I fell in love with Le Palais on my first visit to Prague a few years ago, so it was a pretty easy choice to make for my "home away from home" on my most recent visit. As its name suggests, everything about "the Palace" is tastefully luxurious - from the opulent architecture and exquisitely appointed rooms, to the remarkable service and amenities. Located in Prague 4, is it about a 10 min car ride away from Prague 1, where you can find a lot of the tourist sites. So it is a tiny bit outside of the hustle/bustle of the Mala Strana/Old Town etc., but if you're in the mood for a stroll it is a pretty straight shot from the hotel down to the Charles Bridge area (about 30 mins walking with stuff to see along the way).
So the hotel is gorgeous - staff is very welcoming - multi-lingual staff makes it easy to communicate. Exhausted after my arrival, I sent my bags up to the room and popped in to The Library right off the lobby to grab a quick bite for lunch. Set like an English library you would see in a home, replete with comfortable armchairs, walls of books, and an open fireplace, it was quite cozy. I had a pasta fagioli and Duck breast with risotto that was utterly divine! To note: there is an absolutely gorgeous Summer Terrace to dine on with a wonderful view of the hills and the city.
My guestroom was beautiful - about 300 sq ft deluxe room with a King Size bed. Marble EVERYWHERE - all the bathroom walls, counters, and even the frame around the mirror. But what I LOVED the most - the FLOORS ARE HEATED! Yes, you heard me right. You know when you wake up early in the AM to go to the bathroom and your bare feet hit the floor - well it is nice and toasty warm! They also have state-of-the-art equipment in the bathroom - an electronic box on the wall does everything at the touch of a button - lift the toilet seat, warm the toilet seat, control the bidet, warmth of water etc. etc. Yes you can lift the seat yourself, but hey! Less germs on the hands, maybe? Lol Anywho, the geek in me thought it was neat! Hallways again were gorgeous, Victorian themed furniture spotted throughout the halls.
Lots of luxury amenities - private car service, personal shopper etc and the concierge can even arrange for hunting, horseback riding, castle hopping, or any other activity you would like to partake in while you're there. Luxury jewelry pieces are displayed throughout and available for purchase as well. The Pure Spa was a little slice of heaven - will have to do a separate review on that one. Definitely one of my fave hotels in Europe!
