I didn’t had a great experience there. The place looks amazing, I heard since Brazil, but, my personal experience was not so good. The food and drinks is served not on common plates, but bowls and cutting board. But, when you ask to switch for the normal, they bring to you do by yourself. It means that, the food becomes cold, because the situation you have to wait a longer and then the service, because they don’t care about you. About the food, if you go to someoneelse place that serve you a good croissant, will be exactly the same, like Gregorys Coffe. I would like to bring good experience, but, this one is so far the worst then.

We picked Le Pain Quotidien for breakfast on our fly-out day from DC during a business trip, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The place has a cozy, rustic charm - though with a touch more refinement, the rustic aesthetic could feel even more intentional. Still, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The breakfast options were impressive and well-received by our group of about 12. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with high-quality ingredients. I had teh Sunnyside Breakfast Bowl that featured a sunny-side-up egg omelet with pistachios, caramelized onions, grains, kale, and avocado, served with fresh bread and butter on the side. It was delicious and energizing - just what I needed before a flight. The only odd note was the hot beverages being served in handle-less cups - more East Asian in feel than French. Not a dealbreaker, just unexpected. Overall, a great spot for a wholesome, satisfying breakfast with a calm vibe.

Google
Cute pastry place with a lunch menu. Nice place for a quick stop. Chia seed bred available for gluten free but no pastries

Google
Cute little cafe and easily accessible. Love the ambiance. It can get pretty cramped around the takeout area, though. The pastries are lovely, but I wish they had more options on savory pastries.

Google
Server is lovely, the place looks amazing and it’s got a great atmosphere. Food is absolutely delicious and bordering on gourmet. Everything has really good sizing and the food gets to you pretty quick. Service in general is amazing, but our server was the nicest girl ever. 10/10 would absolutely come here again

My friend and I wanted a light lunch on a very hot day. I enjoyed my Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad ($19.25) with Lemonade Iced Tea ($4.50). My friend got the Yogurt Granola Parfait ($11) and was disappointed that there was so little yogurt. Close to the Dupont Circle Metro.

I went to many places of this place in different locations and when I was looking for a breakfast place, when I saw Le pain Quotidien, I came immediately. The location and interior decoration is very nice. The staff are very friendly and give good service. The food we ate was extremely fresh and delicious. If you are looking for a breakfast place in this region, I would say come without any doubt.

Google
☕️ Their coffee is not sweet, it is bitter, delicious and smooth. Their large is actually a large coffee, I did not get any real food however I saw different dishes I will definitely try next time. They have a fine dining atmosphere, polite staff and I highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
A nice spot for a quick morning pastry! I ordered a hot latte with a cheese danish, and the staff was super sweet, even offering to warm up the pastry for me, which was a nice touch. The danish was fresh and delicious! The only downside is that they only offer vanilla lattes, so if you prefer a sweeter hot latte, you'll have to rely on the graduated sugar at the coffee station to customize your drink. It's not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind if you like more variety in your latte options. Although we did carry out, we ended up sitting to enjoy our food before heading out. The café also offers seating with full service, which is a great option if you prefer to dine in. If you're looking for a quick stop for a nice latte and pastry, I'd definitely recommend Le Pain! It's a great place to grab something fresh before starting your day.

Yelp
The avocado toast was huge and delicious, the bread it's served on is very good. My iced latte was great as well, great drinks, food, and pastries overall! The dine-in service was quick and helpful as well.

Yelp
I liked how you could order at the counter or at a table and sit down for a meal. There were people there to work out of the space and to have a conversation. Our server was kind and our food did not take too long to get to us. The coffee was fine. I loved the lunch special to pick three or two things to try and that was available for breakfast too. I had the salad and the lentil soup. I wish the allergens were listed for the food items instead of just having a note at the bottom about cross contamination.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped for just a cup of coffee and pastry. The coffee was perfectly brewed and full of flavor. I tried the almond and chocolate croissant and it was truly delicious.

Yelp
Service was really great, they were really friendly. Unfortunately the food was very meh. I had to send the bacon back. There was a lot of grease visible on it. The quiche was okay, but a little burnt on top. The hot lemon ginger drink was nice. It was like warm lemonade and felt refreshing.

Yelp
I stopped in here one day for a book club meeting. There were four of us and there was more than enough space to grab a table for our group. We ordered mostly tea and were served promptly by friendly servers. The music was the perfect volume for talking quietly over tea and books. Highly recommend this place for small group meetings.

Yelp
pretty solid breakfast spot with lots of health options. Service was pretty good and all food we had was above average.

Yelp
Walked in and everything looked appealing to the eye. Needed to be close to an outlet but all were located near vents and they had the air blowing on a cool spring day. Settled and waited for someone to come by however that didn't happen in a reasonable time so we left. Can't speak to the taste of the offerings sadly as we opted to go elsewhere.

Yelp
This may be the first place I've given a 5-star yelp rating too. Food is delicious. Staff is very friendly. We sat outside since the weather was so nice. We came for the japanese fluffy pancakes but really enjoyed everything we got. I love AdMo during the day. It's fun at night, but it's definitely a vibe during the day when the weather is good and the brunch hour is peak. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone looking for brunch. Will definitely go back to try their late night hours as well.

Yelp
I normally order from this location and have never actually visited. Well, here is my full review of today's experience. Service: I have to start with this first because it's the only reason I deducted a star. Service this morning was extremely SLOW. It is fair to mention that you are required to seat yourself but expect that the servers won't come to your table by the order seated, rather who they finally lay eyes on. I waited 20 minutes patiently until my waitress connected with me. She was ultimately sweet but geesh! 20 minutes??? I must have had a really good morning start if I stayed 20 minutes and didn't walk out. Nonetheless, my order came out quickly but then I had an additional wait for the check. Wow! I think I should also mention that there were only 2 people on the floor and maybe, 7 occupied tables. Ugh, service today was a 4 and that 4 is only for the waitress and her hospitality. Food: so here is where my stars apply...the Belgium waffle topped with fresh berries and whipped cream were absolutely delicious!!!!!!! I ordered a side of bacon because ummmmm bacon makes everything STELLAR!!!!!!! The waffle had a little crunch from its crispy outer core but as you dug further into it, the interior was buttery soft. Sooooo delicious! And those berries were by far: fresh, sweet, and complimented by the best whipped cream I've ever had. Highly rated here for a perfect 10! Beverage: with early morning humidity in DC, everything cold starts my day. This led me to select the iced latte with vanilla and almond milk (milk selections are oat or almond) very good latte! The vanilla added just the right sweet balance and the coffee had the boost that I needed. Perfect 10!!! Cost: for the portion, you really can't beat the prices...the waffles were $10 and I can't remember the cost of the bacon. The latte was $5 and hey! Those prices, in this inflating economy works wonders for me! Overall, I probably wouldn't do another sit down here because who likes waiting long?! Certainly not me lol But, I would say that I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and beverage as I normally do when I order it online.
google avatar

Maddy F.

Yelp
The prices in this establishment do not correlate to the atmosphere or the quality/quantity of food. Coffee is served in this oversized cups that guarantee that it will be cold by the time it gets to your table. Wait staff is stretched thin and hard to get their attention when you need something. Food is okay. Nothing to write home about. Expensive.

Yelp
Love coming here for a light brunch! We were able to sit outside during DC's random second summer. Quiche is my go-to, but their omelets and pastries are great also. When my latte arrived, my kids asked "Is that soup?!" (because it comes in a bowl). The brownies were too sweet for our tastes, but the kids inhaled the bread--guess they are cheap dates! I love that their menu has something for everyone, with high-quality ingredients.

Yelp
I had ordered their ginger apple cider hot drink, and it was disappointing. I had expected it to be bursting with flavor with a strong ginger and cinnamon taste, but that unfortunately was not the taste. It tasted like a water-down version of store-bought apple cider. In fact, I felt like I could probably get tastier apple cider from a grocery store! For the décor, it is quite a lovely, bright dining place. A few people were on their laptops here working. I could see myself occasionally stopping here in the future if I lived closer to study! But, overall, my experience for the dining was great but the drink turned out to be ~$8 for a very bland apple cider drink. Definitely would not order this drink again. Matter of fact, I'm surprised it is still on the menu!

Yelp
Delicious breakfast / brunch items with wide variety of baked goods. The staff is very helpful with menu suggestions & service is top notch. Thank you!

Melissa S.

Yelp
always great, the best european breakfast in the city, high quality produce.Service quick and not overbearing. Merci

Yelp
super cute stop for lunch for one! indoor and outdoor seating. inside feels like you're abroad, lol. the waitress was very nice and quick to attend, and food came out fast. some people were talking with friends more traditionally in a restaurant type setting, but there were also people sitting alone with laptops. overall a good stop!

Yelp
I ate some of the Dutch mini pancakes and they were very yummy and tasty. My son ate the Belgium waffles and it was amazing and exquisite. I would definitely go back because everything was fresh like the tea and lemonade. Everyone was nice and the service was so quick. It was quiet and peaceful.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. This is not my first time at this location but it will be my last. The service here is never good, but today (a Thursday at 10:45am) it is abysmal. The sign says wait to be seated by a staff person; despite the three groups of us waiting to be seated no one ever did. Finally we walked to one of several open tables and sat down. A server did smile at us when we did so and confirmed that yes, we should just sit where we wanted. We sat. And sat. And sat. Luckily I had grabbed a menu when we were waiting for some nonexistent person to seat us, because no one ever brought us one. After a good 15 minutes someone came over and asked if we were ready. They took our order and disappeared. Never brought us utensils, napkins, or the water we requested. Another 15 minutes and my coffee arrived, and another person's iced coffee. Still no napkins or utensils. It took a few minutes for me to get someone's attention to ask for stevia and a spoon; I still had to go to the area for takeout coffee to grab packets of sweetener and some wooden stirrers. By then my coffee was cold -- although it could not have been hot when it was served to me because it was *really* cold. We have been here for coming up on an hour: no food, no utensils, no napkins, no water....it is busy but I have seen it far busier, and regardless if you can't handle a crowd in a place like this you have a problem. The server -- when they have shown up at all -- doesn't seem harried so much as...clueless. Tatte is about two blocks away; I've never stepped inside one but even so I recommend that place rather than this one. Zero stars. Absolutely do not recommend. Picture of the saddest breakfast sandwich I have ever seen, replete with one slice (halved, so it looks like two) of unbelievably soggy bacon and "a half slice of questionably melted cheese". No one's "toast" was actually toasted.

Yelp
Ok, had I read reviews ahead of time I probably wouldn't have come, but I'm SO glad I did! Loved this place! Such a cute vibe and smells amazing - fresh baked bread and pastries. Breakfast was delicious! Will definitely be back next time I'm on this side of town!!!!

John G.

Yelp
Went for breakfast this morning ordered a regular coffee and a fruit parfait. With tax the bill should have been $13.50. Looked at my statement later this afternoon and was charged $21.00. There coffee is strong, bitter, and lukewarm at best, but I'll stick to the point. I went back to speak with management but he conveniently could not pull up my bill. His words, I'll do some investigation and if deemed a mistake was made we'll correct it. Like I told him it's about principle not a few dollars. My first mistake when the server checked me out, I just tapped my card and left. Never looked at what they charged me. Second, I feel like the practices at this location are deceptive. Hope they enjoy my $8 dollars because I'll never step foot in that establishment again.

Yelp
It's official... There is no place to get good chai in this part of town. And at this place, it's also impossible to get decent service. After waiting in line for a few minutes to grab a hot drink, I was told that if I wanted to stay, I had to sit in the dining area and wait to for a server. I took a seat and a few seconds later another girl (of a different ethnicity than me, I'll leave it at that) sits down at the table in front of me. The server rushed to her table before she could pull the chair to the table and brought her a menu. Then he walked right by me. Several times. A short time later, another server went to her table to take her order, and again, no one stopped to take mine, or even ask if I had been helped. Suffice it to say that I was more than a little annoyed by this point. When the server walked by me again, I stopped him and asked for a menu. I finally got one but despite my plans to order pastries as well, I decide just to stick with the drink instead. In a few minutes they brought me out the worst chai I've ever had. It was mostly milk, topped with milk foam and a ridiculous amount of cinnamon... And served in a bowl. Yuck! I returned the drink to the server, told him what was wrong, and asked him for a spiced cider instead. As he turned away, he gave me this look like, "Whatever....", but he never returned with my cider. After waiting about 10 minutes for my drink (and watching other talbes, including one directly in front of me, receive service in the process), it was clear that I was never going to get my drink, so I packed up my things and began to leave. As I did so, the same server roughly shoved past me several times without excusing himself, knocking me into my table without little more than a mumbled "Excuse me" *after* he'd practically knocked me over. I brought this entire situation to the attention of the manager, but based on the conversation we had, I don't feel too confident that anything will be done about it. Nevertheless, between the terrible drinks and even worse service, it's safe to say I won't be returning here again.

Yelp
Service and food was great, omelettes are huge and went away feeling full for most of the day. Coffee was good, not great!

Yelp
Came here for breakfast as they had just opened for the day. The staff was friendly and helpful. Anything you needed they would get for you. Really nice spot to sit and look at the people pass by.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee pastry salads. Every time we're in Washington DC we come here. Very enjoyable everything is yummy. Highly recommend

Yelp
I was in DC. For a conference. I got a recommendation to this cafe. The menu choices are great. You can sit down for table service or order to go. I had the quiche, it was delicious . The waiter was friendly and accommodating. Great place to grab a quick bite.

Yelp
I am going to be as descriptive as possible for this belgian waffle. The waffle can be broken down into 3 main components: 1. The inside of the waffle is warm, buttery, half fluffy & half dense 2. The oustide of the waffle has a light crisp crunch with the thinest layer of sweetness that satisfies the sweet tooth 3. The garnish is composed of fresh fruits and perfectly whipped cream By far one of the best belgian waffles, comparable to Belgas Cafe

Isa B.

Yelp
While their bread is good, I've had it with their online ordering. The system accepts orders but most of the time they are out of bread. If you are lucky, they call you to tell you not to come. Or they don't and then in lieu of an apology, they tell you that they are too busy. Because their time is precious but your isn't. And then, they tell you that they refunded you but the refund never comes. I was charged $22 for an order that they couldn't fulfill, never called to tell me not to come, never apologized for, and never refunded. The previous time I ordered a full loaf and when I got home there was only 1/2 a loaf. I can't think of worse service. So I've switched to Fresh Baguette.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Le Pain Quotidian means Daily Bread, in French. You can stop in to buy bread or baked goods, or sit down for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Positive: Fresh, mostly organic choices. Negative: high prices and the seating is crowded. I've been several times and the service is usually lacking in personality and speed.

Yelp
Food was so amazing!! Highly recommend the Warm Belgian Waffle. The service was so great and the place is adorable!!
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Been here quite a few times throughout the years. Normally just for breakfast. Each time, there's always a group about 5-6 of us. I'm sure they hate when you have a group and separate checks are asked. Breakfast menu was a few selections of dishes and pastries. The skillets looked amazing. I'm not sure if menu are change during seasons though. You have your basic avocado toast, croissant sandwich, bowls and so on. Food was good, didn't take long to get food. Location is great, right in the heart of DuPont circle. Each time I visit it's always winter, so outdoor seating is basically none. But during warmer seasons, I'm sure it's beautiful having your meal outside and people watching.

Kaitlyn R.

Yelp
the food was delicious, especially the french cream donut, and our server Grant was so kind and attentive!!
google avatar

Jose M.

Yelp
I went in the other day and had a plant-based frittata. It could have used more seasoning but it was chock-full of veggie goodness and I enjoyed it. I downed it with some warm honey-ginger-lemon tea, that was pretty tasty. Service was fast and friendly and the location is extremely convenient.
google avatar

Ariana T.

Yelp
I love this spot! It's right on the circle which is convenient, and it is decorated very beautifully. The staff are incredibly kind and offer good advice on what to select. Something that was annoying that had nothing to do with the restaurant but rather the website is that they offered a discount via promo code if you sign up for texts and spent $10+, and unfortunately the site would not let you check out unless you remove the promo code :/ Other than that minor issue I still really enjoy this spot and would recommend it!
google avatar

Jett E.

Yelp
Food was great but everything was to big and the cups don't have handles so you haft to drink it like soup. But good service and amazing ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
The Two women at the cashier do not take the Mask mandate seriously or they would mask up completely. Wonderful food my health is even more important.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
This bakery offers delicious coffee and breakfast/lunch options! There is seating both inside and outside for warmer days and the food is outstanding. Although I was only in town for 3 days and wanted to experience as many places as possible, I was drawn to come here multiple times because of how easy and delicious it was. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting somewhere to sit and enjoy their food and to those who prefer to grab something quick and go. Also, the staff is very attentive and friendly!
google avatar

Tiffany J.

Yelp
Great food but even better service! They ran out of the food I ordered and offered to take care of my order. The place is adorable and several great food options. Our server was very attentive to our parties needs. Will definitely visit again. In walking distance of an adorable farmers market t
google avatar

Nigel H.

Yelp
Had brunch the other day and everything was great! Food was fresh and delicious. Had the little pancakes with fruit, and the salmon omelette (both a must). A hot chocolate and mocha for drinks which were both in huge bowl like cups. Our server was very courteous. Had no problems with the service, and prep time was quick. Will definitely be coming again!
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
Food was good atmosphere by employees not so much. A woman was having her break right next to us and swearing on her cellphone and then another employee sweeping and moving the chairs around us to clean. And banging around. This was a half hour before they closed and we got there at 3:15. Kind of a disappointment...

Yelp
Thought I would grab my spouse's favorite sandwich from LPQ today - as a treat. What a mistake because the entire experience was not good. First of all, my spouse really likes the ham & cheese on french bread. The server told me that they do not make it on french bread amymore - they make it on a roll. OF COURSE, this is after I have ordered, paid and waited 15 minutes for the damn sandwich!!! At this point I was committed so I said ok. Then I wanted another 15 minutes for the sandwich - yes, I know that 30 minutes is a long time to wait for a ham sandwich. But it is St. Patrick's Day and I wanted to do something nice for my spouse. Anyway, my bad. So, I got the sandwich. Guess what? The ham is not real ham - the swiss cheese is not real cheese - the lettuce was old and wilted. Plus the servers were absolutely NO HELP when I kept asking why my order was takin so damn long!!!!! This is a definite DO NOT GO ANYMORE!!!
google avatar

Mari B.

Yelp
Good looking menu because I love Le Pain Horrible service Service with an attitude Sat for 15 min before someone came.....she was rude and never came back. Neither will I
google avatar

Kassiah D.

Yelp
I came here for lunch and had no regrets! The service was quick and the food was great! It was calm enough for a great table conversation and all the employees were either floating around making sure everyone was taken care of or cleaning a table repeatedly. Will definitely return for the pesto salad and great service!
google avatar

Nikhil U.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. don't go. you will not even be noticed. i would have given negative tip if i could.

Yelp
My mom and I stopped here to warm up on a bitterly cold Tuesday after visiting O Street Mansion. My brain freeze made me forget all of the small(er) neighborhood coffee shops we could have stopped in and we literally walked into the first place we saw. The table server was friendly and quick to get us waters. I noticed lots of people working on laptops and I do think this would be a good location to study, work, etc. My mom was disappointed in her chai. My pot of tea was fine but I wish I had more options for herbal tea than they offered. I would probably not stop in again just because I prefer Teaism for herbal tea and want to try Emissary next which is also in the area, but it was nice to warm up for a bit.

Yelp
I am from California and so glad to find this place just around the corner from my hotel. Awesome organic choices, love their avocado toast, quinoa cake, prosciutto sandwich. I wish they open one in California. Not sure why they don't have very good ratings here, perhaps because of the service. I agree that service is 2/3 stars, but food is 4 stars! If you don't care if server keeps checking on you, the table not as clean, then come here. Food won't disappoint you!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
I stopped by to order takeout for breakfast and ordered two cafe au lait and their breakfast sandwich with a side salad. The food took a bit of time to come out but it was understandable as it was breakfast time on a weekend. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheddar, & avo on a brioche roll. It was good and filling but I do wish they added a meat or something else to the roll to make it more flavorful. It was good and satisfying overall. The food was yummy and the coffee delicious and I would definitely come back to try other items from the menu. I would recommend coming early because this location gets so busy especially with the farmers market that goes on close by!

Yelp
I got a hot chocolate here and didn't really taste really choco lately. Im not a fan here but always give it a try. I guess their bakery stuff is ok.

Kristin B.

Yelp
Great little place for a fantastic chocolate croissant and a huge cappuccino. Service was great. Ambiance was adorable. Did I mention the Cappuccino is huge?

Yelp
This has the same upscale French country style as all the stores in the chain. All I wanted was coffee. Macchiato. After Five minutes I finally got the attention of a black clad waiter. Macchiato please. After 15 minutes and no coffee, I left. The waiter, to be fair, did bring a glass of water. PQ takes poor service to a whole different level.
