Le Palais Paysan (Marrakech, Morocco) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"As the sister to Talaa 12, one of Morocco’s most impeccably modern riad hotels, it makes perfect sense that Le Palais Paysan would take contemporary North African design into the countryside. Situated just south of Marrakech at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, this so-called “peasant palace” is anything but stingy with its comforts. From the dramatic geometry of its entryway to the sweeping vistas that unfurl in every direction, Le Palais Paysan is a pastoral retreat less than an hour from the heart of the city." - Tablet Hotels

BEWARE! Le Palais Paysan – Wedding Nightmare & Dishonest Practices 🚨 I never imagined having to write this, but Le Palais Paysan in Marrakech ruined my dream wedding and stole my money. They took a €8,197.20 deposit, made false promises, and then completely ignored me. 🔴 Here’s what happened: ✔️ Paid a deposit in 2019 based on their agreed pricing. ✔️ Forced to postpone due to COVID-19 – they initially agreed to reschedule. ✔️ When I rebooked in 2022, they DOUBLED the price and refused to honor our agreement. ✔️ Passed between SIX different managers – all rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. ✔️ Offered a 50% refund, then stopped responding entirely. ✔️ No refund, no accountability, no integrity. ⚠️ WARNING: DO NOT book your wedding or event here! Their shady practices, false advertising, and lack of customer care make them completely untrustworthy. 🛑 What I’m Doing About It: 🔹 Filing a formal complaint with Moroccan tourism authorities & consumer protection agencies. 🔹 Disputing the payment through my bank & payment provider. 🔹 Exposing them through press, influencers & wedding blogs. 🔹 Posting reviews everywhere – Trustpilot, Google, TripAdvisor, social media, etc. 💬 If you’ve had a similar experience, please share your story in the comments. I won’t stop until this is resolved! #LePalaisPaysan #Scam #WeddingFraud #Marrakech #ConsumerRights #TravelWarning

Our stay at this so-called "luxury hotel" in the desert was nothing short of a nightmare. What was meant to be a relaxing, high-end experience turned into a series of disappointments. ||First, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed completely untrained, and the hotel manager was downright condescending, even mocking guests when we raised concerns. Instead of offering any solutions, she acted as though we were the problem.||The food? Don’t even get me started. Their “tagine du jour” should be renamed “tagine du nightmare.” Bland, and utterly tasteless. The breakfast was just as bad—limited options, no variety, and service so slow that we practically fell asleep waiting for our food.||Noise was another major issue. Nonstop construction sounds ruined any chance of enjoying the terrace or the pool area. The place was marketed as a peaceful retreat, but it felt more like a construction site. Manager didn’t care about our complaint.||The amenities were also below standard for a hotel that claims to be high-end. No fridge in the room, basic toiletries, and no spare plugs to charge electronics. To top it off, the hotel is incredibly difficult to get to, with barely any signage and a road that felt more like an obstacle course than a path to a "luxury" destination.||Avoid at all costs—this place isn’t worth your time or money.

My wife and I have been travelling to Marrakech for many years. We have just spent one week at Palais Paysan and it really is our favourite place. It's located outside a Berber village about 40 minutes from Marrakech but it is a haven of peace and tranquility. It's delightful. The hotel is immaculate and the gardens are beautifully manicured with fabulous views over the foothills ot the Atlas mountains. The staff are very pleasant, discreet and attentive. The restaurant food is excellent. We will soon be returning!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this so-called "luxury" hotel. First of all, the service was painfully slow. Every time we requested something, we had to wait ages, as if they didn’t care whether we were taken care of or not. Items were forgotten after ordering. To top it off, the manager was shockingly rude. We bought a bottle of wine from duty-free and wanted to refrigerate it, only to discover there was no minibar in our room. When we asked if they could refrigerate it for us, the manager, with an air of complete smugness, refused. She condescendingly stated that at “luxury hotels,” guests don’t bring their own wine. Her only “solution” was to take a picture of the bottle and later decide on a corkage fee! Seriously? The entire attitude was unwelcoming and completely lacking any service mentality. Moreover, the hotel is super hard to get to and can only be accessed through an abysmal dirt road. If you’re looking for a relaxing, guest-friendly experience, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This hotel clearly doesn’t understand hospitality.

Be aware ☠️ Booked a wedding, they cancelled the booking, took a lot to get the deposit refunded, which they didn’t pay in full. Lost £3500, due to flights. Completely destroyed what was meant to be lovely experience |I would recommend staying clear of these scam artists

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Le Palais Paysan for a company offsite event, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. As I rarely leave my hometown due to working from home, this trip was quite special for me, and the resort exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcomed. Brahim was always there with a warm smile, making me feel right at home. Said provided excellent service throughout my stay, always attentive and friendly. But what truly made my experience unforgettable was Hamada’s kindness. He went out of his way to go to the shop for me and spent time teaching me about Berber and Atlas culture and even some of the language. His insights added so much depth to my visit. The owner and his wife were also exceptionally welcoming. The owner even drove us to go quad-biking in the Sahara, which was an absolute highlight. Their personal touch made the stay feel extra special. The beautiful vista from the hotel is a sight to behold in person, and although the road there is slightly bumpy at the moment (Early October 2024) it is not any worse than many roads outside of Marrakech and a fully completed road will be finished by the end of October as indicated by the active development of the road to the village the resort is situated near. They treated me and my colleagues so well that I can’t wait to return with my family for a proper holiday as soon as I can. If you’re looking for a place with heartfelt hospitality and unforgettable experiences, I highly recommend Le Palais Paysan.
