6 Sustainable Winery Resorts in Italy

"Located near the south shore of Lake Iseo in Franciacorta, this agriturismo is oriented around Metodo Classico sparkling wines produced on 24 acres farmed organically. The hospitality emphasizes seasonal, locally sourced ingredients served on a terrace or in the dining room, and rooms are furnished in a simple farmhouse style—an understated base for exploring the lake, nearby islands, and the region’s historic sites after sampling the estate’s traditional-method bubbles." - Lauren Mowery

Stayed a single night at this vineyard agriturismo and dined at its lovely restaurant. Frontdesk and restaurant staff professional and helpful. Easy to find with clearly marked signs and large safe parking lot. Very large room with comfortable bedding, large bathroom with shower, desk, and large soft chair. Would be an even more wonderful stay with warmer weather, but just fine for us in October. Breakfast generous. Front desk addressed initial challenges with Wifi promptly. Quiet sleep and view of vineyards.

View from room over vineyard to mountains surrounding Lake Iseo, absolutely beautiful. Room spacious and rustic styled with terracotta tiled floor and wooden beamed ceiling. Breakfast good too. Fantastic area for cycling and walking the hills above Lake Iseo.

We had a wedding celebration at Le Quattro Terre in the middle of April. We had a ceremony, big aperitivo, dinner and dessert menu following with party. We and our guests enjoyed our special day a lot! Everything was very well-organized, food was very delicious (considering all options: vegan, vegetarian, no pork menu). Moreover, we had a great support from event manager Lidia. She helped us a lot to organize everything the way we always imagined. Our rooms were clean, very luxurious and spacious with a beautiful view over vineyard and mountains. Highly recommended place for a big celebrations as well as evening out. We are very happy that we chose Le Quattro Terre for our wedding. Thank you very much!

We stayed one night on the way over to Lake Garda. Welcomed with a glass.of the house white wine and then had an excellent meal. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. The bedroom was large but plain, but don't let that our you off. As someone else said in a review the breakfast is fairly simple however that is the same.in many Italian hotels. I would recommend. They said we were only the second couple to visit from UK this year.

Beatuiful location. The staff is so kind. The room are large, clean, and well equipped (only notethere are not thea and hotter in the rooom). The garden is very peacefull.||The retaurant proposes local reinterpreted course. The quality is high, same for their wines. I had a risotto zafferano e liquerizia and was a fantastic discover.

This is a nice place to stay. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view over woods, fields, and mountains. The hotel has a large parking lot, and the staff is helpful (although they speak limited English). Breakfast was good, if not extensive. I didn't have occasion to try the dinner. Unfortunately they have no private shuttle, and taxi service is somewhat limited.

Myself, my husband and another couple stayed four nights at Le Quattro Terre in July. I cannot say enough about this property, the owners and staff and how they've created a cozy, comfortable yet elegant experience for their guests. Giorgio, the owner, escorted us for a casual, impromptu tour of the winery while Lidia, customer service extraordinaire, took care of us from arrival to departure. From delicious morning cappuccinos to assistance with transportation for excursions to a last minute request to have dinner served on the veranda, Lidia and her team gave 100% effort to make sure our stay was a memorable one. Outside of the service, the property is tranquil and a perfect place to "reset." Abundant nooks surround the property for you to take in the countryside and enjoy the quiet solitude. The restaurant served delicious, beautifully prepared foods in a blissful setting overlooking the property. I would HIGHLY recommend Le Quattro Terre with just a caveat to make sure you have a car if you choose to leave the property. Taxis are very limited in Corte Franca AND the surrounding towns so having your own transportation is necessary to explore the lake and neighboring towns.

Awful Hotel, We totally regret staying here. A no go for sure next time. Worst experience ever!!! We arrived on a Saturday and the receptionist ( which he was quite helpful) he asked us to settle the bill straight away because the following days no receptionist will be available, and all this came to a price of our stay!! When it comes to breakfast with a no selection at all and for the whole 3 days it was always the same, ( cold croissants, very little scrambled eggs, a few baked sausages and the overcooked fried bacon was the worst of all ) they close the breakfast by 09:30am . When it comes to the room, we even had unexpected visitors inside, ladybirds and other insects coming out of every corner and hanging on the walls and to the windows!! Be aware of this hotel, luckily it was a short stay for us and we carried on with our journey!
