Google
We so wanted to enjoy this meal in the outdoor patio area. We were tremendously disappointed. The quiche was salty with a mealy texture. The hamburger was bland and clearly frozen and came with chips rather than fries.

We walked over to this place since everything was so busy in the tourist area. We loved the food and latte. The service was great we will definitely be coming back during our stay.

Google
We walked up to the counter and ordered a glass of wine, a glass of beer and a cheese platter. The beer came quickly, the wine came a little bit later and we did have to wait a while for our cheese platter. The wait felt very Parisian. We both enjoyed the wine and the beer, and the charcuterie platter was delicious with perfect combinations of cheese, fruits, and pickles.

We stopped in here for breakfast. Fantastic food, And authentic local atmosphere. The proprietor was lovely and friendly. In warmer and clearer weather, they have a terrace out back. A gem of an experience in old Quebec City.

Google
Lovely, cozy cafe with kind, professional staff. Yummy food and a menu with good options for kids and adults. Thank you for a peaceful time on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Discovering a new board game was a bonus!

Alex Tara

Google
We got the beef burger and chicken wrap. Both were tasty. Also IPA on tap was great. The place is just off the busy street but it was almost empty.

Google
We were just walking by and saw the sign for the patio, so walked in. Such a lovely spot! The service was kind and fast, the traditional breakfast absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere quaint. The low rating is underserved!

Bryan Baker

Google
Nice casual cafe. We had the caesar salad and marguerita pizza, both delicious, and a couple of glasses of wine, both good. Friendly staff too. Off the main tourist street so more relaxed.

Yelp
This is a sweet little place. Off the beaten track. We had Aperol spritz in the garden with a charcuterie board that was all local cheeses and fruit. This is a "look up at the menu" sort of place and the ladies behind the counter were very attentive!

Robin B.

Yelp
The server was kind and not to blame. We got wine and a cheese & charcuterie board. The cheeses were utterly devoid of flavor, the meats were mediocre at best, and the nondescript bread and stale water crackers comprised a sad little waste of $70+.

Yelp
I have a soft spot in my heart for unpretentious, family-run restaurants, probably because my Grandparents used to own one. I came with a group of four people, two of whom had been here before and loved the Salmon Pie. They came back specifically for that dish, and their enthusiasm convinced the third person in our party to order that too. In the name of Yelp research, I felt obliged to try a different dish and ordered the Vegetarian Pate Sandwich. (See photos of both plates). It was excellent! The owner himself served us. He has a warm, personable way about him, and between his limited English and our limited French, we had a nice little conversation! The interior is quaint and looked pleasant to sit in but the weather was warm so we chose to sit in the courtyard. The high walls and plants created a peaceful space away from the noise and throngs of people just half a block away on the crowded Rue Ste Jean. (See photos) Le Petit Coin Latin gets 4.5 stars from me, rounded up to five.

Yelp
While strolling around the streets of Old Quebec City we had passed a place called Au petit coin Breton a crepe place that my wife had said would look good for breakfast. A couple of days later she wanted to go there for breakfast. So we started walking over from our hotel and came upon Le Petit Coin Latin. I commented that it looked better then the other place and less of a tourist trap. I was right. Le Petit Coin Latin is more of a local's place where you can stop in for a quick coffee and a croissant. I was surprised to find my favorite breakfast meal on the menu. A bagel with cream cheese and bacon. My wife ordered some crepes and fruit. Our meals were both on point. The bagel with bacon and cream cheese was just like the way I make it at home. The coffee was excellent and the service was fast and attentive. I was sorry I discovered this place on my last day there. I would have gone there each morning for breakfast. I know where to go the next time I visit Old Quebec City. Give them I try I know you'll like it!

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast this morning - seems like a popular place for "petite dejeuner", and they have a very extensive breakfast menu including omelets, fried eggs, etc. I had the croissants w/ jam, juice and cafe au lait - it was very good, the croissants were still warm and the cafe was great. My wife had the blueberry crepes - the flavor was good, but they were not very hot. Another of our party had bacon and eggs which she really enjoyed. She also ordered the fruit plate pictured below, and that was really nicely done. The service was a little slow, but it's just a couple (man and wife maybe?) and they do all the tables and the cooking! I can only speak for breakfast, but if you are looking for a relaxed, quaint atmosphere with a good variety of dishes to choose from and you are not in a real hurry this would be a good choice.

Yelp
A cute breakfast place off the main road. We had the omelet and eggs benedict and fruit.

Yelp
Le Petit Coin Latin was a recommendation from our travel book and it's a real gem! I'm serious! The restaurant is cozy, inviting and prices are reasonable. They have a great selection of sandwiches, salads and entrees. We ordered the Croque Monsieur and the bagel with cream cheese and lox. Both were toasted goodness and came with a fresh side salad. What added to the fantastic meal was their selection of Unibroue beers. Love it! The restaurant is tucked away on a quiet street (nearby a hostel) and has outdoor seating as well. If in Quebec, I highly suggest you grab your next cup of coffee or meal at this place.

Yelp
I adore a small family run restaurant like this! It's just around the corner from the very busy streets of tourists. Well worth the change from the glitzy!
google avatar

Yelp
Following the Louise Penny Inspector Gamache trail! The raclette is a fun experience. Noon on a weekday and the lunch crowd is only a few tables. It's just off the busy Rue Saint Jean and clearly a locals place. Try the sugar pie and maple ice cream. Or the apple crumble. Fabulous.
google avatar

Yelp
This place gets 5 stars for excellent service. The owner and the servers were friendly and attentive. I was traveling by myself in Quebec. I had forgotten to bring some stuffs at the hostel, and they let me run back to the hostel to bring them in the middle of the meal. Well, I had to leave my cell phone with them. The foods were fresh, price was reasonable, and portion was generous. I liked the quiet location away from the hustle and bustle.

Yelp
What a precious find. We were looking for a place that was more affordable and more memorable than the bland traditional fare being offered at our hotel. As we sat down and received our coffee, we looked around and almost felt like we were back in Paris. The ambience is terrific! Our host (owner?) was very gracious and took great care of us. We ordered crepes and they were indeed delicious. So much so that we decided to try their croissants too. Equally tasty. So ... if you're looking for a friendly and good little breakfast place, by all means go here. You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
This restaurant has a beautiful patio, somewhat outside the main shopping district but near the b&b row. Service is slow, and food is average.

Yelp
I ate here for lunch with my wife and two young children. We all ate frommthe table d'hôte menu. I ordered the croque monsieur (very good), my wife ordered the quiche (she enjoyed it a lot), my 6 year old ordered the smoke salmon with bagel (delicious) and my 9 year old ordered the pizza (terrible). The restaurant has a great old world decor to it and during the lunch time service we were at, the owner was the waiter, cook, busboy and cashier (all done well). Overall I enjoyed the restaurant but think ordering a la carte might be a better vale since you can skip the soup/salad and get your coffee elsewhere (all in the name of visiting as many establishments as possible).

Yelp
Great food and a very nice little restaurant! Came here for breakfast with my family and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
Another fantastic eating and cultural experience in Quebec City!!! Small, cozy, intimate, warm - we came in from a chilly sub zero night! Super charming, but not fancy. Hidden off the main road. We ordered the steak dinner with a cheese fondue appetizer, thinking we'd be dipping bread and veggies into gooey melted cheese. Haha - must be the American version of fondue because the French Quebec version was a small piece of breaded and fried cheese - a bit of a surprise, but delish nonetheless. The steak was good - not a Texas-style massive affair, but good. So were the potatoes and veggies that came with it - good. The force de resistance was the raclette!! A plate of uncooked meats and cheeses cooked French rustic style on a table top grill. Ham, bacon, onions, mushroom, prosciutto, cabbage - cook them in whatever combo you want, then melt cheese over it - tres magnifique!!! There's more to this story though. Take any combination of meat and veggies and cheese, crack a raw egg on top, and cook them all together! Wow - warm, savory, delicious! SUPER FUN! Then cleanse your palette with some mini pickles - perfect! Cooking table side is something I always enjoy Korean-style, and with Sichuan hot pots. But I never knew about the French rustic version here in Quebec. Service was solid, although the waitress was busy. Next time I'd order a pitcher of cold beer (instead of multiple bottle), or a bottle of wine to avoid waiting for re fills.

Yelp
Waited 45 mins with no drinks or food order only a waiter that would commit that he will be with us in just a moment. Would highly suggest that you avoid.

Yelp
We were staying in the old city and decided to research for a more authentic local restaurant a bit off the beaten track. The Le Petit Coin Latin on a side street just down hill from the hotel district was just what we looking to experience. The 'Latin' in the name of the restaurant had us thinking it was more of that food style but really is more traditional French cuisine. Though they seem to offer some wild game (including kangaroo) and middle eastern dishes. So the menu offered a nice diversity of food types including the 'raclette' which couples or groups of people cook their own food on a specialized grill at their own table, then melt cheese over the meats and vegetables they have grilled. It's fascinating to watch but looked like too much effort on the diners part. The restaurant is cozy and charming in the evening and the prices for entrees are very reasonable. I also found the staff to be exceptionally accommodating (my friend is a vegan) and attentive to our dining experience. The restaurant is a bit hidden off side street near the bustling St. Jean St. but its well worth the find.

Yelp
We went there for lunch and dinner....the lunch was nice....good food, good waitstaff. The dinner crew was rushed, not very attentive. Overall a nice cute little choice inside the Walls of Quebec City...great sandwiches, breakfast, pastas, etc.... My escargots were the smallest I have ever had...six of them...each one was about the size of a thumbtack.....Disappointed....

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant we stopped at for breakfast. I had break with a bowl of coffee and milk. It was amazing. Simple yet amazing. My s.o. Has a bagel with cream cheese and lox. The bagels are so delicious. Coming from New York we are picky bagel eaters but these a perfect toasted. Our waiter was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Well I just HAD to write this one. I had breakfast there alone today after reading other reviews that sounded reasonable. I was extremely disappointed. I ordered crepes with fresh fruit and blueberries. The crepes had clearly been made at least 24 hours ago, if not more, and re-heated in the microwave. In fact the waiter (who had no-one else to serve but me!) admitted as such. When I complained (in Pidgin French), he brought me more of the same. The blueberries were likely from a frozen packet, and mushed then diluted down with some generic syrup stuff. Coffee was expectedly crap. Please avoid this place to punish an establishment that dares to not serve freshly made crepes! In Quebec of all places!

Yelp
The one star isn't for the food as we didn't stick around long enough. The food on other tables looked fine. We arrived at 6:30 with a booking. Party of 7. We had to ask for menus and bread. And 30 minutes later we hadn't so much as recieved our drinks order or even water. The staff seemed decidedly untrained and excessively slow. With very little hope we would ever get served, we walked out after 40 minutes.

Yelp
This place is unassuming, and tucked away in a corner of Old Québec. It's a place where you won't find many tourists, and the food is no-frills. I and my travel companions each had the multi-course meal, mine consisting of a salad, parmesan fondue, caribou pie, and sugar pie for dessert. All for $23, a pretty good deal. Each separate dish was not earth-shattering, but just consistent and good. The caribou dish especially was a nice surprise. It was sort of a pot pie (as you'd find in the US) and the meat inside was a little sweet, tender, and plentiful. I went with the sugar pie recommended by the waitress for dessert and was not disappointed, although I was about to burst by then from all I had eaten to that point. Not flashy, not touristy, but REAL. Worth a stop when you want a sure thing instead of risking it on a place more in the touristy areas of Québec.

Yelp
Great little place tucked away on a back street. One might almost think he/she has stumbled upon a secret, but with good food, service, and atmosphere others are sure to come. We had breakfast here and the prices were relatively reasonable. The food is, like much of Quebec's, savory and top notch.

Karin C.

Yelp
Excellent food! We ate here 3 days in a row for brunch. Centrally located but not touristy, very comfortable, very nice attentive staff. Also a very cute terrace away from the noisy street! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
My mom and I decided to have dinner here after seeing raclette on the menu outside. We were looking forward to a nice dinner on our last night in Quebec City, but didn't even stick around for the food. The first bad sign was the red wine. I saw the server pour it out of a big plastic bag and it tasted like it had been diluted with water. It was inexcusably awful. Two-Buck Chuck from Trader Joe's would have been an improvement. I told the server the wine wasn't good and he poured us another glass - from the FRIDGE. Yes, red wine in the fridge. The second glass was as watery as the first. The next bad sign was the butter for the bread, which was in those little plastic containers with foil tear-off tops that you see in takeout restaurants. We weren't given bread plates, and the bread was poor quality and worse, STALE. That was it for us. We decided to leave before the raclette came. It was almost $25 per person, and we didn't feel inclined to drop around $100 for a meal that was increasingly looking to be a waste of money. So we paid for our drinks, high-tailed it out of there and had a delicious dinner at a lovely little wine bar just outside the old city. It was a wise decision.

Yelp
Loved the set menu for two. We ordered escargot for an appetizer, wapiti stew for the main and maple ice cream for desert, a great meal and a good value, for something a bit more French than Poutine and Pate Chinois. Recommendations: we felt the maple ice cream is better than the creme caramel for desert, and beer is better than wine on the set menu. Loved the food and the atmosphere, Bravo!

Yelp
We stopped in on a very busy night in the city. The food was horrible and the service was even worse. Do not waste your hard earned money or time.

Yelp
A low profile superb diner. I arrived Quebec City late at night, it was like a life-saving moment when I found this place. I never tried Québécois food before was curious about the food they serve there. Me and my buddy saw the table next to us was having some sort of grill thingy and realized it was raclette grill - a swiss french style grill where you mix veggies, sausage, and chicken with grilled raclettte cheese. We ordered all you can eat style and it was a fun dining experience. The atmosphere was great, the food was awesome. Great. P.S. I miss raclette grill so much that I purchased one on Amazon after I got home.

Yelp
Incredible French cuisine inside of old Quebec. The food was delicious and was one of the best meals I had in my time in Montreal and Quebec City. I had the escargot appetizer, kangaroo and couscous gratin, maple syrup ice cream, and coffee. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Quebec

Yelp
While I think the term 'hidden gem' is a bit overused, I will apply it freely in describing the Little Latin Corner. Tucked away halfway up a slopey side street, it would be easy to miss. Thankfully we didn't! We both ordered the Table d'hôte - and there were several vegetarian options. 1) Tomato Quiche with a starter of vegetable soup; 2) Salmon Pie with a vegetarian terrine (something like a pâté) starter. Both came with salad and bread, and ended with coffee. Of course, a couple of glasses of house wine rounded out the meal. The service, managed alone by what I assume was the owner, was prompt and courteous. Again, he allowed me to fumble along in français. The food was just right - homemade, fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
So far so good. Loved this place. Small and quaint. Do try if in Quebec.

Mike C.

Yelp
Great little breakfast restaurant in old Quebec. Old style French restaurant, hole in the wall place. Good food good service!

Linda L.

Yelp
Don't bother coming for dinner. The meals taste like frozen reheated pap. My tourtiere had waxed paper under the crust. The lamb with couscous was so bland the hot sauce served with it could not wake up the flavor. We were cold, so I tried the mulled wine. It was warm, served with a watermelon slice, and tasted like sangria warmed up.
google avatar

Sonja S.

Yelp
I came here for breakfast and everyone in my group was very pleased! The food was great and the atmosphere is so quaint. We came at 8:30 on a Sat and I think we beat the rush, just as we were leaving it was starting to fill up. I had the brunch platter with eggs, chicken pâté, brie, prosciutto, toast, and lots of fruit. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
We stayed in an apartment right next to this place and didn't get around to trying it until our very last night in town, but boy were we glad we did. We were the only customers in the outside garden terrace and only 1 or 2 tables inside on a Tuesday night. When you first enter the restaurant it is as though you can see all parts if the establishment at once - you are looking down into a dishwashing area and up towards the kitchen and a bar not currently being used. They are definitely not catering to tourists, which after three days in Old Town was kind of refreshing. First you get a basket of multigrain bread and 'toast', which may have been repurposed bread of the same type from another day. Lots of options and a menu printed in both French and English, surprising for such an authentically local place. We went with the special menu that was like a 3 course prix fixed, but only 2 course and you could get additional appetizers at a discount. We had vegetable pate (oddly spiced, not our favorite) and cheese fondue, and if you are expecting something you can dip your bread in, think again. It was a small morsel of fried soft cheese, tasty and an appetizer in the truest sense, in that we were still very hungry afterwards. We ordered spinach lasagna and tomato quiche, each with a side salad. Both were delicious, distinctive and unpretentious, although the spinach in the lasagna could very well have been frozen, and the flavor of the quiche could be described as 'pizza puree', which is not necessarily a bad thing. In a city full of choices for carnivores, this was a really good vegetarian offering. The desserts may have been the highlight of the meal - a light and fluffy piece of chocolate cake with florets of whipped cream, and something delightful called Sugar Pie, pitched by our server as a Quebec Specialty, and reminiscent of pumpkin pie flavored caramel. The service was not fast but it was fine and friendly. One quirk is that you don't receive a bill at your table that you might be waiting for, instead the whole transaction occurs on your way out, so when you are done eating you just get up to leave. Time saving tip. All in all a very enjoyable idiosyncratic meal that was satisfying and gave us plenty to talk about.

Yelp
Fabulous food, great service, wonderful ambience. The three of us each had pepper steak that was out of this world! Beautifully cooked with mashed potatoes and incredibly rich gravy. Gateau chocolate cake equally as great as dinner. Would come back in a heart beat.

Yelp
For the most part we were disappointed with our dinner. We started off with unusually large servings of cafe au lait (in a soup bowl) along with stale sandwich bread and butter. We decided on the three course meal option which requires two people to order the same thing (and pay twice). We chose the veggie roquette which is basically vegetables, raw eggs, and sliced Swiss cheese which you cook yourself on a tabletop skillet. While the food was of good quality and excessive quantity, this "authentic" cuisine lacked any flavor, seasoning, or flair that wouldn't be found in a college dorm room. The only exception was the escargot, which was very good. We did not stay for dessert but were certainly charged for it.

Yelp
This restaurant has gone through many owners over the years. I used to go there for their vegetarian tourtiere back when I worked for the Quebec government in 1990. Today, it is a beautiful little place with marvelous staff and an extremely warm and inviting atmosphere. It's worth a snack or a quick lunch if you are on Rue St-Jean and need a little pick-me-up. The place is definitely not fancy, but definitely an original. Maybe I'm biased because the place carries so much nostalgia for me. However, if you were to eat there just once, you would have your own nostalgia for this beautiful little gem.
google avatar

Alejandro N.

Yelp
Pure shit!!! As an appetizer I ordered the vegetable pate which was accompanied by slightly stale, SLICED supermarket bread. (Wonderbread would have been a step up) It was followed by a ham and cheese crepe which was bland, rubbery and clearly spent half it's life in the freezer only to be melted in the microwave before being placed in front of me. I should have gone with my instinct and left. The place was obviously empty for a reason. Then to top it all off, I was slammed with an overpriced bill. Beware! You have been warned!
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Our first meal in the city. The staff is very pleasant, though not overly attentive. The food was good, not great. All in all, I don't feel I really got a 95 dollar meal - though I paid for it.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
It's a hit or miss kind of place. And, the hits are decent, as opposed to very good. I ordered two scrambled soft, with black forest ham, a croissant and a cafe au lait. The eggs were a tad tight and semi-bland; while the ham is in the bodega Hansel N' Gretel category (rubbery and salty). The croissant has a subtle, earthy taste and is moist inside; with a crispy and flaky outside. I was disappointment by the cheap Sealtest butter and Kraft jellies, as accompaniments. The cafe au lait is the highlight; a semi-strong coffee topped with an almost buttery steamed milk. Delicious. My waitress was friendly and certainly accommodating.
google avatar

Ben K.

Yelp
This place is not bad, but I was expecting it to be better after reading the other yelp reviews. I went for dinner mid-week and found the place nearly abandoned of staff and customers. There was a pile of magazines on the window sill, which had fallen on the floor and made a clutter. I ended up paying $30 for the wapiti tourtiere and a glass of below-average house wine. The meal came with a plain salad and plain mashed potatoes. The tourtiere itself was savory, but not very memorable and actually pretty plain as well. After finishing the meal, I waited for the check, and was eventually told to pay at the register. When I paid in cash, they didn't have $5 in change, and I was thinking this might be a strange way to extract a tip. Other restaurants in Quebec offered a better value for the money.

Yelp
This place gets 4 stars not because it's packed with beautiful people or has a killer cocktail list, but rather because it's old school style and basic menu just hits the spot in what can be a very touristy Old Quebec. I stopped in and had the escargot for a snack and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. Nice butter and garlic sauce served with a basket of bread for dipping afterwards. The owner serves the tables and makes a mean cafe au lait. Don't expect luxury or a scene here. It's just a side street oasis that recalls feelings of what restaurants used to be.

Olla L.

Yelp
Food is nice, environment is even better, you can eat at the back and look around for the flowers, trees, air... And price is not very high compare with other restaurant in same location, average 15-20CAD per person. One problem is, at the time I went (early noon), there is only one waitress there. I waited long for food, and the bills. Some people left because of the long long waiting to order.
google avatar

Marcos L.

Yelp
Sort of scruffy-elegant, lovely food and unpretentious service. Homey atmosphere. The sugar pie is to die for. Seriously. I had the caribou pot pie, which I guess is a must-try; it was good. As another reviewer says: the food is consistent & good. I regret not going back to eat here every night of our stay - other places were fine, but this one gets the balance of formal/casual exactly right.

Yelp
Great local place that is within the walled city (there aren't many of these). The food was classic french/quebec food and is great for breakfast and lunch... I'm not sure about dinner. I had the "cheese sandwich" which was excellent. Toasted french bread with white wine sautéed mushrooms and garlic... a great late breakfast (or lunch) choice!

Yelp
Great brunch spot in Old Quebec. We were famished (and extremely hungover) after a long, cold, but extremely fun, night out during our winter carnival visit. After stumbling out of the hotel aimlessly around Noon in search of nourishment, we luckily wandered into this nearby gem. The killer brunch platters and eggs benedict (yum!!) replenished us and brought us back to the land of the living. Cheers!

Yelp
Enjoyed coming here for brunch with our group. Ordered the ham, cheese and tomato croissant. Tasted great. Has a grunge-eclectic vibe. Great service, friendly servers. Enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
Nice place but the service was bad. We had to wait for more than 30 minutes just for a beer
