My first impression of Le Richemond was very good, but after staying in there for a couple of nights I could perceive the hotel has some small detail issues (little things such as the way housekeeping is or isn't done, for example) that made me reconsider it. It is still a great, glamourous hotel, of course. I felt the staff was a bit dissatisfied with their jobs, though, which caused them to be excessively polite in a fake way. I also think it's ridiculous to have the doormen wear hats and heavy coats in the summer, that makes no sense and it looks theatrical in a childish cheesy way. Let's not forget the hotel belongs to the Dorchester collection, which in turn belongs to the Sultan of Brunei, a very obscure figure that issued anti-gay laws in his country that allow authorities to kill gay people in public with rocks just for being gay. That alone is reason enough to choose any other hotel in the world BUT any Dorchester destination. Sorry! :-( If you have any doubts about this, check it: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/article-2640473/Anna-Wintour-boycott-Le-Meurice-Dorchester-Collection-hotel-Sultan-Bruneis-anti-gay-laws.html
