Le Pavillon des Lettres

"Occupying a powerful little corner of Paris (near the French Ministry of the Interior and the Élysées Palace), this 26-room sister hotel to the delightful Pavillon de la Reine conjures a chic take on la vie bohème. In this version, though, Rodolfo and Mimì are coughing into Hermès scarves, since the rue du Faubourg St-Honoré beckons too. Rooms, named after famous writers, are more cozy than grand, but they come with a lot of style. Individual color schemes were conceived by interior designer Didier Benderli: pigeon-gray walls, say, with thick chocolate-brown carpeting and deep-purple velvet settees and side chairs. The fluffy beds have glove leather–covered headboards, as well as great reading lamps. An iPad waits in every room, and junior suites upgrade standard baths or showers to whirlpool baths and rain showers. The hotel has neither a restaurant nor a bar nor a gym, but it hits a bull’s-eye for its well-defined demographic—the worldly and the well-heeled."

Le Pavillon des Lettres (Paris, Île-de-France) 48 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"From the same family that brought you the Pavillon de la Reine, here’s another pavillon entirely, the Pavillon des Lettres. This one, in the 8th arrondissement, is styled as a literary hotel, each of its twenty-six rooms named for a well-known author, from Baudelaire to Zola, Ibsen to Kafka. But though its luxuries may be subtle, it’s by no means only a hotel for bookish types." - Tablet Hotels

We just returned home to NYC from a 2 week trip across Europe, with Paris being our last stop. I had contacted the hotel before our trip to let them know I would be proposing on our trip and upon arrival, they had upgraded our room and welcomed us with drink vouchers and a nice box of chocolate. The room was very nice, service was exceptional and location was perfect! We loved that the hotel had an honesty bar - a self service bar located in the lobby. This was something we had not seen before and was a really nice touch. While we were there, the elevator was down for a brief period and upon checkout we were told that the drinks we consumed at the bar would not be charged due to the inconvenience of the elevator being down. I highly recommend Le Pavillon des Lettres!

This is a small but extremely well appointed hotel which was perfect for our family during our recent visit to Paris. It’s in a great location and the staff are so helpful and kind. It’s clean and extremely comfortable and quiet. The breakfast service was included for us and was full of good food to get the day started. We booked the family suite and the kids had their own room in a lock off. It was perfect for us. I would highly recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling with kids.

The perfect hotel for visiting Paris. 10/10 room, with the most supreme quality bathroom. 10/10 service. Amazing reception. Best breakfast in Paris. 10/10 location, very close to multiple Metro lines. And considerably little walking distance to the most must see attractions. The best hotel to stay in when visiting Paris, heavy price but worth every single cent!

A serene and stylish haven in the heart of Paris—highly recommended! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, tucked just steps from the President’s residence in a quietly secure neighborhood. The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and always ready to help (including pre-booking taxi services). Our room, Hugo, was beautifully designed, daily service was exceptional, and the hotel was full of character. Additionally, their breakfast was excellent.

Le Pavillon des Lettres was the perfect place to stay during one of the most important moments of our lives. The hotel itself is elegant, intimate, and full of charm — but what truly sets it apart is the experience and care they deliver. We stayed here for our proposal trip to Paris, and the staff went above and beyond to help coordinate the surprise room decorations after the big moment. When we walked in to rose petals, candles, balloons, and an “engaged” banner, it was absolutely magical. Everything was beautifully arranged and made the entire evening feel that much more special. The location is fantastic, the rooms are stylish and cozy, and the service was warm, discreet, and professional. We stayed in the Diderot room, which had a wrap around balcony and views of the Eiffel Tower. Whether you're in Paris for a romantic getaway or a milestone moment, I can’t recommend Le Pavillon des Lettres highly enough. We’ll treasure the memories made here forever.

Le Pavillon des Lettres is simply breathtaking — a true boutique hotel with that classic Parisian flair we all dream about. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a storybook version of Paris: elegant, cozy, artistic, and absolutely charming inside and out. The hotel itself feels like a luxury bed-and-breakfast meets a design-lover’s retreat. The rooms are small, yes (as most Parisian rooms are), but perfectly appointed, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully laid out. Everything has character and warmth, with the kind of details that make you smile each time you return to your room. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Every single person I interacted with was beyond kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful — the kind of hospitality that feels rare and heartfelt. Whether it was questions about Paris, extra help during my workday, or just a warm welcome every time I entered, they went above and beyond in every way. The location couldn’t be more perfect — tucked in a quiet, safe area with a government building nearby (so there’s always a reassuring police presence), but still a short walk to the Champs-Élysées, the Louvre, and the very best of Paris. Even Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur are only a 20-minute metro ride away. As a solo female traveler, I felt incredibly safe and well cared for the entire time. I originally came for work, but ended up staying a bit longer for some much-needed Paris magic — and this hotel absolutely delivered. I can confidently say that this is now my go-to hotel for every trip to Paris. It has everything: beauty, warmth, location, comfort, and a staff that truly makes you feel like family. Highly, highly recommend. Merci to the entire team — I’ll see you again very soon. ❤️

Amateurs pretending to run a hotel. After a long friday evening was woken up at 7am - first by room service knocking on my door for 10 mins. Then a phone call! By now i feared there was an emergency. They start talking to me in french - about what i ordered - which i did not. After realising i dont get an apology a ver very short sorry.” But then phone rings again. DO NOT DISTURB sign was on the door while this happened - which is only in english and apparently not understood by the staff. Ruined my paris weekend - had to do the day on a few hours sleep. For >500 euro a night. Avoid the hotel no basic hotel school skills available - nice building and room but no understanding how to manage a hotel.

The hotel is in a really good location with the Arc de Triumph, Champs-Elysees, Hotel Invalides, Louvre all within walking distance, however the Eiffel Tower isn’t but Uber and Bolt is cheap enough to travel to the Eiffel Tower if walking is too much. The hotel is located right next to the Presidents palace where the President lives so security is really high around the hotel which makes it incredibly safe. The view of the Eiffel Tower from our room was also an incredible added extra. ||The staff were always welcoming and were always supportive of whatever we needed. They also went above and beyond to make our stay extra special.||Our room was amazing, the bed was huge and comfy. We had a balcony which had a great view of the Eiffel Tower where you could have a coffee whilst enjoying the view. We had a Nespresso coffee machine which was stocked daily. The room was also cleaned daily to a high standard. We had plenty of wardrobe space and the bathroom was also very spacious with a good quality shower and bath. ||The breakfast was similar to most hotel breakfasts you receive at hotels in Europe, nothing special but it does the job. ||Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations and we would most definitely stay at this hotel again when we next stay in Paris.
