I think it great that they have an upmarket restaurant at a major tourist attraction like this. The food was beautifully presented with good combinations of different flavours and textures. Pleasant and efficient service in comfortable surroundings. There was only one white wine available (the Abbey’s own) which I thought was a bit limited. Reasonable prices.

Second time having lunch there with relatives who live in the area. Apparently, there was a management change. We enjoyed the menu of the day with a delicious goat cheese salad starter, lovely cod with bouillabaisse/aioli sauce, and a panacotta dessert. Service was gracious and efficient.

Exceptionally good restaurant without pretending to be a Michelin star one. It’s directly located next to the abbey but it’s not a tourist fast food restaurant. People come here from quite a distance. The food is rather high class but also straight forward without unnecessary thrills. Book a table! Otherwise it’ll get difficult to get one. The waiters are easy going and you don’t have to be prepared for a snobby French restaurant. Perfect 👌🏻 and thank you for great stay!

We always visit the restaurant when my son visits. We have never been disappointed. Today was no different.

We had the lunch menu and it was exceptional for the asking price. Quick service, gastronomical food, beautiful location, highly recommended!

The Abbey and its gardens are fabulous and we absolutely loved our lunch on the terrasse of La Table after our visit. The food, much of it with ingredients from the Abbey, was delicious as was the "Deo Gratis" rose from their vineyards. Service was super friendly to round off the experience. (Our waiter was originally from Wales). You need to call to book - the email address shown on the website will get you no response (as other reviewers have noted)

The quality of service, high standard of food and exceptional price point for the 'menu du jour' make Le Restaurant de Fontfroide a genuinely affordable treat. At the time of our most recent visit the menu du jour was €29's for three fabulous courses. Entry level wines from under €20. Most of their offerings are either produced by the abbey or are sourced nearby. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
I come to Narbonne 2-4 weeks a year and so far, the Table is the best restaurant in the area. The sauces are very well prepared. Fresh, balanced, and original. The fish, and the meat, were both sourced from great producers - the taste exploding with quality - and cooked to perfection on order. This is a chef with taste and life energy. I want to come back often. Portion size was huge for the region. I had trouble finishing my daurade, the size of my hand. The cheese starter included an entire goat's cheese which I shared with two others and still felt full after. Service is polite and efficient, but slow; which is normal given that the place was packed on a weekday lunch outside the holiday period. However if you've made it this far into the guarrigue you'll probably be patient and it isn't a bad place to chill. As the designated driver I did not try the wines until later. The Cloture, which is the only one not available on tasting at the cave next door, is not IMHO worth the money (unlike much of the line-up); it tries too hard to be a Bordeaux and whilst it succeeds to some extent, it makes it less interesting than the other wines from the region which bear a stronger mark from the personality of their vigneron. The Abbey stout (not actually produced there) was good but uninspired, the other stout from the region (Ecume? La Mer? something you find at the Ferme cote producteurs and a few others by the bottle) is better. I would recommend tasting the wines next door before ordering the ones you like with your meal.
