I had a nice dinner with friends at this neighborhood joint. The place is small, tables are a bit tight but they have outdoor seatings. The food was pretty good and service was great. We started off with Mussels Marinieres, Escargot, and White asparagus which was tasty. The Pork Chop special of the night was a bit dry, Duck confit and Steak Frites were flavorful and juicy.

The steak frites are phenomenal. The atmosphere is genuinely one of a kind as well. The crème brûlée is also worth indulging in on. Overall a supreme restaurant.

Google
Very enjoyable meal with great vibes and a delicious selection. Felt like we were in Paris and the food was exceptional: particularly the escargot, duck, and crème brûlée. Nice wine list and the whole dinner was reasonably priced. Particularly appreciated that the menu was not overwhelming with options - felt much more narrowed and specialized on the favorites. Could have happily sat here for an additional hour ordering more appetizers and wine, but alas, we were still in New York and tables need to be moved through.

Google
Both the steak frites and almond trout were delicious. The shallots with the steak made the dish and the lemon base for the trout were incredible. The atmosphere is very intimate and reminded us of France! Would definitely come here again with friends and family

Google
A decent French hole-in-the wall with outdoor seating, in an area with few options. Loved the art work on the converted wine bottles which were used for water. Finally a place that doesn't have freezing cold water. Slow service. Hot drinks were warm drinks (think warm brown water, luke warm tea etc). Food was decent. Bus boy did his job with such spreed, efficiency and precision; it's obvious he's an expert. I enjoyed watching him do his job so well... with a smile.

Google
A very cozy French restaurant. The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing. The escargot was very authentic and very flavorful served with a side a bread. I had the Trout Almondine, it was light, yet very buttery and savory. Highly recommend. I paired it with the Sauvignon blanc. My friend had the pan roasted half chicken which was also delicious, savory and full of umami. My only complaint is the service policy. The waiter would not let us sit down until all of the party of three were there, until we spoke to the manager. When we got seated, we were not allowed to order an appetizer in advance or a snack to share while we waited for the last member of the party in addition to keep asking when they would arrive. So again be prepared for a very strict service policy. Besides the service, the food was amazing. 7/10

Google
Everything here amazing! One of the best French restaurants in the city and that I’ve ever tried! The steak frites are to die for and the creme brûlée is the best one I’ve ever tried! Can’t wait to come back. 10/10

Google
We loved the atmosphere felt as if in Paris. I had the Duck Confit he had the Steak frites and both were wonderful. Be sure to try the desert as well!

Yelp
The food is French, the service is also French. We had steak and trout plus sangria. It was $100 flat with tax and tips. The atmosphere is relaxing despite their tight interior space. Would like to return.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at Le Parisian! The restaurant is small & cozy; I think it's a classic Parisian vibe, kinda giving you a slice of France. This is actually my sixth time visiting this restaurant, and I've pretty much tried almost everything on the menu. One of the things I've been getting consistently was the Bordeaux red wine, which is a good alternative to Cabernet for my red wine drinkers. It's very rich and smooth, and pairs really well with the steak frites, which is what I ordered for this visit! The steak is always cooked very well & tender, and the frites were crisp and golden. It's definitely a dish that's simple yet elevated, exactly what you'd expect from an authentic French bistro! One thing I noticed about the steak frites on this visit is that the sauce seemed slightly different. I'm assuming the ingredients or the sauce changed, but it had more onion-like shavings on top and the sauce was a sweeter flavor. Nevertheless, it was still absolutely delicious!! I really recommend making a reservation in advanced since there is limited seating. Definitely a place that I go frequently as a local and recommend to anyone else!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty solid steak frites and decently priced. A bit small, tables felt crowded and like you were interrupting everyone's conversation. Service definitely left something to be desired, but wasn't a huge damper on the evening. Not sure if I'd go back, but the steak was pretty worth it.

Yelp
Le Parisien is one of my favorite french places in Manhattan! Every time I've gone the food has been absolutely delicious. Some of my favorite things off the menu include the french onion soup, eggs benedict, and croque monsieur! If you're planning on taking advantage of their brunch specials, I'd definitely recommend either getting their early or calling to make a reservation, as the interior is super small! Overall the service is great, the staff is very warm and welcoming! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and looking for a quaint little brunch spot!

Yelp
Food was pretty good but the space was very tight . Additionally there was very littler interaction with the wait staff because they made you order your entire meal, including dessert all at once. I ordered the steak frites because there was at least one on every other table. It was clearly what people come there for and it was delicious. Steak was perfectly cooked, fries- well seasoned, and it was a huge portion. Despite this, I was underwhelmed by everything else. If my plans fell through in the area and I was hungry, I'd go again. However, I would not make this my main destination

Yelp
Small, cozy restaurant. The soups were good- French onion and asparagus leek. However, the salmon and trout were terrible! The trout was dry and flavorless. Even the green beans were hard and tasteless. The salmon was dry and the sides bland. Bread served cold and burnt. Very disappointing meal overall.

Yelp
"The best duck I've ever had" my gf's parent exclaimed as we talked about our time at Le Parisien, so to get things going, this place was enjoyable. A very intimate experience with only having 13 ish tables to seat people, a reservation is a must when you are heading here for dinner. This would be a nice date night spot, saw a few couples out on dates and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had the French Onion Soup, which is a must in a rainy and cold New York environment, very good, and also had the Chicken Paillard which was just okay, they have some thyme and other trimmings on it that you shouldn't eat, so it would be good to take that off before serving. But overall, a nice spot for a dinner date, 4 stars

Yelp
Cute, rustic with outdoor and indoor seating options. Limited space, so reservations encouraged I was surprised at how quickly the food came out. I mean it was like instant (almost) but the food was fresh and delicious. The chicken (roasted) was fresh, tender and cooked well through with a flavorful jus and a soft silken bed of mashed potatoes. The profiteroles come two to an order but since there were three of us they were kind enough to add a third. We also didn't feel rushed which was a welcome change from how it has become more and more in NYC dining. Will try this place again. P.S The owner is also usually milling around if you want to ask him about the place.

Yelp
A real neighborhood gem. Be sure to make a reservation. The decor is great. The space is tight. The food is delicious. The service is welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
My first venture into Parisien cuisine, and I quite enjoyed it! If you're a bigger group, definitely make reservations because the place is small. I have never been to Paris, but I felt the vibes from how this quaint place transforms into such a warm ambiance into the evening, with fitting music, candles, and bustling chatter. The Escargots With Garlic and Parsley ($17) was a must for me. I mainly tasted the delicious pesto-like sauce doused onto the snails. The land snails were relatively bland, although chewy. For my main course, I got the Duck Confit With Crispy Potatoes and Frisee Salad ($32). Confit, I learned on the spot, is a method of having the meat cooked slowly in its own fat. You can tell, from the greasy richness infused into every bite of duck. The duck meat itself were skinny strips too. The best part was when you get a hold of the aromatic duck skin on your potato slice! The salad was pretty bitter tasting to me, despite the dressing. The service was fantastic, and the meal, of quality. It is pricey though, so prepare the wallets.

Yelp
Homey, unpretentious place for comfort food. Duck confit is the move here. The wine list, like the menu, is short but solid. We showed up on a Saturday night and there was no wait, there was a caramelized fig salad special that was excellent.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant that reminded me exactly of Paris! We were originally seated inside, but it was a little dark, so moved outside. It was so cute and had great vibes, but outside suited the occasion more. The service was very nice as well! We didn't feel rushed at all during the meal. The Steak Frites was amazing! The steak was tender and sauce was delicious! The shallots paired with the steak very nicely and added a little sweetness to the dish. Didn't try the French Onion Soup or Duck Confit, but heard they were amazing as well. I really want to go back to try their brunch!

Jerry F.

Yelp
Are you looking for a cute small bistro that reminds you of Paris? Tin ceiling, French posters, and French music plays so that you actually feel you're in Paris. The food is so damn good. I love the pan seared whole roast chicken with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. Wife loves the mussels and frites. And we always end off with espresso and profiteroles. We've been going every couple of weeks since it opened 15 years ago. Try it. You'll love the experience and the food,

Yelp
The rudest and most disgusting service I have ever been victim to in 40+ years of dining out in NYC (I'm a native). Words cannot express how my wife and I were treated by these "waitresses" or "hostesses" who were right off the boat from France. NEVER AGAIN. Sacre bleu!!!!
google avatar

Doris D.

Yelp
Nice little cozy place to tuck in some dessert. We had the creme brulee and good coffee.
google avatar

Stace K.

Yelp
3 - Slightly below expectations The place was cute inside and good service. However, the food was disappointing for the price. It was simple and greasy. Most dishes come with French fries. Wanted a little more from a French restaurant for brunch.

Meg S.

Yelp
Still my go-to neighborhood spot for an authentic French meal. I usually have the chicken which is competely delicious. For brunch, I'll often have the croque madame. I've never had an off-meal here and every friend I've brought here has loved the place. Wheelchair accessibility note: This would not be my choice if dining with a friend needing a wheelchair. The bathroom is teensy and the whole restaurant footprint is small. If memory serves, there are a couple of steps at the door too.

Yelp
This is my wife's and my favorite restaurant in NYC. We discovered this gem years ago and now it's a must have every time we visit. Each and every time it's perfect. Service is so friendly, the restaurant is warm and inviting, and the food is just lovely. It feels like when your friends cook for you. The flavors, the care and attention to detail. I cannot recommend it enough. The Duck Confit is simply perfect. The Steak Frites are a revelation. Amazing French Onion Soup and every dessert is awesome too. Just go!

Yelp
Very authentic French bistro offering solid French classics. I ordered the Croque Madame ($21), which was pretty good. The cheese was nicely melted, although the ham was just ordinary in quality. The egg on top was cooked to a nice over easy, but the brioche buns were a tad dry. I've had some other Croque Madames before that were more pressed sandwiches and were a bit better, but that's not to say that this one was not enjoyable. It also came with a side salad and some ordinary fries. The Ham and Gruyere Cheese omelette ($20) was pretty much as you would expect. The ham and cheese were decent. The egg part of the omelette was surprisingly fluffy in a good way. I also tried the Escargots with Garlic and Parsley Butter ($15). They were good quality, and the garlic and parsley butter added a nice savory flavor. The escargots were cooked to be tender and not overly chewy. This restaurant has an authentic French bistro vibe, from the food options, to the owner/waitress speaking French with each other, to the French-style decor and cozy atmosphere. The place is a bit small with dim lighting, adding to the coziness and homey feel. Our waitress was pretty friendly and the service speed was quick. We were able to get a table for Sunday brunch right away without a reservation. Overall, while I wouldn't say Le Parisien has the best quality food, it is still pretty good. If you are looking for a classic French bistro experience in a cozy environment in the Murray Hill area, then I would recommend making a visit to Le Parisien.

Yelp
After binge watching GBBO, I scoured NYC to find a restaurant that makes the floating island dessert and finally found it at La Parisien. I decided to come for brunch since they offer a $20 entree deal with coffee. I opted for the croque monsieur and was not disappointed. It was extremely well sauced and cheese and I loved the bread they used for the sandwich. Very well crafted. The accompanying fries and salad were also very well done. The coffee was basic, but it was what I needed. The service was very friendly and attentive. My server was managing every table in this intimate space with grace. The interior and vibe was truly enhanced by the music chosen to play in the background. It felt very authentic and calm. This place is French causal which is awesome because a lot of French restaurants seem less accessible. The floating island lived up to the hype. A soft puffy meringue floating in a pool of crème anglaise. Their version also featured almonds and caramel. It was nice to have a break in the textures with the added crunch of the almonds. The crème anglaise was so delicate and the perfect amount of sweetness. I do wish the presentation was better, it was a tad lack luster for a dessert but at the same time this place is more causal, so I see the intention. I will say they need to update both their Yelp hours as well as their opening hours displayed on their website. When I showed up at 11am to dine I was a little disappointed to find I had to wait an hour for when they opened at 12. Not a big deal though, mistakes happen. Overall a good experience and I plan on coming to try dinner here sometime. Someone next to me ordered the escargot and it smelled divine. 4.5/5

Yelp
I had the steak frites, and my friend had eggs benedict. We both were very pleased with our orders. The ice coffee and cream buele make for a perfect brunch. The service was friendly and swift.

Amanda M.

Yelp
My family has been coming to Le Parisien for the last eight years, and it saddens me to say that the last time we went, we noticed something had changed, from the ambiance to the quality of the food; not that the food was terrible, but it used to be superior, it seems the level of food excellence and ambiance that made this place special is lost and became an ordinary, unremarkable, and forgettable but expensive restaurant. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be coming back.
google avatar

James R.

Yelp
This place makes me very happy. Amidst the modern Manhattan (with poodle and purse snippy eye rollers and good looking but moronic Marty McGillicuddy frat boys), this eatery is snug, well worn, and Montreal brasserie worthy. The owners are young and very true to tradition in this place. The escargot was a classic in garlic butter. The trout almandine was lovingly prepped (half a trout). The prices are very reasonable for Kip's Bay/Murray Hill (ironically only two blocks away from my first address in life). This place evokes understated elegance and evokes a time when Manhattan actually had a soul... Will be back.
google avatar

Kimber H.

Yelp
it was the coziest restaurant. It is tiny, but has a very warm ambience. we came for the steak frites and the steak was so tender it melted at first bite. this will be the plate where I compare all other steak frites to.

Celia G.

Yelp
The food and the service are excellent. The decor is charming, just like being in France. I had the mussels in white wine and frites. My favorite. The profiteroles are to die for. Nice sized portions. Every thing I have ordered here is outstanding.

JC C.

Yelp
Our favorite French Bistro...it feels like a Parisian neighborhood place with perfectly prepared dishes. Our favorites--Escargot, Duck Confit, Steak Frites, floating Island for dessert. Et Voila!
google avatar

Naomi R.

Yelp
Highlights of the night: Escargot. Perfection. French onion soup. Had a bit of a fun kick, not sure whether it was beer or a liquor but divine. One of the best ever. Steak frites. Cooked to perfection and the sauce was delightful. I lived in Paris for 2 years and this was as close to an authentic French cafe as I've been to outside of France. Only missing one star because the hostess was beyond rude when we arrived 8 minutes after our rez time after calling to say we were in traffic and they have a 15 minute grace period then telling us we needed to hurry up and finish because they had a wait at the door.

Milad A.

Yelp
The food and service were great. But they charged me with a 20% service charge for party of 3 and also charged 3% credit surcharge that I really don't understand what for it is! But I would give them one more chance...
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
Always a winner. Tiny but charming and the staff is lovely. I've had the duck, paillard and steak frites-all great

Yelp
Great place. soup was excellent . Friendly staff and service. Really French. That's all

Yelp
Absolutely loved it! The ambiance was casual but felt like something special, it was lively, but more importantly they had the most incredible mushroom soup and salmon.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem in the city!! They are so authentic and have such good food & drinks. I know they get busy during prime lunch/dinner time so make sure to reserve beforehand! First of all, their sangria is sooo good. And all their dishes were SO well seasoned and we all enjoyed our dishes! Servers are attentive and so friendly. Honestly, no complaints here. Definitely keeping this place bookmarked for date nights and girls' night outs!!

Yelp
Can't get away to Paris any time soon? Visit the Le Parisien Bistrot in New York for a fabulous meal in a romantic, cozy setting for classic French food served with panache. We stumbled across this gem on our way to another restaurant. It looked charming so we changed plans and went in. It does not disappoint. The escargots were yummy - a nice balance of garlic, butter, and parsley. The trout almandine was perfection on a plate. I wish I had room for dessert. We wanted to go back the next night but had to leave the city before dinner time. Next trip to NYC - we'll be back! Au revoir!

Yelp
Every time my wife and I come to NYC we seek out French food. We never miss coming to this restaurant. It is the most realistic french place outside of France I have ever found. I don't even mind sitting so close to everyone else, NYC style, the food is unpretentiously outstanding. If I lived in NYC, I would eat here a couple of times a month. The atmosphere is french, the drinks are so good (I have a pastis to start or finish, I don't want to remember). I think of the book A Year In Province and thank my lucky stars we were able to get a reservation. The meals' ingredients are skillfully prepared, and regulars have conversations with the staff. I feel unhurried in this mega-metropolis and lay back to enjoy my meal the way good food is meant to be had. Is this the peak of french cuisine? No, but it is the food cooked the way french people like it. Wash it down with good wine and an aperitif with dessert and relax. Enjoy this find! Remember, "Perfection is the enemy of the good." ~~Voltaire & Steinbeck

Yelp
Really enjoyed this restaurant. The staff was welcoming and attentive. FYI the restaurant is very small and they're pretty popular so if you can make a reservation, please do so. They outdoor seating too, which you may prefer if you want more room. They have an amazing selection of wine. If you go, try to order one of their French wines. Can't go wrong. The food is delicious too. I had the escargot and it was buttery and well flavored with garlic and parsley. Their duck was fall off the bone delicious. The chicken was good, but parts of it was a little dry which was disappointing. However, overall great experience here.

Yelp
This is our neighborhood French go to. Brunch options are tasty, homey staples, and I haven't had anything here I didn't enjoy. To boot, the owners are quite charming French folks who are always so friendly and welcoming. The dining area is small but in a cozy way - nice to duck in on a cold weekend.

Kenny L.

Yelp
I have visited many French restaurants in Manhattan, and this is the only place that offers authentic onion soup. If you're looking to try traditional French cuisine, this is the place to come. The menu may not offer a wide variety of options, but the onion soup and clams are delicious. The main courses are acceptable; we ordered the chicken breast and mushroom omelet.
google avatar

Andrea O.

Yelp
Food was delicious and fulfilling, there was free coffee with your meal and the service was great.
google avatar

Julian U.

Yelp
Le Parisien is still knocking it out of the park for an affordable dinner in NYC that transports you for a short trip to the bistros of Paris. Food - 5/5 I had the trout - just fantastic, with a crispy skin, delicious mustard sauce, perfectly prepared french lentils, and wilted greens. We also had the creme brulee although the bottom was a tad cold, so hope they warm it up a bit more next time. Drink - 5/5 For wine the house sancerre is also fantastic - highly recommend. Ambience - 4 / 5 Still a very homey feel, bistro-like feel. Was just getting a tad loud, but I think that was mostly the table next to us.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
Satisfied my craving for steak frites! Definitely would come back again just for this slightly charred, tender, and juicy steak frites. Next time, I could probably ask for rare, as I felt like the medium rare was bordering on medium. The fries were also extremely crispy and straw-like, which is how I prefer them to be. Friend got the seasonal branzino and was happy with her meal. No wait for a Saturday dinner, food arrived quickly with complimentary bread, and service was attentive.
google avatar

George S.

Yelp
I would have given them the 4 star rating I left 2 days ago, but it seems the owners decided they did not like the following review "The food was all right not as good as it was prior to Covid. I am not sure if they change chefs or not. I did like they are branches quite a lot but have yet to try it now after the Covid experience. I will definitely try them again if not for lunch so I can't really dissuade people from going here I would probably try them again for dinner sometime soon. FYI - it was a very hot day and I had to sit indoors with a noisy vibrating Frederick Kuhl through-the-wall air conditioner which clattered and their staff did know who to fix it." SO OWNERS LEAVE THIS ONE... YIOU TAKE IT OFF I WILL POST IT ON OTHER SITES ... LET US FACE YOUR FOOD WAS NOT GREAT

Ronald F.

Yelp
A truly authentic French bistro with charming atmosphere, superb food, and welcoming service. Has quickly become a "go to" for us when in NYC!
google avatar

Heley O.

Yelp
I love this place!! After coming back from France, I'd been craving duck confit, and this place does it extremely well for a very reasonable price. The duck was very tender and tasted just as I remembered from Paris (maybe even better than some places I went to in Paris). Will definitely be back!

Eric F.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in New York. The food, service and atmosphere are all amazing. It's the kind of place that should be impossible to get a reservation at, but lucky for all of us, is still accessible. You can really tell that ownership/the staff care about this place. Also, they have real and interesting specials all the time, not the same special every time or just something pulled off the regular menu. And the specials are always as terrific as the regular menu items.

Gail C.

Yelp
Zero Stars! It's one thing to not have a reservation ready. It's quite another to start yelling at the people waiting to go outside. We've been to this restaurant a number of times. And yes, it's tiny. And yes. The good is really good. But we got there ten minutes early a some guy said, can you walk around for ten minutes--so we walked around for twenty. We came back to another twosome waiting there--can't blame them--and the hostess/owner started shouting at us to leave, and she'd let us know when our table was ready. We won't be going back!

Yelp
Amazing experience. Delicious food and ambiance. The service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Cute old little place that brings back so many good memories. So nostalgic to have brunch here. I loved how it looked, felt, and tasted the same after all the years. Prix fix brunch was a total steal. I we also got the crème brûlée for dessert. It was textbook good. Exactly how you would make it if you make it straight from a French cookbook. Nothing hipster or extra; just simple and good French food. I would save room for the crème brûlée. It was really really good. I had the eggs Benedict with cured salmon and spinach omelette with goat cheese. They were both very good. They came with a side of fries and salad. Both were yummy and solid. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. It wasn't crowded on super bowl Sunday. I can imagine it would be busy if it weren't for that reason. I also like how there's soft French music playing in the background. The sound was perfect and enjoyable. Everything about this place reminds me of being in Paris. Will be back for dinner again soon.

Gilbert B.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little French Bistrot with good food at a fair price and lots of charm.

Terrence H.

Yelp
This is one of those special places with a quaint atmosphere, reasonable prices and a menu where everything looks good. I ordered the salmon and the salad special. Service was professional and flawless. Can't wait to return.
