It was my last meal before leaving Paris and was recommended this restaurant by a friend. I am so glad I came because the food was so good it made me not want to eat anything else for the rest of the day; to savour the flavours for as long as possible. Thank you to the lovely hostesses who were so patient with me and for helping me choose what dishes to order as someone eagerly wanting to try the local cuisine. Do have the foie gras if you can; it was the highlight for me.

Ginormous Salads! Holy hell, im sitting here writing this, feeling like a beached whale. I was not prepared. The food is amazing, the service is quick and friendly. The amenities are clean, and the general atmosphere is charming. This was a very good decision.

What a great place to have lunch and people watch! We got the salads and they were amazing!! I love that the salad had the potatoes on top and all the items on the salad lightly dressed the salad without adding anything else. We tried the foie gras and it was so delicious. I would go here again and again if I lived in Paris!

This restaurant was absolutely amazing. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The food was delivered very fast and tasted delicious! I highly recommend coming to this restaurant if you are in this area, definitely worth it! Will be coming back once I am in Paris again.

They have pretty cheap lunch menu. I have allergies and they changed food for me I really appreciate that. The drinks there are also good and the service is kind and reliable.

We found this little gem a few minutes away from the main tourist area. A small French bistro. Very cosy, very welcoming staff and atmosphere. We tried the foie gras pate and country style terrain, which was amazing, served with freshly cut baguette, you can't go wrong. The snails were yumm. Wee took them for the novelty of it. Then we ordered the French onion soup, Wow! It was so tasty, just the right amount of cheese and crouton, and the broth was full of flavour and delicious. The streak tartare was one of the nicest we've eaten on our tri. Itt was well seasoned. Then we shared a creme brùlée, one of the I've definitely had. Full of body, and vanilla. Perfect sugar crust and they weren't shy on the amount of custard you got either. The staff were extremely friendly and recommended some very nice wines for us to try also.

Very good and somehow less expansive food than in other upscale restaurants and brasseries in Paris. Service was fast and polite.

Yelp
I really liked the food here. We went on a busy night for our farewell dinner. It was a small cozy place! The service was okay, and the portions of the food were good. For starter I had the Boucheé a la reine with diced bacon and mushroom sau- it was good. I really liked it. For the main I had Sliced beef with gratin dauphinois! I have no regrets and felt pretty full. My desert was the melting chocolate cake- so good!

Yelp
Food was good. Beef was kinda chewy but I think that's the standard here in Paris lol. So I'm not going to ding them. The bread was very very good! The escargot was perfectly buttery. Chablis was very light. No fruity notes but I did have beef so maybe it overtook the flavor notes. Standard glass bottles of cola and unlimited bread. Was very good for a service continu restaurant in Paris while I was running late from my excursions. Would recommend while in montmarte

Yelp
So good, we went back a second time! Their giant salads are really too much - but who cares? They're covered in fried potatoes that are perfect. My friend ordered the 1/2 chicken and loved that too. Friendly service and highest recommendation.

Yelp
We gave this place a try as it was recommended by our tour guide, and what a disappointment. When we asked what was recommended the server suggested salads... The steak was not medium, it was rare. The blood diluted the already very thin and unflavorful sauce. Served with unseasoned green beans and the potato gratin which was just thin slice fried potatoes without the traditional sauces. On the plus side, it was cheap, so at least you get what you pay for. Should have listened and gotten a salad

Yelp
Went to Montmartre again a few weeks ago now, could even have been before Christmas, to buy some more material for the house in England...so decided to pop in here for a late lunch, well after 2pm - as usual! And suddenly, talking to the the waiter, realised that there are 2 sister restos (correction below) Anyway, we ordered the confit and St Chinian - ok, ok again! we like confit....but it was really good. Seriously crowded but we weren't in any hurry...people were being turned away even as late as that. I think you would need to book otherwise to be sure of getting in, especially a larger party Well worth it *************************** Sorry, sorry, sorry everyone...Posted to sister resto up the road at Abbesses in error on 29/10/18, duh!!! After a long morning traipsing around Montmatre getting some material for the dining room chairs (if you need any material of any kind, then Reine, that's the place to go or anywhere around there)...we collapsed into Le Relais Gascon for lunch Now this was nice; not so busy mid afternoon on a Saturday thankfully...a couple of confit & pommes sarladaises, washed down with a 50cl of St Chinian. Saving of course just a little to accompany a decent cheese platter (though, unfortunately, you could clearly see the chalky result of the soft cheeses being kept in the fridge). Good service; very pleasant, enjoyable, no rush A place to return to

Yelp
I came here with my friend Z. for a late lunch while exploring Montmatre. We were able to snatch one of the small tables outside, so we got to people-watch while eating. Since I had read about their amazing salads, I decided to order the Salade Océane which features smoked salmon, small shrimp, avocado and their signature fried potatoes, of course. The portion size was quite generous and therefore appropriate for the price of 15 EUR. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, but the real star of the dish were the garlicky potatoes. They were absolutely delicious! My friend went with the plate du jour which was rice with salmon, followed by a dessert with coffee. The main dish was nothing to write home about. The portion size was on the smaller side and the dish itself rather bland. The dessert however was quite nice. A tiramisu-like chocolate dish with some fruit that looked appealing and tasted well.

Yelp
This is the only restaurant we visited twice during our two weeks in Paris. On our first night we were recommended to go to Le Basilic by our home exchange partner but they had no seating available outside so we ended up across the street at Le Relais Gascon. I can't exactly recall what we ordered that first time. I know I had roast chicken with delicious thinly sliced, garlicky, fried potatoes on the side and tarte tatin for dessert. It just seemed like a dream dining al fresco in Paris under the setting sun at around 9:30, enjoying some wine, and catching up with my partner who'd joined me from Munich where he'd been studying German the last two weeks. On that night I noticed a lot of other customers enjoying a big salad (Seinfeld anyone?) topped with the same delicious potatoes and wished I'd ordered that instead. So on another night when we'd had a big lunch during the day--or maybe it was one of the many late afternoon baguette indulgences with some cheese and wine--we thought we should have salad for dinner and ended up back at Le Relais. Knowing you're going to have a huge salad topped with a hot mound of thinly sliced fried potatoes does not in any way equate to a light dinner. We knew we weren't even kidding ourselves: we were there for the potatoes and using the salad as cover. Brian ordered his usual smoked salmon salad and I ordered the Nicoise salad, which surprising to me comes with canned corn in France. Contrary to what I'd heard at home, the French don't actually mind eating corn as long it is separated from the cob. The French don't do doggie bags either but that's really what this situation called for. This is the only place we ate where a review could truly state as a selling point that "the portions are huge." That concept is so important to many Americans who unfortunately value portion size over how good the food actually is. At Le Relais you get both in good measure and being the American that I am, I--as well as many others--can't rave about the big salad enough. It's quite a transformational experience for many according to numerous reviews of the other Gascon, also in Montmartre! Even though I was full after eating about half of the salad and potatoes, I of course kept eating so I could get some much needed "vegetables" down my gullet. I left about a quarter of my salad in the bowl and felt that was acceptable and no insult to the chef. We skipped dessert that evening since we were eating "light" for dinner. Just a couple of espressos and we were on our way, two very satisfied customers. We then took a post dinner stroll up to Sacre Coeur to take in the night view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower all lit up. Another end to a great day!

Yelp
One of many little French cafes near my hotel this was my second stop after the last charming little place was playing awful club music inside! I'd say this was "fine" -- ambiance was typical and street traffic not as heavy as some (narrow sidewalk). The French onion soup was beautiful but with thinner broth than I prefer. Service was typical but very pleasant.

Yelp
I don't like climbing hills but I liked the food here so whatever, it was worth it! I liked the drinks also, very creative and fun. Would recommend.

Yelp
This place is a complete joke. I'm gobsmacked how Yelp, TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet can rate this place so highly. I've come to the conclusion the positive reviews are bought or really stupid tourists have never eaten out and give generous reviews. So let's get on with the review... For dinner tonight, we ordered the fixed price menu at €17.50. The appetizers were hilarious: improperly hard boiled egg and mayo; herring and bland potatoes with extra bland. At least the herring was good. Next was our chicken and steak ribeye. Both dry, tough and tasteless. I doused my steak in salt and pepper for some taste. I can cook better than this with my eyes closed - calling myself an amateur cook would be a great compliment to me. These guys didn't even try. How did this place get a mention in the published guide of Lonely Planet?!? Seriously!!! We come from Toronto where the worst place in our city wouldn't serve this garbage. We are in Paris? Dessert: grocery-store-bought lemon pie and grocery store whipped cream. At least the creme brûlée was decent and flamed properly. Atmosphere: could use dimmers on the lights and a proper sound system. I didn't care for the American radio station playing on cellphone quality speakers. Also, what's up with the staff carelessly breaking dishes?? Maybe it's a comedy act we had mistaken for a restaurant.

Yelp
So I was nervous about trying french food, but this restaurant banished any hesitation I may have had. It was phenomenal! Forgive my lack of culture, but I'm not sure exactly what the things I had for dinner were called. But I started with this delightful little puff pastry filled with mushrooms cream and bacon which was delicious. For the entree I had beef in a sauce with string beans and a stack of potatoes au gratin. Perfection! Dinner was followed by a chocolate cake with the most delicious tasting vanilla ice cream I've ever had. The atmosphere was so Paresian and I felt super cool. However, if you are american and are accustomed to cold drinks you may want to ask for a cup of ice as they do not serve drinks with it. The neighborhood where this restaurant is situated is lovely also, so be sure to walk off your dinner by checking out all the great shopping!

Yelp
I came here for dinner my first night in Paris and was expecting something magical but instead felt pretty average. I brought a huge appetite because I had been traveling all day and had barely eaten. We ordered the fixed menu which was an appetizer, entree and dessert. The appetizer was a mushroom and bacon puff pastry which definitely needed seasoning but was edible. The second course was chopped steak, potatoes I gratin and French fries. I'm not sure why we needed that many varieties of potatoes but both types were very tasty. The beef and the sauce it was covered in didn't taste very fresh and almost reminded me of something I could get in a school cafeteria aka not the best. Finally for dessert we had chocolate lava cakes and although it was very chocolate-y, I was expecting more for Parisian dessert. Overall the food was just eh but I'm giving them 4 stars because the service was excellent and the ambience was definitely Parisian. The staff was so friendly, they spoke English and everything was prepared so fast; it was exactly what we needed after a long day of traveling. It is in walking distance from the neighborhood around Moulin Rouge and Montmartre so I would recommend it only if you are too tired to venture farther into the city.

Yelp
Excellent food at reasonable price! About €15 a plate. Menus include English translations. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Food was very good. One in the party had extensive allergy list and staff would check with kitchen on appropriate dishes. Pasta, salad, lamb and thick steak were all excellent. Not the best area but great find.

Yelp
Marco is the best! Ask for him if you come here. Tell them Serena sent you! Order the piña colada during happy hour, the best cocktail in Paris!

Alexa M.

Yelp
We were looking for a nice meal near the Montmartre area and when we walked past the owner was very friendly and asked us inside, gave us a complementary drink and helped us though the menu. When our food came (in less than 10 minutes) we were not disappointed! The salad we ordered was huge and full of flavor and the beef bourgeoise was great too. Also at a very reasonable price, would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I came here after a beautiful day in Montmarte. Very friendly service and they definitely are used to tourists. The welcomed us warmly. I was with a Parisienne although I don't think that mattered. He suggested this place. I had the giant salad with salmon and a light creme sauce. C'est magnifique! I loved it. And the fried potatoes on top, so good. With a glass of wine it was the perfect meal on a chilly night after an insane amount of walking. The salad was massive and I wouldn't dare consider taking any kind of vulgar "doggy bag" away lol. We sat downstairs which was more mellow. Upstairs was heathing with a huge group of 20 year olds (shudder) from all over the world.

Yelp
It s a bit hard to get a table, but the dishes they serve are HUGE and delicious. Speciality: big salads full of good good juicy stuff!

Yelp
Okay we really had high hopes for this place after reading about the fried potatoes, seeing the pictures here, etc. However reality soon disappointed us - ordered one of the salads, and 2 steaks which came with the aforementioned potatoes. Which were: oily, greasy, half cold & half warm, obviously microwaved, not at all crispy or even remotely delicious. Steaks were fine, the rest of the salad was fine, good bacon in it, waitstaff was careless, serving like doing you a favor. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
My favourite restaurant in Paris! Which is saying something because the food in Paris is pretty dang amazing. The meals here are nearly too big to finish, well priced and delicious! You can get a main for around 15-20euro or do a banquet style 'menu' and get 3 courses. You can reserve a table here, but the waiters will give you an odd look. The French tend to eat a little later, around 8pm, so if you can, get there around 6/6:30 and you shouldn't have a problem getting a table. They serve cocktails here too, which are a little pricey but are fantastic!

Yelp
We randomly ran across this restaurant and it was without a doubt a cut above. They specialize in salads covered with fried potatoes, which works far better than you would have thought. I thought that my salad with potatoes, cured meat and goose liver was just wonderful. My wife's confit du canard could not be faulted. We loved this place.

Yelp
We loved this place. Itty bitty little restaurant, terrific food, great wine. Friendly, patient server who tolerated our poor French.
