Le Pain Quotidien Shiba Park

I went during lunchtime and realized they only serve breakfast until 11:00 am. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon. The ordering system felt a bit inconvenient since toppings had to be requested separately through the server because of the prefix mobile menu. The server was very kind and helped despite the language barrier, but this should have been easier. The avocado toast itself felt basic compared to other places. I also tried the lemon tart which was delicious, and the cappuccino was really good. I would like to come back in the morning to try their breakfast dishes.

A few days ago, we ordered takeout bread and it was delicious, so today we went for brunch, but we shouldn't have gone. The woman with pigtails seemed to be in the worst mood of the day, her expression grumpy the whole time. As soon as she realized we were foreigners, she didn't answer our questions and just walked in. Even though there were empty seats, she directed us to a table with strangers. When we ordered, she spoke rudely, using informal speech instead of formal speech. The morning menu offered juice and coffee, so when I asked if I could exchange the juice for coffee, she responded, "DeKki Nai!!" I was shocked. Was I a child? She was so rude. She even spoke rudely to me, knowing I understood Japanese. Furthermore, when we ordered two breakfast sets (including drinks) and added eggs and coffee, no one gave us a fork or knife. The Japanese couple sitting next to us even asked the waiter to help the foreigner. My entire trip to Japan was wonderful, and everyone was so friendly, but this was the first time I experienced such rudeness.

The nearest station is Daimon metro station. 15 mins to JR hamamatsu cho station. 1,180JPY for their popular bread set menu. There were 4 groups waiting ahead when I arrived at around 8:30AM on Saturday. It took only 10 mins to get in. When there is a line, make sure to write your name on the waiting list. You can take as many as pastes from the bar next to the water station. The service is OK. It was very pity that there was lady who was in charge of taking away dishes blocked customers way and took away dishes wuthout permission and no greeting to incoming customers.

I am glad to find a place like this where you can have your western food in Tokyo if you want. They even have Dutch Gouda cheese 😍 I’ll definitely come back soon! The atmosphere, staff and food was very good. I had the salmon salad and a big matcha latte. Also there was no waiting line as I came there around 14:00. They have plenty of vegetarian options too.

One of my favorite places to get breakfast. Even on a busy day, service was as quick as it could be. Have eaten on multiple occasions and staff have been polite and friendly, even with a bit of a language barrier (I speak a little Japanese, so we were able to meet each other in the middle as far as communication goes). Food is delicious - the Eggs Benedict is fantastic, as are the rice flour cream puffs and the croissants. Also love their matcha lattes - even the small size is a lot of tea!

We ordered plain a croissant and a chocolate croissant and lemon tart. The lemo tart was lemony yet easy to eat. It's the best lemon tart that I've had so far. Great job!

The familiarity of Le Pain Quotidien after traveling around Japan for 2 weeks was pure happiness! As usual great menu, with lots of even vegan options. We ordered avocado toast with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and a almond croissant on the side. Black coffee in a pot. Delicious! However the ambiance was noisy, room echoing without enough textiles to keep it down, the staff seemed stressed and somehow all the tables weren’t being used so the waiting time was longer than needed be (it felt like).

We found this place on our last day staying at Tokyo Prince hotel. Really lovely food if you want a break from Japanese food. I also would have preferred this over the hotel breakfast!!! It’s not cheap but worth it for beautiful fresh food. And of course the hot drinks served in a bowl just like in France. Matcha latte and hot chocolate were lush!
