This small Guest House is beautifully decorated with individually-themed rooms, thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail. We had the 'Olivier' room at the very top of the building (apologies to Dominique, who very kindly hauled one of our cases up all those flights of stairs.). It had a lot of space, with an adjoining lounge area which was great for relaxing at the end of the day. Our bed was exceptionally comfortable, with very good mattress and pillows. We slept very well. |The only point of improvement would be the breakfast - the young woman who served it was very cheerful and pleasant, but a choice of cereal would be very welcome. My husband is allergic to chocolate, and the only ceral on offer contained chocolate chips, which we had to pick out carefully by hand. Some milk on the table would also be good, rather than just yoghurt. |Thanks also for Dominique's restaurant recommendations - we ate well thanks to him.|Sisteron is a beautiful little town, and a great place to stop if you are driving the Route Napoléon or doing some hiking. We'd love to go back, and we would definitely stay here again. Merçi Sophie.

We had the pleasure of staying at this gem of a hotel in Sisteron two days ago. It was a wonderful experience. The unique architecture and beautifully appointed rooms were a delight to experience. We had a warm reception from the owner Sophie who ensured we were comfortable and made us a lovely breakfast. We had a fabulous evening meal at a restaurant near by on the recommendation of Sophie. Overall it was a delightful find and would recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Sisteron.

I never made a mistake booking. I got double booked because the original room was "no longer available" I was ASKED when finally got through to cancel booking and you kept both payments Sophie and you said it was 20% cheaper booking with you. We couldn't get a massage as it was weekend. I gave you 5star on room and location, 2 on service because, well...you weren't there, massage not there and 14 days later...still no refund, what do you expect??? The same week I stayed at O2 intercontinental in London, la licorne spa in Troyes, chateau de Matel....i am sorry if I gave my opinion...reviews are for you to improve with grace, you didn't apologise about the refund still outstanding 14 days later, lie on Google review and insult me. But it's ok, let's just agree to disagree. Good luck for your season.

Sophie hosted my fiancé and her parents as we viewed potential wedding venues in the area. The hotel was superb, it was a tasteful blend of old meets new with a wonderfully warm and homely feel. The rooms were beautiful and the breakfast was both delicious and large. If you want a unique stay in a beautiful hotel and location then look no further. I will recommend le patio de Sophie to all my friends, thank you for all the additional touches you made to make this stay extra special Sophie.

Just a one night stay at La Patio de Sophie and we enjoyed it very much. Our only holdback for a 5 star room rating was no air conditioning in chambre Durance, the uppermost room. The lower rooms likely remain cooler with the thick stone walls. With windows open the room did cool down to a comfortable level and sleep was easy on the lovely bed and linens. The room and entire property are very tastefully decorated and would be double or triple the price in a large city. Sophie herself greeted us at breakfast and we loved the story of how she came to create Le Patio and also Le Cottage de Sophie. She strives to provide an excellent experience and it shows.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our 1 night stay. We chose the suite with the jaccuzi bathtub. It was spacious, which is a delight in Europe. The decor is very chic while maintaining it's old world charm. The bed was comfortable. The living room was a nice amenity. We had lots of room. Breakfast was very tasty: a warm bread basket with lots of choice. Yogurt and granola. Fresh scrambled eggs. Fruit. And more. We added on a massage -- wow. I completely recommend it. The masseuse was very talented. She did two different styles, and I'm sure she has more. One deeper type for my muscular husband who has pre-existing injuries. And for me she did an energetic healing modality. LOVED it.

This hotel over promises and under delivers. Check the reviews carefully, the good ones are mainly old. The photos make it look a lot more chic than it is.||||It has no parking of its own. You have to hunt in the side streets for parking.||||And I hope you like stairs - there are a lot of them, many uneven and there is no lift.||||Our room was tired, and not as clean as it should have been. There was a very obvious white stain on a black curtain that had not been noticed by them, and there were hairs on the floor down the side of the sink in the bathroom. It was not a large gap, but it should have been cleaned properly.||||When we raised the issue of the stain in the morning (we noticed it late at night), the owner simply tried to tell one of her members of staff to clean better. If I had been in her shoes I would have been appalled to find such a dubious looking stain on a bedroom curtain.||||Prior to arriving, we had asked for dinner in their restaurant, but they replied and told us it was closed. Off their own back they booked us a table at a nearby good restaurant for dinner. We were appreciative of this until we arrived. To find it was at a time we had not requested (it was later) and even worse when we arrived at the restaurant the restaurant told us that the hotel had cancelled our reservation. The hotel later tried to blame the restaurant for the error. And then to try to blame us for asking them to make the reservation when they themselves had chosen to do this for us. I'd have preferred it if they had left it to me!||||The wifi did not work in our bedroom - we discovered this late at night but thankfully we could resort to 4G. The following morning, the owner tried to blame this on a storm. ||||The room was hot, you couldn't have the ceiling fan on without the light also being on. There was a lot of noise from the street with the windows open.||||The owner tried to placate us with free breakfast. I wouldn't pay what she is asking for her breakfast.||||We fully accept that mistakes happen. But if they do, you should hold your hands up and apologise rather than make excuses or try to blame someone else. If the owner had done this, we would have let a lot of these issues go. Instead she was defensive and seemed to think we were looking for problems. Which we don't. We love supporting independent businesses and go out of our way to look for them. ||||Sadly sometimes you find a dud.

Beware this place has no elevator. We made a last minute booking and was put on the top floor. Have to climb massive amount of stairs to get up. We ended up leaving our suitcases in our car since it is impossible to carry up the five levels. The room has only one window looking into courtyard. There was a broken ceiling light and also broken tile floor which caused my daughter to fall. Only a small corner near the door gets Wi-Fi coverage and not the whole room. We would not recommend for a stay of 188euro a night. The next day we had a problem with our car parked at the entrance of the street. After trying two hours to find a solution, we came into the hotel to ask for simple help, to help translation for us with the phone service line. The front desk person was so reluctant to help. She kept insisting me to go to the Vietnamese restaurant next door to find help because they are of the same race! This is most ridiculous answer I ever heard. I told her all we needed was a little translation help and since we are guests here, we come here to ask for help. I had to insist her to help us and later found out she is the owner. That says the hospitality of this place.
