We tried out this creative dining spot in Nice that has amazing reviews (4.8!), so of course we had to book a table. They offer a tasting menu where you can choose five or seven courses. Since the online reviews were so good, our expectations were pretty high.
The dishes were definitely creative, but to be honest, the flavors didn’t really come together for us. It felt a bit like grabbing random things from the fridge or mixing items from a buffet onto one plate—interesting individually, but not necessarily cohesive as a dish.
Maybe it’s because we’re used to Asian food, but a lot of the courses leaned more toward Indian flavors. Since the restaurant changes its menu regularly, it could just be that this current menu happens to be more Indian-inspired. Still, we came to Nice hoping to try something that felt a little more “French” or at least more unique to the region. For us, it wasn’t as exciting as we thought it would be, though we can see why others might find it exotic.
That said, the restaurant is clearly very popular, the atmosphere and service were nice, and you can tell a lot of thought goes into the presentation. Overall, it really depends on your taste and what you’re looking for.
