Finally got a chance to have dinner here, as had to cancel the reservation the previous time a couple of months ago.
Like the decor, though seating seems to be at a premium (they had many reservations that evening). However, there were groups that were spread out among two to three tables, with some of them working on laptops while others were chatting at the neighbouring table. Just thought the eatery might benefit from having a strict dining-hours policy.
We both had the starter of two duck rillettes on toast, which was okay. My wife had the smoked salmon crepe, which she did not thoroughly enjoy as she felt the texture was too soft. I liked my country style pate, which was a good portion.
The provencal seafood stew was tasty, and had 5 prawns as well as fish and mussels. It came with a slice of bread, which was similar to that for the pate. My wife ordered the French duck pie, but said there was too little duck and lots of mash, and the dish was overly salty.
We enjoyed desserts of poached pear belle Helene, and chocolate mousse, of which my wife approved. Desserts also came with either coffee or tea.
Service was quick and friendly, and the male staff members topped up our water regularly.
