On the Grid : Le Petit Coin

"Le Petit Coin épicerie is a cross between a farmstand and a speciality grocery store for all your pantry needs. You'll find incredible salts and amber maple syrup, along with Quebec-grown produce harvested the same morning. It is truly a piece of country living in the heart of the city. They also make a killer grilled cheese and a variety of salads." - Dynamo

I ordered dumplings for pickup & had a great first experience! It was super easy to preorder through their website, and everything was ready on time. I grabbed my order & enjoyed it across the road in Parc La Fontaine—such a lovely combo! The dumplings were flavourful, moist & the portion of 15 was really filling. I think I’ve found my go-to place for dumplings in MTL—highly recommend!

Passed by cute place omw climbing at Zero Gravite. I have a memory that the place is quite famous so I decided to try it out. I ordered lamb soup dumplings and tempura shrimp. Both were good! I also liked the decorations in the restaurant. Plants by the entrance and inside. Felt really cozy.

Petit Coin Dumpling was fantastic. We tried a variety of dishes, but the pork soup dumplings with coriander stole the show — juicy, fragrant, and perfectly wrapped with that pop of fresh herb that made them unforgettable. The restaurant is cozy and unpretentious, but the food speaks for itself. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back and try the entire menu. Highly recommend for any dumpling lover visiting Montreal!

Best soup dumplings I've had in Canada. Amazing hot n sour soup! Amazing! Low starch and perfectly shredded ingredients.

I feel so lucky to have such a cute little gem right by my place. I order or do take away quite regularly and have also eaten in the restaurant before. Everyone was super welcoming and lovely & the dumplings are truly delicious & freshly made. 🥟 The restaurant is super cute inside too and you can see the staff making the dumplings. There's also an open kitchen. Love it!

Le Petit Coin Dumpling: A Must-Visit Culinary Gem in Montreal Le Petit Coin Dumpling offers an extraordinary dining experience that will leave you speechless. From the moment we arrived, our waitress Lily provided impeccable service, making us feel right at home. The food was phenomenal. Every dumpling was crafted to perfection, bursting with authentic flavors that transported us straight to the heart of traditional cuisine. The bustling atmosphere of the restaurant added to the charm, filled with patrons who, like us, were there to savor the exquisite dishes. One of the highlights of our visit was watching the dumpling-making process unfold right before our eyes. It was fascinating to see the care and precision that goes into each dumpling. In addition to the mouthwatering food, Le Petit Coin Dumpling boasts a fantastic selection of imported beers and sake, perfectly complementing the meal. Conveniently located next to a La Fontaine park, it’s ideal for a relaxing walk after your meal. Alternatively, you can take a short 12-minute drive up to Mount Royal Park, which we did, making for a perfect end to the evening. If you’re in Montreal and craving authentic dumplings, look no further than Le Petit Coin Dumpling. It’s a culinary experience not to be missed, and we highly recommend it.

A great spot next to the park. Service was quick. The ambience is nice. Super kid-friendly, with little toy gifts and child chopsticks and cartoons playing on the TV. We enjoyed the meal. The menu has lots of options to suit various dietary choices.

Went here to celebrate my birthday and I had a really great experience. The food was really good especially the curry chicken dumpling as well as the pork+ shrimp and chive dumpling. But my favorite was the fried wonton dumpling!! 🥳

Yelp
Oh, we forgot to review Le Petit Coin! Forgive the oversight here. We ordered (drum roll) a lot of dumplings -- vegetable, pork, beef, chicken and lamb (!) -- the latter being to the best of my recollection the first I've ever had. Both steamed and fried. So the place is tiny, crowded with takeout boxes, with the takeout customers awkwardly milling about, the tables are as basic as they get, there's almost no seating, and we were kind of boxed in. WHO CARES? THE DUMPLINGS ARE GREAT! We had spectacular service in three languages, and the chef came out to check on us amidst all the chaos of a Friday night rush and we had a brief and lovely conversation about dipping sauces. It is a little odd the sauces are extra, and the only minor nit I can pick is that they were a teensy bit bland compared to what I'm accustomed to. But delicious nevertheless and worth shelling out the extra money for if you've a mind. But the dumplings are so delicious they honestly don't need sauce. Delectable and done just right. I'm sure their business model supports a lot of takeout, but the quality here is of a haute cuisine restaurant. A new location, menus without pictures, a little dim light, you could have a Michelin three-star experience. But in the meantime, I'm delighted to have found this place and look forward to coming back again.

Yelp
I was visiting Canada for the first time, & decided to stop here for dumplings. Their dumplings are delicious!!! My favorite part is that the cooks have a table set to the side in the dinning room dedicated to making the dumplings. These dumplings are so good I went back the next day to get more, as well as my last day in Canada. Now I'm currently in America craving le petit coin dumplings

Yelp
Ordered General Tao with Rice, Vegetable Spring Rolls, Chicken Dumplings with Coriander! The dumplings came with the most delicious chilli oil dipping sauce!!! It was the perfect meal for a casual movie night/dinner at home with husband! Would definitely be ordering from here again! Taste 10/10 Quality of Ingredients 10/10 Price 10/10

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular dumplings. We tried all three chicken dumpling varieties and struggled to identify a favorite because they were all so good. They each have unique flavor so definitely try a few different ones. That said, the portions are quite large - something like 15 dumplings an order. Also be sure to order the dipping sauces because they did not come with any other sauce in our to-go order. We got the chili sauce and the peanut sauce and they were both great. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I can only comment on 2 menu items as I just popped in because I love dumplings. I tried the chicken and coriander along with some sweet potato fries. Both were excellent. The dumplings were fresh and full of juice. You can tell they were homemade and not frozen. The fries were crispy and thicker than usual. I would return in a heartbeat to try more.

Yelp
Nice little place offering some delicious dumplings. The spicy chili oil was really good. Worth checking out if you like dumplings.

Yelp
Should be 3 stars for my veggie dumpling only. Service would be 4.5 stars. It looks like a family operation and they definitely spoke French. Complimentary shrimp chips was a nice touch. Mr Leny enjoyed his pork dumplings. There were 2 veggie choices and I choose the assorted with tofu. The wrapper was perfect, not too thick and did not fall apart. However the filling seemed almost 95% tofu. I was expecting a bit more veg or shrooms. Each table had soy sauce, black vinegar and chilli oil but the vinegar was not "tangy" enough for me and the chilli oil lacked heat. Hopefully they will improve their veggie dumpling.

Yelp
Amazing dumpling, steamed and fried. Sauces are extra wich is a little odd but are delicious. Its cold AF and shitty inside but then again so are all the best dumpling spots no ? Its a place meant for take out and food delivery platforms such as door dash etc ( literally 2-3 people come in per 5 min) nevertheless its worth it to eat on spot. The flavours are amazing, the sauces (although pricey) also amazing. Great variety also. Def recommend!!!

Yelp
A dumpling restaurant, just around the corner, awww yisssss. Ordered the seaweed salad. You know, the type of bright green wakame business that you're more apt to find in a Japanese restaurant. Except it's in really Indicative of Japanese cuisine in this form, and is usually bought premade in large frozen blocks, and contains a disturbingly high amount of sugar. So, like, a non-Japanese version of a Japanese salad. In a restaurant serving Chinese dumplings. Served over a bed of spinach greens and mesclun salad, and dressed with a mysterious, white, viscous emulsion, that I can only describe as *ranch dressing*. Dumplings were satisfactory. They did the job. Sadly, the flavours of the filling aren't really discernible, and fall more in the category of "amorphous beast" flavour. But fried nicely and satisfying. I'm no lover of the OQLF, but there's also a shocking lack of service in French. On a zéro déchet note, a sad presence of disposable chopsticks, so do bring your own if possible.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I go here about once every two weeks and absolutely love it! We've only ever tried their steamed dumplings but would highly recommend all the different combos. I'm a big fan of the pork and green onion and he swears by the chicken and curry. Everything is made by order and you see them make it in front of you.

Yelp
Excellent homemade dumplings, especially the shrimp and coriander xiao long bao. They also have a few vegetarian options, out of which I really enjoyed the mushroom and cabbage dumplings. The best part of Le Petit Coin is the super sweet people that work there!

Yelp
This place was our go-to for dumplings before covid and since we are so happy they have stayed open to provide delicious comfort to their loyal customers. We live really closeby and never expected to find the best dumplings in Montreal on the plateau. Previously, we'd go to chinatown or downtown. The service here is kind and thoughtful. We really appreciate their set-up for takeout during this time. It looks like they put a lot of thought into safety and cleanliness. That's very reassuring for us.
