We spent a weekend in Paris and this was my Parisian friend recommendation. Located in the Latin Quarter it’s seems like the place where tourists don’t often find themselves but absolutely should. We tasted starter, mains and dessert and we enjoyed absolutely everything to the last bit. Family owned, the main specialty reminds you of something home cooked. They didn’t have any English menus but the service was great and he took lots of time to explain. Hopefully we will have the chance to come visit again soon!

What an incredible dining experience this turned out to be! Our server Nicolas truly went above and beyond to ensure we had the best service possible. The atmosphere was super laid back, with an old vinyl record player, and cool artwork on the walls. There was no AC and it was a bit warm, but the owner and server Nicolas brought us a nice fan to help with it. The food was just amazing, as evey dish was made of fresh ingredients. Our favorites were the pork and duck stuffed cabbage and the Cassoulet! The portions were very generous, and the presentation was very nice. The wines were all delicious, and well priced. For desserts, everyone of them was not too heavy and really good. We loved every minute there, thanks to Nicolas and his outstanding customer service skills! Merci Mille fois!!!!

Le Refuge du Passe is the quintessential Parisian bistro known for its old-school French cooking. The interior is so cozy and cute, setting the perfect stage to enjoy classic French dishes. We savored the Small Roasted Camembert with Honey and Herbs, indulged in the Cassoulet with Duck Confit, and finished with the delightful Tarte Tatin This classic French dessert of caramelized apples and buttery, flaky pastry topped with creamy ice cream was the perfect ending to our meal!

Nicholas was the most friendly server. The food tasted phenomenal and was made was good ingredients. We had a party of four and every one of us left stuffed and happy. Highly recommend!

Really cute place! I visited for dinner on a Wednesday night. It was very quiet, intimate (no music which was unusual but nice as it was raining and we could hear the rain from outside). The food is nice but what I loved the most was the service, a lovely guy from Burgundy looked after us, and the decor! The restaurant is super cute. I’ve posted a couple of pictures

Google
Such a cute neighbourhood restaurant for a quintessential French meal without the tourists, queues and overpriced mediocre food. It’s worth travelling to if you are looking for classic, family French food in a sweet romantic spot - which is surprisingly hard to find in Paris. We enjoyed a great steak and shared a tart tatin and loved the atmosphere. Thank you to the lovely owner and waiter.

Google
Great dinner with traditional French food, cozy restaurant for who’s looking for an intimate place with authentic taste in Latin quarter of Paris. Honorable mention is for Nicolas, the owner, who is very kind and contribute in a personal way to overall atmosphere. I personally suggest Camembert with honey and Chef Cassoulet (must be eaten with bread to enjoy its full potential!)

Nothing authentic. It is pretending, but casulette was poor. Not even crust on the top. Instead of real toulose sausage it was some different one. Wine list short and overexpensive. Nothing special. Will never come back. No way. Poor rate between quality and price.

Yelp
This place gets the five star bump for the perfect ambiance, the delicious food from a true family run business and the fact that they made room ten of us! Located at the end of a quiet street, just down from a busy intersection, this little restaurant encompassed everything we were hoping to find during our trip to Paris. We had some friends that we had not seen in 15 years, it flew in for the weekend to hang out, and we wanted to eat somewhere that would be memorable. This was absolutely! With 10 of us eating here, and wanting to try as many things as possible, we literally ordered one of everything on the menu. The cheese related appetizers stood out, the cabbage/meat dish was delicious and the cassoulet was phenomenal! The desserts were equally satisfying and being able to share is a large group was a real plus. This was the perfect spot to have an intimate and delicious French dinner with friends and family. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Yelp
This was the best experience i've ever had in a restaurant in Paris, the atmosphere is like home and the food comes out fast and is delicious. The servers are the most kind people i've come across and really make you feel at home. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Well done !!! A nice place with a nice ambiance. I really liked their food and it was amazing. Really French HomeStyle cuisine. It's strange that it didn't have a lot of reviews. Check it out and you be the judge.

Yelp
A wonderful last meal in Paris, big thanks to the chef and our waiter Mike. The cassoulet was sublimely wonderful, with a fresh 2017 Brouilly. A one of a kind restaurant. I would recommend this place! Chapeaux!

Yelp
some of the best southern french i've had in Paris. classic and modern trio jazz (internet radio) and 30's-60's nostalgia. server/manager/barman Damien is a delight; warm, friendly and sincere. ENTREES --cassolette of mussels. must have been 50 mussels in that little cup. each one a tasty bite. --trio of egg cups, each over creme fraiche with herbs and topped with cheese, then baked. try this at home! PLATS --cassoulet (i know, in the middle of July, but i couldn't resist). super thick cut of bacon cooked to perfection, like a pork roast. duck breast delectably moist and rich. sausage left behind to save room for those profiteroles! --roast pork. reduction sauce is nothing less than perrfection. potato a bit overcooked. DESSERT --baked mirabelle plums (cross between prune and apricot), served flambe' with a scoop of that dark yellow vanilla ice creme. I think back home they call it French Vanilla. OMG. ----tarte tartin avec creme fraiche DIGESTIF --calvados (cognac-like apple liqueur)

Yelp
A local restaurant worth a detour. Our party of four (oncluding a french local) each had a different plat and all were declared superb. I finished with a sublime tarte tatin, and the other deserts included excellent profiteroles. The various fixed price menus are very reasonable (E17 for plat + desert) , especially if you just have a pitcher of the house wine, which is fine unless you're a snob! A lovely, quietly elegant but not at all stuffy atmosphere. We'll be back.

Yelp
Loved, loved this wonderful restaurant. Great food and ambiance! And thank you, Mike, for making our last evening in Paris a special one. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We went last Friday with some friends. In general the food was good except for the entrée, I ordered a camembert rotî but it was super salty. For main course I ordered the duck casserole, that was really good. The waitress was super rude and her lack of patience made us feel super uncomfortable as we didn't understand some of the plates on the menu (the english version was not very clear). Finally, the restaurant didn't have enough ventilation, it felt very hot, the fan they had didn't work well.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best French meals we have experienced in Paris, exactly what I was looking for, great service too! Of course it's going to take longer than usual this isn't McDonald's ! But it is meant to be enjoyed slowly along with the bread, wine and terrific ambiance. The foie gras starter was heavenly and perfectly balanced with the mango and the chicken ragu was hearty and flavorful.

Yelp
Great restaurant in Paris. Friendly owner/waiter who was very helpful with non-french speakers. Aware of Gluten Free issues and helpful in menu decisions. Food was amazing. So good we went there twice!
