We had a wonderful experience at Saint George’s Restaurant in Gruyères, and a huge part of that was Ethan. From the moment we were seated, he provided exceptional customer service. He was attentive without ever being intrusive, truly listened to our requests, and made sure everything was exactly as we hoped. What stood out most was how genuine he was — you can tell Ethan truly loves his job. His professionalism, warmth, and knowledge reflect excellent training, and it made our visit feel relaxed, welcoming, and memorable. Service like this is rare and deserves recognition. Thank you, Ethan, for elevating our dining experience. We would gladly return and hope to be served by you again.

We dined at their restaurant and the experience was nothing but a phenomenal and pleasant surprise. Great service, very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. Food was amazing. I will eat there again on my next trip to Gruyèes, no doubt. Gryuères is a magic and beautiful city and the folks at Le Saint Georges Restaurant made our experience whole. Congratulations for providing an amazing service and experience to your patrons.

Our first time in Switzerland and for Christmas and decided on a late lunch. Celio was our server and was wonderful and attentive. Spoke English, Spanish and German so he was well equipped to help us in every language. Our first time trying fondu and it was magnificent! 10/10 would visit again! The view outside the window was a huge bonus too!

Had a wonderful dinner with my friend. I am vegan and the restaurant was very accommodating. Ethan was our server and he was kind, fast, and very personable. I had the lentil soup that was a masterpiece!! Then the Tagglatelle with roasted tomatoes. Wow!! Loved every single bite!!

I love the room, very classic Swiss style. Clean & warm~ From check-in until restaurant, all the staffs are so so so friendly. Ethane was our service staff, very patient & always have smile on the face. Parking is about 500m away from the hotel, but very beautiful village. Highly recommend for visiting in Gruyère.

We stayed at Le Saint Georges on recommendation in Rick Steve's guidebook. The friendly staff is completely focused on your satisfaction and you are greeted with a "Welcome back" each time you return to the hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The restaurant is exceptional and offers a variety of delicious entrees. The award-winning fondue is a must try! We enjoyed our stay. Brett and Sue, USA

Had a wonderful meal at Le Saint Georges in Gruyères. The fondue was delicious, rich, flavorful, and perfectly done. The best part is the panoramic view from the terrace, which makes the whole experience even more special. Friendly service and a great spot to relax after exploring the village. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This hotel is a gem! There are some pros and cons to it but honestly I would highly recommend it to everyone! Parking: Now the main entrance to this hotel is located inside a pedestrian only street within the medieval village. It's a beautiful location! Now because it's location parking can be fun. They have 3 lots you can choose from. P1 is the closest and about a 5 minute walk up a small hill. P2 is the next closest where you will have about 100 stairs and a small hill. P3 is located the furthest and will be a hike from the bottom of the hill for about a 7-10 minute walk. No matter where you park there will be a hill and you will need to carry you luggage up it. Now with that being said, it's not a hard hike up those hills and they have benches to relax on. The views are unreal here so if you need a break, just pause and enjoy the views. Parking is $10 and the hotel front desk will provide you a parking pass for your car. Checking in: The front desk for this hotel is tucked away in a corner and it's wonderful! I seriously loved how after we checked in the gentleman walked us to our room and gave us a tour of the hotel. In all the hotels I've stayed at in the world, I've never had that and it was seriously a nice touch! Views: With this hotel you get two views. The first is one overlooking the town center and the second is looking at the beautiful mountains. Honestly both views are unbelievable! What's unique about staying in the medieval village of Gruyères is that during the day it will be packed with tourists. Parking will be difficult during this time. However once it hits like 6pm all the tourists leave and it because very quiet and peaceful. It's very relaxing! Overall phenomenal hotel and I would highly recommend it to everyone!

Yelp
I was told to come for the dessert, but chose to take in the whole experience. As far as views go, this is one of the best views from a restaurant that I have seen. It puts on display all the glories of the hills of Switzerland. I ordered their "signature dish" which is essentially a Gruyère based Mac and cheese with black pepper and local ham. This was ok. Nothing special, and would have earned them a 3 star rating on its own. Luckily I also ordered the meringue au double crème which was spectacular. Add the dessert to the amazing view, and 4 starts all around
