Review of Réalis de Sainte Ser – Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Service||||We stayed one night at Réalis de Sainte Ser, drawn by its stunning location—and in that regard, it absolutely delivers. Nestled in a beautiful part of Provence, the setting is serene and picturesque, which does help justify the premium price point of over €200 per night.||||However, the hotel itself didn’t live up to expectations. The facilities are quite tired, and the rooms are no better than what you’d find at an Ibis—not what you'd expect from a boutique hotel. Certain parts of the property are noticeably scruffy, which detracts from the overall experience.||||Dinner was the highlight of our stay. The food was excellent—beautifully presented and clearly the work of a talented chef. Prices were higher than what we experienced in the Luberon, which was surprising, but the quality made it worthwhile.||||That said, the service left a lot to be desired. Staff can be abrupt, and the hotel seems to operate with a set of rigid rules that prioritize staff convenience over guest comfort. For example, the bar/chill-out area is a popular evening spot, attracting over 20 cars despite the hotel having only 8 rooms. Comfortable seating is reserved by these outside visitors, leaving paying guests without access—even just for a pre-dinner drink. We were firmly told where to sit by Laurent, who was particularly forceful, despite many of the preferred seats remaining empty long after we left.||||We raised our concerns with the receptionist upon departure, only to be confronted by Laurent in the car park in front of other staff. He was aggressive and dismissive, unwilling to accept any feedback. It was an uncomfortable and frankly unacceptable end to our stay, especially after spending over €400 on the room and dinner.||||In summary: come for the views and the food, but don’t expect boutique-level comfort or service. At this price point, the lack of hospitality and flexibility is hard to overlook.
