How a New Generation of Locavores Is Championing France’s Luberon Valley

"Owners Lise Kvan and Éric Monteleon bought the 19th-century building and opened their restaurant in 2019. When Laila and I had visited in July, the menu was heavy on tomatoes and Cavaillon melons; this time, in October, at a table à deux on a terrace overlooking the Luberon, we found a profusion of mushrooms and canard, noting gratefully that Banon, a goat's cheese wrapped in chestnut leaves, remained in season."

Outstanding hotel and restaurant. We enjoyed our two day stay here so much. The room is charming and opens out onto the beautiful village square. The room is also perfectly set out and comfortable. The village is charming and lightly touched by tourism - but only lightly. There is a real local life here. The dinner was impeccable and very well priced. We looked out onto a beautiful view of the Luberon landscape. Reminded us of when we lunched in the Auberge du Soleil in Napa valley- at much greater expense ! The couple who run this place are putting in a very big effort and clearly want it to work. We came away feeling they deserve success.

Incredibly special place - with stunning views. Utterly delicious food and wine - so carefully prepared and presented. Service was some of the best ever - Sylvan stood out as being charming, enthusiastic and helpful. But the whole team were wonderful - explaining the wines and the method of production. Each course and every choice delighted the four of us. One of the best meals we have ever eaten - and light, not too heavy either. The fig leaf dessert…incredible!

A lovely September Sunday lunch with a great view. The food is delicious, we tried the Marcedoine de bulot and the Banon cheese for starters. For mains we vent with gnocchi, chicken (with crispy homemade fries) and tomato salad - all very tasty and well-prepared. Very nice atmosphere and good service. Reservations recommended. Remember to ask for table at the terrace to enjoy the full view. To stay out of the sun, the first row inside the restaurant also offers a good view.

We stayed for three nights and had a truly fantastic experience. The hotel is beautifully renovated - our room was spotless, comfortable, and had a picturesque view of the village. The bar has a charming, relaxed atmosphere with excellent drinks, and the restaurant is absolutely worth a visit - delicious food and gorgeous views over the valley. What really made our stay stand out, though, was the team. Every one we encountered was warm, friendly, and professional. It’s clear that a lot of care and intention goes into running this hotel, from the service to the design details. The owners were especially kind and helpful, sharing great local tips and recommendations that made our time there feel extra personal and memorable. Very highly recommend, we can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in France! My parents and I went here for dinner tonight and weren't disappointed! It's a very reasonably priced 3 course meal where there are two or three options per course. The whole meal was rich in flavor but always light at the same time. I got the mushroom soup to start, the dover sole to follow, and the caramel flan for dessert. It was all equally delicious! Amazing service- never felt rushed and extremely friendly!
