"Snacked on a Gainsborough sandwich with mustard from Le Petit Parisien. If you’ve ever been to Paris or France and had a baguette sandwich, you’re like, God, why is that so good? They nail that. It’s a baguette with ham and cheese."

I cannot recommend. The sandwich is too small and too expensive. Hands down the worst baguette I have ever had. It was chewy like stale bread and had zero crust/crunch. Only half the sandwich was buttered. You would do well to feed your customers better because this is a hangry review that you completely deserve. Maybe I'd pay $8 for your trop petit sandwich instead of $15 if you improved the bread.

Google
This place is amazing! Small Parisian pastry shop/deli that offers quick and delicious baguette sandwiches. Friendly staff + I got a Jeanne D'Arc Sandwich (w/ artichokes, dijon mustard, mushrooms, etc.) The baguette had a beautiful crust on the outside and the flavor was incredibly balanced. A large sandwich for $14 (tax included) was a bit expensive for my budget but I savored every bite of it. I wish that my baguette sandwich was a little more heated but it's good as it is.

so so good and very good vibes. The guy working there is very sweet. Had the Brigitte bardot, French onion soup and an eclair. Very comforting meal.

I used to live in the EV and order from this spot all of the time. The vegetarian sandwiches are insanely good and the baguettes are delicious. I walked in today asking for a pain au raisin pastry which I used to order consistently and was told that they have never had any pastries with raisins and the trio working laughed at me for even asking. Such an odd and uncomfortable interaction. Pain au raisin is still on your online menu and I've had it from this location at least 20 times over the years. This was enough to turn me off returning. It would have been so easy to just apologize that it's no longer on the menu instead of denying that it ever was and laughing.

Are the hours on Google wrong for this place ? I love the sandwiches but usually come between 5 and 6 and sometimes you're still open but it seems like at least half the time the place is closed. I'll have to give up soon if I never know whether it's going to be worth the trip or not.

The French people’s arrival to the anericas is wrought with problems but they maintained to survive and to prosper. I get around NYC more then most people so I’m not sure how I missed the little French shop. I like a French roast on my coffee from time to time, this time because of work I was only able to purchase a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie. Both were delicious and the counter man was a authentic French person. Awesome right? Their establishment felt comfy with some art work that will spark your creativity. Nice place, and circle around again to try their coffee.#kingofcoffeenyc #sankofatafari #french #france #lionofthebx

I’m not sure why this place has any bad reviews! Their sandwiches are delicious and the folks who work here are very kind. Love this neighborhood spot and the Bridget Bardot baguette sandwich

Google
Some kind of undercooked and soft ciabatta bread has replaced the fresh parisian baguettes of the heydays… Not sure what’s up with the decor all about tragic events/death… Not while I’m eating please?

Yelp
Good, but underwhelming for the price. I had to take it home and add more cheese and garnishes for a heartier sandwich

Yelp
My review from April still stands, but in looking at my overall ratings I gave Le Petit Parisien a rating that was much too high. The coffee I had and poor service were well below a 3 star rating (which is equivalent to "okay"). Reposting my original review: I had a terrible latte here. Possibly one of the worst I've ever tasted. I ordered a plain latte and something was off with the espresso. The espresso flavor was VERY diluted. It truly gave a watery taste -- even espresso drinks from a self-service, automatic type machine have stronger espresso taste and flavor. When I asked to have another one made, the barista offered to add another shot (instead of making a new one). It added to the flavor somewhat, but did not correct the issue of the espresso just tasting diluted. From this experience, I would have to say stay away from any of the espresso drinks. If you see a Malongo brand coffee machine, RUN.

Yelp
Stopped in for a treat. Nice feeling place. Had the Foie gras, fig confit, organic sea salt sandwich. Most expensive sandwich on the menu at $36 for a mid sized sandwich. I deliberated and did it. Mistake. Fig confit too sweet, too much like jelly. The foie gras was good but like 6 medallions. Not even close.

Yelp
A cute French sandwich and coffee shop. It has a few seats indoors and a few outdoor tables, but I was just buying a sandwich to eat at the park. Got a daily special chicken sandwich with blue cheese and mustard, good portion and loved the combination of flavours. Staff are very friendly too, would love to try a caffe au lait next time.

Yelp
Good bread, terrible jambon and no butter. The ham is just thick sliced deli ham. You're better off going to Whole Foods to get a quarter pound of their European ham , a baguette and French butter if you want something closer to a classic jambon-buerre

Yelp
Cute spot with friendly staff. NYU/Cooper students get a discount. The baguettes are great, but the sandwiches could use more toppings considering the price, as some menu items can taste a bit bland. The baguettini are terrible. Other small baked goods are fine.

Yelp
Had a day off and actually ate breakfast at a reasonable time, so I was excited to treat myself to a yummy sandwich for lunch. I'd passed this place recently and thought it looked so cute and yummy. I had the Marie Antoinette - I lovedddd it. The baguette was delicious but definitely crusty/chewy in a way that I felt it on the roof of my mouth the next day haha, but not at all in a terrible way. The meat was deliciously cured. I did eat it at home, so I added a little more salt and honey. I also had a almond milk cappuccino, perfect. Would definitely come back! Also, if you mention you're an NYU student, you get a discount!

Yelp
Wanted to grab a sandwich and compare to what I experience in Paris. The restaurant decor was pretty cool; newspaper was used to cover the walls. Ordered the Le Parisian sandwich which is comprised of ham and butter on a baguette. Overall the sandwich was good but not as good as my Paris experience. The bread was good and crunchy but the sandwich could use some additional ham and butter.

Yelp
Came to grab a sandwich in store, after ordering delivery previously and loving it. The ham sandwich was divine, especially with the buttered baguette. Wish I could have tried them all. The coffee selection here is also awesome.

Yelp
Perfect spot for a French favorite! During my time in Paris, a great joy was enjoying a simple sandwich made on fresh baguette, topped with fine ingredients so ubiquitous there. These baguettes in EV don't have the same allure as eating them at one of Paris' many magnificent parks, but taste quite similar to ones friends and I would pick-up for picnics there. LPP's baguettes are good and crusty, and their ingredients simple but harmonious in flavors. Gainsbourg sandwich was delicious, with thick-sliced cooked ham and comté cheese. We added whole grain mustard to give it a bite. I love a good veggie sandwich and the Brigitte Bardot was a gem, with artichoke, goat cheese, kale and tomatoes. There's plenty of other sandwiches that all pay homage to French legends. Better to get a couple to share a few varieties, which you'll want to as c'est délicieux!

Yelp
Most underrated little sandwich shop in the city. Like most French dishes/snacks, the sandwiches are simple and perfect. Order the Charles du Gaul, it's made on a crispy baguette with aged ham and blue cheese. Super flavorful and just the perfect lunch to take to the park or if you're in a rush. They also sell the Best chips here, the iconic torres truffle chips. $4 a bag. Is it worth the price? Probably not but I still always get them as an extra treat Enjoy your life, get the sandwich and the chips

Yelp
I'm using this quarantini time to learn French. I am immersing myself in the culture. From Alain Delon movies to French cuisine. I've been to Paris once and basically all I did was walk and eat. Somehow the jambon beurre escaped me. Such a basic lil sammich. Baguette. Ham. Butter. I was gonna try to make it at home but heard it was some uniquely French butter and the ham used can't just be purchased at my local supermarket. When I Googled "best jambon beurre in new york", Le Petit Parisien popped up! While I was in the Village thrifting with my offspring, I decided to drop by and get my sammich. Upon entering, I felt like I should be speaking what little French I know. The environment was charming and the gentleman working there was so niiice! Got home, unwrapped that baby and... MMMmmm!! It SMELLLLLED FRESSSSHHHH!! This is the first time I can recall having a cold sandwich that smelled so delicious. The baguette was perfect. Crunchy on the outside and savory and soft on the inside. The ham was nice and thick but light, if that makes any sense. The butter provided the right amount of flavor. I never thought of using butter as a condiment. But I will now. That was a bomb a$$ sandwich. Thanks, for steering me in the right direction, Google!

Yelp
Quick service and great coffee Sandwich selection is full of delicious items and will be my next to tackle

Yelp
I think this may be the best sandwich I've ever had, and it was only a ham and cheese sandwich. But the ingredients are superior and you can tell they are carefully selected. And yes you can taste the butter!
google avatar

Olia G.

Yelp
Best baguette sandwiches I've had. Top quality ingredients. The artichoke and the smoked salmon ones are my fav (I get the salmon with butter)!

Yelp
I was in a daze wandering around Bowery, and in real need of a decent coffee and a small bite. Enter le petit Parisien. I swear, there are some places in this city that just nail what it means to server "Parisien" style bites. This place is one of them. What does it take? good bread, quality meat, good coffee. this place does all three very very well. Starting with the bread; omg it was perfect, crusty, flaky, held up cheese and meat perfectly. Speaking of which the ham and gruyere that came piled on top was superb. No cold cuts here, this ham was prepared fresh in house or nearby. Finally, the coffee was perfect, we had an Americano and a Nutella Americano (because why not that's why). Come here, cozy up to the small space they have to sit, and split a sandwich with a friend. You'll be happy you did.

Yelp
Ordered a sandwich and French onion soup. Sandwich was solid. Person #1 taking the order was patient and friendly. Their shift ended, and Person #2 (glasses) stared at us as we came in to wait for our food. Ended up waiting outside because weren't feeling welcome. After 10 minutes of sitting in the cold, went in to ask for our order, apparently they had made the sandwich (it was sitting behind the counter) and forgotten to make the soup completely. Soup had no cheese in it. Went in to quietly let Person #2 (glasses) know. Immediately, Person #2 argued that cheese was in the soup (it wasn't). Said he "watched the other guy make it and he definitely put cheese in." Kind of rude, since they had ignored giving us our food in the first place after paying. Chef in the back intervened, offered to remake the soup. Remade soup was solid (had cheese!) Overall would not recommend based on service and operations.

Yelp
An absolute pleasure to eat at. I got the Brigitte something sandwich (vegetarian) Great food, better service. Will be back soon

Yelp
Chi Latte with oat milk on ice is the best in the area. Also great customer service, thank you for opening 5min early for us!!

Yelp
I was in search of a burger after visiting McSorley's across the street, but I stumbled upon this quaint little sandwich shop. Awesome, crusty baguettes with various meats and cheeses. I opted for the standard ham sandwich with butter, and only finished half of it. For $9 I was very happy. They have a small assortment of quiches and croissants, which are not made in house but look great. The gentleman that waited on me was friendly and helpful. Nice small space for indoor seating and a bench out front. Overall, this is a nice little sandwich oasis.

R M.

Yelp
If you expect the sandwiches to be as good as those you get in Paris, forget it. You can even make it better in your own home. This restaurant's bread is too hard and it scrapes the inside of your mouth, which is not what you get in Paris. They also give you a lot less ham. All for twice the price as in Paris, and three times the price of what you can make at home (and with more ham). Then they want a tip of 15% or more, but refuse to even bring your sandwich to your table. They make you get up and get it yourself. You've got to be kidding me. I will never go there again.
google avatar

Jocelyn K.

Yelp
The sandwiches are simple, but much better than your regular deli sandwiches. The shop is super cute with limited seating, but it's great for a quick to-go place. I have tried the Gainsbourg with comté. I think it could have used more ham, but it was still a tasty ham and cheese baguette. I also tried Brigitte Bardot which is their vegetarian offering of artichoke, kale, tomatoes, and extra virgin olive oil. It is typically ordered with goat cheese, but I was able to sub the goat cheese for comté. It actually tasted like the Gainsbourg because of the comté. I couldn't taste too much of the artichoke though. Add cornichons for an extra $0.50. Add-ons range from $0.50-$1.00 and only the mustard is free. The baguettes are fresh, but they are a bit hard to chew and might hurt your mouth a little. None of the sandwiches are pre-made, but they assemble them pretty fast. They also have interesting flavored Spanish chips like jamon iberico, truffle, and cavier. The jamon iberico flavor tastes super weird.

Yelp
WOW !!! the Edith Piaf is amazing. The rillettes seriously hit the spot!!! i haven't had a sandwich that good in a long time!!
google avatar

Yelp
Le Petit Parisien serves some of the best chocolate croissants - if you go at the right time in the morning, they'll be warm and freshly baked (think chocolate oozing). An easy pick up for coffee drinks or a snack / pastry. I've tried both a sandwich on a baguette and a breakfast sandwich and felt a bit underwhelmed. The sandwich I got was one fo the signatures so some sliced meat with cheese in a foot long baguette. The breakfast sandwich was a ham, cheese and egg on brioche bun. Maybe this is the way it's supposed to be but both were essentially 75% bread... the breakfast sandwich was probably the larger disappointment / unexpected and for a steep $7.50... Overall though, I'd still go back!! The workers there are very friendly and feels like a neighborhood spot. Definitely stop in

Bloss C.

Yelp
I am such a fan of the Brigitte Bardot sandwich, which is the only vegetarian option on the current menu, and it's so good I don't think they need another option. Although I wouldn't complain if they added a Brie sandwich without meat. Back to the Bardot, the sandwich has kale, goat cheese, tomato, and artichokes. The artichokes are the kind marinated in olive oil, so there is no vinegar to overpower the other flavors. Served on a hard baguette in true Parisian fashion, I love this sandwich so much I have no qualms paying the $4.99 Uber Eats delivery fee to enjoy it. Bien joue Le Petit Parisian.

Yelp
The Gainsbourg with Comté is my go-to when I'm hungry for a baguette in the East Village.
google avatar

Tom J.

Yelp
Le Petit Parisien Exceeded my expectations. This is a very small homey little deli like sandwich shop located in the heart of the East Village. Came here with my girlfriend and left with a sandwich on French bread. The bread man was there delivering the bread as we ordered our sandwiches so you know it's legit. The only downside was that the sandwiches are over $10 and they're not that large but overall the quality was there and you're getting very good ingredients ingredients for the price in my eyes. Definitely give it a try if you do you are in the East Village area and want something different hope this helps.
google avatar

Bruno L.

Yelp
The server was really kind and clearly a very authentic French spot. My friend had a great fresh croissant and the coffee was pretty good.
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Nice little dive cafe . I Like it Diversified menu . Bohemian style not bourgeois style decor Atmosphere

Charles M.

Yelp
The sandwiches are great. Really. Some of the best French-style sandwiches in the city. So why the low grade? This place is horribly mismanaged when it comes to ordering. When ordering online, I routinely have issues where they claim they don't receive the orders, they forget some toppings, or they plainly don't even answer the phone. I'd absolutely LOVE to order more often from Le Petit Parisien, but every order feels like playing russian roulette due to poor management.
google avatar

Verena L.

Yelp
Holy baguette! The Gainsbourg is amazing! A little slice of Paris is just what East 7th needed. I once had squishy day old baguette here served with a side of attitude but today was perfect so I have amended my rating from 3 to 5 stars. Keep it up! Et MERCI!!!
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
Cute cafe right around the corner from my apartment that I'm so glad I discovered! Very reasonable prices for the authenticity/quality of the food. Unfortunately no space for seating, but it's my go-to for a sandwich, pastry, or coffee on the go!

Syd S.

Yelp
The cashier that resembles a skunk absolutely made my day spectacular. I will never forget her skunk-like features.

Yelp
Terrible place and even worse owner. I had a dentist appt in the area and decided to place an order on mealpal to pick up. After picking it up I brought it back to work with me. After opening it up I realized it was not the correct order but rather a completely different sandwich with ingredients I don't actually eat. When I called and spoke to the owner he started yelling and saying mealpal doesn't pay him anything. Deal with mealpal. Ok clearly this guy has some issues with mealpal but in all fairness, this wasn't mealpal's fault. This was solely on them yet the owner ranted furiously about mealpal for about 3 minutes. This review is simply about the customer service and not about the food. Owner needs some anger management.

Annabelle M.

Yelp
When I lived in France, I ate at least one jambon et beurre sandwich a day (don't judge). So if there's a chance in New York to try new French places, I'll do it any time and day! Le Petit Parisien is a cute little sandwicherie tucked away in East Village. They have quality ingredients for the food, like Camembert and whole-grain mustard. I had the Gainsbourg, which has bone-in cooked ham and compte (able to substitute Camembert). I added arugula and a bit of mustard as an addition and the flavor was delicious! The only thing was that the baguette was a bit hard the other reviews mostly say the bread was very fresh, but it felt a bit stale. Maybe because it's the weekend? Not sure, but it was disappointing. Otherwise, it's worth checking out.
google avatar

Dayi T.

Yelp
This is probably a place I'll never return to. My friends and I ordered three different sandwiches and while the meat and cheeses tasted the bare minimum of "good", the baguettes were the hardest, crustiest motherfuckers we've ever had. They were TINY and skinny too - equal to the amount of maybe a 6 inch sub from Subway but double the price and not even as good. By the time I struggled to finish half of it, it felt like I was eating all of my teeth and had no more appetite or jaw mobility to consume the rest. The customer service was also notably just ok. The lady stared at us looking SUPER conspicuously disgusted and angry. Le Petit's atmosphere was perfect though - shame. Comfy and cute and *quiet* with soft music and the low hum of the AC would be the perfect place to sit and enjoy coffee and study. Too bad the workers freak me out a bit
google avatar

Fay K.

Yelp
Great find on a sleepy block in the East Village. Extremely personable staff and yummy sandwiches. Will certainly return and am spreading the word to my friends.
google avatar

Zoe L.

Yelp
I don't know what their secret ingredient is- perhaps it's love. slappin, smackin, lick lippin delicious. wonderful employees and nutella lattes.

John B.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice. The first time I spent over $30 for two sandwiches and two lemonades. The sandwiches had yellowing kale. So I tried again today. I'm a big fan of giving places another shot. Same deal today. $30 for two sandwiches, again yellowing kale. And it was tucked inside so I wouldn't see it. I actually peel open my sandwiches before I eat them because restaurants are notorious for hiding not-so-fresh ingredients inside. Picture attached. No more Le Petit Parisien.
google avatar

Sean S. B.

Yelp
I am a big fan of the Marie Antoinette and the Gainsbourg! I generally get one of each and eat half and half over two days--the sandwiches hold up surprisingly well in the refrigerator overnight. :-)
google avatar

Davis M.

Yelp
Order this place all the time. Gainsbourg is my go-to but every sandwich we have tried has been enjoyed
google avatar

Launa G.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this quaint little place on accident and found amazing espresso and food! Just like you would find in France.
google avatar

Lucy M.

Yelp
A great little coffee shop for a casual lunch or just for a quick cup of coffee or a pick me up. The gentleman working at the shop is amazing, and funny too! Desserts, sandwiches and coffees are reasonably priced, I had a latte and a pastry, delicious. The sandwiches are named after French figures Charles de Gaulle, Edith Plaf, Brigitte Bardot, etc). Super cute and tucked away, be sure to stop by when you can!

Jeremy G.

Yelp
If you are going to go here get some of the more exotic options, otherwise you are really getting an underwhelming sandwich. I also highly recommend going inside the actual store to get a feel for the vintage Paris vibe.
google avatar

Sarah Rachael W.

Yelp
The family that owns this business used to own the newspaper, Le Petite Parisien, until the war when the Nazis took over the press to publish their propaganda.

Luna M.

Yelp
Le Petit Parisien! The most authentic French sandwiches I've found in a long time outside of France. The Cured Ham. WOW. The bread. WOW. Get the Marie Antoinette as a gift to your tastebuds. Ham. Goat Cheese. Honey. Oh My! I added arugula for some greens and it was a lovely complement to my already delicious sandwich. The server, with a French accent made the whole experience feel all the more authentic, was so friendly and sweet that I want to go back just to enjoy his company. Excited to go back and try a cappuccino and the other pastries Le Petit Parisien has to offer, and trust me... I will be back very soon!

Yelp
Currently suffering from violent food poisoning for the last 18 hours from their spinach pie.
google avatar

Yelp
The sandwiches here are simple and delicious! When you get your sandwich, it just looks like a plain sandwich but what makes the sandwiches here special are the little things they add inside like honey(?) that gives the sandwiches their character. The more you bite in your sandwich, the more delicious it becomes. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Eric A.

Yelp
So any review comparing this place to subway makes me angry - obviously that person has never been out of the city, and likely only eats subway daily. The bread is crunchy, yes, but exactly like in France. And exactly like in France, the sandwich is more about the bread and butter than even the meat. But even the jambon (bone in ham) is spot on! My wife got the saussicon (Napoleon) and it was spot on as well. Excellent ingredients. Bread 5 stars, butter 5 stars, staff 5 stars. Perfect. Best French sandwich outside of France.
