This seemed like a nice place so we booked a table. The place wasn’t very crowded and most people ate outside (we were a nit cold so we asked for a table inside). About the food, we had a plate of cheese - very good and fulfilling; the special honey and compote was amazing. Then, the gnocchi - very nice and soft -, the meat with truffle was a bit disappointing. The truffle didn’t have any flavour and actually seemed dry and charred. The chessecake was nothing special. It seems like a nice place to have a meal during the day.

We stayed overnight in the Airbnb on this property, enjoyed dinner on site at their restaurant and joined the cooking class the following day. Without a doubt, this was an absolute highlight of our stay in Tuscany. Every morsel from breakfast to the cooking class to the dinner meal was perfection. If you want an eyes-rolling-to-the-back-of-your-head experience, please stay here, eat here and Enjoy.

Unfortunately, this was our least favorite dinner in Tuscany. The food, service, and overall experience just didn’t meet the standard we experienced elsewhere during our trip. While the setting was nice, the meal lacked the quality and warmth we had come to expect in the region. Hoping this was just an off night, but overall it was a disappointing experience for us.

We went to this restaurant based on the beautiful location and the photos on Google maps. The wine was great, the service was good but unfortunately whilst eating my pasta tonight it had plastic packaging in it. I pulled it out my throat and it was a long piece of plastic. The waitress was horrified and rushed to the kitchen to speak to the chef. She said it was some food packaging that had blown into the dish whilst cooking. She was apologetic and they made me a fresh dish but unfortunately once you experience that, it ruins the experience. I would oh hoped that the restaurant would have taken the dish off the bill as a small gesture but instead they did not. We paid the bill in full and I spoke to whom I think was the manager and just explained my disappointment. He did not even apologise. If I had attempted to swallow the plastic or given my 8 month old baby the pasta dish, I think it would have been a different story. I also think this does make you wonder if the plastic was from packaging from the pasta and that it wasn’t made fresh. Anyway, I personally would not go back and I would warn any parents eating later when it’s dark to check the food and make sure this doesn’t happen again. I also think the restaurant and staff should think about how they could rectify issues like this better and perhaps apologising to their customers.

We’ve always had great dining experiences at Le Pietre Vive over the past ten years. The farm produces saffron, honey, olive oil and wine. The menu focuses on meat options, charcuterie plates of meat and pecorino cheese, and fresh salads and vegetables. The setting is beautiful - the buildings and surrounding landscape. Service is friendly and efficient.

Excellent meal and service! The food was delicious and everything was so fresh and delicious. The restaurant is set across from a field of sunflowers and has a lovely outdoor area for seating. Inside is cozy and charming. Staff was very friendly and provided excellent service.

Came here for dinner with my family while on vacation in June. Incredible food and excellent service. Loved it so much we came back again the next night. Highly recommend!

Food was very good once things got started. Had a reservation, seated right away with water and then no one talked to us for 40 minutes. Food was worth the wait if you have the time.

Yelp
Well we were shut out on our 1st and 2nd choices for dinner on a fall Friday night in Siena. We were fortunate enough to get an 8:30 pm reso at Le Pietre Vive. Lucky for us because it was our best meal in our 4 nights stay here. The food was fabulous The meat and cheese tray starter was great , the ravioli, pici Pepe were also very very good and the wild bore puttanesca and beef strips with roasted potatoes were wonderful as well. The young wait staff was friendly , caring and efficient and restaurant was elegant to say the least. The lighting was a bit bright and could have been dimmer but overall an excellent experience !!

Yelp
We had such a great experience at le pietre vive. The steak was out of this world. I had the eggplant which was also very good. All the way down to the dessert was excellent. Would highly recommend this place and it was a nice change of pace from getting dinner in the city. Incredible view!

Yelp
This restaurant is amazing! We came here because there weren't any seats available in other restaurants but our experience here was by far our best in Italy. This is a very cute farm side restaurant and it is somewhat hard to find at night. This place was very beautiful and serene and they also use homemade and local ingredients in all of their food. The service was great and the waiters were friendly and patient. The food was also amazing! By far the most memorable dish we had was the Fiorentina steak which was remarkable. If you are in the area, I strongly recommend stopping by for dinner. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Siena is a great destination in Italy. The area is lush, green and teaming with the subtle aroma of olive trees and wine vineyards. The owner of an awesome Castle and B&B, Castello le Quattro Torra also operates an upscale farm to table eatery, Le Pietre Vive. The restaurant sits east of Siena. GPS and phone signals can be sparse along the route. After a 20-25 minute drive, you'll turn onto a gravel covered road that stretches a mile or so to the restaurant and farm. The setting is calming and visually appealing. Perfect tables are offered both inside and out. I'm the early evening, opt for a cloth covered table on the beautiful lawn. The Tuscan hills, the farm and sunsets are awesome. The menu offers a variety. You might consider the Florentine T Bone. It's ample and flavorful. The service is a bit relaxed, so have another glass of wine and enjoy the atmosphere. If in the Siena vicinity, be sure to place Le Pietre Vie on the agenda. You won't regret it.

Yelp
An amazing find during our stay in Tuscany. Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were so excited that they did! We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The views from the outdoor area were gorgeous. The wait staff were great and made great recommendations. We ordered a bottle of delicious Chianti to start. The pasta was phenomenal (as expected) and loaded with the freshest truffle I have tasted during our trip. Being that we were in Tuscany, ordering steak was a must. I ordered steak with truffle and my fiancé got the Osso Bucco. Our entire meal was delicious! Our hotel also recommended that we take a cooking class here. We retuned the following day and had the pleasure of taking a course with Chef Alberto. He was awesome and helped us understand the beauty of Tuscan cuisine. The best part of the class was making our own pasta. I loved how we were able to really understand the science of cooking and how the flavors worked together. The best part is they gave us recipes for everything that was made! Of course, we got to also enjoy everything that was cooked with the rest of the people that were in the class. It was a really amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

Yelp
COME HERE! JUST DO IT! Are you looking for picturesque tuscan scenery & a life changing meal? Then eat here! Hands down the best food experience I've had in all of Europe. We booked this place through Air B&B, not aware of the incredible restaurant. When we stayed in Siena we even drove back to eat here (just a short 15/20 minute drive from Siena city center). Everything is made from scratch with fresh and local ingredients. The family who owns the farm & the staff is also incredibly hospitable and kind, doing everything to make sure your experience is perfect.

Yelp
Waited for over 20mins, asked for at least 3 times for the order, and still no one comes. Maybe because we are the only asian foreigners, so we got to wait until everyone else ordered first? Not sure about the food yet, finger crossed if we could get it in 30mins... but the service really makes me uncomfortable here

Yelp
A superb meal with all fresh ingredients from the farm on which this restaurant sits. The pasta is homemade too and delicious. We had the tortelli stuffed with ricotta and tagliatelle with onions, bacon and cheese. Large wine list Very friendly staff who all spoke English. The restaurant is a little difficult to find, especially at night. It is down a long dirt road with no lights. As of the date of my post, the location in google maps is slightly off. Instead, enter the exact GPS coordinates into google maps, which are 43.314711, 11.438044 Also, look for the sign that will point you in the right direction.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful meal at this restaurant. The power was out so they could not make many of their dishes, but of the ones we ate were delicious. For starters, we had an meat and cheese antipasto with grilled veges and homemade honey. Then, I had a gnocchi and she had a truffle ravioli stuff with ricotta cheese. Our desserts were a peach cream dish and a farm style tiramisu. It was a memoriable setting and we'll be talking about this meal for years to come.

Yelp
We took a cooking class here during our honeymoon and very much enjoyed it! We learned how to make: tiramisu, handmade pasta, chicken and so much more! They had great wine to go along with lunch and were great instructors!

Yelp
Hidden away in the farmland about 20 minutes east from the center of Siena lies a charming farmhouse restaurant serving classic Italian fare using only local ingredients. And I do mean hidden--Google knew the location but tried to take us through a private road and we had to double back, so look for the blue sign before turning off the highway onto any dirt roads. The beef tartare was FANTASTIC--knife-chopped, seasoned to perfection, and a generous portion to boot. The pici (essentially a thick spaghetti) was homemade and had just the right bite, and the osso buco was melt-in-your mouth delicious! They serve tasty ham/crostini for the cover charge and many dishes are rich, so probably one appetizer, one primi, and one secondi will be plenty for the average couple to share. Get the grilled vegetables if you want something to cut the richness, and then try to still have room for dessert. My only criticism is that the service was pretty slow once they got busy (mostly a function of too many tables for just one server) so don't go expecting a quick meal. Prices are REALLY fair though and the food was so good we ate there two nights in a row!

Yelp
I've been home from Italy for a week and I cannot stop thinking of my two days cooking class with Nonna Ciana and Heather. I've come home and purchased just about everything I need to duplicate the meals we made together. We worked around the large kitchen table, all together. Got to know the other attendees, learned a lot about Italian basics. We also stayed in the apartment right at the farm, with lovely breakfasts and also had a great meal the restaurant. This was such a lovely way to begin a Tuscan adventure with my sisters and niece...I will never forget it.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences of my life! (And I am 57!). Since it was summer, we ate on the lawn, under the stars...the perfect backdrop for an incredible evening! The staff was warm & friendly. We ordered the Italian charcuterie, which is served with local meats and cheeses and the most amazing saffron honey! We also enjoyed several different fresh pasta dishes as well as their Steak Florentine. AMAZING!! We finished off our meal with a local red wine, grappa, cappuccino, tiramisu, and a to-die-for chocolate cake. The evening was relaxed, but very special. I will never forget the perfect evening I spent here, and hope I can visit again.
