We had a great experience at this hotel! The rooms are very clean and updated and the staff is very friendly! The guy at the front desk every night had great recommendations for dinner every night. The location is right next to the subway station and surrounded by lots of great restaurants. We were offered a 50 minute session in the spa, with a salt water float pool and a sauna, which was very relaxing. The bar downstairs has a nice selection of cocktails to end the night. We loved our stay and would enjoy another (hopefully soon!)

Le Petit Beaumarchais is a typical Parisian boutique hotel.|The location is excellent right on the Boulevard Beaumarchais, within easy reach of everything on foot or by the Metro.|The first thing that strikes you is the level of service in the hotel it is truly first class. The room are functional more than fancy. There is no restaurant as such in the hotel. Breakfast is served and there is an excellent bar in the same space. The barman was truly entertaining.|The Spa needs a seperat mention. The ancient cellar of the hotel has been turned into a first class Spa. with salt plunge pool and sauna. I will recommend the hotel just for the Spa. Make sure to reserve, only one group or family can use it for an hour.|Dont miss breakfast on the small terrace in front of your room.

We stayed 2 nights at Le Petit Beaumarchais as we kicked off a trip through France & Italy. Le Marais was a new area for me, but it is very cute, safe, and walkable. Having the Bastille metro stop right outside the front door of the hotel was very convenient. The front desk, breakfast, and bar staff were all fantastic - we especially loved the bartender during one of our nights who chatted with us on drink recommendations and fun places nearby to check out. The rooms were comfortable, although rather small, but this is to be expected in Paris. The chocolates and welcome note in our room were a very nice treat, and we loved the big shower with the rainfall head. The bed was a little on the small side and not incredibly comfortable, but it was still a great place to fall asleep while we adventured through Paris. I loved the quaint, boutique feel of the hotel - the bar is a great spot to have some champagne and people watch in the evenings. I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a great spot in Le Marais!

I had the loveliest solo stay (in a room with a view over the rooftops to the Eiffel Tower) and can’t wait to come back! The hotel is charming and tasteful, and the location incredible - just steps from the Bastille metro station, and couple of minutes walk to Place des Vosges and Le Marais beyond. Reception was warm and professional, staffed 24/7, and approaching the hotel always felt like a comfortable return home. The room had everything I needed (great bed, LOTS of space, plenty of power points, beautiful light and view) and felt like a luxurious little escape in the middle of Paris. Already planning my next visit.

We had a great experience staying at the let petit Beaumarchais! Cute, cozy boutique hotel conveniently located next to the bastille metro and in a beautiful area. We were glad to be able to find a room that hosted 4 guests, as those can be hard to find in Paris. The spa pool looked amazing but we were never able to use it as our days were long touring Paris. The staff were so kind and accommodating, they even packaged and boxed up a piece of art I needed to ship home. Highly recommend staying here while in Paris!

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Le Petite Beaumarchais hotel, our first trip to Paris. A few weeks beforehand, I emailed the hotel, politely requesting a high room (hoping for some sort of view of Paris and a quieter hotel location). I got a reply asking what date I was travelling, and so I replied, even though I had written it in the original email..|We arrived at the hotel and met the lady at the desk in reception who checked us in, and then pointed to her left and said 'you're in that room'.|Our room was accessed from Reception. Exactly the opposite of what I had requested a few weeks earlier, my polite request had been ignored. I advised the receptionist of my request and she looked at me in bewilderment and told me the hotel was full.|So we went to our room, which was located up a few stairs next to the toilets for the hotel bar. :( |The room is really nice, absolutely no complaints here. Pulling the curtains back our view was directly over the bins, and above the kitchen. I couldn't have been more disappointed in the location of the room, |The next 3 nights were the worst nights sleep I think we've ever had whilst staying in a hotel. We could hear people in reception, we could hear the kitchen staff talking loudly very early in the morning as the kitchen doors below our room were wide open, and it is a working environment after all. As we were on the ground floor, we also had the added bonus of the Metro rumbling away every few minutes from 5.30am onwards. It was impossible to get a good nights sleep.||On our first morning, whilst making a hot drink, the cup cracked when the hot water went in, and water spilled out over the counter and onto the floor. We cleaned it up as best we could and advised the desk of what happened on our way out for the day.|The next morning, pouring water into the cup to make a coffee and this time coffee spilled out onto the worktop and onto the floor. The broken cup hadn't been replaced. Again, we cleaned it up with a small towel and once again told the receptionist what had happened on our way out for the day.. Late afternoon we came back to the room and found it in the same state as when we had left it, with the coffee stained towel on the floor and the tea/coffee facilities hadn't been refreshed, the bed unmade. Housekeeping hadn't even been in to our room. Obviously we then spoke to the receptionist who was unaware the room hadn't been serviced.....||Now more about the hotel in general: The location is fantastic. Bastille is a great base for Paris and I would highly recommend it.|Our room was really nice, as good as I had expected, although the miserly tea/coffee & milk portions was a disappointment.|The hotel Spa is a great way to unwind after a long day sightseeing.||So, would i stay here again? That's a definite no. I can't say yes after the experience I had last week.|The hotel is really nice but in my experience the customer service is severely lacking. There's a definite lack of communication between the different departments which affected our stay.

Great spot on the edge of the Marais by the Bastille, 5 minutes walk to Places des Vosges. Staff were lovely, the barman was great when we arrived very late and served us some welcome drinks. The floatarium is a great bonus. Breakfast a little average but fine for one day - we went to local cafes the rest of the time as lots around the area. Overall fantastic and I would return.

Google
This a really nice little hotel, it's not in the mass hustle of Paris, but pleasantly located with a little journey in. It has a tube stop 2 min walk from it's door and have some amazing restaurants near by too. I would highly recommend this place and we will be coming back.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my short three night stay here, I was travelling on business and felt very comfortable in this hotel. When my colleague and I arrived after a very long flight, the front desk had no issues allowing us to check in early to refresh ourselves (around noon) and mentioned my room had been upgraded - sweet! Each room in the hotel has a different theme so I was certainly surprised when I opened the door to my quarters and saw three (!) twin beds. I found it rather amusing to be a solo traveller with more than one bed but the room was super clean and cozy so it ended up working out well for me. The bed was ultra comfy too, so important when travelling! The front desk staff were super friendly and very helpful as well. They lent us umbrellas to use on the one day it rained during our stay. Although I didn't try their breakfast offerings, the morning food selection looked tasty. The elevator in the hotel is functional but super tiny. Something to keep in mind if you are arriving with piles of luggage. Capacity says 4 people but myself and my colleague were stuffed in with ourselves and our luggage. Would absolutely return here again when visiting the city.

Yelp
We stayed here 5 nights by the Basteille. Location is great by the metro station. Each room is different. We had 2 rooms. 1 was very silvery. The other had lights that changed colors. We were on 5th floor and had outdoor balcony with small table. Each room had a small toilet closet and shower with sink in main room. Breakfasts cost 12 euros and consisted of eggs, ham, juice, coffee, tea, croissants, cereal and fruit. I wish they varied it or provided free coffee or tea in room. They just had at happy hour. They have an honor bar in the lobby where you can get pop, wine, liquor. Employees were friendly and helpful. Elevator was small but didnt cause many problems. You couldnt fit a lot in it. We didnt see a lot of other guests.

Yelp
I recently traveled to Italy and France for a two week vacation in which I booked four different hotels. I have several friends and acquaintances who travel, and I have had many people giving me advice and warning me on how many of mid price range hotels are. The biggest trend was that hotel rooms are very small, showers are very small, and elevators are either very small, or not at all. While some of these things were true in some of the hotels we stayed in. Hotel Original in Paris was a great, quirky and very accommodating boutique hotel. We got to the hotel at about 10 at night, Every other hotel we've stayed up to this point, had been a little tricky to find. They were mainly in buildings sharing other, either bed and breakfast, businesses or even apartments. and only had one little sign outside that if you don't look very carefully you could miss. Not this hotel, in fact this hotel has lights on the outside that make the building look blue, it is the only building like this in the whole block, so you really can't miss it. I knew when I booked that each room has a whimsical theme. We got the golden room which was entirely gold even the walls. I loved it. The only complaint I have is the shower itself. it is very stylish and it looks amazing. it's a standing shower with a half glass panel and no door, which gives it a cool effect but it is not very practical. You cannot possibly shower without spilling water all over the floor. Other than that everything was so great Everyone was very nice and attentive and spoke fluent English. Even the lady who served our breakfast in the morning, which was included with the hotel. Initially I thought it wasn't but I was informed when we checked in then we got upgraded to have breakfast. Breakfast consist in coffee, juices and bread and croissants, with some cheeses, ham and yogurt and things of that nature. Not the best breakfast but It helps to be able to get something to eat in the morning so we can just get on with our day without having to figure out where to eat. After breakfast is done for the day, they have Nespresso machine which is free to use for guest, they also have a sauna which we didn't use but we were told more than once that it was at our disposal and to let them know and they also have something called honesty bar. Which is spirits that you can prepare yourself and you have to fill in a form and give it to the front desk so they can charge it to your room. Boy, that would not work here in America LOL! I also love that there was a train station right next to the hotel. We were very impressed with Paris subway system, but that is for another review overall this is an amazing hotel and when I come back to Paris which will be sooner rather than later I will most definitely stay here again.

Yelp
A classy boutique hotel located in Le Marais, steps from the Bastille metro stop. We stayed five nights, four days, and couldn't have been happier. The rates were excellent, the room had a nice view overlooking the Boulevard Beaumarchais, and it was very quiet despite that. The front windows of our room opened, which was nice to get some fresh air. The room--room 402, the "silver room"--was also not too small, as they sometimes are, and in fact had a big closet with shelves for our clothes and a safe. The front desk staff and dining room staff were all friendly and helpful; they all spoke English, too. There was free WiFi, a flat-screen TV and an iHome radio and alarm clock. We listened to the Paris jazz radio station the whole time! Not only do we recommend this hotel, we will stay here again no question.

Yelp
On my trip to Paris I stayed here, and I made a great choice. Each room has its own decor and name which is unique and that's one thing that I loved. The hotel is small but cozy. They do have an elevator which is wonderful. Our room was called the enchanted Forrest and it was beautiful. Both windows opened up where you can literally stand outside the rails and we also had a bath tub in the middle of the room. My husband found it hard to shower but which girl doesn't love bathing :) if ever in Paris stay here it's super central. Right outside the hotel you can see the infamous Bastille. There are a lot of Greer restaurants outside and the nightlife is superb. The hotel had great breakfast and the employees made your stay so welcoming. Anytime we needed a car it was there. Thank you for the hospitality we greatly appreciate it! Best of all the tour bus stops right across the street!

Yelp
This is a lovely hotel just steps from the Bastille metro station. I arrived just before noon, after a long overnight flight, and the attentive staff made my check-in easy and told me that my room was ready already. Each room has its own unique decor and style and I loved the view from my 6th floor room--you could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance and the Place des Vosges area in close proximity. The room may have been small, but it is designed in such a way that is very comfortable and absolutely cozy, so it ends up being the right size. I only had breakfast at the hotel one of the mornings I was there and the bread, yogurt, juice selection was fresh and tasty. Aside from the proximity to the Bastille metro station, several bus lines run nearby, including #91 to Gare de Montparnasse. If you are into walking, a nice stroll from Bastille to the Louvre should take about 30-40 minutes. Several restaurants are within walking distance, and I was delighted that the Café des Chats on rue de Sedaine was also a short hop away. As for the staff, everyone was friendly, courteous, and very welcoming. The hotel has its distinct charm and with its great location, I would definitely consider staying here whenever I'm back in Paris.

Yelp
A truly fantastic experience. I had room 402 the silver room and I was more than happy with it. This hotel is located so close to everything including shopping dining anything you could ask for. Hortense was especially helpful with me and I will never hesitate to stay there again. Bravo.

Yelp
Cozy boutique hotel. It is super close to public transportation, making it easy to get anywhere in Paris. I will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
My partner and I flew in from Seattle on a non stop to Paris and arrived at 6am. Tired and excited to be alive in Paris, we hopped into a taxi and took the taxi from Charles de Gaulle to Hotel Original. The taxi ride was about 60 Euro which I didn't think was bad. We didn't have any cash on us, but thankfully, there were two cash machines on the street on either side of Hotel Original. So we were at the hotel around 8am and I was exhausted and ready to sleep. Gilbert was at the front desk and extremely polite and attentive, telling me the room wouldn't be ready until 10am. So we ate breakfast in the beautiful breakfast area and consumed coffee and croissaints with jams and preserves made in France. The decorations are definitely new world and edgy. I LOVED the bright and metallic colors and the fiber optic lighting. Once the room was ready, Gilbert checked us in and we walked through the most awesome tiled black and white hallway to the little creaky elevator and jumped in with our luggage to the third or fourth floor. We stayed in "THE SILVER ROOM" which was so completely modern. I was enamored with how much the room had to offer! We had a street facing view, and the noise pollution wasn't too bad. ALSO THE FRONT DESK HAS USB CHARGERS TO CHARGE YOUR AMERICAN IPHONE or any other American device with USB connection. :) Ultimately, over our three day stay, Gilbert and Katia were warm and hospitable at the front desk. Katia is extremely friendly and conversational, always offering the fastest and cheapest way to get from Point A to Point B. She was quick to connect with us. When we stated we were from Seattle, she immediately brought up Nirvana and comparable weather to France (which for the record seemed very apparent in rainy and windy Paris in January). The location is to die for, close to everything and extremely easy for a taxi to bring you back to if you've wandered too far away. I highly recommned Hotel Original. The next time we are in Paris, I think we could easily stay here again and be very happy.

Yelp
I would stay at the Hotel Original every time. Nathalie and Fabien could not have been nicer. They made dinner reservations for me weeks in advance and were very attentive to any request made prior to my arrival. The location (Le Marais on the Bastille metro stop) is perfect. Easy to get to every part of Paris - but why would you need to being right in Le Marais? I stayed in their white room - which is stunning (and has disco colored lighting - that can be turned off). The room is small, but irrelevant since you'll probably be out and about all day. The have an honor bar downstairs if you need a quick drink before going out for the evening and free wi-fi. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Yelp
French chic has come in many forms, now it's a hotel! With jellyfish lights and a white diamond interior, this place was great. Very funky, but very comfortable with all of the amenities you'd expect from a boutique hotel like this. We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was very central and getting around Paris was very easy with it being so close to the Bastille metro.
google avatar

Yelp
Quaint yet funky, sophisticated yet down to earth, comfortable and unique are some of the ways I would describe Hotel ORiginal. The location was great in the Marais close to Bastille area, service and amenities are what I look for in a hotel. The staff were above exceptional. Definitely will return.

Yelp
Found this funky hotel through Trivago as we were in immediate need to relocate after walking into an AirBnb construction zone. Each room is custom designed and we were in the Joker room. Black lights brought out a silhouette of a coquettish joker on the ceiling. The room we were in was rather small; but we did have 3 large suitcases which themselves took up a lot of space. I'd go back for sure. Great location and easy to get around.
google avatar

Yelp
horrible experience. People were very unfriendly. Had issues with the front desk. They take your key as a mandatory rule. when you leave. the showers was in room and not in the bathroom. Water would spill everywhere when we showered. Rooms were small which is to be expected but this room was not situated well.
google avatar

Chloe F.

Yelp
Was super happy with my stay here. My husband surprised me with the trip to Paris and two nights here. Immediately the friendly staff and funky decor was noticed and loved! We stayed in the gold room. Gold bed cover, gold bathtub (with old school feet), gold walls --- but not tacky at all...just made me feel like a million bucks! The hubs also arranged for a bottle of champagne to great us in the room...it was tasty and cold! He is a sweetheart, but the service, location, and ambiance here is awesome, Didn't have the breakfast, since half a block down is an amazing belangerie (sorry my french spelling is terrible) that has delicious breads and offerings. Great location, mere steps form Bastille and a metro. Wonderful.

Yelp
Highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is clean, has quirky decor, friendly staff, is on the same block as the Bastille metro stop and a BNP Paribas, and has a grocery store, laundry, and restaurants all in walking distance. It has staff that speaks English and free wifi. We arrived early and arrived early and were offered to wash up, use the internet, and have our bags stored while we looked around the neighborhood and waited for our room. Our room was small as expected, but extremely clean. Each room has its own quirky decor. Ours had a joker/jester theme, with card suit drapes, black lights, and lady jester on the ceiling that was revealed by turning on the black lights. The room was a little on the dimly lit side, but it didn't bother us. It had a rain shower and great water pressure. The location is convenient and safe. Would stay there again and recommend it to anyone other traveler.

Yelp
UPDATED April 6, 2015: The management seems to have discovered that there was an error in the rates published on their online booking system. The rates that I had been seeing (noted below) were evidently in error, and were not what management believed should be posted. Because of this confusion, the management kindly offered to upgrade our room from a single bed to a double bed for 22 Euros per night. This hotel is decent, but it has never been anything that I would recommend. Now, I can assure you - because the management is really a bunch of typical Paris pickpockets - I will not stay at this hotel again when I travel to Paris next year. I originally planned to travel alone to Paris for business in June, and since I previously stayed at this hotel (as did two of my travel colleagues due to my previous recommendation), I didn't even THINK about shopping around for an alternative hotel this time around. Instead, I pre-paid in December 2014 for a single room (small bed) for my upcoming stay in June 2015. I paid 178 Euros in December 2014 (six months in advance) when the exchange rate was really terrible for the US dollar. The Hotel Original has held my money for four months - while the exchange rate moved substantially in THEIR favor, dropping by nearly 20 percent. That's OK, since I agreed to their "discounted" rate by paying in advance at the time. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you don't. Yesterday, on April 5, 2015, my wife decided that she really wanted to travel to Paris with me, so we went to the hotel's online booking system to check their rates for a DOUBLE bed room. The PUBLISHED rate available for our dates of stay were posted at only 198 Euros. We thought this to be a reasonable upcharge of only 20 Euros for a bed for two, so we sent the hotel an email asking them if we could upgrade to a double bed, because "my wife had never been to Paris, and she would really love to be able to go and see it." Here's where these pickpockets show their true colors: Evidently, the management knew that since I had prepaid my room 4 months previously that I didn't have many options, so they "generously" offered to "discount a double room rate from 289 EUROS TO ONLY 269 BECAUSE I HAD STAYED AT THEIR HOTEL PREVIOUSLY." THIS IS 70 EUROS HIGHER THAN THE RATE THAT IS CURRENTLY PUBLISHED ON THEIR BOOKING SYSTEM, and which anybody booking a double room today would pay. And get this...the SINGLE rate - for which I paid 178 Euros (equivalent of US$231 at December 2014 exchange rates) is now published at only 169 Euros (equivalent US$186 at today's exchange rates). These people already made out like bandits, making nearly US$50 extra per night (or US$350 for the week) on my prepaid rate due to the plummeting exchange rate, and now they are offering me a "discount" at only US$78 MORE PER NIGHT than they currently have published on their online booking system! Because the management is trying to take advantage of my prepaid stay and is TOTALLY GOUGING ME, I must now tell my wife that she cannot travel to Paris with me. These thugs are exactly the type of people that give the French people such a bad reputation with American travelers. They have the same pickpocket mentality that is running rampant in the public areas of Paris, and for which all of the travel experts warn you about. I will - of course - still travel alone to this hotel THIS TIME ONLY because I have prepaid US$1,600 for my single hotel room. After all, I really don't have a choice. I will NEVER AGAIN stay here, and I will recommend to all of my business associates to avoid this hotel in case they don't feel like getting robbed. If you are looking for a decent hotel, this one may fit the bill. It isn't great, by any means, but it is clean and located close to the metro. There are many other hotels in Paris, however, that are superior. If you DO choose to stay at Hotel Original, however, MAKE SURE TO KEEP YOUR HANDS ON YOUR WALLET, as their management is nothing more than a bunch of pickpockets.

Yelp
This is a very cool, little boutique hotel. Front desk staff is extremely helpful and friendly and very willing to answer questions and make recommendations. Hotel decor is def original and modern. We had the "Joker" room with blavk, white and red with purple light and artistic stencil on ceiling. Shower area was very nice, bed was very comfortable but, holy batman, the rooms are TINY! I am not a big person and my husband is 6'2 and thin and we were pretty cramped moving around room. Doing a jumping jack would have been impossible!:). However, hotel rooms in Paris are notoriously small so par for the course. Area around hotel is fantastic and right by Bastille metro stop-metro is super easy toaster especially if you've dealt with subway in NYC.

Yelp
Hotel Original made our stay perfect. Fun and unique rooms. One thing that was sort of in our way was that there were no fans in the bathroom so our whole room would cloud up from the doorless shower. GREAT staff, everyone was so kind and helpful.

Yelp
Excellent hotel in a great location just off Bastilles. The rooms are very small, like most places in Paris, but they were super clean and well-decorated. My room on the 6th floor faced inside the block and was super quiet. The staff was also wonderful and let me store my bags, laptop, etc. in a safe up until I left for my 11:30PM flight. Would definitely stay here again! Tres chic!

Yelp
I booked this hotel for my boyfriend's surprise trip to paris and was quite nervous, particularly when I saw all the scaffolding on the outside (this was jan 2008). Inside, however, it was absolutely gorgeous, quite small but with a sweeping staircase, nice, albeit old fashioned decor, and fantastic staff who spoke English really well. The room was quite small but really nice, with a decent en suite. It was cleaned everyday too. Best of all, the hotel is really well situated in Bastille, right in the centre of Paris. There were plenty of things to do within walking distance, and it was really close to the Metro, making it very easy to get around.

Yelp
We spent a lot of time trying to find a hotel in Paris that will be to our liking. It is very hard due to the fact that the pictures do not reflect the whole picture plus you have to know the area to stay in... We found this hotel accidentally by just looking up the hotels near La Marais district where we wanted to be. What attracted us was the closeness to nearly all the Paris attractions( 20 minutes from anywhere in the city plus the metro station is right next to the hotel). When we got there the staff was nice( people are nice if you treat them well) and our rooms were ready before the check in time. This hotel has rooms done in a different themes, so if you are particular about the colors or the atmosphere you need to request a specific room. The hotel was clean and the front desk was accommodating, they even made couple of reservations for us. I enjoyed a stay here!

Yelp
WONDERFUL location and great service! The staff at Hotel Original was very helpful and polite. The room was funky, fun, clean and came with free WIFI. There are tons of restaurants, bars and bakeries close to the Hotel, which is always a plus. Finally, the metro station is right around the corner.

Yelp
Coming into the lobby I was blown away by the uniqueness of the place. This place has a great location and the staff was very friendly. With that being said, I felt a little mislead by the website. The rooms looked a lot bigger in the pictures, (still a decent size for Paris). All-in-all this is a funky, fancy style hotel room with the common amenities you'd find in most hotels, but at a fraction of the price. The biggest disappointment was no bathtub in the room. Lots of the pictures online showed a bathtub and taking my girlfriend for a romantic evening in a pricey hotel I was not pleased. The staff was not able to move us out of the room, due to full booking. Nonetheless I expect and enjoyable evening.

Yelp
We were looking for a boutique hotel in the Marais district online and the quirky design concept of the Hôtel Original caught our eye. This is a great hotel! The central location (steps away from the Bastille Metro station) makes it so convenient to explore all areas of Paris. Keep in mind, though, because we were so close to the metro station (literally on top of it) we did feel the occasional rumbling of the trains passing underneath us (we stayed on the 1st floor), which took some getting used to. We stayed in the purple room, which is decorated with a nod towards Alice in Wonderland, colorful striped drapes, animal mask light fixtures and funky stuffed chairs. The bathroom is great, but the shower has one of those common European half-doors, which can create a little flood on the floor if you're not careful (why are these so popular?). My favorite bit of pampering were the complimentary house slippers with the hotel logo embroidered on them--a very nice touch! The breakfast looked good with cheeses, sliced ham, cereal, various juices and such, but we never tried it, however when I requested coffee for the room I was given a lovely tray of hot coffee, warmed cream and several types of sugar. The staff was extremely helpful, they all spoke English and were happy to recommend places to eat in the area. All in all, a great place to stay, and I would definitely come back.

Yelp
My wife, twin boys 12, and I had a very nice stay at this hotel for a week last week. We booked it originally because it looked decent and it was one of the few places in the area we could afford where we could get all four of us into one room as opposed to having to get two rooms. We had family members traveling if France for part of the time we were there, and they were already booked at a place in the Marais, so it's possible similar places can be found in other parts of Paris. Although not cheap, it was much less expensive than getting two rooms at a place that would be acceptable to my wife. The room and the hotel in general seemed very modernized in its look and vintage of the plumbing and lighting fixtures. We always used the stairs, but they have a small elevator. The set up of our room was that there was one large full size bed and two separate single beds. The single beds could be separated from the rest of the room by a curtain. This meant the boys could be separate from each other but still together, and we could still read after their bedtime. The room (206) was a bit small by American standards, but quite manageable, with two separate closets with hangers and shelves built into the bed unit. the only problem was the shower enclosure, which looked very nice, was only partial, allowing the boys to get water all over the floor even more so than at home. The shower fixture itself was amazing, and the ample hot water could be controlled precisely as to volume and temperature. I had asked for a quiet room, and ours was in the back of the hotel so we heard no street noise, though one night there was a blues band in one of the neighborhood bars on the street. The staff was great. Over the week we must have interacted with 8 different folks at the desk, and all were very nice, and everyone spoke English fairly well. I wanted to print my boarding passes from my email, and the clerk worked with me patiently to allow me to use a hotel iPad connected to their printer to download my email and print them. The location is great. It's about 50 feet from the Bastille metro, 100 yards from the Seine, and very close to the beautiful Place Vosges. The route to and all around the Pl Vosges is full of bars, restaurants, shops and galleries. The Picaso museum is 15 minutes by foot. The Paris history museum is even closer.

Yelp
Totally in love with this hotel. Fabian and I forget the other staff's names were awesome and eager to help. We were really sad to check out. We stayed in the silver room which was small but who cares?!?! We were in Paris! The location could not be better placed to the Metro. We got our reservation off of Jetsetter and would jump at the chance again to stay at this marvelous hotel.

Yelp
My partner and I just stayed here and had a lovely stay. Definitely agree with what most of the posters have written - its funky and nice and the staff are really wonderful. Breakfast is fine but in truth the croissants at the Boulangerie 2 doors down are to die for. Highly recommended particularly the croissant almonde!! Great location for sure right next to the Marais and down the block from the Bastille. So why 3 stars? Well the rooms are just absolutely tiny tiny tiny. I read another review that said "hey its Paris". But we have stayed in many many hotels throughout Europe and this puts the T in tiny. Some people seem to like the Joker room but we asked to move from it on arrival - the decor was just not our style. Actually we found it a bit unnerving. We moved to a room upstairs that we liked better which was a bit bigger. Again, nothing bad to say about the establishment - we had a lovely stay. But if space is an issue for you I would definitely have some pause. We had very little room for our hanging items. Barely enough room for our suitcases and we had a hard time finding space to even open up a bottle of wine and have a snack. No space in the bathroom for toiletries. Perhaps there are a few rooms that are bigger. Also our tastes run a bit more to the classical so for us we would probably want something a bit more in the shabby French chic style and less space age. We picked it for the location. But again, it certainly is very well run and other than the size of the rooms it was all very good. I am sure there are far worse places to stay!!!
