The location for this hotel really is excellent. You are right in the heart of Troyes. The secure underground parking underneath the hotel makes it super convenient. The room that we had was large and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. ||The less positive aspects of our stay were the unfriendly welcome and tired state of the room. Given the age of the building, it's not surprising that the natural light was poor. However, there is no excuse for not having proper lamps so that you can read. It is not at a four star standard with little attention to detail. The breakfast has limited choice and is overpriced. ||It is certainly not a bad hotel. However, the lack of attention to detail and unfriendly welcome makes it not somewhere that I would rush back to. Let's hope that a forthcoming renovation improves it.

HOTEL TO BE AVOIDED We stayed at this place end of December for 1 night and got assigned room 106. We booked the hotel thinking we'd have a nice luxury stay at a 4-star hotel at the end of our vacation. Unfortunately, this was not the case at all. We arrived around 6.30pm. Room 106 was freezing cold. The receptionist tried to help us by setting the heating to 28 degrees and full blast. This didn't solve the problem since the heating unit is located in the hallway, and not in the room. There was no possibility of changing rooms. After three hours, it was still as cold as ever. The heating turned off for some unknown reason and the night receptionist tried to turn it back on with partial success. Even at full power, the system failed to heat the room, the main reason probably being its position in the corridor, not in the bedroom. We had to put on extra day-clothes to sleep! This is totally unacceptable for a 4-star hotel room labeled “comfort room”. There was no comfort to be found. We paid 175 Euro for this stay at check-in (unfortunately)! We kindly asked Mr. David Abi Aad, the Manager, for at least a partial refund, which he simply refused to do. Unfortunately we cannot recommend staying at this hotel.

When we booked this hotel we wanted to be near the centre of the city but didn't actually realised how close it was. Within 20 yards around a corner we were in the main town square. Tucked away down a little cobble street with Tudor type half timbered buildings it was like stepping back to a Shakespearian time. Whilst the beautiful building looked it's age outside, the inside certainly didn't. The reception area was modern with a very comfortable adjacent lounge area. The room was well decorated and had a large comfortable bed. The room, and in fact all the hotel, was spotlessly clean. Whilst we didn't have dinner at the hotel, there were numerous eateries within a few yards. Breakfast, the usual buffet, was excellent. Normally parking is available at a cost.

Dirty and scammers!! We stayed here for two nights in the ‘Junior suite’. It was so dirty inside the room, no pillow protectors so disgusting stains on the pillows that you could see through the cover. We had to ask for extra pillow cases as we felt uncomfortable sleeping on these dirty sheets. Hairs found inside the bed also and shower. Layers of dust everywhere, there was a layer of grime beside the bed and the balcony had croissant crumbs all over the tables and chairs. Dirty marks and stains all over the walls, the room itself is so dark and dreary, we paid over 550 for two nights for this!! The room feels more like a brothel instead of a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in cleaner motels! We did not bring this to staffs attention as you should not have to tell a hotel to be clean especially when you pay this much! To make matters worse, we paid for our room in advance. However, an additional 100€ was taken from our account without notifying us they would do so, nor our consent. Only that my wife checked her bank account she noticed this. We were told this was a ‘guarantee’. This makes no sense and we had paid for everything upfront even parking! When we asked staff they told us it would be refunded however we still have not received our money back. We have rang and they told us they would call us back, still no call!! On the phone they tried to say they couldn’t see our booking, this was the day after we checked out! We seen from other reviews that this has been done to others! We have stayed in at least 20+ hotels around France, a mix of both budget hotels and expensive 5* hotels and we have never been charged for a ‘guarantee’!! Stay far away from this place it’s so dirty and taking money from people hoping they won’t notice! I’d like to meet the person who consented to this hotel getting 4 stars! A joke!!

Our chosen stop off location from UK to South of France. Troyes is a lovely old city and this hotel is excellently well placed to enjoy the main square restaurants by foot. The hotel is served by a public underground car park that is secure and controlled in a separate area for the hotel. We have stayed seven times now and enjoy the larger room as we travel with our dog

Wonderfully positioned hotel with the added advantage of unground parking. Staff very helpful, reception beautifully designed as was the breakfast room. Sadly that is as good as it gets. The room was very average and that’s being kind. Dated is one thing, grotty is something else, how this hotel retains a four star rating is beyond me. Given how lovely reception is, perhaps it is being slowly renovated room by room but I’d look elsewhere if visiting again until the rooms meet what is expected from a four star hotel. No restaurant but so many to choose from literally from walking out the front door to the hotel, it doesn’t present an issue as the choice is limitless, which is perhaps why the Hotel doesn’t operate it’s own offering.

I absolutely loved staying here in the centre of Troyes. Staff were amazing. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Windows overlooking the cobblestone lane. As a solo traveler I felt safe and well cared for.

Terrible! We stayed here after a long drive hoping for a relaxing evening in Troyes. We had booked two luxe rooms 403 and 402. ||The parking was a nightmare to find (added at least half an hour to our journey) The underground parking is useful but if you have a roof box you won’t fit! Indeed the parking is the best thing about the hotel - so much so my husband suggested we sleep in the car. ||Our rooms were supposedly two of the best in the hotel. One had a tiny disabled toilet (we are not disabled) and revolting bathroom with a shower over the bath and some kind of green human material stuck to the sink. The second had a very strange huge bathroom but a tiny toilet room which meant my daughter who is 5”8 could barely sit down and shut the door. ||The carpets were so revolting I’m struggling to find words for them. We had our dog with us and even she was reluctant to walk on them. Ours had what was very clearly poo on in multiple locations. We arrived at night and didn’t see quite how bad it was until the morning or we would have left immediately. It makes me feel itchy even remembering it. ||The bed was ok and the sheets were clean but we felt very uncomfortable due to the dirty room, toilet, and ugh, the carpet. We went to bed fully clothed. ||In my daughters’ room there was a loud banging coming from the ceiling all night. ||The breakfast was dismal and not worth €5 let alone €17. ||The receptionist recommended a restaurant down the road which was revolting. We left and had to go to a second one so paid for two meals. ||I don’t usually write reviews but please don’t stay here with kids. It’s so dirty I couldn’t imagine having a baby or toddler crawling around on those carpets. My husband was right, we should have slept in the car!
