The waiting time is long ( super long) and we waited more than 30 minutes. The meals might be good but I might not have finished my plate because the smell was bad and I tried some other food but they weren’t good and the rice has no taste so I don’t recommend it. I waited for water but they only brought it when we said. The restaurant is looking expensive and fancy so you might want to come here. The location is hard to come with a car but the view is perfect. I tried raw meat and I didn’t like it so much. I tried dessert after and it looked small but it was actually big. The staff are very friendly and they prepare your seats well.

This review is for the restaurant only. Had an extremely disappointing meal that cost close to 400 euros for 3 people. I wish we had read the Google reviews first. The kitchen really needs someone who cares about food and cares about quality in charge. My gambas were overcooked and rubbery in an oily sauce that separated when it sat on the plate. The bouillabasse was cold by the time the fish came to table. Just leave it in the pot, don't serve it and then make people wait for the fish. The chiparones were the best dish, but it wasn't clear from the menu description that it was a fried dish, just like the fried cuttlefish so we ordered both and had basically two of the same thing. (I've had chiparones before that were stuffed and sauteed, and that's what I thought we had ordered). Dessert was ok. The strawberry pastry tasted like it had sat out too long. The flan was fine, but like something my grandmother might have cooked.I understand tradition, but the menu needs a refresh and reset with someone with imagination and vision in control. The service was friendly and attentive. That was the best part of the meal. The view is beautiful.

This was a quirky style hotel with modern amenities, fantastic staff, and the room service breakfast served on the private terrace each morning was a joy! We absolutely loved the location just off the beaten path nestled in a neighborhood. Easy walk to many great restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Great value for the money. Things to be aware of (didn't bother us but could be an issue): 1. There is air conditioning, but it's governed at a temp just cooler than outside in July... so the room was warm even with air. 2. No elevators, so up the steps to the hotel built into a hillside and then to the room. For us, this added to charm but could be an accessibility issue.

This place just isn’t it, but there are also zero good options in this town. Also the air conditioning was horrible, air filter was disgusting.

Came excited for a nice meal to find that our waiter was exceedingly rude, the food was overpriced and poor (do not get their signature bouillabaisse). The steak was very nice but the seafood was impressively badly cooked in general given that they are a primarily seafood restaurant. I’ve had better enjoyed kebabs.

We spent a memorable day & night at Hotel Le Rhul to leave the crowds around the Old Port behind us, enjoy some well-deserved relaxation in a seaside hotel, and try its renowned restaurant. The place deserves its fame for the restaurant, offering good food, very good service, all at an still acceptable price point. The hotel (officially 3 stars) is fine but less impressive, although we had a Privilege double room with terrace at a hefty 234€ in early August). The room was small (~15 sqm), the terrace large, the air conditioning excellent yet quiet, the bathroom without a window but still in good condition if only for one loose fixture in the bathtub/shower and a couple of ants crawling the floor (no big deal). At this price point, we would have wished for a few more in-room amenities (no slippers, even on request, no toothbrush nor -paste, so don’t forget to bring your own) given the steep price, irrespective of the number of stars. On the plus side, the view of the Mediterranean Sea is amazing, and in theory, descending a stairway outside the premises, you could even take a bath in the sea from a couple of rocks. The breakfast (9,80€), despite a generous pot a good coffee, was disappointing though, especially the pastries (dry), the fruit salad (probably canned), with notable absences milk alternatives and sweetener. The restaurant is of a high level, with almost impeccably professional service. The 3 or so waiters that attended to our needs were all very friendly, humble and obliging. The Bouillabaisse (68€) was really good, the price expected, surely a bit steep but overall acceptable given the level of service and professionalism. The staff made one mistake though as per the restaurant’s own Bouillabaisse Charta, which is that even though we were shown the fish that was going to be served, it wasn’t filleted in front of us. Our verdict: 4/5 for the hotel, 5/5 for the restaurant, 5/5 as a whole.

I ordered a bouillabaisse that was too acidic and the fish in it had no taste. The fish that was supposed to be the pêche du jour that my mother ordered also did not taste like anything. The only thing that was good was the filet au poivre. For a restaurant that claims to have bouillabaisse as a specialty, and for over 70€ no less, they should probably revise the recipe.

It’s a bit of distance but nice view all the way while we walk there. The last bus back to the port is 9:13pm so count your time carefully when booking. We decided to walk back as we were too full and saw stunning sunset on our way back, so I would recommend walking a bit by the coast. It didn’t feel that far when walking back. Scenery view from the table - definitely book in advance to sit by the window

Yelp
Without much reference for what a good bouillabaisse is, we went to Le Rhul based off of a recommendation. What we found was a nice little restaurant part of a hotel that had a great view of the Mediterranean Sea and the sunset. What followed was a delicious, albeit a bit pricy, meal of fresh seafood. We ordered the shrimp appetizer, the lobster and scallops (not pictured) and the bouillabaisse. The shrimp + lobster and scallops were fine. Nicely flavored and not too salty, though the portions were a bit small. The prices were around €20 and €42 respectively which were probably a bit pricier than we would have liked for what we got but the flavors were fine. The bouillabaisse was definitely the star. For 1 order of €68 we were given 4 bowls of soup (with hot refills) and a plate of fresh seafood that were the base ingredients of the soup. It was hearty, filling, and delicious. We had two members in our party who are pretty sensitive to the briny-ness of seafood yet they were able to fully enjoy the soup. It went perfectly with the bread and Cassis half bottle of wine that we ordered. All in all the meal came out to be about €180 for a party of 4 which was much more expensive than other meals we had in Marseille yet we did not walk away feeling like it wasn't worth it.

Yelp
Incredible view of the Golfe de Marseille and the Anse de la Fausse Monaie (a quaint cove with swimming off the rocks). Note that all of the properties facing Corniche du Président John Fitzgerald Kennedy will have a bit of road noise, as it's a busy street, but still extremely lovely. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Easily accessible to the Metro and Vieux-Port via the bus which comes every 10 minutes.

Yelp
We ordered bouillabaisse with lobster (76 Eros) and without lobster (65 euros). Our meal was overpriced, not delicious and the overall dining experience not pleasant. The fish soup arrived before the fish and we were advised to have it first. The fish was then presented at the table before it was removed to be placed in bowls for serving. The presentation looked great. When the fish arrived the soup had cooled off and the fish was not hot. There were several pieces of fish and three pieces of potato. Some fish pieces were inedible because they were tough and filled with bones The only shell fish were two muscles and a tiny little crab that was too small to open. For that price, it seems reasonable for us to have expected a generous portion of fish and a variety of shellfish. The wait staff was not gracious. When we told our waitress that we were disappointed we got a blank stare and she said nothing. As we left I told the woman at the door that we were unhappy. She shrugged and walked away, without saying anything. A simple apology would have been appropriate. We were left with the distinct impression that because did not order starters, had one glass of wine and a beer we were not regarded as fancy enough to be treated graciously. We are visiting this spectacular part of the world from New York City on a two week trip that canceled in 2020 during Covid. Apparently even experienced restauranteurs can lose sight of a restaurant's primary business mission -making guests feel welcome and appreciated while serving generous portions of delicious food. That did not happen here.

Yelp
Awful. One star because my wife's sole was good and chocolate dessert too. Bouillabaisse a disappointment; no seasoning, rouille had no flavor. And scales are a big no no. Service was deplorable. I had made reservation in French but since we spoke English they assumed we were Brits (we are American) and they apparently don't like Brits. We did not get any points getting a bottle of wine even though French speaking people around us drank juice with their meals! The bottle was out of our reach and we constantly had to ask for refills. We were done in an hour when usually it takes us a couple hours. Nobody ever asked us how are meal was, not even when paying. I guess they know they serve crap and have lousy service!
