The food here is very well presented and tastes good. Staff are exceptionally nice. I believe they are French and have an obvious passion for what they are doing. One criticism I have is that the menu is very small/limited. So, there is not a whole lot of choice. However, when they do provide is exceptional as the photos show.

Cheese board (15€), wine (29€) and chocolate fondue (10€) were just amazing.. about the mains: the lamb was delicious but for 31€ I expected something more ( I could have feed 5 people at home) and fish was just ok. Tot 112€ Staff were very helpful and great at explaining food

I can't believe we have missed out in this place until now. The place is cosy with great atmosphere and centrally located. Our host Philippe couldn't have been any nicer, you could sense how much he loves bringing out plates of fantastic food and wines to match. The food was delicious, we had the December menu and it did not disappoint. starters were salmon 2 ways, tartare with spicy avocado and smoked with soy & sesame glaze and I had the foie gras, both delicious. We both had the beef with brandy and truffle sauce, dauphinoise potatoes (wrapped in ham) and it was cooked to perfection. Philippe matched up wines based on what we told him we liked and to compliment the food, it was really lovely. To finish we shared a melting chocolate fondant that was sublime. I couldn't recommend Le Petit Pois highly enough.

Google
Small French restaurant it's kinda hidden, one block from eire square. The food is lovely and exquisite. The presentation of the dishes are very good. It has a good wine selection. There are only 4 main dishes, the menu changes every month, they use organic ingredients from locals.

Being back in Galway Looking for something new This place jumped out at us Ticking boxes, quite a few It's nice to get a French greeting That makes you feel like you are there Walking into a Parisian restaurant From the front door you know they care We love French food The passion is in the detail We came with high expectations They certainly didn't fail We were not here for long Just two courses to start the night We went for main course and dessert The menu was a true delight Presenting wonderful choices The menu is short but sweet Changed every month Now that is no mean feat We went for steak and chicken And we were treated to a small bite A savoury panna cotta That got us started off just right The steak was beautifully presented The chicken was just divine Both cooked to perfection This place was doing just fine Chocolate fondant and almond crumble Dessert certainly followed suit The fondant oozed delightfully This place continued to overshoot I can't forget the service It really was second to none Being served by co-owner Philippe Who combined being helpful with fun A wonderful experience We will surely go back some day Galway now has this gem That stands out in every way

Yelp
Slightly hidden in the heart of Galway City... but so worth it. Sensory overload! Absolutely amazing. The food, the wine, the service... all exquisite! Not stuffy, but fun, quirky, very French... very delicious. Attention to detail. Every bite a perfect flavor. Cooking done with love! To miss this would be a sin. Definitely try the paired menu, and if you are unsure just let your waiter make a suggestion... you cannot go wrong.

Yelp
We stopped in for a light snack and a glass of wine. We were really impressed with how casual, clean, well lit, and relaxed the atmosphere was. To top it off, the staff was super friendly and helpful. They suggested great wine pairings and they're food was fresh and flavorful. If you're in Galway, and if you're looking for a break from the overly touristy bars, please checkout Le Petit Pois. I highly recommend the atmosphere, the lovely people who welcome you, the food and the wine.

Yelp
An amazing meal! Three courses - foie gras, scallops, and coffee/ chocolate pastry dessert. They have option to pair wine with each course which I highly recommend. Each part was complex and delicious :) Waiter was outstanding!

Yelp
To say this place is amazing is truly an understatement. Chef Michelle is one of the most incredible chefs I have come a crossed. I can't wait to go back to Galway to see what her next dish will be. I highly recommend letting the staff choose your wine the staff are sommeliers and can choose the best compliment to your meal.

Yelp
In one word: delicious! Le Petit Pois is a small, but cozy space. Traditional French fare is the order for here and quite well plated and delicious. The wine pairings were also very good. Its a great place for traditional French cuisine in the heart of Galway. Worth a stop.

Yelp
We needed a place to relax and chill out after driving from Dublin to Galway. Le Petit Pois was a perfect location. A small restaurant upstairs, the service was impeccable, food delicious, and the space intimate. What a find!

Yelp
My husband and I had dinner here and absolutely loved it! The ambiance was great, the service phenomenal, and the food and wine pairing was amazing! We loved each and every dish, and we loved the experience with the sommelier (who is also the owner). We will definitely be back here the next time we are in Galway!

Yelp
Loved it here. Food, service, wine recommendations absolutely fantastic. Small restaurant so would definitely need to book. Will go back again when next in Galway. I had butternut squash soup for starter, scallops for mains and banoffee for dessert. My husband had blackpudding for starter, steak for mains and banoffee for dessert each with recommended wines. We loved and enjoyed everything.

Yelp
This is our first time in Ireland. We looked up where to eat and this restaurant came up. It's excellent. Good quality including well balanced flavors.

Yelp
My husband and I had a fabulous time and meal at Le Petit Pois last night. It is run by a French couple and a French waiter. The owner, and sommelier, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. He brought up multiple bottles with each meal to tell us about them and then let us try the wines. The food was fabulous. They create a new menu every two weeks. I had the foie gras for appetizer and a vegetarian dinner of vegetables and quinoa... Sounds boring but was so delicious... Even for someone who normally orders duck or meat in a restaurant. The dessert, which we weren't going to order but just had to after trying everything else, was also fabulous. I had the pear sorbet and meringue. Galway needed a restaurant like this... Delicious french food. I'm from New York and so really was yearning for a french bistro... And this certainly fit the bill.

Yelp
First of all, I was so so happy I got a booking here very last minute! Thank you, Phillipe, for getting a table for us! I had heard a lot about Le Petit Pois before coming for holiday and I was eager to try. Ireland, and Galway especially, is notorious for poor service; however, the service here is the best in Galway, bar-none. All of the servers work together to ensure every table is having a great experience and have everything they need--proactively rather than reactively. I chose the three course menu with wine pairing. My sommelier made really lovely suggestions--the Syrah for my first course was very delicious. He asked me my preferences and made suggestions for me as the evening went on, I was very pleased with the wine selections and appreciated the attention to detail. For my first course I had a black pudding and potato and apple gratin, which was very light and delicious--the apple paired with the slight spice of the black pudding beautifully. My boyfriend had the foie gras, and while I'm typically not a fan of foie gras, I would suggest you try if it's on the menu--very light and creamy. The mains were awesome--my lamb chops were cooked perfectly. Now, this is the stage where I had my ONLY complaint, and it's not even a complaint really... I wish more vegetables were served with the mains. I had 5 green beans, and my boyfriend and a piece of asparagus cut in half. It's not a massive deal at all because I was properly full when I left, but if you were only coming for a main and a glass of wine I would think you'd leave wanting more. However, my 5 greens were delicious so no problems there! For dessert I had the chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream... looking back I wish I had just gotten the ice cream. It is phenomenal. I don't know how Michele makes that ice cream, but it is so delicious--an absolute must. My boyfriend got the rookies cheeseboard... be warned... the cheeseboard is for rookies that already like French cheeses. There are several stronger cheeses on the board and while I thought they were lovely, my boyfriend (a confessed fan of smoked cheddar...ick) wasn't sure about some of the cheeses. Our bill for 3 courses each and 4 glasses of wine was just over €100, which is more than reasonable for the excellence Le Petit Pois provides! Thank you so much for the lovely meal and evening! I can't wait to come back! https://www.tripadvisor.ie/ShowUserReviews-g186609-d8401814-r396162025-Le_Petit_Pois-Galway_County_Galway_Western_Ireland.html#

Yelp
A hidden gem. I really don't want to tell anyone about this place, but it deserves much fanfare. Have been here several times over the last couple years. Perfectly set in a small upstairs locale down a narrow outdoor patio, the owner knows his locally sourced food and primarily French wines. Just describe what you like and he'll pour it for you. The food is elegant, quite tasty, and art. Run, don't walk, to this restaurant! Even more special---if you call and make reservations for the Wednesday wine tasting, you and a half dozen others will get an hour long private education before the restaurant opens for the night. Galway has hit gold.

Yelp
Le Petit Pois was amazing. The food was fantastic and the staff was so warm, knowledgeable and caring. Everyone in our party loved each dish - appetizer, main and dessert. Another highlight was the sommelier and his recommendations for wine. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
