The manager didn't even apologize for that:( Never come there again. I'd better drive to Stamford to enjoy their food.

Yelp
Le Pain is a chain restaurant (though it does not feel like one) focused on healthy cuisine and natural, organic ingredients. The quality is consistently good and, although many reviews deride the service, I have found it to be regularly attentive. WHAT TO ORDER: Pay attention to the specials, as they are often strong additions to the menu; Warm Belgian Waffle, any of the salads, particularly the warm goat cheese salad. WHAT TO SKIP: Cold coffee, mugs simply create too much surface area. The Tartines, which make up too much of the menu, are average.
google avatar

Ninette E.

Yelp
End of story: Yummy bread, great fruit tarts, nice environment for breakfast work meetings. I love the European cafe interior of this Belgian chain. It's a great place to have breakfast meetings. Food is fresh and organic. I enjoy the omelettes with green salad, and my kids love the Belgian waffles, which you can buy pre-packaged to take home. They have lovely berry tarts, which are great to bring over to a friend's house when you are invited over for dinner. Their spreads are also delicious and make nice gifts. We particularly like the brunette spread. As others have mentioned, service can be spotty, but I just get up and find the waitress if I need to. They are covering a lot of tables, and sometimes can get overwhelmed. A nice place to hang out and enjoy light European fare.
google avatar

Brittany G.

Yelp
Their Avocado Toast is simple but packed full of flavor. All of their breakfast & brunch items are extremely fresh, with certain items being served in specific days at specific times. This is a low key establishment with attentive and friendly staff. A highlight for me are the low calorie and organic items. There is something here for everyone. If you're in the area or looking for a low key brunch this is definitely a must see. Enjoy!

Yelp
Step-in through the front door and get instantly transported to Europe. Le Pain Quotidien makes me feel that way, every time I visit their New Canaan location. It is such a delightful place, with a very friendly, buzzing vibe. The communal tables at the heart of the restaurant make me feel like I am on a vacation, eating at a hidden gem, in Europe. Delicious smell of freshly baked bread hits my senses as I walk in and my belly instantly rumbles and notifies me that I "must" have some of it right away. :-) So I do! I love their Tartines! They have so many delicious varieties. My favorite is "Curry Chicken Salad Tartine". Light, fresh flavors. Perfect rustic bread with a wonderful crust, and a delicious Harissa Cranberry Sauce to complete the dish. "Smoked Salmon Tartine with Avacado and Dill" is another one of my favorites. The menu is pretty extensive with selections of soups, salads and breakfast items. It is a perfect spot for lunch or brunch. Many people stop by just to pick up some wonderful varieties of breads being baked fresh daily. If this restaurant/bakery was in my town - I would be there every single day - just for their breads. I kid you not! And to top it all off ... they have desserts! Take your pick: Mousse, Tarts, Cookies, Waffles, Macaroons, Meringue! I must admit, their wide array of dessert choices do make me a very happy foodie! This time I tried the Berry Tart. It was perfect little portion of heaven. As you know, Berry Tarts are available everywhere these days, but this one is truly special. The cream is so delicate in its flavor and lightly sweetened. It does not overwhelm the berries. Close your eyes...savor the bite and you will notice the difference. When I get tired of going to the Same Ol' Same Ol' type of places...I head over to Le Pain Quotidien. Be sure to check them out in New Canaan or Greenwich.

Yelp
I have been to a few these restaurants in Los Angeles California and it is wonderful to see the consistency of its service and great quality food in this restaurant also. All the restaurants have a wonderful decour which brings you back to times when I was in France enjoying a nice breakfast with well-made coffee. Staff here was incredibly helpful with a very sweet demeanor. The avocado toast was fresh and delicious and the split pea soup was exactly what I expected. It was a creamy and tasty without any lactose ingredients which made it a healthier choice regarding creamy soups. Now that I have been yelping for a while, I realize what a cool application this really is. Yelp has become my "go to" site whenever I go to new city around the world. I've also been able to communicate with yelp friends from around the world whenever I travel to a new city in order to get advice of where to eat and also for business information. Yelp is also a great way to keep track of your past experiences and it has become a digital record of where I have been and how much I enjoyed those locations. Yelp is also really great place to connect with people in your own town to see what is going on and what is fun and which restaurants are new and exciting. Try it, you may very well enjoy becoming a yelper also.

Yelp
I have been to the NYC LPQ locations, and though this LPQ is situated in a cute little brick house, the atmosphere inside is just not as cool. (decor being the same throughout the chain). Reason is that the other day we were at the LPQ in mid-town Manhattan on a Sat. early morning, so it was completely empty and the chamber music (specifically made for LPQ) was on. Here it was sort of crowded on a late morning brunch time slot in New Canaan and some kids makes it a bit noisy, almost like a regular family sit down place, not an ultra chic bkfast lounge. -- food: I just found out that you can buy their pre-made Belgian waffle (those with the sugar crystal baked in) for $3.50, so sitting here, with it slightly toasted + some berries + presentation you pay $4.95. - a "pot" of coffee (2 cups) is $3.40, and no free refill, that'd be $1.40 per pot refill. - we made the mistake of ordering the "bread basket" for $8.50, which comes with 8 slices of various bread and the spread. I believe other places offer bread for free and the spread is also freely available on the table. I wish I had just asked for a sampler for the free spread instead. over all, $20 for bkfast here and it's my own fault for ordering the breadbasket. Next time I will try their salad and order tartine instead.

Yelp
Ok, now two of my meetings today have cancelled after driving all the traffic-stopped way to New Canaan and I've got some time to kill. Do I really want to get back on the highway and go to Panera? Luckily I find Le Pain. Good coffee, served in real cups. Warm croissants. Free wifi and plenty of seating. Their concept of the big common table is also really cute. Though right now, there's only one brave soul sitting there.

Yelp
Terrible service. Waiter Spilled water all over my face. So cold. Waiter also called me a nerd(WTF?) Mean witch lady-so annoying. Food sucked. Overpriced. Will never go back. can't believe this passes FDA approvements.

Yelp
Great place for a healthy breakfast or lunch! We had a tartine, which is an open faced sandwich of sorts. The menu is creative, everything is healthy, and most items are organic. My tartine had tuna, white beans, hummus, diced tomatoes, and pesto. My wife had the mushroom and goat cheese omelet topped with pesto. The kids had oatmeal and a waffle. Portions are small and it's pricey (of course, it is New Canaan). Don't go if you are hungry, as you will probably still be hungry after you eat, unless you order two meals. My son ate his waffle in about four bites then I had to order him another. However, if you want a light lunch and want to feel good and healthy when you walk out the door, this is the place.

Yelp
Le pain quo In New Canaan has plummeted. Today, the bathrooms were dirty, the eggs were overcooked and cold, the hot drinks were cold, and the servers looked harried. Le pain quotidien: please ramp up your service on the weekend!

Yelp
We order Buche de Noel from Le Pain every Christmas. It's always our favorite part of the meal. But this year they decided to completely change it. Instead of delicious sponge cake and chocolate, we got a weird chocolate mousse with hazelnut base. It tasted so bad, that everyone left it on the plate. The chocolate tasted cheap, not dark and rich like before and the hazelnut was inedible. If that's not enough, they've been raising prices on this every year, and this year to order it, I had to go in because they now don't answer the phone when they are busy. I didn't call once or twice but repeatedly throughout the day. The manager was rude when I asked him about it and said they simply can't deal with answering the phones. So, a trip to order a fake Buch de Noel with a side order of attitude.
